Dead by Daylight: EqG
Chapter 1
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSugarcube Corner Café had a strange schedule. One would think that during the weekends it would be filled with customers having sweets, being if friends or catching up on whatever work they had to get done. The truth was, it was actually the two most slowest days of the week. A possible reason for the café to be so slow was probably because of the many different sales at different stores, and new arrivals of products finally hitting the shelves. There was even sales of online games, forcing avid gamers stay home and wait for a specific game to be on sale. That didn't stop Mr. and Mrs. Cake from opening the shop doors.
They honestly didn't mind it being quiet and slow. In fact, they embraced it. A whole day of catching up on work, maintaining the cafe, taking care of the twins and enjoying their time together.
Pinkie Pie also liked it when it was slow and quiet. That meant she and her friends could hang out longer and have free milkshakes and sweets, which would never be allowed on a weekday. When she first asked to do so, she was strictly told that they were products that made them money, which kept the business running. Taking some for free would make them lose money, and that was needed to take care of the shop and themselves. Pinkie was a bit heartbroken, since she really wanted to have a cold milkshake with her friends. But when she asked if she could take out some for free on the weekends, they reluctantly agreed.
3 years later, and they always had a tray set up for Pinkie and her six friends. Pinkie always thanked them and hugged them, grateful that she could share sweets with her friends. It was moments like those that Mr. and Mrs. Cake looked forward to on weekends. Seeing their somewhat daughter-like employee face smile brightly and receiving a hug from her. It truly was a heartwarming moment.
...
But that didn't matter right now. What really mattered was that Pinkie was searching for the her phone, so she could go on that Pokémon GO walk she and her friends had planned recently. While her friends just wanted to test out the app, she wanted to literally catch them all. Hence why she dressed exactly like a Pokémon trainer. And why she was searching desperately searching for her phone.
"Come on! Come on! Where is my phone! Of all the times it could get lost, why must it be now?!" Pinkie screamed as she frantically threw dirty laundry all over her room, "If I don't find my phone, I'll never get to catch a single Pokémon and I won't be the best trainer!"
She fell onto her knees and started to ball her eyes out.
"Please just give me my phone!"
BZZZ! BZZZ!
Pinkie immediately stopped crying and reached into her pocket, revealing that her phone was in her pocket the whole time. She slapped her forehead and unlocked her phone. It was a text from Rainbow Dash.
'Hey Pinkie, when ur done crying, come down so we can get going'
She giggled, pocketed her phone and literally bounced her way downstairs, through the kitchen and out into where her 6 friends were waiting. They all looked at her and each had a face of surprise. In all honesty, I would be surprised to if a friend of mine just came out, completely decked out in a Pokémon trainer outfit, when all we were really going to do was just try it out the new Pokémon GO app for about a day or two.
"Uh, Pinkie? Why are dressed like that?" Rainbow asked. She already knew the answer, and asking her was really redundant. But she knew that the others didn't know, so she asked Pinkie to clarify for her. Why? Because she's awesome like that.
"Duh, so I can be the best Pokémon trainer in Canterlot! I will catch every Pokémon I see, and I might be famous for it!" Pinkie explained, finishing it off with a smile and a squee.
All but Twilight just simply rolled their eyes and pulled out their phones.
Pinkie was just about to pull out hers, when she had a sudden feeling. At first she thought it was her Pinkie Sense acting up. But this was different. She suddenly felt a bit fearful, nauseous and had a mild headache. She looked out the window and saw the Everfree Forest. Her combination of feelings intensified. She instantly backed up a bit and her hair deflated, but not enough for it to be noticeable. Sweat immediately started dripping down her forehead. Her knees felt weak and she felt like she would collapse right then and there.
"...go, Pinkie. Pinkie, hey!"
Pinkie immediately snapped out of her trance. All of the feelings she recently had were all gone and she noticed that the café was brighter. She shook her head a bit and looked towards her friends. They were all ready and were at the door, waiting (im)patiently for her.
"Sorry, what?"
"We're about to go now. Are you coming?" Sunset asked, hand on her hips.
"Uh, yeah, yeah. Let's go." she replied, no enthusiasm whatsoever in her voice.
"Pinkie, dear. Is everything all right? You seem so, what's the word?"
"Un-hyper?" Fluttershy asked, voice barely audible.
"I was going to use out-of-it, but that works as well." said Rarity.
"It's fine girls. Just felt a little weird for a second, but no biggie. Let's go catch some Pokémon!" said Pinkie, putting on a fake smile. She quickly walked out of the store and crossed the street. As she crossed, she wondered what those feelings meant. She never felt sick or scared when her Pinkie Senses were in action, so obviously something very horrible either was going to happen, or already happened.
"Pinkie, could ya please wait up? We ain't as fast as ya!" Applejack called out. Pinkie stopped and turned around. She was already a block and a half away from Sugarcube Corner. She assumed she must have gone faster when she got lost in her thoughts. All 6 girls had finally caught up, each having a face of concern. Pinkie weakly smiled and unclenched her fists that formed by themselves.
"Heh, sorry about that girls. Got lost in thought."
"Pinkie, you alright? You're acting different." Sunset asked her.
"Oh, nothing. Um, can I talk to you Sunset?"
"Sure thing! You girls go on up ahead, we'll catch up."
The remaining five girls nodded and continued to walk on, phones out and app running. Sunset turned and faced Pinkie, who seemed a bit sad, which was really confusing since she was extremely hyper not to long ago. But Sunset had an idea of what could've caused her to become sad looking.
"So, you felt it too, right?" Pinkie's eyes had widened, completely surprised that Sunset had guessed what was bothering her, and that she felt the same feeling. She stammered, not sure how to answer.
"Explains why you were staring outside. Well, I guess I can worry about this with you."
"What exactly should we worry about? And what did we feel?"
Sunset looked down, as if trying to do a really hard task in her head. After a few seconds she looked back up and started to explain.
"What we felt was our magic, the Magic of Friendship, detecting something, something that is way stronger than the Friendship of Magic. Why it does that is a complex thing, so I'll explain it in a way you can understand; imagine our magic as like a colourful, free-flowing thing that protects us and this realm. It is always looking for anything that may want to break through and cause chaos. But something are stronger than the Magic of Friendship, so it alerts the Elements of Harmony, which for this realm is us, of the stronger force. It can't stop it, so it warns us via the feeling we just had. When I saw you staring out the window, I could tell that you were either seeing it enter from far away, or seeing it do something from far away."
"But what about the Battle of the Bands, or the Friendship Games, and why hasn't it gone to the others?"
"Those two events were different. The sirens were purposely brought here via somepony making a hole in with the Magic of Freindship, therefore making the Magic think that it was a harmless thing, and the Friendship Games was just Twilight trying absorbing it into the device. As for why the others haven't felt it? It takes time for the Magic to alert the others."
Pinkie nodded. She now knew what the feeling meant. But that was one thing out of the way, she needed to tell Sunset something important.
"Do you think this thing the Magic warned us of can hurt others?" Pinkie nervously asked. She hoped it wouldn't. Because if it did, than what she saw going into the forest would be hurt.
"I think so, why?"
Pinkie's fear was now true. It was over for them. And there was nothing she could've done.
"When I looked toward the Everfree Forest, I had a feeling that something very bad was going to happen. That something, or someone, would either hurt, or worse, kill someone. And I was right."
Sunset gasped, becoming fearful herself now.
"Did you see anyone going towards there?
Pinkie nodded her head. Her hair had fully deflated and tears started to come out.
"I did. I saw four boys go right towards it."
