//-------------------------------------------------------// Dead by Daylight: EqG -by LeCanadianSniperInkling- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Commencement //-------------------------------------------------------// Commencement The young boy ran, faster than he could ever do on a regular day. The reason for him to run quickly was to live, to not be killed, to go home and tell his mom and dad about the man with a weapon that killed his friends. He would tell them how they were fooling around near the old factory when one of his friends stepped onto a bear trap, and how hard he and his two other friends tried to pry it open. Then he would tell them that a man wearing a strange mask swung a big, sharp, club-like weapon at his friend. After he told them that, he would go on to tell them that he and his third friend had no choice but to run and hide, to escape the killer. They both ran quickly, turning around corners, down long stairwells, and out into the woods. The two both looked back and saw the killer holding the friend that stepped on the bear trap over his shoulder go left, towards a little hill, with a wooden post and a large meat hook hanging off it. They stopped immediately, both not knowing what would happen. They knew right away what the killer was going to when the killer threw their friend onto the meat hook, making him scream in pain, blood dripping down his shirt. The killer then swung at him, inflicting more pain as a way to try and make unconscious from the great amount of pain. It worked immediately. The boy and his friend debated if they should go and save their friend, or leave and escape. On one hand, that was their lifelong friend. They knew each other for as long as they could remember, and leaving him behind would probably ruin their friendship forever, if they all survived and got out of there. On the other hand, it was probably a lost cause. He was probably doomed from the beginning, and going back to save him was only going to mean instant death. Right before he could come up with a plan to save their friend, their other friend, who the thought was killed, sprinted from out of nowhere, hastily pulled the boy being hung of the hook, and both ran together into a different direction. The killer came back, just barely about to see the two boys run away. The killer, despite the mask and the far away distance, looked utterly confused. He looked down on the ground and saw something. The boy couldn’t see, but he had a good idea of what it might be. It was the only possible thing that could’ve made its way onto the hard, dirt ground after his friend pull of his other friend. Blood. And he probably left a path of it right into the woods, right to their positions, where they would be killed. The boy knew that they were going to die, and there was nothing he could’ve done about it. Maybe except for one thing. He could try and make out any possible features the killer might have, because chances were he probably would change into different clothes and hide among normal people, blending in and getting away with two murders. Which is way he would try and make out any visible facial features, and report him to the police and, to a degree, avenge his two friends. But when he tried to get closer, he stepped on a large stick, making a loud and very noticeable crack. As a reflex, he ducked back into he and his friends hiding place and tried to make very little sound. From a small gap in between the wall and the tree, he could see the killer look in their direction. He bit on his bottom lip, hoping it could somehow make him invisible and not be seen. It felt like they were both having a staring contest, and he was losing. After a long 5 seconds, the killer turned and started to follow the blood path. He gave out a long, heavy sigh of relief, glad that he and his friend were not going to be hunted down. He turned and was about to suggest to his friend that he and him try to escape, when he heard a loud, clanging sound from right beside him, like a cowbell. He saw nothing, and assumed that it was only his imagination playing tricks on his stressed out, adolescent mind when a bright, orange glow appeared right in front of them. Then, a tall being stood above them, two white, beady eyes staring right at them. He screamed, and the being swung his skull weapon and struck his friends shoulder, causing blood to spray everywhere and him to scream. The boy scrambled to his feet and ran, which brought him to this moment. With him running, covered in his friends blood covered all over him. He didn’t care about his friends at the moment, he just wanted to go home and live his life. He could make new friends, and he could remember his old ones. He looked to the side and saw two, familiar people running out of the woods. “Button! Rumble!” The two boys looked at him and turned towards his direction. He was glad that two of his friends had made it out alive. As they got closer, he noticed the poorly done bandage on Buttons’s left shoulder area. The blood had dried out, showing a large dark red circle rather than, showing that a wound was definitely there. “Guys! How did you escape that guy? He must have been right behind you!” All three plopped onto the ground, catching their breaths. Rumble, sweating profusely, leaned on the post, heavy meat hook swinging in the wind. Button rubbed his bandage, then turned to the boy. “T-there was a little shack of some sort, with two closets,” Button began to explain, “So we decided to hide in them. Still can’t believe it actually worked.” “Let’s not focus on that