Introduction
Anything goes in the bustling city of Canterlot. You never know what other things it could be hiding. Maybe nopony wants to know. It's funny, really, how ignorant the other ponies are. They never knew about our business, until I made it public. I know I'm not a saint, but I know I did the right thing on that day.
"You wanted to see me, Father Stallione?" I walked into the quiet restaurant and sat at the table with my boss. He was an old man, never was the type for talking too much. It was understandable, he was about ready to walk into his grave. I respected that man-once. He used to be my idol. I was born into the family, but never knew who my parents were. Father Stallione was my father from there, and has treated me well.
"Thank you for coming, my son." The man was eating his favorite dinner course at the Hoof n' Mane diner. If I were to pick one way for him to die it would be a heart attack. I sat silent as he continued.
"I hope you have realized that our business hasn't been running very well."
"Yes sir, I have." I replied.
He finished up his spaghetti, and continued. Luckily I was patient, he loves to take his time with his dinner. Most of the family members were unfortunate enough to snap at the father. They were last known as great grave diggers.
"I also hope you know that your the most prized in the organization."
This part surprised me, I was actually valuable. I didn't know I actually fell into the ranks of the higher ups, like Mareciello, the man who once killed 50 of the Canterlot guard. Next to surprised I was also confused, what did this have anything to do with me coming here? Or was this all for shits and giggles?
"No sir, I did not know that. Thank you, but you confuse me. Why did you call me here?"
"It is because I want you to know your worth before I send you away."
My heart stopped for a minute. Why would the father send me away?
"It's nothing personal, my son. Just business."
"No, theres a better reason than that." I barked.
"Don't get short with me, boy," he sent right back.
"You will not have to worry, sonny, it is only temporary.
"Why does it have to be me though? Can't it be someone else?" I was now yelling, everyone in the diner was now staring at us. I sat back down.
"The reason why you're going is because of your...excellent...public skills." He replied.
"What do you mean public skills?" I asked. I realized I had better calm down. The father's calm expression turned into a grimace.
"Anyway, you will be reassigned to a small town called Ponyville. You will meet up with my grand-daughter west of Sugar-cube Corner, in her home. And please be subtle. Your assignment is to recruit some new ponies. There will also be some contracts there for you to complete. Any questions?"
"No sir." I said flatly.
"Then get going. Time is of the essence. Go! Every minutes our business is getting worse!" He urged me to leave right away.
Well, I guess I'm going to Ponyville.
