The Camera
The air has cooled down throughout the desert around the city of Las Pegasus as all clocks turn nine o'clock at night, on the lonely outskirts of Las Pegasus rests a small bar known as The Grey Horse, a nice little slice of home away from the city for travelers and those down on their luck. However on this night, trotting inside of The Grey Horse, swinging through the old fashioned double doors of the establishment, is a small mare with skull piercings in her fluffy tipped ears and a short white unkempt mane, despite her tomboyish mane cut she saunters with a womanly sway of her flanks no doubt catching the attention of any stallion willing to look in her general direction.
The mare flashes her driver’s license quickly towards the bartender, “Give me some Rum and make it good handsome.” she says.
The bartender looks at the ID quickly glancing over to spot her name Snow Drift along with the mare’s age, twenty-one. Although when squinting back towards the mare she grins confidently towards the barkeep, knowing full well that her fake ID only says twenty-one, but she’s actually only eighteen years old and that she paid good money for that Fake ID. The stallion behind the counter shrugs reaching for a bottle of rum to pour for the small bat pony mare turning her head around to glance along the bar.
Snow Drift wears a collar around her neck with a silver heart-shaped tag hanging from the collar with a short white tank top under a short black leather jacket that shows her midriff and a pair of black fingerless driver gloves. Her waist clad in black tight hot pants with a skull buckle keeping the belt together around her luscious hips, up to the mare’s thighs is a pair of white and black striped socks along with a pair of big black boots rising up to her knees. Compared to most of the other bar patrons Snow Drift’s clothing could only be described as provocative, revealing and tight for a small punk like herself. However, in terms of a body she is has a lean slender appearance with small B-cup breasts although she doesn’t try to hide any of her body to anyone looking.
Unknown to most patrons with the exception of the barkeep, The Grey Horse has become Snow Drift’s hunting ground for stallions, trying to find someone that she’ll let sleep with her tonight to let off steam or simply have some good old fashioned fun. Good thing she brings condoms all the time. The mare takes a glance around the bar letting herself inhale the scent of misery and relaxation, There’s six round tables with five chairs each, two pool tables, two foosball tables, a jukebox playing some country song that causes the small mare to cringe just from paying attention to the song, a Prance Prance Revolution dance pad with pinball machine next to it, and a small TV behind the bar sitting on a stool showing off a hoofball game.
Snow Drift’s lustful gaze scans throughout the old fashioned bar looking over the many stallions and mares occupying The Grey Horse. A burly earth pony stallion with a purple coat and violet mane. Next to him is a lanky earth pony mare with a light purple coat and a dark purple mane standing by a billiards table catches Snow Drift’s attention keeping track of the two as possible matches for a fun night back at their place if she plays her cards right. They’re joined by another earth pony stallion with a brown coat and blonde mane, wearing a yellow bandana around his neck and a stetson hat atop his head. He looks like a friend of the couple, playing a few games together at the billiards table. Also, there’s a unicorn stallion wearing a red t-shirt and a red baseball cap with Las Pegasus stitched in white on the front, flirting up with a cute pegasus mare at his side no doubt trying to get into her pants. The bartender is an earth pony stallion with a black mane slicked back keeping watch over his establishment, especially Snow Drift, which catches his attention due to her frequent visits already knowing what she will do tonight.
Snow Drift absolutely loves big stallions with meat on their bones, bonus points for any strong muscular types that could pick a small mare like herself up like she was nothing but a feather as her lustful gaze dart towards the burly stallion with thick arms covered in brown fur, spotting a chiseled chest under his sweatshirt bringing a gleeful smirk to her muzzle. Snow Drift likes what she sees, but trying to convince his girlfriend to join in will be a little difficult than she imagines. So instead she turns her gaze elsewhere to the nearest stud that catches her attention.
