Light was shining down upon the lovely land of Equestria, the clouds were no where to be seen and ponies of all kinds were running around the land. Some in Ponyville, some in Cloudsdale, and even in Manehatten. Except, this story takes place in Canterlot. The most royal place in all of Equestria, where both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna reside within the castle.
This story follows two pegasai. One named Nerdz and another Syo. Syo was a pegasus whom was a worker for the fashion division that resided in Canterlot and Nerdz was a humble kind pegasus who worked in bakery whom also resided in Canterlot.
They didn't know each other. Nor would they expect to meet each other. This is their story.

This story began with a simple job offer.
Bright yellow wings soared through the sky of Canterlot on her way to her job at her local bakery. Stopping and dropping on the steps, rushing inside with a huge grin upon her face. "Baking Souda!" Nerdz shouted, her bag almost off her back as she panted and caught her breath from her high speed fly though the city. "Guess what!" she giggled, unable to keep her hooves grounded.
Baking Souda walked out of his kitchen, taking a good look at Nerdz sighing his eyes followed the ground then back to her, "Yes?" he asked. Taking a seat preparing for the mare to begin talking.
"Well, I got a job offer for the puppet series I've been keeping an eye on for, like EVER!" Nerdz shouted. Taking the flyer from her bag and showing her boss. "Do you know what this means for me?!" her breath never shortened, "I GET TO VOICE A MARE PUPPET!" she squealed. Jumping up and down in the bakery slightly shaking the walls and roof.
Baking Souda flinched from the high pitched squeal. "T-thanks excellent..." Souda's emerald eyes went towards his floor. "Should I start hiring new mares then..?" he asked with a saddened look.
Nerdz' paused, noticing her boss' unhappy look upon his face, she approached him. "Don't be stupid, silly." she patted his back with her wing. "It's not forever, I'll still be working my normal shifts here, it's an afternoon and night job so my morning shifts aren't messy I promise!" Nerdz gave her boss a hearty smile.
Souda leaned against her wing and pushed himself upwards, "Alright then." The unicorn baker dusted himself off and got ready to go to he kitchen. "You missy get the day off, I gotta prep for opening. You can go ahead and pack early for your trip!" Souda smiled, and waved her off.
The young pegasus smiled, waving off to her boss before flying off to her home to get ready for her trip.

Syo pushed a box into the building as a fancy looking unicorn directed her to do so. "Darling, please put the next crate over by the stage." She directed with bit of magic.
Syo had an unhappy expression on her face. "Miss Flare," Syo started, "I actually have to leave in an hour, I got a job offer and I accepted it." she said backing away from the crates filled with fabrics and dresses. "I'll still be working for the company, designing dresses but I'll be busy for the afternoon and evening."
Flare Glow turned and faced Syo. "You want to leave me all alone with these crates?!" the unicorn collapsed dramatically. "How could you, leaving me all alone..." Flare Glow weeped in an act.
Syo sighed not paying attention to the vain unicorn. "H-Hey!" Flare shouted at Syo, "Don't leave! You're my worker!"
The white pegasus turned and faced her former manager, "I wasn't you're worker, I was just a designer for you're company I work for Cream Glow." Flare was taken back a bit.
Her brown mane frizzed a bit. "F-fine! I didn't want you apart of my division anyways!" she shouted at Syo who was already flying away. Flare growled and hissed, picking up the box with her magic with ease as she could have done earlier. "How ungrateful.." she muttered.

So both mares returned to their homes to begin packing and getting ready for their new jobs. One left on good terms whilst the other left with an angry unicorn behind her. Both's fate intertwined, but how will it play out? Only gods may know for these two mares fates now mixed.

"I'm off now!" Nerdz shouted, as she slammed the door shut, saying goodbye to her puppy. Flying towards the location her invitation mentioned. SEEZ Theater was labeled on the bottom corner of the invite. Noticing a large red and black building almost like a condo which was the same as it was drawn on the invite she glided down there.
Landing secure on the steps of the steps she walked inside where she was greeted by a purple earth pony, "Hi there.." the shy pony smiled, her purple bangs hiding her eyes. "W-whats your name?" she asked, as she was seated behind the receptionist desk.
Nerdz gave the shy mare a smile, "My name is Nerdz, I was invited by Soul? For a puppet series? I'm supposed to be playing a role here."
The shy earth pony smiled, "Oh, that's right!" the mare looked down the list. "You'll be going down to room seven, it's just down the hall to the left. If you have any issues please contact me, my name's Kindria." Kindria smiled softly and Nerdz and she returned the same smile.
After thanking Kindria, Nerdz trotted down the hall as fast as she could, reaching her destination, room seven. She knocked on the door and was greeted by a male dark blue pegasus. "Howdy!" he smiled, opening the door for her. Nerdz entered the room inside was a large amount of ponies, ranging from mares to stallions.
"Hi!" Nerdz greeted everyone.
A red unicorn wearing a grey mask approached her, "Hey there, name's Soul. You're...." he trailed off
Nerdz smiled, "I'm Nerdz." bowing lightly as a sign of respect.
Soul smiled, and sighed in relief. "Ah alright then!" he looked around the room. "Everypony take you're seats and lets get started on this meeting."
Everypony made their way to the seats with names written on them. Nerdz sat in her designated seat and noticed the one to the right of her was empty. She looked at the name scribbled on the paper. Syo.
"Excuse me, we're missing somepony named Syo." A blonde earth pony named Uina pointed out. "What should we do?" she asked.
Soul looked over and saw that they were missing Syo, "Huh, I totally forgot. Give me a moment, I'll go see if Kindria has seen her." Soul made his way out of the room and as soon as he left everything became chaos.
Stallions started rough housing and mares began talking as loud as they could. Nerdz on the other hand was startled by the noise. She used her wings to cover her ears. Her green eyes shifted back and forth to the door. 'I could run for it.' she thought. But she didn't run cause as she prepped herself to bolt for the door she noticed it was opening again. In fact the other's did as well.
Due to the fact that as soon as the magic of Soul's horn appeared Uina screamed "FINISH!" she screamed! As soon as that happened the stallions rushed to their seats and the mares shushed up. Nerdz was slightly appalled by this as if it were practiced.
Sitting in place, Soul entered the room with a white pegasus with a brown male with a blue dip on the tip of her bangs, "Everypony, please welcome Syo, she's designing the artwork for our project as well as playing Dani, please say hello." The room was brought to a cluster of hello, hi, and other greetings. Syo herself waved at everypony before taking her seat next to Nerdz.
Soul began talking about the project itself and gave everyone their script. They practiced then socialized, practiced some more and even tested out some puppets. Nerdz held the puppet that belonged to her and started playing with it. Nerdz glanced over to her right and saw Syo sitting on the floor scribbling some concept art for the project.
"That's some nice art you got there." Nerdz said, leaning over and looking down at Syo's art. "You use magic...?"
Syo looked up at Nerdz and nodded. "It's what they call a birth defect. I can use magic but only levitating things. So I don't mind." she chuckled. Nerdz poked Syo's wing.
"So do you're wings work?" She giggled.
The white pegasus sighed. "Yes." Syo stood up and flapped her wings as she floated. "My mom was a unicorn and my father a pegasus. I inherited the ability to levitate things from my mom. Any more questions?"
Nerdz pondered in her thoughts. She noticed Syo's tired eyes and an idea struck her. "Do you want cupcakes?"
The tired artist pegasus looked up at Nerdz. "Yes please, good sir." she responded with a bland look.
"Lets go then!" she smiled, Nerdz and Syo stood up to leave the room seven where only a few ponies remained, the two walked out the front and smiled at Kindria as they left.
They flew towards Nerdz' work bakery. "I am gonna have to pay for this...?" Syo asked mid flight, the two hovered in the air.
Nerdz laughed, "No, no. It's on the house. Just treat me next time." Syo sighed but nodded and the two mares continued to the bakery. These were the mares whom just met their fates were intertwined.
But from below a pony watched them. Purple eyes gritted teeth from the ground. It stared at the two pegasai as they flew out of her sight. "This isn't the end of this." it whispered. Trotting away and glanced back at them, before continuing.

