Path of memories

"Rise and shine Solaris," said Twilight who was a little over excited "good morning to you too Twilight and judging by the way your bouncing either you have good news or you have had way too much suger," said solaris rubing the sleep fron his eyes. Twilight stopped bouncing at this point and started giggling "ok whats going on,' asked solaris curiously following the giggling mare downstairs to the dining room.

The smell of pancakes caught his attention as they sat down "spike is making chocolate chip pancakes and thats the first reason i'm happy," said twilight "ok whats the other reason your happy," asked solaris as spike walked in from the kitchen carrying a tray with three plates of pancakes and a bottle of syrup on it. "Morning solaris here is your pancakes said spike placing a plate in front of him and then Twilight befor taking his own seat at the table.

"Thanks spike these look great," said solaris eyeing his pancakes hungrily "just wait untill you taste them their delicous," twilight said between bites.The rest of breakfeast was quiet as twilight , solaris , and spike enjoyed their pancakes afterwords the trio headed to the library "so what was the other reason you were happy you never did tell me," asked Solaris. "Well we are taking you to see the princesses," said Twilight searching for a spicific book only to find it a few minutes later "here it is your going to need to  rea- oh celestia," said twilight dropping the book and running over to solaris who was holding his head in pain as a memory returned to him.

The memory was of a smaller solaris in a huge library with somepony teaching him but solaris didnt recognize the stallion time progressed and solaris saw himself reading hundreds of thousands of books and improving his magic when the memories ended solaris returned to the black space he entered before seeing the memories and felt somepony hugging him it was twilight. She was calling his name while the control of his body returned to him.

Solaris jolted awake and not knowing how close twilight's face was collided with her head on, meanwhile Spike met the other mares and filled them in on the situation and rushed to the library with Rainbow Dash in the lead only to be taken by surprise at the sight in front of them Twilight was kissing Solaris. "So thats why you wanted him to stay here you like him "said Pinkie who pulled a pink camera from seemingly nowhere and snapping a picture.

"what no no no no no he blacked out and scared me then he woke up so fast he collided in to me," said twilight breaking the accidental kiss with a blush on her face "Oh yeah then why are your hooves wrapped around him," challenged Rainbow Dash seeing the blush on Twilights face deepen. "Shes telling the truth i regained a memory although the kiss was a nice surprise," said Solaris defending Twilight causing Rainbow Dash to lose a bit of her smug composure.

"what did you remeber Solaris," asked the still blushing Twilight " i remembered being taught by somepony i didn't recognize and reading hundreds of thousands of books thats how i knew what you were talking about yesterday," said Solaris while helping Twilight get to her hooves. "Um shouldnt we go to the train station," said fluttershy smiling at the kindness of their new friend with a slight blush forming "she"s right well talk more on the way to the station said twilight.

Meanwhile in canterlot

Celestia and luna were talking with the myserious stallion unaware of the incoming danger an army awaited orders from a leader cloaked in shadows the leaders horn charged with a black aura creating a huge ball of darkness pointing to the castle and firing. "So in summarizing the alternate Equestria you came from was completely destroyed by the one who is attacking our Equestria right," asked Celestia with a troubled look on her face. "Thats correct and he's ver- hey why is it getting dark," asked the stallion looking to Celestia in curiosity. "Luna stop playing with the moon," said Celestia scolding her younger sister  "thats not us sister," replied the moon princess.

The trio looked to the window "he's here and the attack has begun prepa-," but the stallion was cut off by an explosion that nearly destroyed the castle.In the midst of the clearing smoke the army attacked leveling half of canterlot a shield cast by the stallion emerged from the rubble "are you two ok," he asked releaseing the spell. "Yes thaks to you," said celestia looking at the damage done to her castle. "Sister he is right this enemy is powerful look around," said luna gesturing toward the wounded "what was that attack he used," asked Celestia.

" He calls it the shadow nova we are lucky to be alive usually it completely destroys who or what is targeted" said the stallion who was now fully revealed as Sombra but not the one known in their Equestria. "Ok so who is our enemy if you are our ally," asked luna firing a magic blast at an attacking minion who vanished into shadows upon being hit. "He's my brother and that wont work he can just create more of those each one stronger than the last," said the alternate sombra. "Ok so how do we stop them if attacking them like that won't work," asked Celestia while protecting some nearby residents and tourists.

"Thats the problem if i knew that solaris and i wouldnt be here but i do have a theory though," said sombra assisting the princesses in fighting the shadows. "And that theory would be," asked Celestia and Luna in unsion while blasting three more shadows to no avail. "If we take out my brother than his army should vanish completely the only problem is getting to him you may have noticed that his army are like shadow versions of ponies,dragons,griffons,and every other species in equestria but created from his darkness so their all just as strong as him," said sombra pointing to members of the royal guard using a leapfrogging tactic to fight three shadow dragons,three shadow griffons, and three shadow manticors.

"Yeah that is going to make things more difficult but this will not stop us from finding a way," said Celestia who didnt notice an arrow of pure darkness coming at her from behind only to be deflected by a shield like the one from before turning around the two sisters saw what had happened and gasped in horror seeing the arrow in Sombra vanishing."But why did you do tha to save me," asked Celestia with tears streaming down her face. "Because you saved me and i owed you and your sister i know in time you will remember but dont worry i still have some time left i only hope solaris will make it before the oblivion arrows time runs out," said Sombra. "What do you mean runs out," asked the now crying Luna. "You see once hit with an oblivion arrow the victum only has eight hours to live thats how onyx killed you and luna in my diminsion," said sombra through his pain.

On the equestria express

"You dont have to worry i used to live in canterlot so stick with me and you wont get lost," said Twilight trying not to laugh at the scene in front of her. "You got it Twilight," said Solaris with a goofy grin on his face while munching on the candy he was sharing with Pinkie. "By the way i'm sorry about the accident with the kiss earlier," said Solaris finishing the last of his candy. "Its okay your actually a great kisser and besides im glad you were my first kiss," said Twilight trying to hide her blush.

"And why is that," asked a now blushing Solaris who couldn't help but smile at the complement. "Well a mare has to have some secrets but i will give you a clue it's the same reason i giggled this morning," said Twilight giving up on trying to hide her blush. "I have ta give ya one thing he is pretty cute ,"said Applejack with a slight blush forming. "I agree but dont let big mac hear you say that darling," said Rarity also blushing which only made her look cute to Solaris. "who's big mac," asked Solaris looking worried about the answer he would get.

"He's Applejacks big brother,"said Twilight moving a little closer to Solaris who didn't notice but only for a few seconds. "Yeah you are pretty cute," chimed Pinkie eating a cupcake she pulled from who knows where. "Oh definitely cute," said Fluttershy blushing furiously while trying to hide her face behind her mane. "Lets not forget handsome and cool," said Rainbow Dash playfully punching Solaris in the shoulder. "Do i need to be careful for anyone in their families," asked Solaris who's blush was getting deeper making his face almost match his mane.

"For me Shinning Armour, for Pinkie Maud and other than that i think your good," said Twilight reassuring Solaris with a smile . "Oh my Celestia," cried the mare three seats down looking out the window  everypony looked in horror at the state Canterlot was in and the massive army that was leaving Twilight who was crying found herself in the embrace of Solaris "Twilight its going to be okay i will protect you and our friends i promise," said Solaris. Twilight let those words repeat themselves in her head and knew he was right because she felt safe with him she could feel it ever since they kissed in the library her heart said so.
