One day Celestia was flying with Twilight she was having such a good time souring through the air but they soon had to get back. As soon as they got back they saw Rarity and her other friends. standing on the tower so they went over to meet her. Twilights friends all wondered what this was about.
"Twilight go and wait with the others." Celestia instructed.
"Yes Princess" Twilight said obeying her as Celestia turned to Rarity.
Celestia and Rarity started to talk. Twilight walked to somewhere close by where the others were but close they could here but were far away enough to not bother them.
"What are they doing over there?" Rainbow Dash said eyeing them skeptically. Twilight shrugged.
"I don't know we just got back and Rarity was standing there." She said.
She had no idea about what was going on. Did Celestia request the meeting? Nobody told her anything. She just looked on. And why couldn't she join in the meeting?
"I made sure that I was ready." Rarity said. Rarity blinked and trembled. Twilight furrowed her brow at this action but didn't know what it meant.
"I sent your friends away What happens between you and me doesn't concern them." Celestia said with a stern voice. The mane six recognized this tone and wondered what was going to happen.
Twilight and the others did not know what was going on and Twilight wondered what Celestia meant by her. Fluttershy looked over but she had to get back soon but she didn't mind staying right now.
"You will carry out what I ask you to. You can't refuse, you can't back out. This has to be done."
Celestia said sternly.
Twilight looked at Rarity closely and thought that Rarity was getting emotional but then thought it was just the lighting.
"I know. I'll try to explain it to them or Luna can. I left my dresses at my place I'll have them sold by somepony else." Rarity told her.
"Good. That way we can do this properly." Celestia said with hesitance in her voice. Twilight and the others were so confused.
"What the hell is going on." Rainbow Dash whispered.
"I don't know I can't seem to figure this all out. They are acting out of the ordinary. I don't have any idea on what they are talking about." Twilight said.
"Celestia didn't mention a meeting today." Fluttershy said confused looking at Celestia.
"Maybe they just wanted to have a party!" Pinkie exclaimed. Twilight had a headache growing.
"Can you stop mentioning that! Seriously." Twilight said face hoofing. They all looked back at the scene unfolding in front of them.
"These are all the documents you need. Everything you need to know is in there." Celestia said handing Rarity pamphlets
Rarity looked them over and put them into her pouch. They looked at eachother. Rarity started to shake and breathe heavily.
"No Rarity you have to be strong doing this. The royal family already knows. Its alright." Celestia said.
Twilight and her friends heads were spinning. They wanted to know what was happening. Their behavior was odd as they acted all hesitant.
"I understand Celestia. I will succeed in doing this. How shall my friends understand?" Rarity asked.
"In time they will know. Somepony will tell them. Twilight might question it though." Celestia said.
"That's alright. It will be fine." Rarity said freezing up.
"Rarity don't do that. I told you not to do that right now. You have a task to carry out." Celestia said sternly reminding her.
Tears started to leak out of Rarities eyes. Celestia wiped them away. They both stood in front of eachother. Rarity prepared but hesitated. Rarities five friends looked on at the tense moment. They tried to figure out what was about to happen. It was silent and tense. Then Celestia broke the silence.
"Please...Rarity....do it." Celestia begged.
Rarity took a deep breath and casted a spell killing Celestia. Celestia fell from the tower. Twilight and the others were shocked. Twilight couldent think straight. She didn't know what just happened. Tears started to fall from her eyes as Rarity fled. They had no idea where Rarity was going. Her friends looked on in shock.
Twilight and her friends and the citizens of Ponyville and Canterlot ran to Celestia's body They couldent believe what happened. Twilight kneeled down and cried uncontrollably over Celestia's body. Luna sobbed as Ponyville residents looked at Celestia in shock. News spread over the kingdom. Cadence took over as the main princess of Equestria succeeding Celestia's death. Cadence started to help the ponies through this tough time and sent soilders to search for Rarity and the mane six got Sweetie Belle as a replacement for Rarity.
A day later it was a day of morning as they conducted Celestia's funural. of Ponies and creatures all over Equestria attended. Ponies sobbed and cried and Twilight wondered about what she should do now her mentor was dead and she still couldent decipher why Rarity killed Celestia and why Celestia allowed it to happen. That made her fill with even more grief. She had tons of feelings rush through her.
The ponies of Equestria created a statue to honor Celestia and continued to teach about her whenever and wherever. The mane six mourned for a few more days and got back to work with solving problems. Sweetie Belle was old enough to handle Rarities element as she learned about the elements and was trained for missions. Life went on even if it was less happy then it was before but it got better over time.
Twilight Sparkle sadly sat in Celestia's bedroom sighing and thinking about what happen. Why would Rarity do something like that? What motivated her? She looked around. It was so quiet. The castle workers were taking a day off to morn and Luna went to visit her sister's coffin. Rarity was at large as Cadence who took over Celestia's seat in Equestria worked to bring the kingdom at ease.