It was the third week of the project that both Syo and Nerdz had started, and from that time they started hanging out more often. Syo drew Nerdz art and Nerdz baked Syo cupcakes. In their eyes it was a decent trade. Both mares loved and treasured the other's company. In fact, this was a day where they didn't have work and they wished to spend it together.
Syo's brown and blue tipped mane flew in the wind as she trotted to the bakery that Nerdz worked at before the morning rush hit where all the stallions whom worked grabbed their treats before work.
The white mare reached the street where SouBakes was located, noticing a two story building that was a mixture of magenta and lime green stripes, for as much of an eye sore the building was the interior was what mattered. Syo stepped inside the bakery the small bell making a little ding notifying the staff it was open. The first person to greet Syo was Baking Souda.
Baking Souda owned one of the most popular afternoon and evening bakery's in all of Canterlot. He waved to the pegasus, "Why, hello dearie." he smiled, Souda's emerald eyes shimmered with delight as he saw Syo. "Want me to grab Nerdz for you, she's prepping the back?" he asked kindly.
"No thank you sir. I don't want to make your opening a rush, I'll wait until she's free and then I'll snag her and order some food." Syo smiled. Baking Souda nodded in an understanding and walked to the back to continue working.
Syo trotted to a window seat and pulled out a piece of paper she was scribbling apron idea's on. Lately she has noticed both Mr. Souda's and Nerdz' apron have been fading and she wanted to design a new one for them as a payment for all the free treats she had gotten recently. the bells to Canterlot tower rung, Syo's attention was brought up from her sketches to the clock inside the bakery. It was -8:05 AM- soon stallions and mares would be busy walking in the bakery and leaving within minutes of ordering to head to their works.
Nerdz trotted to the cash register and waved at Syo. Syo waved back at her friend and smiled as normal their normal 'good morning' to each other. Soon after the bell rung SouBakes was filled with ponies. Most in suits, some in construction uniforms. Except one. One was a familiar mare.
"Greetings." The mare approached Syo. Deep indigo eyes, a light purple coat, and a light brown mane. "It's been a while hasn't it been." It was Flare Glow.
Flare took a seat across from Syo. "Hello." Syo muttered, unhappy. "I haven't seen you in here, what are you doing her?" She asked, gritting her teeth. Syo wasn't too keen on being in the same room with Flare after Flare threatened to fire Syo even though she wasn't truly working for her, instead her older sister Cream Flare who was in charge of the Manehatten division of the stores. She was hired for the Canterlot store.
Flare giggled a bit childishly, covering her mouth with her hoof. "Oh, I've just been trotting around and noticed I haven't been here. I'm surprised to see you here in such a place with an eye sore exterior. " Flare had a grin on her face, as she noticed Syo's darkened look. "Oh, did you design this place cause the inside is the only good thing and-"
The vain unicorn was cut off by a comment by Syo. "Shouldn't you go back to managing the storage facility. Unlike you, I run the real store and I'd appreciate it if you didn't complain about this bakery since your storage facility is much more bland." she sneered at Flare.
Soon after the rush slowed down Nerdz glomped the fazed Syo "LOVE ME~!" Nerdz giggled snapping Syo from her thoughts. "Moo!" she smiled as Syo looked at her.
Syo sighed, her visible eye emitting a purple hazy hue and the same hue formed around Nerdz lifting her off the white pegasus. "Good morning." the artist yawned. "How are you doing?" she asked.
The yellow pegasus smiled, "I just finished working so it's noon silly!" Nerdz' eyes flowed downwards to the table, noticing not the empty plate but the piece of paper Syo was using to design aprons. "You're making aprons?" Nerdz said confused.
Syo panicked noticing she left the aprons sheet uncovered. "Ah, huh?!" Syo used her magic and shoved the paper into her bag. "Let's go!" Syo stood up preparing to leave the bakery with Nerdz. While the white coated pegasus panicked Nerdz simply dragged her out the bakery and off to some cafe.
Nerdz and Syo walk together down the road from bakery to a new cafe, "Syo, what was the image about the sketch of aprons?" Nerdz asked Syo with a smile as they sat in a some fancy cafe. "You didn't want me to see it?" she frowned.
The brunette mare shook her head, "No, no!" she sighed. "I didn't want you see the image yet, but as long as you don't tell Mr. Souda I'll tell you." Nerdz clapped her hooves in excitement. "I decided to make new aprons for you and Mr. Souda since I noticed both you're aprons are fading so I thought a new design was in order." She smiled lightly.
As Syo explained Nerdz' eyes began to light up in excitement. "You design outfits?!" she squealed.
The designer let out a sheepish laugh, "Yeah. It's nothing really. My real talent resides within my marks, that's why cutie mark is what it is. It's my signature. It's kinda complicated and lame huh? " Syo's smile was crooked.
Just then, Nerdz shook her head in a disagree "I think it's a lovely talent. You're unique."
Syo's pink eyes shined lightly when Nerdz said that.
"You're not like other ponies, nor am I. We both are unique to our talents."
Her heart started pumping. What was this feeling? Syo never felt such a rush within herself. Her gaze fell upon Nerdz who had a gentle smile. She was right... Nerdz was unique in Syo's eyes.
Then before Syo could respond to anything Nerdz placed her hoof upon Syo's forehead, "You're a bit warm, you feeling alright Syo?" Unable to respond, nothing but a cluster of incoherent words spattered everywhere. Nerdz just giggled. "I think you should rest for a bit, I'll take you home."
So, just as Nerdz said she took Syo home. Kindly paying for the bill at the cafe and walked Syo instead of flying to her home. The mares trotted around Canterlot, taking time and seeing everything for what it is.
Walking around was breathtaking.
Syo saw Nerdz differently for some odd reason, their eyes would lock and Syo's heart would pump faster that normal. The yellow coated pegasus' mane shined in the light, her light green eyes sparkled, and her voice was gentle and kind. She was talented and Syo knew this before, but this time, when she'd think this a feeling over ran her.
Sadly, they reached Syo's home, an apartment building in Canterlot. "We're here..." Syo frowned, not wanting to leave Nerdz but knowing that unless she figured out what this feeling was it would pester her and interfere with work.
"You live in a fancy place." Nerdz pointed out, "Well, I gotta go home too. I wanna check on my pets," she smiled. "See you at work tomorrow." Nerdz hugged Syo once more, "Feel better soon!" she shouted as she took a running start before flying off.
Syo smiled with blush hitting her face. "Will do...." she whispered before turning around and going inside her apartment.

