It couldn't be any better. They were never apart. Not day, not night. Well almost never. Princess Celestia got a new task for Twilight that she had to research on. In other words, the alicorn practically never left the castle library anymore. Since Dash got bored of being alone in the rooms or flying around alone, she often joined Twilight in the library. She didn't help research though. She just stayed with Twilight in the room. Dash often found herself asleep while Twilight was studying. It became the only place where she could find any rest anymore anyways. If she was with Twi, everything was okey. A few days later Dash was in the bedroom. She had gotten bored of laying on the floor surrounded by books. Though she couldn't find rest in here.. and she was pretty sure the reason right now was the pain in her mid-section. It was a pain she never felt before. The next half hour or so she laid down on the bed, trying to find a position that would ease the pain. Then she got up and walked around. Feeling dizzy and on jelly-like legs she got back on the bed. Over and over again. Something was definitely wrong. She needed Twilight. She got down from the bed, opened the door, walked down the stairs and entered the library. "Twi.." she whined. For some reason she felt like crying right now. The alicorn looked up from her book. She gave Dash a concerned look. "Dash, what's wrong?" She put the book aside and walked over to Dash's side. "I don't know.. it hurts and I don't feel so good..." Dash felt even weaker than before and had to sit down. And why did she feel so hot? Now Twilight got Really concerned. Was it something she ate? Was she coming down with something? She wrapped a wing around the Pegasus' back, trying to make her relax a bit. Twilight then checked the Pegasus' temperature with her foreleg. Nothing suspicious.. Dash laid down, groaning in pain. Her entire abdomen felt like it was on fire, stabbed by needles and knifes. Twilight never left her side for the next two hours. Dash finally fell asleep. The alicorn was too scared to leave her beloved little Pegasus alone. The next day After getting tired, Twilight had levitated Dash with her up in their bed, careful enough to not wake her up. It was early in the morning when Dash woke up. She felt.. different. She sat up And noticed something Very different. Her belly was swollen. Had she gotten fat? How do you gain mere pounds over night that it shows? Panicking she got down from the bed and walked over to the bathroom. She needed a mirror. Right. Now. 'This can't be happening.. I can't let anyone see me like this!' She did the one thing she could think of. She let her wings down a bit, just enough to cover it. 'That's it little missy. No more heavy food until All of This is gone again!' Suddenly she got angry at herself. Not just angry, she wanted to destroy the mirror, throw her head against a wall, anything. She got furious! "Rainbow?" 'Shit! Twi! She can't see me like this.. okey, just play it cool.' "Dash is everything okey in here?" The alicorn said as she walked inside. Making sure her wings were hiding what was meant to be hidden, she turned to the alicorn. "Y-yeah, I'm fine.." Not really convinced, the alicorn answered "Are you sure? We could always get you to a doctor.. you really didn't look so good yesterday.." 'Right.. why wasn't I feeling well yesterday anyways? I've never heard of somepony getting sick from gaining weight..' "Rainbow..?" 'Oh Ponyfeathers.. I just don't know what's wrong with me..' Whimpering, she finally closed her eyes, letting the tears flow down her face. This caught Twilight completely off guard. Later Twilight was studying Dash's every movement. And found the Pegasus doing everything slowly and carefully. That got her Really worried. She also noticed that the Pegasus never really closed her wings. Was something wrong with her joints? She knew from experience that holding your wings the wrong ways, it's painful. "Dash, maybe we should really let you get checked out.." "Why? I'm fine!" Then she got an idea. "Come here." Twilight tapped her hoof on the bed, where enough space for the Pegasus was. Dash slowly walked over, placing her fore hooves on the mattress. She didn't want to jump up, and she couldn't flap her wings or Twilight would see her form. Not knowing what to do, she stood there like this for a few more seconds before retreating to the ground. "I.. I can't.." She said, avoiding eye contact with Twilight. "Why not? Dash, what's wrong..?" "What if it hurts the-" She stopped herself. 'Dang where did that come from..' "What if it hurts the 'what', Dash?" "THE FOAL" Twilight blinked at Dash's sudden outburst. "What foal?!" Dash looked away again. "Dash WHAT FOAL?!" "I don't know, okey?! I don't know why I'm thinking like this!" It was too late. Twilight jumped and teleported, pinning the Pegasus with her back to the floor. Dash turned her head away from Twilight, her eyes closed, hoping she wouldn't kill her. Twilight's gaze went down the Pegasus' body. She touched her belly, receiving a flinch from the Pegasus. She was sensitive there. No question. Feeling betrayed, shocked and without being able to think straight, Twilight's horn glowed and she disappeared in a flash of light in her library, locking the door. 'Just what the hell is going on...' Dash thought and started to cry again. Her wailing soon got loud enough to get Spike's attention. The dragon came up the stairs to find the Pegasus sobbing on the floor. "Rainbow? What's going on? Where's Twilight?" "I DON'T K-KNOOW!!!" She cried out. "Woa, did you two have a fight?" "Sorta.." she sniffed. "Come on.. tell me what happened.." Dash hesitantly lifted her wing, revealing Spike her 'problem'. Library 'This.. this is impossible! No pony can get that much visible over a few days.. even if it happened more than two months ago or something.. but why would she even betray me? Her of all ponies! Oh.. what was I thinking.. But it couldn't be simple weight gain either.. I would have noticed.. what is going on with my Dashie...' "Twilight? You in there?" "Yes Spike.." "Twi, we need to talk." "I know.." She unlocked the door. Spike entered. "Twilight, whatever is going on with Dash right now.. it's nothing good." "I know.." "And leaving her alone up there crying her eyes out is not helping!" Twilight froze. "I'm sorry.." "I'm not the one You should be apologizing to. Don't you think?" "Y-yeah.." She got up and entered the bedroom where Dash was lying curled up on the bed. "..Dash?" Her eyes blinked, turning to see Twilight, then looked away again. "Rainbow I'm sorry.. it was just.. unexpected." She hopped onto the bed next to the Pegasus. "I know..." "Come on, I want you to get checked out." Dash looked at her, then nodded once and sighed. Doctors Office Dash was lying on her back on the bed. Doctor Stables first touched her belly and was now trying to see something with the ultrasonic wave. It was a very uncomfortable feeling for the Pegasus. After trying to find any tumors or foals, he turned to the two. "So, you said she was acting rather strange these days. That could be mood swings. She's also sensitive in certain areas, such as abdomen, breasts and wings. Nausea, rather rarely actual throwing up. Sometimes she's not gonna want to eat something, other times she can't get enough." "So.. what's the problem? She's not really pregnant or has a terminal disease, or?!" "No, Miss Sparkle. No worries. She's just false pregnant." "False pregnant?" Both asked at the same time. "Well, yes. As she is still rather young, it's highly possible for her. It's all the hormones." "How long am I gonna be like this?" "Well, that's hard to say. Weeks, maybe months." "Months?!" "It's also very likely that it will happen again. But no need to worry, it won't stay that way forever." Dash groaned.