Snow Drift’s gaze stops at a rather large griffon male with a snow white feathers and small patches of cyan. Just with a simple look, the griffon is definitely a stud with rippling muscles through his simple white shirt and blue jeans, sitting with some bat pony mare, although managing to be slightly taller than Snow Drift, she has a pink unkempt mane wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans matching her eyes. Snow is not picky on the species of her men so as long as he’s a big, strong guy with some meat on his bones, then that’s all she needs to care, at least physically. Although sometimes it’s fun to hit on the occasional nerd depends on how she wants to get her rocks off on any given night. Since the griffon is sitting opposite of the mare, there’s a chance she may be a mere friend or something, but sitting around and simply watching isn’t going do her much good.
Snow Drift stands up from the bar stool, taking her drink along with her and sauntering with a flicker of her hips towards the to the table. Snow flashes a smirk standing beside the table glancing at both the griffon and bat pony trying to butt in their conversation, “Hey guys, mind if I join you for tonight?”
"Sure,” the white griffon answers with a gentle nod patting his large talon on the table with a friendly smile, “Plenty of room, I don’t mind an extra body at our table."
“Sure! Take a seat anywhere you like!” The pink maned bat pony answers with glee flashing a huge grin of her own, immediately introducing herself, “My name is Amethyst, what is yours?” The mare questions with her fluffy tipped ears perked up in curiosity.
“Snow Drift.” she answers, “What about the big guy?” she asks, with her attention mostly turned towards the griffon, unable to stop herself from looking over the big griffon’s toned body, no doubt her mind already is churning with perverse thoughts towards a single night spent with a guy like him.
“Ardigus.” the white griffon answers, although he is mostly quiet in nature it seems just from his mannerisms. Snow believes he might be an introvert or the big, strong, silent type.
Eagerly, Snow Drift takes her seat at the table with the two strangers, swishing her white tail back and forth as the mare’s eyes practically undressing Ardigus ready to get into his pants ,but first, she must check on these two’s relationship just in case.
"So what is a big griffon like yourself doing around here?” Snow asks in a saucy tone of her voice unable to keep her tail from swaying back and forth in her chair if Ardigus even bothered to look, Immediately her gaze turns towards Amethyst, “You the bat's girlfriend?” Snow questions the griffon curiously wanting to make sure she wasn’t stepping on anyone hooves.
"Oh no she isn’t. We just met a little while ago. I just came here alone to do some relaxing." Ardigus says plainly.
“Kind of funny you thought that, though.” Amethyst laughs off Snow Drift’s question, taking another sip of her drink, “I’m just here to blow off some steam with a few drinks and we happen to sit at the same table to chat.”
“Relax?” within Snow Drift’s mind the gears of lust begin to turn now, free reign to hit on Ardigus without letting Amethyst trying to take him first, “I'm here to relax too. Maybe you could use some of my company?" The small mare says, grinning and batting her eyelashes at Ardigus, hoping to get his attention with her womanly charms.
“The more the merrier is what I say!” The griffon says with a smile, leaning back in his chair with his eyes seemly glancing throughout the bar while Amethyst simply enjoys her drink, watching Snow and Ardigus chatting.
"Well handsome,” Snow says, “let us see where our drinks lead us, eh? After all it would be easy for a big strong guy to take advantage of a little mare such as myself when she’s drunk, don’t you agree?" she scoots her chair closer to Ardigus unable to stop swishing her tail, cooing towards the griffon with half-lidded eyes, batting her eyelashes towards the white griffon showing her interest rather boldly.
“I do agree, you should be careful Snow Drift. Drink in moderation so you can stay safe and aware there are dangerous ponies out there willing to take advantage of you if you aren’t careful.” Ardigus warns, picking up his mug to guzzle down his alcohol as Snow’s advances simply fly over the griffon’s head not even the least reactive towards the mare hitting on him.
Snow deadpans for a few moments blinking rapidly in disbelief at the large griffon failing to see her sexually suggestive suggestion! Every stallion she’s slept with got that hint or even fired back with interest but with Ardigus, it simply flies right over his head leaving her shocked and confused while Ardigus simply drinks from his mug.
“Hey!” the burly stallion shouts from the other side of the bar next to the billiards table with his girl at his side along with the other lanky earth pony stallion with a cue in hand, “Want to play a game of pool with us? Losers have to buy drinks for the winners, want in?”