Chapter 3: Do You Trust Her?
Nerdz quietly landed on her front steps trotting into her relaxed home. A small puppy ran up to her and greeted her with a cheerful bark and licked her. Nerdz giggled and let the small pup jump on her back as she flew upstairs and onto her bed. Opening a small cupboard filled with dog treats. "Here you are, Yoshi." Nerdz smiled feeding the pup.
Yoshi let out a small bark. Nerdz messed up her fur. "Hehe, good pup!" Yoshi jumped onto Nerdz and hugged her. "You're such a cute puppy!" Then there was a knock at the door. "Sit here girl."
Nerdz sat her pup down on the bed and galloped down the stairs and to her front door. "Hello?" Nerdz answered the door. A purple unicorn stood in front of her. Deep indigo eyes locked with Nerdz light green ones. "Can I help you?" the pegasus asked the unicorn feeling a bit uncomfortable.
The unicorn nodded. "Might I come in?" she asked, her voice hypnotizing. "I'd like to talk to you about something important." once again, she spoke, her voice hypnotizing just like the first time.
Nerdz not wanting to be rude welcomed the mystery unknown unicorn in to the home. "Please, come in. It's quiet cold." she took a her hoof and welcomed the unicorn inside.
"Lovely place, have you had it decorated it?" The new mare asked, a bit of a smirk on her mouth. Nerdz on the other hand remained silent. Not sure how to answer. "Ah that's right. I came to talk." She took a seat across from Nerdz on a comfortable chair.
Soon after the unicorn took her seat, she used her magic and the entire room began to take a dark haze. The room blurred and Nerdz' vision became unclear. The mare just let out a laugh while the pegasus was in distress. The room that they sat had a different texture to it. It was completely black, the only light in the room was the mystery mare's magic illuminating the room.
"W-where are we?" Nerdz asked, her voice quivering as she panicked internally.
"You're somewhere. It's what I call silence. Here we'll be able to talk without any threats." Then, the mare sent off a magic burst of light and the entire room was lit. It indeed was a black room only two chairs and one coffee table. "My name is Flare Glow. I've come to discuss something important with you miss." She introduced herself
Nerdz looked at the pony whom revealed herself as Flare Glow. "Yes, what would that be Miss Glow?" Nerdz asked politely.
"Well. What's your thoughts on Syo?" she asked. At that moment her voice changed, it seemed more demanding than before and her deep indigo eyes flashed a color. "I'm curious..."
The young yellow pegasus fell silent. Why did she wish to know her opinions on Syo? Was Syo doing something wrong? Did she get in trouble? Worries built up in Nerdz, her face ran pale. A light chuckle came from Flare. "Syo is my friend, we're working on the same pro-"
"I know that. What do you think of her." Flare cut her off, an unhappy look upon her face.
Nerdz looked back and forth from the ground to Flare, "I like her a lot. She's neat. She's smart, and she's really generous so I have a positive opinion on her. Is something wrong with her?" Nerdz answered but soon ended with a question. "Who are you? Why does my relationship with Syo concern you?"
Flare Glow looked directly. "Do you think you can trust her with you're life?" Ignoring the questions that Nerdz had asked. Pulling out a small puppet that was had similar features to Syo. "She has once exactly like you, would you like this one?" Flare's light Illuminating glow surrounded the puppet. A darkened smile upon her face.
This feeling that Nerdz had made her uneasy. It made her sick beyond anything. What was this mare doing? "I'm not sure if I can take it..." she whispered.
She laughed. "Take it dear. You deserve it. If you trust her with you're life, she'd trust you with her's." The unicorn dropped the puppet into her lap. Flare stood up and began to get off the seat and smiling at Nerdz. "Oh, and this is a huge favor but please do not mention me to Syo. She and I haven't met yet." she smiled.
As Flare turned around she began walking into the darkness. Soon she was out of Nerdz sight, as she was gone Nerdz vision blurred once more and the darkness faded into a light.
Laying on the floor her pup licked her face waking her up. A light smile appeared on Nerdz seeing her pup. As she got herself up off the ground she saw the small puppet of Syo laying beneath her. "This isn't real right...?" she asked aloud. Picking the doll up with her mouth, flying up to a shelf and placing it there.
"I would trust her with my life..."
A yawn hit Nerdz and she made her way to the kitchen, and grabbed a quick wheat sandwich. She ate it quickly before heading upstairs, her puppy following after her. She took a lay on her bed and her pup beside her. "No matter what that unicorn says.... I'd trust Syo" tears leaving her eyes a bit before she drifted to a light slumber.

One pegasus wished for Flare to disappear. One had met Flare and her opinion was unsure, but Flare had strong thoughts on both pegasai. She despised them. Her indigo eyes glowed with hate.
"This is going to be the end."

