Dash was silent on the entire train ride back home. Twilight was getting worried about her. It was never a good sign if Dash was silent. That meant only one thing: she was thinking. And whenever Dash was thinking... she didn't have good thoughts.

"Rainbow?" Twilight started.

The Pegasus turned to her. Sometimes the alicorn wished she had abilities like her marefriend, just so she could feel how she was feeling and hear her thoughts...

"It's alright. You are not alone in this. I am here for you. Forever." The alicorn said and pulled the Pegasus into a hug.

"Mares and Gentlecolts, we have reached Ponyville Station."

"That's us! We are home!" Pinkie cheered.

Finally..

---Friendship Castle---

Twilight was busy unpacking her bags when suddenly a 'whoosh' sound was heard, followed by a door being slammed shut. Twilight shook her head. I can't leave her alone for five minutes.

The alicorn got up and went over to the bathroom door. She knocked.

"Dash when you're done, we have to talk." Twilight called with a stern voice. Then she went back to continue unpacking. For a moment she wondered why she took all those things with her. But what made her wonder the most was why she took the checklist with her too.

While Twilight was in thought, her marefriend silently approached her.

"Twi?" The sudden sound of her voice almost startled her to death. "You wanted to talk with me?"

Twilight finally turned to the Pegasus behind her.

"Um, yes. I wanted to talk with you about something Luna told me."

The simple thought of what they could have possibly been talking about made the Pegasus blush.

"Dash, I want you to use me as your Lulu. You can't do this on your own. And I won't just sit and watch, either. I'm going to help you. But you have to do your part, too." Twilight lectured.

Dash sighed. "Yeah.. I know.."

Twilight put her fore legs on the Pegasus shoulders. "We can get through this. Together."

Dash let the words sink in, then she nodded. Determination masked her face.

The two ponies laid on their bed, Twilight was preening Dash's wings again. And for the first time in a long while, the Pegasus seemed to relax a bit. She had been so tense these last few days and had not once used her wings. Which was probably the reason the Pegasus rarely ate anything.

It was a scene the alicorn was all too familiar with by now. All of the sudden, the Pegasus was completely tense again. When Twilight stopped preening and turned her head around, she noticed that the Pegasus was biting her lip nervously.

"Dash, you only have to say the word." Twilight said softly.

The Pegasus sighed. "Lulu..."

Twilight couldn't help but smile. Her horn glowed and with a flash the Pegasus was in the bathroom.

At least Twilight is kind enough to give me privacy. Luna always stayed with me..

Thinking back, Dash shuddered at the thought of being watched. Wasting no time at all, she got rid of her 'protection', which was visible since they had gotten home because she didn't feel the need to hide it from Twilight and Spike.

Twilight found herself writing in her diary.

Rainbows trust is growing, I can feel it. I hate what I had to put her through, but I hope in the end it was worth it. Hopefully she soon just says the word without me having to tell her to.

Twilight smiled. She heard hooves coming and put her things away.

"Ready to continue preening those beautiful wings of yours?" Twilight asked.

"You bet!" Dash said and jumped back on the bed.

Spike was on his way to bed. He opened the door to the bedroom and was met by a sight he really did not want to see.

"Urgh! Seriously you two! Twilight, when do I get my own room?!"

The two ponies on the bed could help but laugh at the dragon.

"You're still not over it? Seriously?" Dash laughed.

Spike groaned, grabbed his pillow and blanket. "I'm sleeping in the living room!" He called angrily and left the room, slamming the door.

Twilight and Dash exchanged glances before Dash burst out in laughing. Twilight only smirked knowingly at her marefriend. She knew that Dash had not meant their relationship, but Spike und Rarity's.

"Come on, we should probably get to sleep." Twilight said.

The next day was gonna be hard for Rainbow.

"Hey Rainbow?" Twilight started.

"Yeah?"

"What do you think about telling our friends?"

"..tell our friends what?"

"Well, about your little problem."

"No way."

"Why not?"

"They would laugh at me!"

"Why would they? None of it is your fault."

"It.. Well.. I..."

"I'll be right by your side. Just like when you told the rest of us about your magic. It's gonna be fine." Twilight reassured.

Dash hesitated. But after a moment, she nodded.

Later that day they had all of their friends over.

"So, did ya finally get her to tell us?" Applejack whispered to Twilight as she walked by. What she didn't know was how amazing Dash's hearing was.

"Yeah. After this whole trip, I think she trusts you guys more now." Twilight answered in the same silent whisper.

"You did that on purpose?!?!" Rainbow suddenly stood right behind the alicorn, her yell almost startling the alicorn to death.

"Well.." Twilight thought for a moment. Lying wouldn't get her anywhere, Dash would know. "Yes. Yes I did. But let me explain."

"You better have a really good reason for torturing me." She glared at the alicorn.

"Alright. The way you reacted when the girls came over after you told me about it, I knew you didn't trust them as much as me. But you really shouldn't keep secrets from your best friends. You know we would never make fun of you for anything."

Dash's glare softened and she looked around into the smiling faces of her friends.

"Twilight has a point, darling. And it would have been an honor if you would have come to me. I would love to design you some outfits that can hide your, um, protection in a stylish way."

Dash looked down at the enchanted necklace around her neck.

"We all love you soooo much, Dashie!!!"

"You mean way too much for us to ever make fun of you. We will always help you wherever we can. If you want us to, that is."

Dash couldn't help but tear up from her friends words. She took the necklace off and threw it on the floor. They all came together in one colorful group hug.

Maybe some secrets don't need to be secrets after all?
