//-------------------------------------------------------// My mom is a pony -by Ciaran Woodget- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 Plymouth Elementary School A young human girl wearing large glasses sits at her desk drawing with crayons. Her skin is light with blonde hair tied behind her head and is wearing a light blue dress with pink flowers that stops just below the knees, on her legs are white socks and purple shoes. “Sofia! Look Look, I finished drawing,” A young Asian boy said, black hair, wearing a green shirt and blue shorts. He was waving a sheet of paper and held it with his right hand pointing at his crayon creation. “See, see this is my dad, he is a policeman,” The boy said in a loud voice, pointing to a crayon drawing of a policeman standing next to a drawing of a police car. He noticed that Sofia was not paying attention to him and was still busy drawing. “Can I see?” The boy said with a grin, trying to look over her shoulder. “No Tommy, I am not done!” She said in a loud voice throwing herself over the paper trying to hide the drawing. “Tommy please sit down,” The teacher said in a stern voice. “Fine, I didn’t want to see your dog anyways,” Tommy said, frustrated and moved back to his desk, sitting down. “She is not a dog,” Sofia said and then continued drawing. Minutes later the teacher stood up and looked at the clock on the wall above the door. “Ok everyone time is up, please put away your crayons,” He said looking at some of the students making quick adjustments to their drawings before putting the crayons away. Sofia blew on her paper, cleaning it and then turned it over when she saw Tommy trying to look her way. “Alice you are first please come up to the front of the class and show us what you have made,” The teacher smiled as he sat down behind his desk. “This is my mom, she cuts, hair every day and this is my dad, he works at the bank taking people's money,” She pointed to her drawing of a woman with very large purple scissors and then a man behind a desk with a goofy grin holding money. Some of the kids giggled and started talking to each other. “That is very nice Alice, you can go back to your desk now,” He said with a smile and crossed out the name on the board. “It’s now your turn Charlie,” A young boy walked up to the front of the class and open his paper showing a drawing of one man in a red car with a pointy front end and big rear tires. “This is my uncle, he likes to race cars, Zoom zoom…” He said making motor noises showing move his paper around in the air. The kids laughed, enjoying the show that their classmate was putting on. He looked at the teacher with a smile and walked back to his desk. Then it was Tommy's turn and he walks proudly to the front of the class. “This is my dad, he is a policeman and has a fast car to catch the bad guys. We wo We we were beep, beep, stop, this is the police pull over,” Tommy spoke loud trying to out do Charlie’s role play. There was more laughing and cheering by the students in the class. The teacher stood up and cleared his throat to get their attention. Tommy walked back to his desk feeling that he won a prize and grinned at Sofia who tried to ignore him. “Sofia it’s your turn,” He said and sat down to relax. She was nervous and grabbed her paper holding close to her chest as she walked to the front of the class. Sofia looked at her drawing and took a deep breath. Turning the paper around, she showed a drawing to the class. The children mumbled to each other trying to guess what they were looking at. “This is my dad, he helps people on the phone, and this is me,” She pointed at herself and then her finger pointed to a white creature standing next to her. It had a horn on its head with big blue eyes, four legs, purple mane and a long tail. Blue diamonds were drawn on her rear. “This is my mom, she is a pony,” Sofia said, nervously and the kids started laughing at her. “That’s stupid Sofia, moms can not be ponies!” Tommy yelled out pointing at her. “Liar, Sofia is a liar, liar, liar, pants on fire!,” The children started chanting flowing Tommy. “ I am not lying!” Sofia yelled back and started crying as threw her paper on the ground. “Hey, that’s enough now!” The teacher slapped his hand onto the desk getting the class's attention. He walked over to Sofia and put his hand on her shoulder. “Now Sofia, normally kids have a mom and a dad, sometimes they have two moms and two dads,” The teacher said. “And one uncle!” Charlie spoke up getting the teacher’s attention who looked at him seriously and then looked back to Sofia who was rubbing the tears from her cheeks “As I was trying to explain, people have kids, dogs have puppies, cats have kittens and ponies have umm even smaller ponies,” He was explaining and Sofia pulled away angrily. “You don’t, don’t believe me! No understands Sofia!” She yelled angrily and ran out of the classroom. Sofia’s home was an average size American bungalow with green grass, small flower garden, driveway and single garage. A large feather duster glowed a light blue as it floated in the air, brushing away the dust and clumps of white fur off the bookcase. “I swear it gets worse every time the season changes,” The young lady's voice said as the duster floated to another piece of furniture. The cordless phone on a wood table started to ring and then the receiver lifted off the base floating to white pointy ear. “Hello, yes, this is she… the school… alright is something wrong?