Twilight Sparkle searched sadly through the room looking through old photo albums of Celestia which made her sigh sadly. Her mentor was dead and there was nothing to do about it. She closed the bedroom door to lock it and then continued to dig through Celestia's room as ponies down stairs started to move Celestia's stuff out of her home with the permission of Luna as directed by a inheritance letter written by Celestia if she ever died. Twilight kept looking through letters and documents she came upon some of her own letters which she had written to Celestia. She threw a lot out as she didn't want to fill her whole house with them.
As she moped about while being angry at Rarity she came about a rolled up letter tied up under Celestia's bed. It was a peculiar space to hide letters. She took it out. She looked it over curiously. It looked like it was recent parchment. It looked like it was written recently. She shrugged and had it delivered to her house as she would read it later. She wanted to keep reading the old ones and reminise. She also threw away old outfits and kept others that fit her. Soon she couldent stay there any longer and went home with some clothes she took She got inside and put away outfits she got and sat down with the piece of parchment.
She undid the scroll and saw that Celestia really did write the letter recently. She started reading it with questions rushing through her head.
Dear Twilight,
If your reading this then that means I'm dead. It means Rarity has done what I asked her to and it means that somepony else has taken over as co ruler of Equestria with Luna. And I'm going to explain it now so when you see this letter then maybe you and the citizens and future generations will understand as If I would have mentioned this to you before you would have objected.
I'm going to cut to the chase Twilight and say it point blank. I asked Rarity to kill me. Please do not blame her! Let her be free. Blame me instead. The reason for this was to cover me up from future possible villains I didn't want you girls or me getting found out. I asked Rarity to kill me since nopony else would. Only a small amount of ponies knew about what was going to happen but didn't tell you. I knew and Rarity knew and a few close advisors knew.
I love you so much. Please don't blame Rarity I'm the culprit. I asked her to do this. Do not be suspicious of her she's been through to much. The night I explained what I wanted to do she was shocked and saddened by the suggestion but she agreed and that night before we carried this out I went on that flight with you that night and Rarity knew about our flight as I told her to kill me. That moment before she killed me she hesitated so much and I begged her to finish the job as her and me agreed earlier that we could not back out.
This is as much as I can explain Twilight. Please understand. I love you so much Twilight. Do not wail for me. Forgive Rarity and let her back in to your group. I care for you Twilight Sparkle. I'll be looking down on you. Please move on and remember me.

Twilight set down the letter sobbing. She sobbed at what she read. She never knew it except for Celestia, Rarity and a couple of advisors. She sobbed and got up and rushed to Cadence to show her the letter. Cadence gasped as she read it. She quickly called a meeting summoning Shining Armor and the rest of the Royal army. She showed them the letter which was found in Celestia's room. They put a spell on it declaring that it was indeed Celestia's hoof writing. They quickly issued a decree to stop the guards from arresting Rarity and they dropped all the charges that were against her.
Cadence and the Royal family sent the news about the letter throughout the towns and cities and locations under Cadences rule. They showed Luna which a few hours after reading it accepted what happened. Twilight Sparkle understood every thing now. Though there was still grief in her heart she didn't hate Rarity. She showed her friends the letter. Rainbow Dash was very skeptical of it. It took an hour trying to convince her. Rainbow Dash finally sighed in acceptance as Twilight showed Celestia's handwriting the dozenth time. Applejack raised a brow at all this but Twilight spoke to her one on one begging her to read the letter. Applejack read the letter while questioning the date it was written on but Twilight explained that Celestia wrote it the day before as she was finished planning it with Rarity. Applejack quiestioned it for a while before finally giving in.
Fluttershy was the most difficult as she stayed in her house not wanting to deal with it. Twilight knocked a hundred times and then finally slipped the letter under the door. Fluttershy read it tears filling her eyes. She flew out and hugged Twilight as they sat their and hugged. She then did Pinkie Pie last knowing this would just be as difficult. Pinkie Pie opened her door her mane flat she showed her the letter. Pinkie read it and talked to Twilight gently about it but her hair didn't go back the way it usually is just yet. Twilight and Pinkie both finally agreed hugging eachother.
The meeting between them and Rarity after the letter was spread around was really awkward. Rarity explained how Celestia told her to kill her. They understood. Rainbow Dash was a little bit skeptical still but gave it up sighing again. Rarity regained her status as a mane six member and got her element back and Sweetie Belle was discharged and thanked for her services as she finished serving as a temporary member.
They continued to search for more friendship problems as the kingdom worked to recover which it did. Even though this happened they stayed friends as Rarity only did what she was told. Equestria remembered Celestia forever.