right now,” Rumble said, looking behind him to make sure no one was following them, “Right now, we need to find Featherweight and get out of here.” The boy immediately felt a pang of guilt, knowing he should have stayed behind and tried to save Featherweight. He was probably hanging on a hook right now, bleeding out and dying in pain and agony. “No, let’s get out of here, now.” “Wait, what?! No, that is our friend out there! We are going to go back and get him!” Button declared. “What’s the point? He’s probably hanging on a hook as of now, and we’d be risking our lives trying to get him. Either we get out of here and let the cops deal with it or we all die.” Rumble and Button gave the boy a horrified look, the boy having a neutral expression. Finally, Rumble gave a long, defeated sigh, and looked at the boy. “Fine, you escape. Me and Button will get him ourselves. Once we all get out, I don’t think we can be friends with you. It sounds like you’d rather sacrifice your friends for your own safety. So I guess this is where we part ways.” Without another word, Rumble got up and started to walk into the dark, foreboding woods. “You coming Button?” Rumble asked, turning his head. Button looked at the boy, then back to Rumble. He shook his head in confirmation, standing up and following Rumble. Without another word, they both took off into the woods, engulfed by the darkness completely. The boy stared at where the two had disappeared. He looked up at the meat hook. He could clearly see dried blood and bits of flesh on it. His stomach felt sick at the thought of being hung up from there and feeling the pain shoot through the whole body. He knew it wasn’t right, but he thought that by being by himself, he would be less of a target, and would survive and get out. So in a way, he used all of his friends as bait. “Better use that to my advantage.” He stood up, and made his way through the maze of broken brick pillars. He made sure to make small, quiet steps, to make less noise and be aware of his surroundings, in case someone snuck up on him. He spotted many more hooks, several pallets of wood standing up and propped against other objects, a giant metal door, severa- “Wait,” he examined the door closely, “that’s probably the way out! But how do I open it?” He looked around, looking for a button or lever to open it. He glanced on the left side of the door and found a large switch. He approached it and was about to grab it, when a slip of paper suddenly flapped in the cold wind on the top left corner of the switch panel. He took the note off the panel and read it. “To whomever find this note, please know that this door must be opened via fixing five generators. Me and four others were working on them, being hunted down by the three killers, when they stopped chasing us and noticed someone entering. They took off and left us alone for a bit, giving us time to get some generators fixed. The closest one was so close to being done, but then we were chased off. If you have found this note, please go fix this generator quickly, as we are on the other four. You will know when it is fixed when the floodlight on top turns on. It’s very bright, so you can see when we are done fixing our generators, and we will see yours. When all five generators are done, a loud sound will be heard, and that means the doors are ready to be opened. Don’t ask how we know, just do as we have asked. –M.T” The boy dropped the note and looked to the left, finally spotting the generator mentioned in the note. The pistons on top were in different positions, indicating that it was recently being fixed. He crouched down, and saw some different hires out of place. He reached in and started to match and put together the wires. He only put 7 wires together and the floodlight flashed on. The generator produced a steady sound and the pistons moved quickly. He looked out into the distance, and saw four different lights show up. A loud blare sounded and a red light flickered on above the switch. He rushed back to the panel and pulled down the switch. Large clanging sounds were emitted and the door slowly began to open. He held the switch, looking behind him once in a while. He heard the dreaded cowbell and a chainsaw revving up from the distance. He pushed down on the switch harder, hoping it would make the door open quicker. Finally, it was open. He let go of the switch and looked out into the distant woods. He could see CHS from the distance, and several houses with their lights on. He felt free, he was going to live and go home. He started to walk quickly towards the city of Canterlot. He smiled. He was free. His happiness disappeared entirely when he heard the same chainsaw revving up not too far away. He looked back and saw a severely disfigured person with a large hammer and chainsaw, both held up high above his head. He turned and started to run. He was so close to freedom, and he wasn’t going to let them get him. He looked back once more and became horrified when he saw the disfigured man quickly charge at him, chainsaw in front of him, loudly revving. He tripped and stumbled, trying not to fall down and keep running. But he was way too slow, because the killer caught up and struck him. He felt the chainsaw make a deep, bloody gash on his back, forcing him to fall forward and scream in pain. He started to crawl, despite the pain shooting all over his back. But it was no use, as he was picked up and placed on his shoulder. He started to feel dizzy and he felt his blood trickle down his back. Hje looked at the open door, seeing all the houses and the