The Fastest Mare Alive

"Hey...Hey Dash...Hey I'm talkin' to you!"

Shouted an enraged Lightning Dust as Rainbow Dash trotted away prepared to take off and go home for the day after her wonderbolt's training and the events that followed it with it ending with the now former trainee Lightning Dust out of the game due to her own recklessly and Rainbow Dash had better things to do than waste her time with a mare who almost got several ponies including herself killed and so she continued to ignore her. Lightning Dust didn't take this very well and zipped in front of Rainbow, her lightning coattail behind her and she pressed a firm hoof on her chest.

"Don't you fly away from me! I'm not done with you!" Snapped Lightning

"Yeah? Well I'm done with you..." Rainbow tried to go around Lightning Dust but she wasn't having any of it and stood in her way and narrowed her eyes in contempt for the mare she'd just had everything she worked for taken away from her

"Maybe you didn't hear me Rainbow Crash..." Lightning said with her voice dripping her hateful venom and she then noticed Dash's eye twitch upon begin called Rainbow Crash.

"Dust...Let me make one thing very clear...in fact...No...Two things..." She held up her wings to emphasize her point. "One...I don't have time to play games with some jealous show off who thinks she's wonderbolt material just cause she can fly fast and doesn't show restraint...and second? Call me Crash one more time..." Rainbows voice dropped to a deadly whisper. "And you WILL regret getting in my way more than you already do...So I'll ask you nicely one last time since I'm in a good mood...Move!"

"Want me to move? Make me move Cra-" Rainbow immediately swung a hoof across Lightning's cheek and sent her barreling into a cloud wall not to far from where she stood and before Lightning could get up Dash zipped over and pinned her down by the chest and throat and pressed hard as Lightning began to gasp for air.

"You've got one more time...One more!"

"That's enough Dash!" Yelled Spitfire.

"You're lucky-" Rainbow lifted her hoof off Lightning who gasped for air and coughed

"That's it! I'm gonna-"

"You aren't gonna do a flying fucking thing but LEAVE! You are no longer welcome on this base Lightning Dust, now leave...before I MAKE YOU LEAVE!" Roared Spitfire.

"No...No you can't do this to me! I've worked too hard! Too long!!!!! Please Spitfire just-"

"Recruit Rainbow Dash..."

"Yes Ma'am Spitfire ma'am?"

"Did I...a high ranking military official just give this civilian who has at least three pending crimes against her just tell her to leave under threat of being forced to leave? Which as a highly trained military solider and captain of the wonderbolt I have every right to do if they are not compliant?" She asked in a rhetorical tone

"Yes m'am..."

"I thought so...Now...are you gonna leave? Or do you want to find out the hard way what it means to play with fire? Cause I can assure you I live up to my namesake and I will TORCH you...So...do yourself a favor and LEAVE! The wonderbolts don't need or want a selfish and reckless mare like you...Dash...your dismissed...as are you Dust...don't ever let me catch you around here again...or thunderbolts help me I will end you! NOW GET YOUR FLANK OFF MY BASE!"

Lightning Dust felt her entire world crumbling, every last harsh word that captain Spitfire uttered was like a knife to the heart and soul and one that was constantly being twisted. She'd been working her entire life to get into the wonderbolts, she'd trained day and night, pushed her limits of mind body and soul, she'd tested the limits of her speed to where she was literally the fastest right under Spitfire and Dash with Dash being the fastest given her feat of a sonic rainboom.

It clicked in her mind at that moment, Rainbow Dash had an unfair advantage! She was an element of harmony and could preform a sonic rainboom! That shouldn't be grounds to be picked over in Lightning Dusts mind and felt she needed to maybe try and prove she was faster, maybe then Spitfire would give her another chance. Cracking an almost sinister and broken grin as she got up from where Rainbow had punched her she spat on the cloud ground, her blood staining the flurry whiteness.

"Want me off your base? Want me to leave? Me!?! After all I've done to get here your gonna pick her over me!?! What's she got that I don't huh?! She's a damn element of harmony and can do a sonic rainboom; so what! That doesn't make her better than-"

"Actually it does on both counts! The wonderbolts aren't just some silly flight team, we're a combat unit and a team! And so as captain if a mare or stallion...element of harmony, rainboom or not...wants to join us and do good to protect Equestria then I will give them a chance...What I won't give a chance?" She narrowed her eyes again. "Are selfish, reckless, prideful and arrogant foals who think they're the fastest mare alive!" Spat Spitfire.

"I AM THE FASTEST MARE ALIVE AND I'LL PROVE IT!" Lightning Dust said stomping  a hoof and the cloud beneath them turning black for a moment before returning to normal.

"Fine...You wanna race and settle this? Fine...I'll make this fast...You don't mind do you captain?"

"Put this little foal in her place Dash-that's an order" Spitfire grinned and watched.

"Ma'am yes ma'am!" Rainbow saluted

They both took their positions at the edge of the wonderbolt base and looked out onto Cloudsdale and got ready to fly as they crouched and furrowed their wings.