The sun began to rise for another day in Canterlot, Syo like always stood up and made her way down to the bakery that Nerdz worked at like any other day. Except this time, she didn't hurry. The night before she had an ill feeling, not the feeling of her heart pumping when she looked at Nerdz. It was a feeling of complete dread.
That night a puppet of Nerdz appeared on the chair across from her and it startled her, did Nerdz break in? No.. she couldn't because she didn't know what room that Syo resided in. Before going to the bakery she went to her shop.
Approaching a building filled with clothes and fancy designs. She opened the door and the small bell made a little ding. A pegasus ran over to Syo greeting her with a huge smile. "Good morning~!" she giggled, the minty pegasus smiled at Syo.
Syo patted the smaller pegasus' head. "Hey there, Minty Pad. How's the sales?" she asked entering the store looking around seeing the average amount of clothes gone, "It looks like Sales have been steady." she commented.
The pony known as Minty Pad jumped a bit, "The sales have been wonderful! Is there something you need?" she asked, reminding Syo the original reason she came here. Syo opened her bag and dropped the piece of paper in front of Minty Pad.
"Make these aprons for me please." Syo said without explanation. "I require them by next Wednesday, thanks!" without any answer from Minty, Syo had already galloped out of the building and towards the bakery.
She knew that taking the trip to her store she'd be late, hearing the bell ring notifying her of the time she flew above busy unicorns and buff earth ponies doing her best to make it to the bakery before Nerdz stood in front of the register to give her morning wave, never was Syo late on this occasion. It's not like the world would end, but it surely felt like it would.
Soaring towards SouBakes she took notice of whom she didn't expect to see soar past her. N-Nerdz?! She was late. "H-Hey!" Syo shouted to the yellow pegasus, Nerdz turned her head to see Syo flying a bit faster to catch up with the late work pony.
"You're here too? Why aren't you at the bakery?!" Nerdz called to her as they both zoomed past restaurants from above.
"That's not important! Why aren't you there?! You work there stupid!" Syo shouted back, Nerdz' face lit up from embarrassment, this never happened before. Nerdz had slept in and she didn't expect such a thing to happen.
Nerdz looked in a different direction from Syo and noticed SouBakes below. "Common, don't pry, lets go!" she answered Syo landed. Syo soon followed as the two rushed into the bakery noticing the long line up, Nerdz rushed to the back to wash her hooves and help Baking Souda out.
Syo made her way to her regular spot where she'd sit waiting for Nerdz to finish up work. Her thoughts fell back to the mystery doll that appeared in her room when she woke up. No traces of anyone breaking in, and since she wasn't a unicorn she wasn't able to check for traces of magic. She sighed at the limit of her magic, only being able to lift objects wasn't so special. Even a foal was capable of such magic. Syo laid her face on the table closing her eyes a bit.
Her entire mind was exhausted, seconds before she drifted off to sleep a small plate was moved to her table, the noise alerted Syo and her head went straight up and noticed a muffin on a plate in front of her. In her vision was a grey unicorn stallion in a purple scarf smiling. "Hi there missy." He greeted Syo. Taking a seat across from her.
Confused, Syo sat up straight not wanting to be rude. "H-Hi...? Could I help you?" she asked.
"Eat." He responded.
Syo tilted her head in confusion. "Huh?" she muttered. "Eat?" she asked again.
The colt smiled and nodded his white mane bouncing. "Yeah. The young lady in the back said you looked tired and she wanted to feed you but since she was working she asked me to bring you it." Syo instantly thought of Nerdz. That was so sweet, a flutter in Syo's heart. Nerdz was concerned about us, that was so kind.
"Alright, thanks for bringing it here." Syo's visible eye began glowing it's normal purple hue and the same hue appeared around the muffin. She lifted it to her mouth and took a bite, chewing in silence. Taking notice of the unicorn in shock and awe. "Is there something wrong?" she asked setting the muffin on the plate.
The stallion's eyes sparkled, "Y-you can use magic?!" he asked in awe. "How is that possible? It's possible if a unicorn casts a spell but what spell, I'm sure there is something, somewhere that explains this odd thing. Please tell me!" His red eye lit up. He pulled out a note book out of his scarf and a pencil preparing to write things down.
"Uh... It's actually boring. It's a birth defect. My dad was a pegasus and my mom was a unicorn. So I inherited some magic from her. It's nothing too special if you think about it." Syo gave him an uneasy smile. "Why are you so fascinated?"
The grey stallion coughed a bit and looked at Syo. "I'm a teacher at Canterlot Elementary. It's kinda like Celestia's school but it's for students who weren't lucky enough to get it. It's my job to educate them to the point where they're able to be accepted. My name is Guntaka. I specialize in teaching potions and spells to unicorns. You being a pegasai interested me since you can use magic."
Syo understood why Guntaka was interested. "What brings you here sir?" she asked trying to make small talk.
"I live here. I'm not here normally in the mornings or afternoon due to school but since the fillies have the day off I got to stay home." he replied. Lived here? Syo never knew he lived here.
"You're related to Mr. Souda then?" She asked in confusion. They must have known each other in school.
Guntaka laughed a bit. "Yes indeed." He smiled, if their related they don't look alike. "He's my husband." Guntaka smiled.
Syo paused. Mr. Guntaka and Mr. Souda are married? "H-huh? You're both married? That means..."
"Are you uncomfortable by this?" he asked sounding a bit disappointed.
Syo shook her head. "No, no!" she said, "I actually have a question, if you both got married might I ask some advice on asking somepony out?" she started. "There's a pony, a mare actually that I've been feeling different about and I thought about asking her out sometime soon..." Syo blushed deeply at the thought of seeing Nerdz in a wedding dress.
Guntaka laughed aloud. "That's simple. You tell her you wanna go out. You like her and if you're close enough with her I'm sure she'd find it fun. Just be confident with this!" Guntaka pulled out a slip of paper handed it to Syo. On the paper was scribbled 'Be Strong!' and a smile appeared on Syo's lips. "Read this whenever you're worried about asking her. Confidence is truly key. Just make sure she knows you like her."
"Thank you, sir." Syo bowed her head lightly in gratitude.
Guntaka stood up and pushed his chair in. "Well, I guess I should be heading out. I got some supplies to grab for Souda. Don't be afraid alright Syo." he said as he packed up. Guntaka turned around to leave but stopped. He looked back at Syo and smiled once more. "Treat Nerdz right."
Syo looked down at the paper, 'Be Strong!' she looked up and saw Nerdz helping customers. Nerdz had a glow of joy around her, and Syo finally understood what the feeling was withing her, it was real feelings. She felt a feeling of love. "I fell in love with her ..." Syo muttered.

