War is a fucked up place. Especially when three tyrants decide to team up. Queen Umbra has gotten assistance from King Metamorphosis and Eris. They have initiated all of Equestria into the Great War 2. Another problem has arisen from the forges of war. The Titan Project. The titan project was to build massive robots to aid Eris’s and Umbra’s troops in the thick of battle. Oh were those fuckers hard to kill. We’ve only been able to take out a dozen, but we lose more and more troops than they’re worth. We need a miracle to tip this war back in our favor.
“Captain Gleaming Shield, I need cover fire on my six.” said Flare Warden.
“Kinda busy right now.” said Gleaming as she was being chased yet again.
“Well if you don’t hurry I’m going to be shot out of the sky ag--” Flare warden said as her was shot for the third time this year. She quickly ejected and landed safely. That’s when one of the titans shot a missile at them. Gleaming quickly used her magic to block the missile’s explosion before they were harmed.
“Snipes, have you found the energy core, and where the hell is pipsqueak she should be back now.” commanded Gleaming Shield.
“Well she captured ma’am and yes we can see move on three. Three!!!” two voices said over the mic.The explosion was huge and was clearly seen where they were holding Pipsqueak.
“Thirteen,” said one of the sniper twins.
“Haha, those dumbasses touched Pips gun. She is so going to rip their fucking organs out, and we have a front row seat.” said the other sniper twin.
“Sergeant Flare you're with me we need to go get Pipsqueak and get the fuck out of here.” said Captain Gleaming Shield.
“Roger that!” said Flare Warden back.
“Deadeye, are you sure that’s her?” asked Gleaming Shield as she and Flare Warden killed the remaining changelings.
“Scan complete, that’s her.” replied Deadeye.
“Alright then head to the jet, we will rendezvous there and leave.” said Gleaming Shield as she cut down Pipsqueak.
“Thank’s Captain.” said Pipsqueak as she grabbed her Ump 45 and ran out of the holding center.
Gleaming Shield Gave her a quick nod. “Firefly are you still up there.”
“Yes,” she responded “What’s the problem.”
“We need you to come pick us up. Mission Accomplished.” she said over the radio. That’s when fucking Eris decides to show up. She shot Firefly out of the sky and critically injured there aces, Snipes and Deadeye.
“Medic, Firefly are you okay.” Gleaming said as she heard no reply. “Firefly!!!” still no reply.
“Eject failure she’s... dead Captain.” said Pipsqueak with Fireflies dog tags in her hand.
“Well girls it fucking looks like we're walking,” she said sadly trying to fight the tears of there friends loss. She carried Snipes while Pipsqueak carried Deadeye. Flare Warden had to carry her friends body all the way home.
Solaris’ Castle...
“Dusk, how’s the project coming along?” asked Solaris.
“You tell me?” asked Dusk as he gave Solaris a gold box, “Press the red button and give it a toss.”
“Won’t that kill us both.” said Solaris as he did as his pupil instructed.
“For the last time it is not a bomb,” said Dusk, “It is an anti titan weapon named gold.” The small robot in front of them was pure gold all except for the eyes which were silver.
“I’d picture it to be bigger, and how in the hell is it going to perform Dusk?” asked Solaris
“To the simulation room then.” said Dusk as they walked over to a room used for Titan killing practice. “Gold, you have three titans. Dismantle them please.” said Dusk. The robot bowed and being shot at by three simulated titans of A class. It quickly pulled out a chain gun on Gold’s shoulder and began shooting back. It was hard to hit because of it’s size and speed. One by one if ripped the simulated titans to shreds.
“Impressive,” said Solaris. The robot scanned the area for any other titans and then transformed into a gold cube again.
“One problem though,” said Dusk as Solaris Rose his head, “We can’t replicate the core needed to power the robot. It is powered by an element that is one of a kind.”
“So we only have one.” said Solaris sad tone.
“We will continue this conversation, alpha squadron is returning.” said Solaris sighing.
“Sister? How is she?” asked Dusk.
“Firefly, Isn’t present with them, that’s weird.” said Dusk as Solaris walked out of the laboratory. They were headed to the debriefing room. “Also the sniper twins aren’t present either which is also weird.” said Dusk Shine.