“Yeah, sounds fun!” Snow Drift says with a grin, getting up from her seat and turning towards Ardigus and Amethyst feeling excited just from the sheer notion of a fun little bet, “We’ll show them, right guys?””
“Nah,” Ardigus declines, shaking his head, seemly not interested in the prospect of a fun little game, “You go on ahead.”
"What?!" Snow Drift shouts, raising her eyebrow seemly puzzled at the griffon’s words, “Come on, it’ll be fun! Let’s go play!”
“No thanks.” he persists, much to Snow Drift’s disbelief the big strong griffon doesn’t feel interested in participating in a little billiards game “I only have so many bits and I’m not paying double. I’m not risking it.” The white griffon’s feathers ruffle slightly taking another big chug of his drink.
“Yeah, we’ll just lose anyways.” Amethyst adds solemnly, lacking any confidence in her words.
"Seriously!?” Snow Drift is taken back by these two stranger’s statements slamming both of her hands onto the table, ”Don't be a bunch of pussies, It’s just a simple little game let's have some fun!"
“Sorry, not interested.” says Ardigus.
“It’s a three on three match.” says the blonde earth pony stallion in the stetson hat, chiming in on their conversation, “It’s all of you or none of you. No point in playing with a full team against one person. Kind of defeats the purpose.”
"Come on you jackasses!” Snow Drift shouts, clearly very annoyed and frustrated with the two strangers. The white-maned mare cannot stand hanging out with a bunch of strangers that have no interest in playing a simple betting game. It’s not like they will be poor, even if they lose. Most of the ponies in The Grey Horse, including Snow Drift, are down on their luck being poor or gambled their money away in Las Pegasus, but compared to the slot machines or the poker tables, a simple billiards game for drinks shouldn’t be too risky, “Come on! Have some fun and live a little!" Any interest the mare had in the griffon is quickly taken away in this short exchange including the pink maned bat pony sitting next to him.
Amethyst rolls her eyes and sighs openly, but seemly goaded on by Snow Drift who is reaching the point of yelling at her so called Team Mates, “Fine, I’ll play.” the mare sits up from the table trotting over to the billiards table, but she isn’t exactly happy about it.
Ardigus stands up, sighing alongside with Amethyst, “Fine,“ he says, “but I’m not paying for their drinks.”
“No Risk, no reward, if you don’t ante up, you get no drinks when we win got that?” Snow Drift scoffs back at the griffon, simply happy that he is joining in their little team, but the small mare doesn’t have to like the big griffon.
“Not that it matters.” Ardigus says offhandedly in a defeatist attitude that rubs Snow Drift all the wrong ways.
Snow Drift just couldn’t believe these two, giving up immediately without even giving the game a shot or trying, This sort of attitude pisses off Snow Drift the most since she lives for thrills, risks, and excitement. Loving to throw herself face first into a situation to feel the adrenaline pumping through her veins or experiencing a fun game with twists and turns. Even in her favor action movies, the protagonists don’t just give up. Then that would be boring and be a shitty movie, but Snow Drift doesn’t dwell on it so long as both are at least she got them both to be on her team, but with their attitude Snow Drift is going to have to make one hell of an impression in order to win those drinks, “I play to win! So you guys don’t stand a chance against the three of us!”
Snow Drift and her teammates trot up the billiards table, despite her teammates' attitude, Snow believes that they will win this little game. The burly stallion hands her a cue, giving the mare a confident smile. “Since we issued the challenge,” he says, “you should go first little lady.”
The balls are set up in position by the blonde stallion in the stetson hat, stepping aside to let the small mare take her shot in their little game of small steaks. Snow Drift smirks trotting to the end of billiards table leaning forward to take her first shot, although the mare isn’t content with just taking a shot, Snow Drift shows off her flanks swaying her hips from side to side that seemly catches the purple burly earth pony off guard along with his obvious glances towards her. If Snow Drift was going to lose because of her team might as well make an impression towards the next stud on her list.