… What happened to Sofia?… ok ok, just let her calm down, I’ll be there soon to clear this up… Ok thank you bye,” The phone floated back to the base and clicked in place. She walked into the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. Rarity sighed and looked at her right front hoof. “Well Rarity dear, looks like it is time to go to school to check on your daughter,” She said to herself. A draw opened with her blue magic, a large brush floated out and started brushing her purple mane. A white limo pulled up to the entrance of the school and came to a stop. Some students who were near the door spotted the limo and started talking to each other wondering what was going on. The front door opened on the driver's side and a tall man dressed in a tux climbed out. He was a handsome dark skin man with no hair, wearing dark sunglasses. The man walked around the car to the rear left passenger seat and opened the door. Rarity climbed out and her hoofs clicked as she stepped into the cement sidewalk. She was wearing a blue hat and orange glasses, on her side was a red leather purse that was fitted like a saddlebag. She brushed her mane with her right hoof and moved aside as the door was closed for her. “Sorry for calling you on your day off Michael, I know how much you value your time with your family,” Rarity said apologizing. “It’s fine Mrs. Rarity, it is always a pleasure working with you,” The chauffeur said with a smile and started walking back to the front of the car. “Call me when you are ready to go home,” Michael said as he climbed back into the driver's seat. She smiled and started walking to the school entrance. There was a crowd of students pushing their faces against the school windows looking, pointing and talking. Miss Jenkins the school principal opened the door, just as Rarity reached it to her surprise. “Mrs. Rarity this sure is a surprise, I didn’t know you were coming. It’s not often we have a celebrity come to our humble school or any celebrity for that matter,” She said trying to keep her composure. “Thank you, Miss?” Rarity said removing her glasses with her magic and put them into her purse. “Stacy Jenkins, I am the Principal of this school,” She said with a smile but looking nervous. “Twilight,” The white pony said, looking at the outfit Miss Jenkin was wearing. It was a women's business outfit made with a touch of purple lines and blue colors with purple stars. Her pants were made with a matching blue color. “Twilight?” She asked, blinking her eyes in confusion. “That outfit, it’s one of my designs, it looks dazzling on to you,” Rarity said with a big smile and removed her hat revealing her horn. “Oh, thank you, hearing it from the one who designed it is such an honor,” The principal said and then cleared her throat. “So what brings you today to our school?” She asked. “I got a call about my daughter, if it is not too much trouble, I would like to see her,” Rarity said as her hooves clopped onto the ceramic floor tiles. Author's Note Since I been having writers block on my other story. I decided to work on some simple stories and will try to keep them only a few chapters long. No big plots, drama or explosions hopefully. Thanks for reading. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 “Sofia Labonte? Oh yes, she in Mr. Lafleur’s class,” The principal said and started walking leading Rarity down the hallway and then walked into her office. “I don’t wish to sound rude, but since we have never met before, do you have some ID and papers to prove she is your daughter,” She asked. “Yes of course,” Rarity said expecting this. Her horn glowed and two pieces of ID floated to the desk with a sheet of paper. “I spent my whole life believing that magic was not real, just an illusion or trick of the hand,” She said, grabbing the ID’s and paper that was floating in front of her. “Where I come from it is as real as the air we breathe,” Rarity said with a smile. “Equestria ambassador, permanent resident card, is it true you met the president?” She asked her and gave the ID’s back. “Oh, he was such a gentleman, and his wife asked me to design a dress for her. It was an opportunity, I couldn’t pass up,” Rarity said as the ID cards were giving back to her. She grabbed the cards with her right hoof and with a twist of her wrist, she put the ID’s back into her purse. “How did you do that?” Miss Jenkins asked looking confused. A few minutes later the door opened and Miss Jenkins