Debriefing Room...
“Captain, Field report.” said Solaris
“The mission was a success, until Eris’ intervention. She critically injured Deadeye and Snipes. One casualty. Firefly plane was hit by Eris’ magic which caused eject failure the plane impact killed her instantly. Sir,” said Gleaming Shield in a sad tone.
“Scout, did you pick up anything on the enemy that we should be worried about?” asked Solaris.
“Yes Sir, titan class super is what the changeling troops in their barracks were talking about. Also they were preparing for their final plan to commence.” said Pipsqueak as she saluted off and went back into rest position.
“We can’t let the death of your friend compromise the efficiency of alpha squadron. Good work today, girls. The world will mourn after this war is over.” said Solaris in a serious tone. After debriefing the girls went to the bunkers or to go see how the sniper twins were doing. All except for Gleaming Shield she had to go see her husband and her brother. Her adoptive sister was still fighting her fights and should be heading back soon though. How was she suppose to break the news to Dusk and her husband.
“Honey!!! You're home.” Tempo yelled from down the hall.
“Hi, sweetheart.” she had replied.
“What happen out there?” asked Tempo.
“We lost another one,” Gleaming Shield began as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Eris found our squad and threw us off guard she injured the sniper twins into critical condition and she got firefly.” She held up bloody dog tags. As she felt a hug around her. She just cried.
Barb’s battle...
“Tail Lights what’s wrong?” asked Barb.
“Something's wrong with my big sister can’t deal with that right now,” said Tail Lights, “I’ve got three planes on my ass though, but all in all I’m fine.”
“Take them into the Caverns.” replied Tumble as she was breaking away from the F-16’s that were following her.
One by one they fell out of the sky. “Three... Two... One.” said Tail Lights over the radio. “Tumble look out it’s Umbra.”
Tumble noticed that Black Bird from anywhere. “Fuck. Why the fuck is it always me?” Tumble asked herself. They might be flying F-22’s but they all knew who was better suited in this match up.
“Tumble hang in there we’re going to cover your six.” said Barb.
“Ahh fuck it’s a heat seeking missile it’s locked.” Tumble said over the intercom. The missile hit her back wing. She was aiming to eject over the canyon that way she hit land, but Umbra had other plans she shot the back wing even more until she hit the fuel tank. That’s when she left them.
“Ejecting. No--” she lifted the hatch and ejected, but she was nicked by the explosion and was unable to use the parachute. Luckily she had wings but she still collided with the ground pretty hard.
“Oh, Shit. Medic!!!” Barb exclaimed as she landed and ran towards the fallen pilot, “Look at me soldier it is going to be okay.”
“You know... that is... some ... Bull.” Tumble said in a soft tone
“Soldier do not die on me.” Barb said.
“You... know... I... hate... Losing;;;” said Tumble as she closed her eyes. As she did Barb lowered her head she ripped off her dog tags and carried her to her plane.
“Tumble is dead.” she announced.
“Let’s head back to home base this area is cleared.” said Barb as the two planes made their way towards Canterlot.
Debriefing Room...
“Field Report.” said Solaris.
“Mission Accomplished. Everything went according to plan area 39 is cleared. We were attacked by Umbra’s Black Bird. She managed to only take out Tumble. Tumble is dead due to impact with large canyon.”
“You're squadron will be merged with another squadron tomorrow. As of now you are now the pilots for Alpha squadron. One question though where is Feather Brain your scout?” asked Solaris.
“She is still captured by the changelings, we would need a ground team to get her out.” said Barb.
“You will be retrieving her tomorrow we need her here. She’s the only one left who knows how to use the rail guns. Don’t let your sister and your friends lost deter you're actions they will be honored as heroes” Solaris assured them.
As they left the Debriefing room Barb wanted to talk with Tail Lights. “Tail Lights you're still going to be okay right.”
“Yeah I have to stay strong. It’s what they would have wanted.” she said, but on the inside she was torn apart inside. “I just need time to think, Barb. Bye and I’ll see you on tomorrow’s mission.”
Gleaming Shield and Barb didn’t know what the hell was going to happen next, but they did know that shit was starting to hit the fan.