Chapter 5: Communication is Key
Chapter 5: Communication is Key
Syo built up all the courage to ask Nerdz out. She'd take her out today to do something romantic. It would be like a fairy tale puppet show that Nerdz would always watch as a filly. Syo knew what Nerdz was into. She sure did. Playing the moments in her head on loop over and over again. She had even made a special request. Syo would approach Nerdz, ask her out on a date and then they'd... date..?
Suddenly anxiety started to crack the courage walls Syo had made in her head. What if she messed up?! What if Nerdz said no?! WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF SHE SAYS YES THEN THE DATE FAILS?! Syo's head was filled with the negatives of asking her crush out. She needed more time? No, no! No more waiting. What if the feeling goes away, you need to live in the moment!
Her breath ran quick. Her heart pounded. Hours of thinking and planning it out perfectly in her head wasn't going to work, these things never work. Syo's eyes caught gaze of Nerdz who was trotting over to her.
Nerdz finished early today and she was running out of times. It was now or never. "Hiya!" Nerdz greeted Syo with a cheerful glow upon her face.
Syo think, think, think, think, think, think....
"WANNA GO OUT?" she blurted out without any thought. Syo gasped after she finished speaking realizing what she said. But instead of rejection she was given a positive response.
"Sure, where too?" Nerdz replied with a hopeful look.
Once again, Syo was placed in a situation filled where she had to do something. "F-follow me!" she muttered, grabbing Nerdz' hoof blushing lightly. Nerdz' face also lit with a light pink tint.
Syo let her 'date' down the street, passing by multiple color filled buildings and to a little cafe. It was small but quiet popular for it's brand. "Is this a princess cafe?" Nerdz asked Syo who was red completely.
"Y-yeah... This is a popular and one of my co-workers designed their outfits so I can come here whenever, have you been to one?" Syo explained. Nerdz shook her head. "You're in for a treat. They have lovely things here come on." The white pegasus held out her hoof out for the yellow one and she gladly took it.
Leading Nerdz inside she saw multiple ponies of different kinds all dressed up in fancy dresses serving mares and stallions, talking fancy and preforming on stage for them. The manage saw Syo and let her and her 'date' to a seat reserved. A small corner seat, a table for two. A cute little pink candle that lightened the mood and let off a sweetened scent.
"This is really pretty..." Nerdz looked around in awe. Her eyes showing a special sparkle that made Syo's heart flutter. "Are you sure you can afford this stuff? I hear it's pricey when it comes to the bill. I don't wanna over spend." a concerned look appeared.
Syo panicked. "No, don't worry about it! I know these ponies, plus I can pay for the bill. This is like a thank you for giving me the muffin today and trapping me with a teacher." she winked at Nerdz.
Nerdz on the other hand simply laughed. "Aww, you're so adorable!" Syo looked away and blushed deeply. "Anyways, I'm sorry I stuck you Guntaka. He's a real handful and since I noticed you were sleepy I told him to give you food. Plus I said you were magical and he didn't believe me. I get to show you off now!" A playful grin appeared on the yellow pegasai's face.
Before the playful banter could continue the two mares were greeted by their prince...princess? Before them was SJ in a princess dress. "How may I help you today my queens?" he said in a non-enthusiastic voice. His blue pegasus wings stood at the side of his frilly dress, he still wore his sunglasses a top his head but his hair was curled into a simple but fancy design.
"SJ?" Syo said in surprise.
SJ looked directly at Syo and Nerdz and recognized them. "W-what the?! What are you both doing here?!" Both mares blushed deeply unsure how to reply.
"Why are you in a dress?" Syo pointed out to draw him away from his question.
The stallion looked at the too mares and sighed. "They ran out of Stallion Uniforms and they only had dresses. Do me a favor, if you keep this a secret from the others I'll keep the whole you both being in here a secret." SJ sighed, face-hoofing.
The two mares agreed to keep their co-worker's dress secret and he promised not to tell the others they were in a princess cafe in the first place.
Nerdz happily took a sip from her iced-cider while Syo just had some grape soda. The two enjoyed some puddings and they watched SJ in a dress approach other guests and the 'princess' ponies preform. The feeling was like a date; but it wasn't. This wasn't a real date, at least not yet.
Once finished, Syo paid the bill and dragged Nerdz off to the next location. The sun was near to setting as they were in the cafe for almost five hours they rushed to the final location. A fancy boutique stood grand and tall before Nerdz and Syo. Her eyes scanned the entire thing in pure amazement. "Ready?" Syo asked. Nerdz with an excited look upon her face nodded and they walked inside. Once inside they were greeted by Minty Pad.
"Hi, Syo!" she bounced, she took a look at Nerdz. "Ah you're Miss Nerdz. I'm glad you both got here before closing. I was worried I might of had to keep open long! Come on in. Miss Nerdz I'll show you to the change room." Minty wrapped her wing around Nerdz leading her into the change room.
Nerdz was pushed into the change room and Syo stood in the store standing near the stage display where the change rooms lead. In only minutes the lights turned on. A hue of pink, blue, and purple appeared.
From the backside of the stage out came Nerdz. A pin of her cutie mark on her ear and hair, a silky and shiny dress made from various purple shades that sparkled in the light. The front chest was shades of magenta and her cutie mark was delicately sewn on the front. Her hair curled a little less than normal. She was completely stunning.
She blushed lightly. "D-Did you make this design....?" she said aloud looking directly at Syo.
Syo simply smiled. "I just sketched it, Minty made it. I work here, I put the order in this morning with another surprise actually." Minty Pad handed Syo a pink and black striped bag, Syo pulled out a cloth, unfolding it to reveal it was an apron. "It's the aprons I made for you and Mr. Souda, so surprise!" Syo eyes were heartfelt.
Nerdz walked down from the stage, and hugged Syo tightly. "Thank you. This is was so sweet." Resting her head on Syo's wing. Syo wrapped her other wing around Nerdz.
"It's not a big deal. I just wanted tonight to be special for you." Syo whispered.
Held in Syo's embrace Nerdz slid out. "Why is that?" she asked with a bit of confusion in her voice.
Syo was ready, this was the moment. Just tell her, tell her how you feel. The feeling was there the entire 'date' and her heart was pounding. Face red, her wings fluttered a bit in nervousness.
"I love you."
Syo said with a bit of a squeak.
Nerdz blushed, but it vanished in seconds. "Aw. I love you too!" she hugged Syo. "You're such a good friend." Friend. Friend. Friend. Syo planed this day for Nerdz and she ended it with 'friend' Syo felt a bit heartbroken but brushed the feeling away.
She laughed awkwardly. "Yeah, ah aha... Well let's go I'll take you home." Syo offered and Nerdz happily accepted. She trotted to the change room to get out of the dress.
Syo sat down on the cold floor in defeat. Minty walked over to Syo and patted her back with her wing. "You feeling alright? I know that you wanted her to react differently but I think she didn't under-" Syo cut Minty off.
Light tears flowed down her face. "I- I'm not entirely sure what I thought. Perhaps I was being to optimistic. Today was fun, yeah I won't lie. But I guess without knowing it was a 'date' she would see it as any other day. You can't call that a date can you?" She turned and faced Minty. "Thanks again for making the dress and apron in such a short amount of time. I understand you couldn't have done much but I appreciate it." She thanked. Pushing Minty's wing off her back and walking outside to wait for Nerdz.
Once Nerdz finished changing Syo took her home then flew home herself. Not saying anything romantic, just their simple goodbye's and off to her apartment. Walking up the stairs and into her room. She noticed the puppet of Nerdz sat on the floor in front of the door as if it was waiting for her to come home. Unhappy, Syo kicked the puppet to the side and taking a seat on the couch before sprawling across and falling asleep. Tears in her eyes due to a failed 'Date'
"This wasn't mean't to happen was it..." she muttered to herself quietly.

Chapter 6: Negative Natures
Morning breeze came through Nerdz window, flowing through her mane she prepared breakfast for herself. Finally after weeks of work she finally got the day off and she planned on spending it relaxing. "Good morning Canterlot!" she cheered within her home, her small pup Yoshi resting next to her food bowl.
Smiling down at the animal, preparing a meal for both her and the dog. "What do you wanna do today Yoshi?" she called to her puppy who responded by putting her paw on the empty food dish. Giggling at the dog she opened up the cupboard. Pulling out a rather light weighted bag of dog food, opening it up with suspicions she saw that she only had enough for one scoop. She sighed and emptied the bag in the dogs bowl.
"Guess I gotta grab some..." She sighed, throwing the empty bag in the trash. "So much for relaxing. I'll be right back Yoshi hold the fort down!" She said to her pet as she patted it's head gently. Reaching for her bag of bits she dropped it in the pouch she wore on her back and headed out.
Trotting down the road to the near store, she headed in to grab her pet some grub and return home hoping not to waste her day running around doing things.
Passing by multiple busy ponies headed to work or even leaving work. Some ponies stopping in the mist of the path taking a chat in which she flew over them in a breeze. Reaching the store it seemed more populated than regular. Ignoring it she went inside and saw a cluster of ponies in a huge line up.
Curiosity filled the mare and she decided to ask an employee for help.
"Excuse me sir, what's that line up about?" she asked the nearest colt.
The colt looked up at her and smiled, "Oh, there's a big contest. Some mare came in here with a bunch of prizes and stuff so ponies wanna win things." He explained. "It seems like a hoax in my eyes..." the colt sighed. "I have to work now. Sorry miss."
"That's alright, thank you!" She waved. Nerdz trotted around searching for dog food.
Humming melodies to herself, walking into the anime feed area. Continuing the melody she flew up and grabbed a heavy bag of dog food, nearly dropping it on the ground. Before it could an illuminating light appeared around it. "Oops! I'm so sorry!" Nerdz landed on the ground and bowed in apology.
The unicorn laughed. Nerdz looked up and saw a cream maned mare in pigtails. Her coat was a lovely shade of white and she wore a red bow. "It's quiet alright. Are you alright?" She put her hoof out for Nerdz. "Might I ask if you require assistants?" She gave her a warm smile.
A feeling resonated within Nerdz. That smile was identical to Syo's smile. "W-who are you?" Nerdz stumbled her words. "Why do you smile like her..." she muttered.
The mare laughed a bit. "My name is Cream Glow, I run a nation wide clothing company. I'm here to check up on the Canterlot location. And about the smile one, I'm unsure whom you're talking about." Cream explained.
"Cream Glow? Owner of Glow Heights?" She asked, and Cream nodded. "That means you hired Syo right?"
Cream nodded again. "That's right! Are you a friend of her, that's lovely! I'm glad she's making friends. I hired her a few years ago, so if we act similar that would explain it."
Nerdz didn't feel right. Their behavior seemed to similar. There was plenty of differences but- it was eerily similar. "Ah- yes... That would explain it." She wanted to leave now. "I have to go, thanks again for helping out!" Nerdz said, dragging the bag of dog food across the floor in an apparent struggle.
Except, Cream interfered. "Haha, nope!" She picked up the dog food with her magic. "Any friend of my pupil Syo, is a comrade of my own. Plus you don't seem like you'd be able to push this all the way to you're home, allow me to take you home." Once again, that uneasy feeling set in. It finally hit her.
"Miss Cream are you related to a Flare Glow?" Nerdz asked keeping up with Cream's pace.
She stopped and laughed a bit. "Ah. I see you've met my disappointment for a sister." She had a grim look on her face. "She's hardly anything special in my opinion. She just copies ponies. It's her talent, quiet pathetic isn't it..." Nerdz was in shock from how Cream was towards her sibling. Nerdz had heard from papers and the news that Cream Glow was an angle. "Plus, after Syo started learning from me she had this huge ego trip! Like, honestly. Her attempt at imitating Syo, pathetic." Cream Glow's nature wasn't anything that was documented on. Her nature seemed cruel to those who failed at things.
"Ahem.. So what's your occupation?" Cream looked over at Nerdz as they walked through the check out isle.
Nerdz sweat a bit. "Oh, I work at SouBakes." She said trying to smile.
Cream gave her this odd look. "Ah, I see. Lovely bakery I heard." Cream paid for the dog food and carried it through Canterlot making small talk with Nerdz the entire time. During this, Nerdz took notice of Cream's cutie mark. It was a mirror and a dress. The mirror seemed similar to Flare's mirror.
"Cream, what's that mirror on your cutie mark mean? Flare has one just like that." Nerdz asked out of sheer curiosity.
"It's just mean's I'm stylish silly. Flare just copies ponies. That's what her's mean." She sneered a bit as she mentioned. "Say, has Syo ever told you about her past?" Cream brought up.
Nerdz just shook her head, "No? Why?" Cream just chuckled lightly.
"It figures, well let me tell you a little story about how Syo and I are so similar... I assume you know of Syo's magic?" Nerdz nodded and Cream sighed. "I guess she's comfortable with it then. Let's see, where to begin." The unicorn pondered in thoughts. "From the beginning then." She laughed. Nerdz had this confused look on her face but Cream didn't care.
"It all started with her moving in with Flare and I."