"Just say when Dust..."

"Fly Dashie...Fly!" Lightning shouted as they both shot off into the air, their coattails left in their wake as they zipped and zoomed off towards cloudsdale to lap around and come back.

Rainbow soared through the air at top speed, busting through the clouds and not even bothering to avoid them as if they weren't even there while Lightning Dust maneuvered around them and got ahead by just a little bit and she thought to herself 'Ha! This all you got?' She grinned as she cut Dash off and zipped through again causing Rainbow to have to reevaluate but it didn't startle her one bit. As they came back to being neck and neck Lightning Dust began to grow annoyed at Rainbow and using her special talent she gathered up the clouds in a slipstream and blasted Rainbow with a bolt of lightning which sent her plummeting into a cloud below them as lightning zoomed off with a laugh.

"Eat my dust loser!" She'd always wanted to say that line and it felt good to be able to use it against the mare she hated most.

She was getting closer to cloudsdale, she was so close to victory she could taste it, just a few more meters and she'd win! She'd prove she was the fastest mare alive and then Rainbow  Dash would the one humiliated and defeated and Spitfire would be proven wrong! Everything was going according to plan until she heard the flapping of wings and a sonic boom and all she saw was a blur of rainbow light shoot past her and in that blur she saw Rainbow Dash, hair longer and spiked and crackling with blue lightning and the force of her sonic boom totally tossed Lightning Dust off course and made her crash into cloudsdale after Rainbow Dash had already landed and beat her there catching the attention of every other pegasi there as she lay there broken and defeated, her left wing was broken and she was too dizzy to stand up.

"I-I Lo-"

"Lose..." Rainbow spat as she trotted up to Lightning and got ready to fly off again, she'd have loved to bask in the glory of being the winner but she wouldn't stoop any lower and entertain lightning and her immature and petty ways but she'd at least let her off with one last jab. Turning her head and looking down at a blooded and bruised Lightning Dust she said with a cocky smirk.

"And never forget...I AM THE FASTEST MARE ALIVE!" Rainbow said as she blasted off, the force her her take off blowing back Lightning's hair.

And then she was gone...and it was gone...all hope...all pride...all will to continue to want to do anything...much less fly. Rainbow had taken everything from her in that instant. Ponies asked if she wanted help getting to the hospital but she rejected them all with a thick layer of malice and cruelty brought about by her now shattered heart and blackened soul.

She had nothing else in Cloudsdale now, the ponies here had betrayed her, they didn't want her, they only wanted  Rainbow Dash...their 'hero' their soon to be wonderbolt...It should have been me! She screamed to herself as she trotted home to gather her things. As she went she continued to mull things over, how dash beat her, her methods to try and win , what would she do now? where would she go? Could she train to get fastest than Dash? Surely there must have been something she could have done to outdo Rainbow Dash...but what? What could she do?

As she reached her home she packed up what things she knew she needed in her saddle bags, the entire time angry at the fact that she'd been beat, so angry she could feel something welling up inside her but she ignored it and allowed her anger and hate to fester and boil, as she trotted around her cloud home the once white clouds began to turn grey and then black. Finally as she stopped her storming around her home she realized what was going on but it was too late then.

Her special talent has been acting on its own will and turned her house into a lightning cloud and she had no way of escaping...but at this point now? She didn't care...she had nothing left...nothing to hope for and nothing to stride for...she had no way if being faster than Rainbow  Dash and so if she couldn't be the fastest mare alive or a wonderbolt? Why continue to live? She got her answer as the house exploded with lightning, electrocuting her to an extreme degree and then the house of clouds vanished leaving only a static charged and seizing lightning Dust on the floor, her hair turned black and yellow and her once yellow lightning turned a reddish black.

Paramedics arrived after she had had blacked out and had her strapped into a gurney and were running tests on her. The shock of her waking up freaked her out as she began to thrash about in both anger and panic and the doctors did their best to hold her down and sedate her but unfortunately for them that didn't happen.

Her hooves began vibrating at high velocity  and her eyes flashed a reddish black with lightning coursing through then as she shoved her vibrating hoof through the skull of one of the doctors and kill him instantly causing the nurses to freak out and run away but none of them managed to escape as within the blink of an eye...a blur of lightning zipped around the room killing them all and when it finally stopped lightning dust hovered in the air looking over herself and then her mouth turned up into an evil sneer as she witnessed one of the nurses that she didn't kill cowering in fear in the corner and she floated over to her and looking down at her with a completely empty and robotic like stare as the mare said.

"W-What in Tartarus are you?!

"The FASTEST mare alive!" She said in a distorted and demonic like voice and vibrated a lightning covered hoof through the mares chest, killing her and once that was done Lightning blasted out of the roof of the hospital where it was revealed to be raining and thunder-storming outside and yet somehow a rainbow shined through the blackened clouds and this made her snarl with anger and instantly the rainbow was eclipsed by a flurry of black clouds that arced  red and black lightning and she giggled sinisterly.

"Ready or not...here I come Dashie!"