Snow Drift lines up her shot, flicking her wrist rapidly forward cracking open the balls formation in a pinball-like fashion. The balls bounce across the billiards until she succeeds in sinking three solids in a single shot. The small mare smirks confidently, although the burly stallion’s girlfriend doesn’t seem too amused with her, especially noticing the glances towards her ample flanks which the lanky mare doesn’t seem too amused about.
“Not bad,” says the purple stallion, “I guess we are stripes then.” he nods towards Snow Drift, taking the cue away from her to take a shot himself, only for him to get a single stripe ball. With a shrug, he passes it to Ardigus.
Ardigus lays his claws upon the cue to take his shot but without putting in much effort, he simply hits a few balls unable to sink anything for his turn. Although he is trying, it doesn’t seem like his heart and soul is into the game.
Ardigus passes the cue to lanky light purple mare standing next to her boyfriend, shooting a glare of contempt towards Snow Drift before taking her spot and lining up her own shot only to miss the ball she was aiming for, distracted by her own contempt for her stallion with a sigh she passes the cue to Amethyst.
The pink haired bat pony doesn’t seem too excited to be playing but she gives it her best lining up a shot and managing to sink another solid no doubt being back and forth between both teams.
Finally the cue is passed to the blonde earth pony stallion being the last shoot but for a good reason. Tilting his stetson hat, he takes aim at the billiards table with a glint in his eyes, he gives a flick of his own wrist, hitting the ball hard letting it bounce off the corners only to strike in the last two stripes on the table, leaving only the Eightball for their victory.
Snow Drift watched this stallion shoot only then she realizes how good of a shot he was. Impressed the mare smirks but says nothing grabbing the cue and glancing over the billiards table with only a single solid remaining and the Eightball she plans her next move carefully Snow lines up her shot only to prove one thing to these strangers, that Snow Drift was better. Flicking her wrist forward her ball bounces off the corners knocking the last solid into the hole but her ball keeps moving with the momentum from the solid ball only for the eight ball to roll slowly towards the corner hole, With anticipation all the ponies at the tables watching the eight ball closely only for it to fall harmlessly into the pocket and Snow Drift to shoot a confident grin towards her opponents.
“Well shit, that was a nice shot, certainly didn’t see that coming.” says the burly stallion, chuckling. impressed by Snow Drift and drawing the ire from his girlfriend throwing a huff from the batpony’s single handed victory and most valuable player of the game, leaving the lanky light purple mare to trot off towards the jukebox in the far right corner of the bar, clearly frustrated with the small mare that defeated them and making her sweet moves on her boyfriend “That was a good game and a bet is a bet. Let’s head to the bar and get some drinks, I’m buying.”
The night started with fun, games and laughter, all necessary for a good time for many souls who are down on their luck and with a victory under their belts Amethyst seems pleased with the outcome along with Ardigus, but Snow Drift immediately chimes in reminding the big griffon, “Remember, You get nothing cause you bet nothing, Don’t think I didn’t forget!”
The small group of ponies starts trotting towards the bar only to be interrupted by the loud sound of screeching tires coming from the front of the bar, breaking the atmosphere of the bar.
In a matter of seconds a car crashes through the front door of The Grey Horse at full speed, sending one patron flying towards the wall unconscious, followed by debris flying through the air from the hard crash through the entrance. The car comes to a complete stop only for the driver to crash through the windshield flipping onto the hood of the car and sliding down the bumper clutching a hand to his stomach and, strangely enough, in his other hand is a pistol.
“Holy shit!” Snow Drift yells in total surprise taken back by the car crash along with many of the ponies within the bar either screaming from the destruction or the sheer surprise catching everyone in the bar off guard, effectively robbing all the fun, festivity and laughter from everyone within The Grey Horse. To Snow Drift, everything seems to be in slow motion, replaying the scene over and over in her head countless times followed by an eerie silence within The Grey Horse, everyone processing what just happened within their minds with the old fashioned country music still playing in the background despite the crash.