Chapter 7: Memories and Faked Promises

Chapter 7: Memories and Faked Promises
"It starts off with a baby pegasus being born...." Cream started.....
A baby pegasus was born into the world, her coat was a white and she had the powers of a unicorn. She was born to a pegasus and a unicorn. Inheriting the power from her mother, she had the ability to levitate objects with the most basic of magic. Even though she was a pegasus the doctors were still confused on how she has magic and deemed it a birth defect. So her parents decided to send her to a foal care, one to help and train unicorns magic for unstable ponies. Even though she wasn't a unicorn or didn't have unstable magic it was for her to better her skill.
So they sent her off to a place unknown, the big city of Manehatten to live with a family of unicorns who had twins whom also had no control of their magic.
One cute unicorn named Cream Glow and one brute and copy cat unicorn Flare Glow. The pegasus who had magic was named Devlin Syo. Cream, Flare, and Devlin all got along well, Flare and Devlin got along the best.
On days where Flare would be bullied she'd be defended by Devlin, her elder twin ignored her and focused on her work so both fillies decided to make deals and promises to each other.
"I promise to keep you safe and help you, and I vow to show you all the kindness I have in my heart for you!" the pegasus bowed to Flare.
Flare on the other hand blushed, "Aww." She smiled, "I promise to love you forever!"
Both fillies caught in their own fantasy world. They saw it as, the real world didn't want rejects, so they didn't want the world. Of course they still learned magic and how to best use their, Devlin only knew how to use levitation magic and to release bursts of magic, but it required a cool-down period that equaled to at least a week. While Flare learned how to use magic that mostly revolved around certain spells.
But their magical differences didn't matter to them, they just wanted to be with each other forever.
One fateful day Flare came up with an idea. The raced around the house carrying a spell book searching for Devlin. Noticing the pegasus sleeping she woke her up in a quick haste. "Get up! I have something I wanna try out!" She shook her best friend. The pegasus made some grumbles and flapped her wings a quick way of telling Flare she was awake.
"Great!" Flare sat down on the floor and opened her book. "It's a spell that binds magic! It says it's a spell meant for two unicorns or more with a powerful bond! It says that once used both ponies will be connected together by souls and magic, so our magic spells can mix together you'll be able to learn more spells!" Flare clapped her hooves together.
Devlin wore an uneasy look. "I'm not sure, I'm not a unicorn Flare. It might fail and who know's what might happen..." she looked down. The red tip of her mane fell in front of her eye.
Unlike Devlin who was concerned, Flare just laughed. "Don't worry, I promise you'll be fine! Let's try it!" Devlin sighed and complied with Flare, getting off the bed and onto the floor. The two fillies looked over the spell book and got the gist of the spell.
"We just have to take a piece of us and fuse it together in a spell?" Devlin read aloud. Looking over the spell making sure that they didn't miss a single thing.
Flare nodded in confidence. She spit on the floor and smiled cheeky. "Ehehe! You're turn!" Devlin rolled her eyes and turned to the side of the bed, on the table was a pair of scissors, she picked them up with her magic and sliced the tip of her red bangs off and laid it where Flare had spit.
The two stood up and stood across from each other. Flare's horn began illuminating a pink light around the pieces and Devlin's right eye began to glow a strong purple hue also lighting around the pieces.
Their lights began mixing together, and so did the objects, the two fills wore a pained look on their faces as the process was difficult and grueling. Their pieces were in the air surrounded by the fused magical lights. "Now!" Flare shouted at Devlin.
Devlin released a burst of magical energy almost equal to size of a baby foal. The magic surrounded the two mares before a blast of light overcame their vision.
Collapsed on the floor the first pony two wake up was Devlin. Looking at her hooves, instead of the regular bits of red she saw in front of her eyes instead was a blue tip. "Is- is this from Flare's DNA?" she muttered, approaching Flare shaking the small filly lightly. Flare moved slowly, but enough to reveal a light red marking on her head. It wasn't anything exactly but it was just a marking.
"D-did it work?" Flare got up slowly. Her eyes burning a bit from the light. Her eyes drawn to her friends blue tipped mane instead of her regular red tipped mane. She instantly began laughing and smiling. "It's worked! I'm so glad it worked!" jumping up and down, she touched Devlin's mane. "It's beautiful."
The fillies spent the rest of the day running around laughing and looking at their new look, testing out their magic. Days, passed and they spent each day the same. Playing and training.
Eventually the two fillies were sent to school, Flare and Devlin had attended classes together despite Devlin was a pegasus. The teacher said it was just a mix up even though it wasn't the truth.
One day though, Flare came home with tears in her indigo eyes. Devlin ran over to her best friend and wrapped her wing around her. "What's wrong Flare?" she asked, concern and worry over taking her.
Flare's eyes drawn to the ground. "It was horrible... A bunch of colts from magic class were mocking you. They called you a freak of nature." she wiped her tears away. "When I told them to quit it, they starting teasing me..." Flare made a hiccup noise from her tears. "I'm sorry, I'm crying..."
Devlin patted her with her wing. "Calm down. I'll go talk to them. Stay here, and smile for me." She turned to leave but Flare grabbed her hoof. The pegasus laughed a bit. "If this world is vile and it becomes your foe.." she started. "I wish for you to remember this, I'll always protect you and I'll do what you'd like me to do, after all we're bonded by magic and souls." Devlin kissed Flare's forehead and Flare blushed lightly. "Smile for me, and I'll make everything fine. You'll go to school with a very happy heart and everything will be harmonized."
Flare let go slowly and Devlin flew off to the school grounds where she knew the colts would be. While she was gone, Flare was just quiet, awaiting for her friend to return. Hours had passed, within that time both Flare's parents returned home and even Cream arrived home. Devlin never did though. It was nearly time for dinner and Flare panicked entirely. But, Devlin finally returned home.
"Where have you been?!" Flare shouted, her eyes lightly watering.
Then Mr. Glow walked in the room. "Devlin we've been worried, where did you go off to?!" He asked stern.
Devlin looked away, "I went for a flight. I need to focus of flying as well as magic." She answered.
"Just don't be out for a late time. Today we'll let you off with this warning." He sighed, turning and walking into the kitchen.
Flare looked concerned. "Devlin... You're eyes look tired, what did you do?"
Devlin shook her head in response, "Nothing... I protected you..." Devlin's eyes were grayed a bit and she slowly made her way upstairs. "I'm not eating tonight.." She said as she shut the door to her room behind her.
Flare had a worried look on her face but ignored it. After all, they were forever bonded... They wouldn't lie to each other. "Goodnight..." Flare smiled looking up at Devlin, her eyes tear a bit. "Thank you."
After dinner, Flare simply goes to bed. Passing by Devlin's room, instead of knocking and seeing if she was fine, Flare just walked past not saying a single thing. Going into her sisters room and taking the bed to the left of the room, curling up alone in bed in the dark. Flare had something inside her that made her feel guilt. Cream wouldn't care though, she's too busy for school. Silently weeping in the darkness Flare forced herself to sleep.
That night, Flare heard things as if it was a nightmare. It started off with Cream getting out of bed to answer their fathers call. Then it followed a scream of Devlin's name. Then the door was shut from Flare's room preventing her from seeing the silhouettes in the hallway moving around. The unease of the unknown filled her, curious she went outside her room and saw something she didn't wanna see.
"What... what's going on..." Flare asked leaving the room, seeing everypony in her household. Her father worn a stern look and her mother wore a fearful look. Her sister had a smirk with a suitcase filled with what seemed like clothing. Beside her was Devlin? Devlin held a book and a suitcase filled with clothes. "What's going on?" she asked again. Her mom looked down, her eyes looked down. "W-what's happening? Where's everyone?!"
Her father sighed. "Flare. Devlin is leaving for Canterlot tonight with Cream. We were told by the parents of the colts in you're magic class that she injured them! May you please explain why she went there? Devlin said she was just having a violent urges. That's why we are sending her away with Cream. Do you know know why she went back to school?" Mr. Glow asked Flare, a fire in his eyes.
"I left on my own wishes, sir. Flare came home to no one. Why must you question her?" Devlin asked, "That's a stupid thing to do, to doubt one's daughter makes me believe you aren't a smart stallion."
Mr. Glow gritted his teeth a bit. "Fine." He muttered, turning around. "I'm gonna call a cab pony. You say you're goodbyes." He leaves the room, Cream and Mrs. Glow follow after him leaving Devlin and Flare all alone.
"What did you do?!" Flare rushed over to Devlin and got in her face, "What happened?!" she panicked. "Devl-"
Devlin cut her off. "I go by Syo now alright." she sighed, wrapping her wings around Flare. "I'm not going to see you for a long, long time. So I'm sorry. When I went to the school the colts were refusing to comply and decided to hit me with magic so I did the same except I aimed for their foreleg's and ended up spraining them."
Devlin felt something cold hit her wing. It was tears? Flare's eyes filled with tears and they began flooding. "W-why wouldn't you tell me?! I thought you trusted me! We're bonded..." she cried.
Sighing, the pegasus let go of the unicorn. "When you're older, come visit me. I'll welcome you with open hooves." Devlin walked away. Not saying a goodbye, she picked up her luggage and her book and left. Flare sat there all alone, in tears.
After that day, she didn't see Syo for seven years. When she moved to Canterlot finally, she was simply greeted by Syo who was working the shop and Cream who had to leave for Manehatten to open another shop. She put Flare in charge of the storage facility and Syo in charge of everything else.
Whenever Flare attempted to talk with Syo she was ignored entirely. Syo wished not to speak while working. Flare on the other hoof was filled with rage. She was simply being stupid. Because, Syo loves her. Their bonded forever.