walked out followed by Rarity. “Like Velcro?” The principal said as Rarity hooves clopped on the floor as she walked next to her. “In Equestria, ponies can grab lightweight objects, for everything else it is either push, pull or lift with magic,” Rarity explained. “Hmm,” She said taking this in, trying to understand. Sofia was back in class at her desk with her head between her arms hiding her face. Mr. Lafleur looked at Sofia and sighed as he continued with the math lesson. “Now everyone please settle down, we are almost finished,” He said, grabbing a piece of white chalk and started to write out a math problem. There was a knock on the classroom door so he put the chalk down and walked up to the door to open it. “Hey everyone, it's our principal,” Mr. Lafleur said, stepping away from the door. “Good afternoon, Miss Jenkins,” The class said together as she walked in the room. Sofia lifted her head rubbing her runny wet noise and looked over at the principal. “Thank you,” She said with a big smile, “We have a special guest this afternoon, she came all this way to see Sofia and to meet her friends,” Miss Jenkins winked at Sofia and walked over to the teacher’s desk. The sound of clopping started to get louder as she approached the room. The children looking curiously at the door trying to guess what was coming. “MOM!” Sofia quickly jumped out of her seat as Rarity walked into the classroom. “It’s it’s a PONY!” Tommy yelled out and the rest of the class started screaming out in excitement. Even Mr. Lafleur flinched back speechless as the magical pony walked into the room and started talking. “Hello everyone I’m Sofia’s mother, it is so nice to meet all of you,” She said with a smile. Sofia ran across the room and hugged Rarity who put her left front leg over her holding her in a hug. She rubbed her muzzle affectionately against Sofia’s red cheeks rubbing the tears away. “Not so hard Sofia, your mother still needs to breathe,” Rarity said and then Sofia loosened her grip. “Sofia, your mother is a Pony!” Tommy said frantically pointing. “Oh mom, mom, I made you something today!” Sofia said, bouncing on the spot and quickly ran back to her desk and opened the top pulling out a wrinkled paper. Rarity watched with a gentle smile as she returned showing her the drawing she made. “That is so lovely dear, I see Dad, and Sofia, and who is that standing next to you. I can’t seem to remember,” Rarity said teasing her with a silly grin. “That is you, mommy!” She said giggling back. Alice in the back of the classed raised her right hand up waving it back and forth. Mr. Lafleur regained his composure and noticed Alice’s hand was up in the air. “Mr. Lafleur, can I ask Sofia’s mom a question?” She asked, having a hard time keeping still. He looked at Rarity who nodded with a smile. The Miss Jenkins quietly waved to the class as she left the room closing the door. “Are you a unicorn?” Alice asked, looking up and then down at her hands nervously. “Why yes I am, Thank you for asking,” Rarity answer with a smile. “Are there different kinds of ponies?” Tommy said with his hand raised. “That's a very good question,” She said and looked at the teacher. “Mr. Lafleur, may I use your chalkboard?” Rarity asked him. “Yes you can,” He said, moving to the corner of the room. Sofia sat back down at her desk watching. Rarity horn started glowing and the white piece of chalk floated in the air towards to the chalkboard. The kids oohed and awed as if they were watching a magic show for the first time. “In Equestria, the world that I came from, there are four types of ponies,” She said as the chalk tapped against the blackboard and started drawing a pony. “First and most common is an earth pony, they are stronger, than any other pony on land,” The chalk then drew a pony with wings. “This is an air pony or also known as a Pegasus, they can fly in the air and move the clouds,” The children awed some more watching the chalk draw a pony with a horn. “Now this is a magic pony, known as a unicorn, with their horns they can use magic,” An eraser floated in the air and quickly rubbed the drawing away and then a larger pony was drawn with both wings and a horn. “Last and not least is a royal pony called an Alicorn they can have the abilities of all types of ponies, and Just like in your Spiderman movies. With great power comes great, reasonably. So most Alicorn’s become princesses or leaders over others, they are the rarest ponies in Equestria,” She finished her quick lesson and returned the chalk and eraser. “Is Sofia a pony?” Charlie asked with his hand up waving and looking in Sofia’s direction. Author's Note Another chapter done. Thanks for reading. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 “Sofia Hun, it's ok, you can show them,” Rarity said giving permission. Sofia stood up from her desk and walked to the chalkboard picking up the eraser. “Please don’t laugh at Sofia,” She said looking back at her classmates. Sofia then started clapping the eraser against her hand, creating a cloud of white chalk dust. The kids looked at each other not sure what she was trying to do and then… “Ah, aahh, AAAHHH! Ah-Choo!!!” Sofia sneezed causing a flash of blue light around her that slowly faded away revealing a small unicorn. “Aaaa she’s so cute!” Alice squealed out, placing her hands on her cheeks looking. Sofia sniffled rubbing her wet nose with her right hoof and then pushed her glasses up. Her fur was white just like her mother’s, but her mane and tail was a golden blond color. She seemed to be wearing the same clothes, but now only half it remained stopping at her rear legs with having no visible cutie mark yet. Rarity’s horn glowed pulling out a tissue from her purse that she grabs it with her hoof and then rubbed Sofia nose cleaning it. “My daughter wants to attend a human school like everyone else, so please be understanding and not judge her by her looks,” Rarity said as the school buzzer went off signaling the end of the day. “Alright everyone, we will finish with the math lesson tomorrow. Make sure to study chapter 2 and thank Sofia’s mom for visiting our class today,” Mr. Lafleur said as he started to clean up his desk. Most of the children formed a line and quickly talked to Rarity and Sofia on their way out. Alice pushed Tommy towards Sofia and whispered something in his ear. “I.. I am sorry for being mean to you Sofia, are we still friends?” Tommy said, having a hard time looking at the small pony in her blue eyes, feeling embarrassed. “Silly Tommy of course, you can be friends with me,” She said with a grin looking back at him. “Are you going home with your mom?” Alice asked Sofia and then looked at her mother. “Mom, can I take the bus home with my friends?” Sofia asked her. “Are you sure?” Rarity asked her and Sofia nodded quickly. Sofia’s small horn glowed and her books, pencil, and crayons floated in the air then into her bag, which then floated towards her. She then hugged her mom and left with her friends heading to the parking lot where the school buses were waiting. The room became quiet after all the children left and then Rarity walked up to Mr. Lafleur. “Thank you for calling me, I was worried that my daughter would have a hard time fitting in, Mr. Lafleur,” She said with a big smile. He adjusted his tie still feeling awkward about having a talking unicorn in his classroom. “I should apologize as well to you, I also didn’t believe your daughter at first. The whole idea of talking ponies coming to our world is still very new to me,” He said grabbing his suitcase. “It’s still a work in progress for both our worlds. Please have a good day Mr. Lafleur, I look forward to meeting with you again,” Rarity said in a diplomatic tone and a gentle smile. “About Sofia’s father, is he a pony?” Mr. Lafleur asked curiously. Rarity stopped at the door and looked back. “Oh no, he is human and a very caring husband,” She smiled and was ready to leave. “Then how...” He asked almost covering his mouth. “That’s another question for another time,” Rarity said and left the room. Many of the kids in the school were trying to talk and touch the small unicorn as she quickly darted through the crowd. She found her friend waiting near the school bus, which had its doors open. “Let’s go home!” Alice said with a cheer. Sofia jumped onto the steps with her hoofs and started climbing into the bus. The bus driver noticed the small pony and stood up stopping her. “No pets allowed on the bus!” He said trying to shoo the small pony away with his hands. “My name is Sofia, I am not a pet, I go to this school!” Sofia yelled out surprising the bus driver. “Mr. Bus driver she is in our class,” Tommy said in a loud voice standing from his seat. "Rules are rules, now sit back down," He said in a stern voice pointing at Tommy. “Let her in!, Let her in!” Charlie said in a loud voice chanting and then the other kids started chanting with together with him. “Let her in!”, “Let her in!”, “Let her in!” The chanting continued. “Alright, Alright will you all just shut up!” The bus driver yelled back in an angry tone and returned to the driver’s seat. The children cheered in victory from their seats, this made Sofia felt so very happy. Her horn twinkled like a small crystal as she walked along the bus hallway between the seats. Tommy moved over in his seat and waved to Sofia to sit down. Alice sat in the seat across and have the biggest smile on her face. The engine started and the doors on the bus closed. Rarity watched the school buses leave and smiled, "Friendship is magic," She said to herself just as her limo pulled up. As the bus drove along a very familiar route, Sofia looked out the window at the world she was born in and then looked at her reflection in the glass and a thought came to her mind. My name is Sofia, my mom is a Pony, and me Too.... Author's Note A new beginning for Sofia and the end of the story. Hope you enjoyed it.