Snow Drift rushes to the car to inspect the driver yelling to him, “Hey buddy! You alright!?” Snow Drift’s eyes glance over the driver, seeing that he is an earth pony stallion with a messy orange mane and yellow fur coat. He’s wearing a denim jacket and white undershirt followed by blue jeans matching his pretty blue eyes that catch the mare off guard.
“H-hey…” the stallion tries to smile clutching his stomach in pain but his eyes stare distantly into Snow Drift’s eyes seeing the concern on her face simply staring at each other for a brief moment.
“Look buddy you are going to be just fine! Just hang on!” she shouts. She isn’t a medic, nor is this her forte only a small amount of first aid she might know offhandedly, but it’s not enough to stabilize the stallion especially when she checks out his wounds with various pieces of glass still stuck all around his body along with cuts, although something catches her by surprise despite his wicked crash she spots what seems to be a bullet wound after moving the stallion’s hand from his stomach. With the amount of blood pooling into his shirt, it’s clear that he was shot before his crash.
The stallion lunges forward grabbing Snow Drift by her jacket “P-please l-listen to me, I don’t have much time left.” his voice shakes blood dribble down his chin from his muzzle although.
Snow Drift refuses to believe this, “No, look buddy you going to make it alright!”
Snow Drift quickly to turns her head towards the bartender, “Don’t just fucking stand there! Call the medics or something!” she yells at him, holding the dying stallion in her arms refusing to believe that this random stranger will just die right there but demanding action from other ponies in the bar, “Just do something!”
The bartender nods his head quickly rushing to the rotary phone behind the counter dialing to call the medics.
Snow Drift turns back towards the dying driver as he struggles to move.
“Take it easy, don’t try to move.” she says, her emotions conflicting with each other within her. Snow Drift usually doesn’t care for other people’s issues, but with a dying stallion in her arms how could she not try to help at all?
Once again, the stallion grabs Snow Drift trying to tell the mare something, “T-they're still after me and t-they'll be here any second now.” the blonde stallion reaches in his coat pocket grabbing an analog camera coated in his own blood pushing it towards Snow Drift trying to make her take it “They want this. Take it and run out the back quick, they will kill you for it.”
The stallion musters all the strength he can within his blue eyes making his case to the small white-maned bat pony. Snow Drift seems hesitant but his voice catches her as he says, “Please, you need to bring the camera to my girlfriend in Cloudy Heights, you know where that is?” the stallion questions with his erratic breathing, trying to hold on with a firm grasp on her leather jacket, but she’s hesitant to do this.
Insistent that he’ll make it out, she tries to shout sense into him, “No, you’re going to make it and you are going to see her again, don’t say shit like that!” Snow Drift says in a panic, trying to keep him from passing onto the next world, but even in her eyes it seems it’s too late for the stallion, especially with the ponies hunting him down will be here any moment leaving her to sigh, “Fine, I know the place.” Snow Drift swipes the camera out of his hand staring deeply into the bloody camera and tucking it away within her leather jacket, not pleased in accepting the stallion’s burden, but strangely Snow Drift feels compelled to grant this stallion his last wish.
The blonde stallion smiles in a daze but quickly he hangs on just a bit longer, “Her name is Open Source. She's in room 211. Give her the camera, she’ll know what to do with it and when you see her, tell her I’m sorry.” The orange-maned stallion grits his teeth briefly as a flash of pain courses through his body, “T-tell her that I love her.” The stallion lifts up his right hand with the gun in his grasp handing off the pistol to Snow Drift “Here take it. It’ll do you more good than me.”
Snow Drift reluctantly grabs the gun checking to see a full clip of ammo already loaded in but, the mare cannot help but be somber while staring at this stranger.
“Now please, run before it’s too late. They’ll not stop hunting anyone that has the camera until they get it back.” he says.
“Don’t worry, I’ll get this to her you can count on that.” Snow Drift says, nodding slowly, staring into the stallion’s blue eyes, watching as life begins to fade away even as the stallion smiles towards her seemly happy that this mare will carry his burden.
"Thanks,” he says, “well, seems like it's time for me to punch out little lady."