school becoming farther and farther. Then he saw his three friends pop out from the darkness. Button was holding up a weak and bloody Featherweight, with Rumble holding a red medkit. All three looked at the boy on the killer’s shoulder, being taken away. All three turned and made their way out, escaping without him. He closed his eyes and stopped struggling. There was no point trying to escape now. He had used his friends as bait and was now going to pay the price for it. He let a few tears drop, accepting that he was going to die, and that he fully deserved it. “I’m sorry, mom…” he weakly said, slowly losing consciousness. He was finally impaled by the spider-like appendages. The Entity reached out and took the boy's soul, lifting it up to play its sick game for all eternity. All three killers stared up, watching the soul be accepted by the Entity. The Trapper was the first one to stop looking, turned around and started to walk towards the open door. He walked past the shack, past different generators, and stopped at the door. He waited for the other two to stand beside him. Their practice run had been a success. They got one inhabitant of this realm sacrificed, and they could wander around and find what the Entity needed. The other two finally appeared on each side of the Trapper. All three looked at each other, understanding what they were here for. The Trapper looked down, noticing a closed bear trap. He picked it up, looked at the Wraith and the Hillbilly, and nodded. All three made their way towards the city of Canterlot, to find all fifteen girls that were strongly connected to magic. And they knew who they were: Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy, Sunset Shimmer, Adagio Dazzle, Aria Blaze, Sonata Dusk, Lemon Zest, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, Indigo Zap, Sour Sweet, and Twilight Sparkle. These girls were all connected to magic, and needed for the Entity. And that's what these killers were here for. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Sugarcube Corner Café had a strange schedule. One would think that during the weekends it would be filled with customers having sweets, being if friends or catching up on whatever work they had to get done. The truth was, it was actually the two most slowest days of the week. A possible reason for the café to be so slow was probably because of the many different sales at different stores, and new arrivals of products finally hitting the shelves. There was even sales of online games, forcing avid gamers stay home and wait for a specific game to be on sale. That didn't stop Mr. and Mrs. Cake from opening the shop doors. They honestly didn't mind it being quiet and slow. In fact, they embraced it. A whole day of catching up on work, maintaining the cafe, taking care of the twins and enjoying their time together. Pinkie Pie also liked it when it was slow and quiet. That meant she and her friends could hang out longer and have free milkshakes and sweets, which would never be allowed on a weekday. When she first asked to do so, she was strictly told that they were products that made them money, which kept the business running. Taking some for free would make them lose money, and that was needed to take care of the shop and themselves. Pinkie was a bit heartbroken, since she really wanted to have a cold milkshake with her friends. But when she asked if she could take out some for free on the weekends, they reluctantly agreed. 3 years later, and they always had a tray set up for Pinkie and her six friends. Pinkie always thanked them and hugged them, grateful that she could share sweets with her friends. It was moments like those that Mr. and Mrs. Cake looked forward to on weekends. Seeing their somewhat daughter-like employee face smile brightly and receiving a hug from her. It truly was a heartwarming moment. ... But that didn't matter right now. What really mattered was that Pinkie was searching for the her phone, so she could go on that Pokémon GO walk she and her friends had planned recently. While her friends just wanted to test out the app, she wanted to literally catch them all. Hence why she dressed exactly like a Pokémon trainer. And why she was searching desperately searching for her phone. "Come on! Come on! Where is my phone! Of all the times it could get lost, why must it be now?!" Pinkie screamed as she frantically threw dirty laundry all over her room, "If I don't find my phone, I'll never get to catch a single Pokémon and I won't be the best trainer!" She fell onto her knees and started to ball her eyes out. "Please just give me my phone!" BZZZ! BZZZ! Pinkie immediately stopped crying and reached into her pocket, revealing that her phone was in her pocket the whole time. She slapped her forehead and unlocked her phone. It was a text from Rainbow Dash. 