Chapter 9: Special Nights
Nerdz slightly twitched. A knock on her door had woken her up from her sleep. Yoshi barked and yipped at the door. "Shh Yoshi," Nerdz patted the small dog on the head as a second knock was heard. "Coming!"
Stepping off the couch she stepped around papers and opened the door. On the other end of the door was her white coated Pegasus friend Syo.
"Ah! H-hey, how's it going?" Devlin greeted, slightly startled by Nerdz.
Nerdz titled her head, "It's going great? What's going on?" she asked.
Syo took a moment to compose herself. "So, I got a message from Soul that the progress of the whole puppet theater is taking a bit longer than expected. I was told to tell you since we hang out more"
"Oh? That's alright? Why did Soul tell you? I thought that mare always with him would tell you. She's kinda the secretary." Nerdz brought up.
Syo shrugged. "Ehh. I got mad at her and a couple of the others. They got all emotionally heartbroken for some stupid reason. I don't go to the building anymore." she let out an awkward laugh.
The yellow coated Pegasus turned and looked at her messy home. "So, you love me right?" she smiled.
A light blush appeared on Syo's face. "Y-yeah, Ahaha!" she responded, playing it off as a joke.
Nerdz smiled. "Wanna help clean my house?" she asked, stepping to the side revealing her messy home. Even though she flipped her tables papers and knickknacks were all on the floor.
Syo sighed. "Yeah sure, whatever you like."
Syo entered the messy home and stretched. "So, uh. Can I call you Devlin?" Nerdz asked.
This caught the mare off guard, "How do you know my name?" Syo asked as she turned to face Nerdz.
"Cream Glow told me. I met her today when I went to go get Yoshi food" she had explained.
Syo paused for a moment thinking about an answer. "Sure. Yeah." she responded. "Call me whatever you please."
So, for almost three hours they cleaned up. Continuously giving each other nicknames and recommending some. Like Stumpy Marshmallow or Kawaii Fairy.
Once they finished Nerdz stretched her wings. "I need a good fly, wanna join?" The yellow pegasus offered. Syo nodded and the two mares took off soaring over Canterlot.
As they flew over the city. It seemed like a firework show was starting. Syo led Nerdz down. A young unicorn was holding a show.
Her peach tone coat sparkled. Her blonde mane moved slowly but majestically, streaks of her mane were black.
Nerdz' eyes began glowing. "My dreams!" she gushed, the Pegasus jumped up an down like a school pony getting ice-cream.
Syo tilted her head. "Who's that?" she asked.
Nerdz shushed her. "No, no. She's amazing. She's one of Equestria's top performers."
Syo didn't continue to question Nerdz who was having a blast. Syo glanced back at Nerdz every couple of seconds to make sure she had that glow in her eyes.
Sure enough, she had that glow. Syo's heart pounded faster and faster. The show was nearing an end.
"Mares and Gentle Colts! As a special gift for some special pony I will be throwing my special cape into the crowd!" The unicorn declared. She held up a green silky cape. Nerdz started jumping up and down.
"I WANT IT! I NEED IT DEVLIN!" Nerdz shouted at her. "We're too far, we'll never get it."
Syo smiled. "Leave it to me." she patted Nerdz on the back. She slowly made her way to the front. The unicorn smiled at the crowd and threw the Cape into the air.
Both unicorn and pegasai alike jumped for it. Pegasai flew, Unicorns used magic. The way to get it was hold it down on the ground.
Syo flew into the air, snatching it from two ponies, she used her magic and created a field around herself as she hit the dirt, making sure not to ruin the cape.
Ponies looked at Syo as she remained in her small ball of magic. Some seemed surprised, others didn't. That didn't matter though, Syo had the cape in her hooves. Handing the cape to Nerdz she flipped her mane.
"Told you I'd get it?" she smiled.
Nerdz rolled her eyes as she placed it on. "Ahaha, whatever." she responded as she hugged Syo. The two mares walked home.