Snow Drift watches every moment of the blonde stallion in his arms last moments, his slowing breathing reaches to a halt, his eyes flicker with the last bit of life within until with one slow exhale past his lips. The mysterious stallion leans his head back letting himself pass into the afterlife as his entire body goes limp, his beautiful blue eyes staring off into the distance unresponsive to Snow Drift’s slight shaking of his body.
Snow Drift doesn’t handle her emotions well when it comes to death, if she knew this stallion she would be balling her eyes out in a furious rage. Instead, she stays put with her ears folded down trying to bottle up that oncoming sadness for a random stranger, but the moment passes and she lets a hand slip into his jean pocket pulling out the stallion’s wallet to glance at his driver’s license, “Shutter Speed, rest easy handsome," she tells him, " I’ll fulfill your wish.”
Shutter Speed was the stallion’s name as Snow drift pockets his wallet and taking the time to closes his eyelids, letting him rest in peace.
Silence once again claims the entire bar with only the bad country music playing in the background. The world is at a standstill for a few brief moments witnessing the death of Shutter Speed right before their eyes. Snow Drift stands back up trotting back to the group of ponies near the billiard tables simply watching the events unfold.
“What did he want?” Ardigus being the first to ask with concern in his voice.
Immediately Snow Drift shows off the camera from his jacket not hiding what the stallion wanted, “His last wish was to bring the camera to his girlfriend in Cloudy Heights and he said not to let ‘them’ get it.” she explains.
“Who’s them?” Amethyst asks curiously, then a sudden interruption from the blonde stallion in the stetson hat pointing towards a window.
“Perhaps them.” he says.
Outside of The Grey Horse on the Entrance to the establishment roaring down the highway is a set of headlights from many cars although it’s difficult to tell how many with the glaring of the lights flooding the bar through the windows, heading westbound down the highway and towards the bar. They’ll get to the intersection any moment.
“Oh, sweet Celestia,” Ardigus says to himself, gulping hard unknown of what everyone got themselves into or rather what trouble Shutter Speed brought to the front door of The Grey Horse.
The bartender looks up from his phone call. He hangs up the phone, slamming it back on the hook, then reaching under the counter to pull out a pump action shotgun, “Damnit not again!” he yells, “Well, it’s been a while but I’m not letting them ruin my bar.”
“What’s going on?” Amethyst asks with a stutter in her voice, stuck in disbelief in everything that’s going on in a matter of minutes.
“Look this happens from time to time and I’m going to defend my establishment.” the bartender says with a sigh, checking his ammo reserves making sure he is prepared for a fight.
“Are you serious?!” Ardigus exclaims, putting a hand on his head no doubt getting a headache from this but now worrying about his own life as the ponies hunting down Shutter Speed begin to approach.
“We don’t even know if they’re coming here! let alone to start something!” Amethyst tries to rationalize with the patrons of the bar, trying to look on the hopeful side although when the cars turn off the highway heading straight towards the bar.
“I’m not risking it.” the bartender says, pumping his shotgun ready and taking position behind the counter, “Go in the back, I’ve stashed away a few weapons. If you going to stick around and defend yourselves, then I’ll loan them to you if they start something, but I want them back! So hurry! We don’t get much time”
Amethyst and Ardigus hesitate briefly, only to nod at each other running off to the back room looting the bartender’s place for weapons to defend themselves.
Everyone else stares as the cars come to the front of the bar. They park outside and Snow can hear their doors open and slam.
Then bullets rip through the bar as the shooters fire on full auto.
Everyone is taking cover from the seemly endless strain of bullets. However, the burly stallion’s girlfriend screams in pain from being shot in the shoulder, falling to the floor along with the jukebox being shot up, ending the bad country music playing throughout the bar. Snow and the two stallions next to her from the billard’s game flip the pool table over and take cover while the the bartender ducks under the counter. The stallion in the Las Pegasus cap and the mare he was chatting with immediately flops down to the floor, crawling to the back of the bar towards the bathrooms.
The shoting stop. The bar falls into complete silence. Gunpowder reeks in the air.
