It was the same as every day before. I wake up from my slumber with a tired and slightly annoyed face as my alarm
clock assaulted my ear drums with his constant beeping over and over. Beep, Beep Beep. Even though the thought
of smashing it to bits were very enticing as always. I never did as the fateful, immobile companion always did it's job
of keeping me from Slumber village if I wanted it or not.
That would be the case if it had not been for the fact that my alarm clock had bucked up hard because sitting there
like it just just took a shit on my day and was smiling about it was the number one pm on the screen. As soon as I
read that and double taking a few times I immediately dropped the clock and ran out the room.
I galloped as hard as I could around the small apartment which I resided in. My cereal devoured, my coat showered
and my teeth brushed. As I opened my door I chucked my old, black, wool cap onto my worried noggin and left my
home.
I didn't have time to look at the bustling streets and happy faces as I galloped passed them. the occasional "hey!" or
"Watch where you're going!" followed by me apologizing felt that even that small spit of words was just enough to
me to socialize for an entire year. That small amount of interaction made me feel as if I had known them all my life.
As I raced passed more ponies I only gazed apon my destination. A small shop, a butcher's in fact. Now some
may be wondering why a butcher's is in the capital of a bunch herbivores but then you realize that some immigrants
are carnivores and need meat to survive. as soon as no one noticed I slipped into the ally way beside the shop and
entered through the back door.
From what I had seen here before as a bloody mess was now a very clean business and workplace. at the counter
were the owners, brothers If I recall. one was standing there with a blank expression chopping meat and putting the
raw flesh into a small plastic bag, his skinny frame almost like a twig. This was cable, the younger brother of the two.
The way he never really talked to anyone except his kin was a little unsettling but he never caused harm and was
respected by pretty much every pony.
The other one, Caboose, stood as his total opposite. He was large, chubby and made their diamond dog heritage proud,
his figure overpowering any who walked through that door. the female he was bargaining with had taken her
order and walked out the door. As soon as the two noticed me, Cable gave a little wave and Caboose ran over to give
me a spine shattering hug, ow.
"HEY!, it's good to see you friend" he said with his thick saddle Arabian accent as his tail wagged with compassion.
"How have you been"?
"P-pretty g-good" I replied, recovering from his embrace." H-how have you been Caboose"?.
he looked at me with joy in his eyes as he spoke." Business is booming my friend!, everything is going well here in this
land of opportunity!" he was almost jumping up and down with how excited he was.
"well, that's good to hear man" I congratulated him with a smile on my face." Hey, do you want to hang out after the
meeting"? I asked.
his mile wide smile became even bigger when I asked."YES friend!, we'll have great time together. we'll get drunk,
gamble and enjoy the fake equestrian titties"! he turned to look at his brother." Right brother"?
Cable looked up to the two of us and nodded." Yes brother, that's sounds lovely".
As I walked up to the secret door near the meat locker I could still hear Caboose yapping, I mean I like the guy but
sometimes if you let him, he could talk for days straight.
" Remember my friend, glorious, fake TITTIES"! he shouted.
I opened the door to see a bunch of guys, a lot of them equine but some zebra and griffins were there as well. They sat on
wooden crates with a large oak table in the middle of them. Some were playing cards while others talked business. But the
one at the top of the table was the stallion I was about to meet. the Don. When he noticed me, he beckoned me over
and I obliged faster then a second.
"I'm very sorry about being late sir!" I sputtered frantically. "My alarm clock bucked up real bad and...".
The Don raised his hoof in a forgiving manor which calmed me down." No worries kid mistakes happen, now sit down"
he asked without really opening his mouth but was still understandable." Let's talk business".
I sat down beside him as he started." Now as you might of known, some small crooks have been moving in to the city
from Manehatten" he began." Now this is good as we can get more into our ranks but..." he stopped for a second trying to
the pony he was talking about." One of them I don't trust so I want him whacked, do you think you could do this for me"?
Before I could answer his question, we all heard the door be kicked opened. A pony could be seen holding a Tommy gun.
"Hola, amigos!" he shouted in a thick hisponic accent as he opened fire onto all of us.
Many of the guys in the room were killed instantly, some riddled with bullets while others had their brains paint the wall.
In short, it was a bloodbath. The Don managed to leave the room through a small passage. I however, did not.
As soon as it started, it stopped and I was left bleeding out. I heard hoof steps coming closer but was too weak
to do anything as the mad pony stood next to me.
the last thing I remember before I took an everlasting rest was the stallion that shot me. His tanned yellow coat was
almost the colour of puke. He wore a long brown jacket which reached his knees. His brown eyes looked into mine
and his black mustache and mane were unkempt and dirty looking. The last thing I saw before closing my eyes
were him taking my wool cap and putting it on to his head. The last thing I heard before going to sleep was his voice.
"Thanks for the hat, amigo".