Reaching Nerdz home welcomed Syo in. "I'll make us some tea." Nerdz smiled. Syo being the curious pony she was decided to look at Nerdz literature collection.
Nothing seemed out of place. A particular book caught her eye though. 'The Hat Story' what an odd story.
Syo picked it up and sat down. Nerdz came in only seconds after Syo had opened it.
The cover was easy to identify which story it was. Nerdz jumped at Syo tackling her. "Don't read that! It's not a good book you should read something I wrote!" she pointed at a book with a purple cover.
Syo rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Okay." The Pegasus stood up and brushed herself off.
It seemed like a magical evening.
The two mares spend the rest of that night, simply laughing, and bonding. It was perfect. It was very perfect.

Syo trotted home that night. Silent in blush from the few moments prior. Nerdz looked overjoyed, and Syo couldn’t help but feel happy for her. It made her happy and her heart flutter. She knew that Nerdz only saw her as a friend but still- seeing Nerdz happy made her strive for something more. She just needed to play her cards right.
Walking into her apartment she collapsed on to the bed. She heard her neighbors playing the piano. She had no reason to complain, it was a lullaby of sorts to her. Staring up at her hooves. The hooves that she had used to catch Nerdz the cape.
Shutting her eyes, her mind laid to rest for the night…

Syo woke up, her eyes sparkled. She felt as if she needed to try again. ‘Be Confident’ was all she told herself. Brushing her mane she flew off toward the bakery. Surprising enough, Syo reached there before Nerdz had arrived. Stepping inside the soft jingle of the bell rang.
Mr. Souda the man who ran the bakery ran out of the back to just see Syo. “Ah, Good day missy.” Souda greeted Syo. “The lass isn’t here yet, would you like to order something?”
Pausing for a moment, Syo nodded in response. “Yes sir.” she smiled. “I- I’d like whatever Nerdz would order for me, please.” Syo trotted over to the counter where she would pay for the meal. Handing Syo the muffin she walked over to the table, carrying the muffin on a cute place. Resting it down she pulled out a slip of paper and silently sketched as she waited for Nerdz to arrive.
Even though Syo had work, she was in charge of designing the dresses, so she didn’t need to be at work a lot. She just had to constantly draw which wasn’t a bother to the pegasus. She enjoyed her work very much.
The morning rush came through, Nerdz had arrived and was working. Syo wanted to ask her out but that wouldn’t be professional. If Nerdz had rejected her, she wouldn’t want the awkward mood to dampen on her work. She couldn’t bare the thought of Nerdz getting fired and it being her fault.
Hours passed, it was time for Nerdz to clock out. It was already one in the afternoon. Just in time for lunch. Nerdz sat down with Syo, her green orbs passing over the dresses. “Hey there sleepy!” Nerdz greeted her friend with a soft smile.
Syo in fact, looked as if she was about to collapse. The exhausted look disappeared the moment Nerdz’ voice was heard. Syo smiled softly at the mare in front of her, the softness of her yellow coat shined in the sunlight.
“Greetings, uhm…” Syo trailed off. Trying to think about how she would ask Nerdz out. Wanting to not appear desperate she sighed. “Do you, wanna head out. Go to a buffet? I know a good one nearby.”
The yellow coated pegasus nodded lightly. “Really, sure! I’m really hungry so I could go for a buffet right now!” Devlin smiled at the response. The girls leaving the bakery, all the sketches in Devlin’s satchel.
Trotting down the road they took time to admire the city once more. Canterlot was quite the sight.
Breathtaking.
Syo looked at Nerdz when she thought this. The sight would mean nothing to her if Nerdz wasn’t at her side.
Reaching the inside of the buffet the girls served themselves. Eating food and partaking in chit chat with each other. Talking about dreams, old stories, and other stuff. Nerdz had discovered the chocolate fountain resulting in a slight squeal.
Nerdz ate chocolate dipped marshmallows, Syo on the other hand was opposed to chocolate. Disliking the taste slightly, she simply ate fruit. “So, Devlin. What time did you wake up today?” Nerdz asked, breaking the silence.
“I’m not sure when I woke up.” Syo responded quietly. She had remained silent due to the fact that Nerdz kept looking at a table of stallions. The one she was staring at the most was a stallion with a good build body structure. He was a simple earth pony but looked tough like most. His coat was a deep warm chocolate, with a brown mane that looked as if it were fading into black. He wore a simple hooded cape that was a light red which matched his eyes.
Syo grunted every time Nerdz looked at him. In an attempt to eat a marshmallow she had missed her mouth and hit the side of her face. The boy caught Nerdz’ mistake, he smiled sweetly at her.
Nerdz looked away blushing. “Aah..” she squealed to herself. She looked up at her friend who looked unamused. She giggled at Syo, which caused her to smile. “Isn’t he cute?” Nerdz whispered to her friend.
Letting out an uninterested grunt she looked away. “I dunno… I guess.” She murmured, barely loud enough for Nerdz to hear. She didn’t care. Some random colt was getting all the attention that she wanted.
The colt stood up with his friends. He smiled at Nerdz one last time, motioning slight wave. Nerdz returned the wave with her wing. She gushed. Syo frowned. Glaring daggers at the boy, her pink eyes shifted to a darker shade, reaching the colour red. “Nerdz…” Syo said a loud.
Nerdz’ attention were put back on her friend. “Oh, yes?” Nerdz responded as if that interactment never happened.
“You have chocolate on your face.” Syo responded. Nerdz face lit up in an embarrassing blush. Nerdz rubbed off the chocolate until there was nothing left. Her cheek burned from the furious rubbing.
“You should have told me!” Nerdz laughed at Syo.
Syo shook her head, her mane shifting along with her. “Nah. You looked cute with the chocolate on your face.” Nerdz blushed madly.
Eventually the girls finished up eating. “I’ll go pay, you wait outside.” Syo motioned for Nerdz to leave so she wouldn’t know the bill.
Trotting outside stood the stallion from inside with his friends. Nerdz felt the blood rush through her veins. He noticed her and walked over. “Excuse me,” the said to Nerdz, snapping her out the trance she had been in. “I uh. I know we don’t know each other but I was wondering if we could hang out sometime?”
As if time was against the white pegasus mare. She stook a step outside. Staring at Nerdz. She was talking to him. Syo saw the blush on the mare’s face, and she wasn’t the one causing her to blush. A rough, jagged feeling ripped through her heart. She forced herself to smile but unfortunately, waterworks began.
This was never a date. It would never ever be a date. Why would she be optimistic? There was no point in lying to herself. Nerdz didn’t return her feelings and she should suck it up and stop crying.
Turning away, Syo flew toward the direction of the store. She needed to vent.
Nerdz, not noticing her friend leave, she made plans with the colt. Eventually standing near the doors. Awaiting for her dear friend, wanting to thank her for taking her out. But she never came. The weather shifted and the rain poured. Nerdz flew home as fast as her wings could go. She felt an uneasy feeling in her stomach.