Snow then hears a guy shooting orders, “Ok, you two, get in the front and you two, split up and go along the sides! I want this place surrounded!”
“What’s going on out there?” the stetson hat pony whispers to the burly purple stallion who is seemly worried about his girlfriend but Snow Drift doesn’t let him go out and peek.
“Shh, don’t say or do anything stupid.” Snow shushes the stallion, flickering her fluffy tipped ears to try and listen for enemy movements.
“Now listen here you two, don’t fucking try anything and keep your heads down, I’m going to take care of this.” Snow Drift lets out a quiet snarl clearly pissed at these gangsters for ruining her night, but at the same time understanding the burly stallion’s worry. After all his, girlfriend just got shot and fell to the floor over by the jukebox in the far right corner of the bar, however the three behind the billiard table are in the middle of the bar off to the right, unable to reach her currently, but seeing the worry of this stallion’s girlfriend, Snow Drift takes action waiting for her moment to shine and get her vengeance.
Snow listens very closely with her fluffy tipped batpony ears. She hears hoof steps off to the right side of the bar where she and the three stallions are currently hiding behind cover, outside the window.
Mentally Snow Drift prepares herself know that she has an idea where her targets are. The mare pulls out a piece of watermelon flavored bubble gum sticking it into her mouth and already starting to chew as she thinks to herself, 'These fucks kill a guy, try to kill us and then think they can get away with this shit!? How fucking dare they.'
She readies her pistol by racking back the slide checking that she has a bullet loaded in. Clenching her teeth together, the small mare stands up from behind cover seeing the gangster trot into view, unable to see her in time to react as she yells at the top of her lungs, “How fucking dare you ruin my chance of getting hot dick!” The mare yells in unbridled fury taking aim and shooting a shot into the gangster’s chest.
He immediately clutches the wound and hollers out in pain staring back at the crazy mare with a gun in her hand. The gangster seems values his own life because he starts to hobble as fast as he can back to the front of the bar.
Snow rushes to the window taking cover immediately as adrenaline pumps through her body. This isn’t new to the mare, risking herself for the thrills for pure excitement. As she takes cover, her eyes glance outside only to be shot at by another gangster. Luckily for her, she manages to not get hit as a new stallion trots up to replaced the injured gangster’s place, fumbling quickly to reload.
She doesn’t let him reload, though, as she jumps out of cover aiming down the sights with her pistol pulling the trigger, planting a bullet right between the eyes, causing the stallion fumble backwards. The Injured stallion watches this with terror in his eyes attempting to run faster out of sheer will to live.
Snow makes her way the the front taking cover along the way, making sure to use the walls to protect herself as she gracefully moves up with a snarl on her muzzle.
Snow Drift reaches the lanky light purple mare near the jukebox, no doubt keeping the gangsters from finding her on the floor with the white-maned bat pony distracting the gangster's attention with her forward push only to peek.
The mare’s ears twitch from hearing a gunshot coming from behind her in the far left corner of the bar. Although she hasn’t kept track on Amethyst and Ardigus, out of the corner of her eye, Snow Drift sees Amethyst making a shooting a gangster, killing him while Ardigus seems to hide within the back room peeping out quietly. The mare shakes her head turning her attention back to her front hoping those two will handle the back otherwise it could be real trouble for all of them.
Snow Drift’s ears perk up again once an enemy shows himself, getting ready to fire towards the mare with a hail of bullets to blow the small mare away although, the gangster’s guns suddenly jam. Snow Drift smirks at her luck.
Taking aim, she takes the first shot towards the stallion’s hands to disarm him. His guns fly out of his hands. He staggers the stallion only for Snow Drift to line up the killing blow showing no mercy to anyone that opposes her by shooting him directly between the eyes with a final gasp the gangster stumbles to the ground in a pool of blood while the mare grins wickedly high on adrenaline and excitement to stop herself now.
Snow pokes her head out the shattered window looking around the parking lot before stepping out, trotting towards the dead body of the gangster she just killed. The batpony’s eyes glances around to see the first gangster that she shot in the shoulder earlier as he fumbles his way to his own car with his eyes staring at Snow Drift in pure terror with another of his buddies lies dead in front of her, Immediately she steps on the dead stallion’s head with a wicked grin.