'Hey Pinkie, when ur done crying, come down so we can get going' She giggled, pocketed her phone and literally bounced her way downstairs, through the kitchen and out into where her 6 friends were waiting. They all looked at her and each had a face of surprise. In all honesty, I would be surprised to if a friend of mine just came out, completely decked out in a Pokémon trainer outfit, when all we were really going to do was just try it out the new Pokémon GO app for about a day or two. "Uh, Pinkie? Why are dressed like that?" Rainbow asked. She already knew the answer, and asking her was really redundant. But she knew that the others didn't know, so she asked Pinkie to clarify for her. Why? Because she's awesome like that. "Duh, so I can be the best Pokémon trainer in Canterlot! I will catch every Pokémon I see, and I might be famous for it!" Pinkie explained, finishing it off with a smile and a squee. All but Twilight just simply rolled their eyes and pulled out their phones. Pinkie was just about to pull out hers, when she had a sudden feeling. At first she thought it was her Pinkie Sense acting up. But this was different. She suddenly felt a bit fearful, nauseous and had a mild headache. She looked out the window and saw the Everfree Forest. Her combination of feelings intensified. She instantly backed up a bit and her hair deflated, but not enough for it to be noticeable. Sweat immediately started dripping down her forehead. Her knees felt weak and she felt like she would collapse right then and there. "...go, Pinkie. Pinkie, hey!" Pinkie immediately snapped out of her trance. All of the feelings she recently had were all gone and she noticed that the café was brighter. She shook her head a bit and looked towards her friends. They were all ready and were at the door, waiting (im)patiently for her. "Sorry, what?" "We're about to go now. Are you coming?" Sunset asked, hand on her hips. "Uh, yeah, yeah. Let's go." she replied, no enthusiasm whatsoever in her voice. "Pinkie, dear. Is everything all right? You seem so, what's the word?" "Un-hyper?" Fluttershy asked, voice barely audible. "I was going to use out-of-it, but that works as well." said Rarity. "It's fine girls. Just felt a little weird for a second, but no biggie. Let's go catch some Pokémon!" said Pinkie, putting on a fake smile. She quickly walked out of the store and crossed the street. As she crossed, she wondered what those feelings meant. She never felt sick or scared when her Pinkie Senses were in action, so obviously something very horrible either was going to happen, or already happened. "Pinkie, could ya please wait up? We ain't as fast as ya!" Applejack called out. Pinkie stopped and turned around. She was already a block and a half away from Sugarcube Corner. She assumed she must have gone faster when she got lost in her thoughts. All 6 girls had finally caught up, each having a face of concern. Pinkie weakly smiled and unclenched her fists that formed by themselves. "Heh, sorry about that girls. Got lost in thought." "Pinkie, you alright? You're acting different." Sunset asked her. "Oh, nothing. Um, can I talk to you Sunset?" "Sure thing! You girls go on up ahead, we'll catch up." The remaining five girls nodded and continued to walk on, phones out and app running. Sunset turned and faced Pinkie, who seemed a bit sad, which was really confusing since she was extremely hyper not to long ago. But Sunset had an idea of what could've caused her to become sad looking. "So, you felt it too, right?" Pinkie's eyes had widened, completely surprised that Sunset had guessed what was bothering her, and that she felt the same feeling. She stammered, not sure how to answer. "Explains why you were staring outside. Well, I guess I can worry about this with you." "What exactly should we worry about? And what did we feel?" Sunset looked down, as if trying to do a really hard task in her head. After a few seconds she looked back up and started to explain. "What we felt was our magic, the Magic of Friendship, detecting something, something that is way stronger than the Friendship of Magic. Why it does that is a complex thing, so I'll explain it in a way you can understand; imagine our magic as like a colourful, free-flowing thing that protects us and this realm. It is always looking for anything that may want to break through and cause chaos. But something are stronger than the Magic of Friendship, so it alerts the Elements of Harmony, which for this realm is us, of the stronger force. It can't stop it, so it warns us via the feeling we just had. When I saw you staring out the window, I could tell that you were either seeing it enter from far away, or seeing it do something from far away." "But what about the Battle of the Bands, or the Friendship Games, and why hasn't it gone to the others?" "Those two events were different. The sirens were purposely brought here via somepony making a hole in with the Magic of Freindship, therefore making the Magic think that it was a harmless thing, and the Friendship Games was just Twilight trying absorbing it into the device. As for why the others haven't felt it? It takes time for the Magic to alert the others." Pinkie nodded. She now knew what the feeling meant. But that was one thing out of the way, she needed to tell Sunset something important. "Do you think this thing the Magic warned us of can hurt others?" Pinkie nervously asked. She hoped it wouldn't. Because if it did, than what she saw going into the forest would be hurt. "I think so, why?" Pinkie's fear was now true. It was over for them. And there was nothing she could've done. "When I looked toward the Everfree Forest, I had a feeling that something very bad was going to happen. That something, or someone, would either hurt, or worse, kill someone. And I was right." Sunset gasped, becoming fearful herself now. "Did you see anyone going towards there? Pinkie nodded her head. Her hair had fully deflated and tears started to come out. "I did. I saw four boys go right towards it." Author's Note Apologies if it seems rushed. Just had to get this idea out of my head and onto this site. //-------------------------------------------------------// News regarding story //-------------------------------------------------------// News regarding story To find out why this is on haitus, refer to my most recent blog.
