A Mare's Final Hours
Final Hours
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIt had been a long, sad morning, but the mane six stayed calm, worried that stress would end her life sooner. Spike and Scootaloo had sent her flowers on a balloon that floated to her cloud. It was the most depressing of days, they had remembered so far.
"Girls, check this out," Twilight had stated excitedly, ripping open a letter by her castle door.
Dear friends/ family of Rainbow Jennifer Dash,
We are proud to inform you that there may be a possibility of her surviving. A small, 1.5% Chance, I am afraid. If she does not make it, we will send an invitation to a funeral next week. On the other hoof, if she makes it, we will send her over stay at Sugar Cube Corner.
Sincerely, Ponyville Blue Cross Hospital Team
Pinkie's mane slightly poofed back up, from its flat stage before. The others looked in half excitement and worry.
"DOES THAT MEAN DASHIE'S COMING BACK?!" Pinkie asked, her mane returning to it's natural form. Twilight winced, than levitated the letter.
"It's not a fact, Pinkie. She might, and most likely won't. But... sometimes, i'm afraid, that we have to let it go,"
"Oh, Pinkie, don't start singing again, I'm just not in the mood. But Twilight's right. We won't be around forever, and one day... we'll all leave." All stared shocked at the shy filly who, sank down.
"I must agree, Fluttershy does have a point. And if we give her as much love as she can take, it might just be the cure to bring our friend back,"
So, for the past few hours, the mares set plans with Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy and Rarity had made ice packs for her head. Fluttershy had borrowed some First-Aid kit used for her animals, and a technique for healing sores.
"Are you alright, Rainbow?" she would ask every now and then. She would just mumble something and nod, but with care because of her head-ache. Rarity stared down with worry.
"Are you SUUUURE these are enough cards?" Pinkie asked, carrying a stack of 'Get Well Soon' cards in her saddle bag. Twilight only nodded silently, as she lifted Pinkie onto her back, and flew off to the hospital.
"You okay, Twi? You're usually not THIS quiet..." Pinkie hinted. Twilight sighed.
"I'm fine... it's just that... well, don't tell anypony this, but.... she's the closest friend I have ever had, and seeing her large possibility of... going... is just heart breaking," she said under her breath, as Pinkie pet her mane soothingly.
"Where ever she's going, if she does... I just hope she smiles,"