“Alright you assholes, who’s next?!” she taunts, pressing her boot down on the dead gangster’s head. With her gaze filled with fury, she snaps her head towards the injured gangster, “Come on, step right up! You want to fuck with me too!? See where that gets you!” Snow Drift openly taunts the stallion, making him shiver in fear as he fiddles with the car door jumping inside and stepping on the gas turning his car back to the highway.
Snow Drift doesn’t bother to shoot at the fleeing stallion, seeing how terrified of little old her was enough. Thinking she has already won, she quickly shifts her attention towards the donkey.
Upon seeing Snow Drift, he yells to his comrades, “Fall back to the rally point!” leaving him to retreat by hopping into his car.
Snow Drift takes her boot off the dead gangster’s head trotting slowly towards the donkey’s car aiming her pistol towards their leader and firing off a few shots towards his car.
“You fucking little shit! You think you can just fuck with me and get away just like that!? No one fucks with Snow Drift! No one!” the mare practically screams out loud in a angry tone as her bullets hit the back of the donkey’s car, however, one of her shots manages to graze his right arm as he presses hard the gas trying to get away from the crazy mare screaming like a banshee outside and hurling insults towards the fleeing gangsters
The other two get into another car. They speed away, heading to the highway.
Snow Drift watches the three cars driving westbound on the highway towards Las Pegasus, "That’s right you fucking pussies!” she yells at them, ”Fucking run away you jackasses! I’ve got bigger balls than all of you, and I’m a mare!" Snow Drift cannot help taunting the three cars.
Once the fighting calms down and the dust settles the white-maned mare spits out her watermelon flavored gum onto the concrete below trotting back inside of The Grey Horse to see how things are faring for the ponies inside.
Once inside, Snow Drift glances around to see how things are doing. After the gangsters are either killed or scared off, the bartender had been watching the front door but never managed to fire a single shot, mostly thanks to Snow Drift. He wipes his head away of sweat happy that the ordeal is over.
The burly purple stallion and his blonde friend in the stetson hat tend to the injured mare, trying their best to stabilize her, although she was lucky to make it out with just a shot to the shoulder.
Over in the corner, rising from their fight, Amethyst and Ardigus returns no doubt causing chaos of their own, but Snow Drift doesn’t know exactly what they did, just what she saw for a brief moment.
"Fucking assholes." Snow Drift spits out, not pleased with her situation. If anything, she’s angrier than before, even though she racked up a few kills and intimidated the gangsters meant to hunt down Shutter Speed, yet something doesn’t sit well with her as she ponders to herself.
“I got one. Another ran off into the desert.”” Amethyst says in a surprised tone holding up her pistol with a slight smile as if she is pleased with herself despite the situation that unfolded in front of her.
“Remember, I want my guns back before you leave.” he bartender demands with a stern gaze towards Amethyst, which offers a nervous smile only to hand the borrowed weapon back to the bartender, “Y-yea, thanks a lot. It really helped!”
Amethyst’s attention is immediately grabbed by the injured mare in the far corner of the bar, “Oh my,” she says with concern, trotting her way towards the mare, pulling out a small back of first aid seemly not her first time patching up someone, “I can help? Here move aside! I know a thing or two about first aid, she’ll be good as new in a few moments don’t you worry big guy!”
While Amethyst tends to the wounded, Snow Drift leans on the billiards table staring at the bloody camera that brought all this hell onto their doorstep. Their lives will not be the same tonight, “What’s on this that they want so bad that they are willing to kill anyone for it?” She ponders to herself for a moment, unable to figure out why they could want the camera so badly. She can’t find out what’s on it until the film is developed and now, she’s the only person holding the key to the secrets of the camera. Well, with her night ruined, a tasty mystery, and a dead stallion’s last wish, she’s going to have to go and find his girlfriend, Open Source. She’s going to have to make way for the city of sin, Las Pegasus.
