The Escape

As a young mare slowly awoke from her slumber she heard the voice of somepony she recognised calling out to her, so when her vision steadied she noticed that there was a blurry pony sitting in front of her. When her vision fully came back though she began to panic.

" Lavender, Lavender please calm down." said the pony before her.

" HOW CAN I?!" she shout at him," WE'RE IN A CELL, THE SAME ONE WHERE PEGASI GO BEFORE BEING BRANDED A DASHITE!!"

" I know it looks bad, but I know we can make it through this."

" HOW DAD?!" she shouted again," ONCE WE GET BRANDED WE WOULD GET THROWN INTO THE WASTELAND WHERE THERE ARE RAIDERS, GHOULS, RADIGATORS, AND MANY MORE DANGEROUS THINGS!!" Lavender began bawling her eyes out to no end, being branded a dashite was the worse thing possible to her, especially when she did not know what she did. Her father is a black furred pegasus with a white mane, and tail, as well as violet eyes. This stallion is named Shadow Star, a retired officer who has been in service for 40 years since he was 15, Shadow Star had once earned a medal of honor, but his loyalty was still questioned. Shadow Star tried his best in comforting his youngest daughter.

" I know, but I'll be damned if I let them brand my daughter." replied Shadow Star," and I also have a plan, but I need you to calm down first."

" *sniff* O-okay dad, but *sniff* h-how will we get out." Lavender sniffled and stuttered.

" Easy, we have an insider helping us out." He whispered.

" Wah-who is it?!" She asked.

" SSHHH, not so loud, but I can't tell you, or else we might put them in danger as well." He whispered again.

" W-wait, why are we being branded a dashite?" Lavender asked.

" A couple days ago your older brother escaped and fled for the Wasteland, the Enclave believe we helped him escape."

" Why?" asked the enclave doctor.

" They know you love your brother the most, ever since your mother died he took care of you the most, me, they still question my loyalty to the Enclave." replied the retired officer," now let's get out of here." With that Shadow Star pulled out a key from his mane, and opened the door to the cell after some failed attempts.

" I-I need to get to my lab, there may be some useful chems there."

" Alright, but stay close."

As both father and daughter made their way to their home they were shocked to see the entire perimeter of their home surrounded by Enclave officers.

" How will we get in now?" whispered Lavender.

" Simple, follow me." Was all Shadow Star said. So Lavender followed her father to an entrance to what looks to be a cellar.

" What is this?" asked Lavender.

" It's a cellar that leads to the house."

" Why did I not know this?" asked Lavender.

" U-um, how would you react if I told you this leads to your lab, and every room in the house?" the father replied sheepishly.

" WHA-?!"

" SSHHH!!" Shadow Star shushed.

" Why would you build this?!" Lavender whispered in a furious tone, while pointing at the cellar door.

" I built this just in case of emergencies."

" It feels more like an invasion of privacy!"

" C'mon, let's get going we're losing time." As they went down into the cellar Lavender noticed a shine in a dark corner of the cellar.

" Hey what's that?" asked the intrigued young mare.

" Oh, I was wondering where I left that." replied Shadow Star as he pulled out a Gauss Rifle, as well as some rounds for the rifle.

" I thought I said no weapons in the house dad!?"

" I know, but it's a good thing I stashed a load of hidden weapons in the house."

" Wha-! I can not believe this, you promised no weapons, dad!"

" A-anyway, the faster we do this, the faster we can get out of here." said Shadow Star as he got a battle saddle on.

Making their way through the cellar hall ways the two finally came upon the entrance to Lavender's lab. Once in the lab Lavender looked around a few cabinets until she came upon what she was looking for.

" Ok here, this is it, some healing potions, radaway, Med-X, and this." said Lavender as she pulled out a small vial of a strange liquid.

" What is that?"

" It's a small amount of Hydra, I was able to make a small amount of it after one of the expeditions I was on."

" Wouldn't you need Hydra venom?" asked the now curious father," Hydras are very dangerous, how did you get the venom?"

" I didn't go near one, one of our soldier was able to escape a Hydra, but was poisoned, so I was able to extract a fair amount of poison from him, and made an antivenom for him, and I had some venom left over, so I attempted at making a chem that the Wastelanders call Hydra."

" And it works?" questioned Shadow Star, he was very cautious of the vial, he may be confident in his daughter's skill, but all chems have a side effect.

" Yes, it is amazing, the rate of which it can heal a ponies flesh, and bones are amazing!" exclaimed Lavender with stars in her eyes.

" Wait, you tested this on a pony?"

" Yes, but they were seriously wounded, so I had no choice, but that was when I found the side effect to my version."

" Side effect?" Shadow Star repeated with a raised eyebrow.

" The side effect is that it shortens a pony's life span depending on how serious the injury."

" So if a pony was close the death then their life span would be shortened by a large amount?" Lavender nodded her head, then drop it in shame.

" It's alright Lavender, is this all?" Again Lavender nodded," then let's get the hell out of here."

Making their way back through the cellar, They now stand at the edge of New Pegasopolis. Just as they were about to leave they heard shouts coming from behind them.

" Oh no, dad, we need to jump now!"

" No, you go ahead I'll hold them off for as long as I can."

" No, I'm not leaving you behind!"

" If we both go they'll catch both of us in no time, I'm sorry, but your still young, and you have your whole life ahead of you!" see his daughters saddened face he turned to his daughter," I know it's a lot to ask, but let me doing something right for once."

" B-but if you do this *sniff* th-they'll execute you for sure!"

" I know, but you need to trust me, Lavender." Lavender nodded slowly with tears streaming from her eyes.

" *sniff* O-okay, but you'll need this more than I will." Lavender replied as she passed the small vial to her father.

" Thank you." was all Shadow Star said as he hugged his daughter for possibly the last time," Now go, go to the Wasteland, and find your brother!" Shadow Star shouted as threw his daughter over the side. He then turned back towards his pursuers.

" Shadow Star stand down!" shouted an officer.

" You're a hundred years too young to start ordering me around Thunder Flash," replied Shadow Star," I'll never let you pass me without a fight!" And with those words he started charging up his Custom Gauss Rifle.

" Shit!"

" What's wrong sir?" asked another officer.

" Everypony get back, NOW!!"

Lavender Rose was descending faster and faster as she fell from her home, she started to increase her speed as she heard the sound of an explosion from above. Resisting the urge to turn around she flew faster than she ever had before, as she flew she saw broken buildings, and burnt trees on the ground. Lavender flew for what seemed like hours, so when she started to tire she needed to land, and soon. When she felt that she was in the clear she attempted to slow herself, but quickly realized she was going too fast to stop.

" Nonononono," She repeated furiously flapping her wings to try and slow herself, but she was starting to get closer and closer to the ground, that was when she saw somepony lying on the ground and she was dangerously close to crashing into whoever it is," Watch ooouutt," she cried, still on her collision course towards the pony, the speed of which she is flying preventing her from changing directions.

" Wha-?"

" *CRASH*"

Then there was darkness.

Welp, that's the prologue, I'd appreciate some constructive criticism. Also I spent a whole hour trying to find a name for Lavender's father. XD
