Set Um Up, And Knock Them Down
It's a normal night in southern Manehattan, homeless pony's on the sides of the crumbling street, holding signs for help. Most of the signs ignored by passing more privileged pony's. And homeless pony's, passing homeless pony's. Every pony knows every pony in this part of town. But there is one section of the Southern branch that is far above the other pony's there. Lilly Street, is a merchant strip, at this point it's the only thing that is keeping these streets alive. The rest of the branch of the city droops with depression, and smells of sewer water. But it does have a small fragrance of hope. The ponies living on the streets, and the other pony's helping those ponies, wandering the streets. But in the street there is one pony that wouldn't look out of place except for her appearance under her brown hoodie. Under the hoodie is a white silver coat dotted in dirt, sapphire eyes, and a ruffed sky blue mane and tail, streaked with snow white. The thing that made her odd was the black spots at the tips of her ears, and black spots under her eyes and between, not many ponies in Equestria have that feature. Her cutie mark is a blue heart with white and black on the tips of the heart. The mare was trotting on the sidewalk, a bit of stride in her strut, as well as looking behind her. To make sure no-pony mugs her, it can be very dangerous at night. Because every type of pony on the street knows every other pony on the street, some can get a little greedy. The brown hooded mare was trotting down Lilly street looking for ponies who have taken out their trash. But there was nothing but the usual. The antique shops doors open trying to mousetrap pony's to the police. The local winery still open, for some reason, stupid idea if you ask me they are basically saying rob me I am rich enough to keep going, and the clock tower lights, that bring the city to life. The silver mare was trotting down the street looking for garbage taken out, besides the antique store dump. Nothing good in that one anyway, she spotted a recently opened shop had garbage taken out. Bingo, man it looks like the jackpot, it's the new pawn shop. Mare, bingo sounds fun right now. She thought to herself as she strolled up to the locked dumpster. Quickly, she pulled out two bobby pins and started working on the fairly easy lock. She got it open, and looked inside and saw.... A WATER BOTTLE, half full to. Yes this is good, she put that plus smaller items into her pockets. Didn't even break a bobby pin, she thought. She started trotting off before, her ears perked up, a door opened right behind her. This would be fine except she looked as shady as a thief. A dark gray stallion with a cool blue mane was standing there eye's wide. The silver mare looked to the stallion, and she absolutely ran as fast as she could. The stallion followed suit while yelling.
"Stop! Stop!" The mare kept running into the alley and took a turn that only some pony familiar with the area would know about. The stallion kept going until he hit a dead end he paced around looking for the admittedly attractive mare. He turned to face outwards towards the end of the street while being at the end of a dead end he talks in a loud soft voice and says. "I don't want to hurt you," Yeah right like I haven't heard that one before, you probably either want to drug me or worse.... Probably worse. "I just want to know what you were doing back there." The calm mare stood her ground, thinking he was lying. The stallion stood there for a bit, thinking she would reply. No response came he trotted off to the store at which he resides. The mare heard this and after she heard him far away she came out of which she was hiding. Looking to make sure he was gone, he was and she started to head where she was spending the week. The mare approached a abandon large hotel called the Loca Coca.Well almost abandon, inside the building on the second floor is two ponies waiting, a stallion and a mare. The stallion was wearing a yellow bandana, up against his blue coat, the coat laced with a neon pink and navy blue lollipop, and a pink puffy mane and tail, his mane bangs in front of his horn. And sitting next to the stallion was a pegasus mare, she was a sight to see. She had a sky blue coat, her cutie mark is two silver gears. Her mane pitch black, wavy, and tangled.
"Hey Níma!" The stallion stood up and trotted over, to the silver mare and said in his deep, scruffy voice.
"Hey, Snow!" Snow the silver mare, and Níma walked up to each other and gave eachother a hoof bump then simultaneously said.
"Bulala," Snow gave a good laugh, and noggied his fluffy mane. He seemed content, at this point he was use to it. Snow waked up to the pegasus on the floor and sat next to the pegasus.
"Hey Broúntzos how are you doing?" The sky blue mare shrugged. She is the most recent addition to the streets, her mother kicked her out and they haven't found her a job yet. Snow still smiling gave a sympathetic look, then ruffled her mane. Broúntzos looking a little happy for the gesture. "Now," Snow continued. " I got some good stuff down at the pawn shop, we can probably go a little off of it." Níma looked ecstatic, Broúntzos gave a small grin. Snow reached into her pocket and pulled out A half full water bottle, a half a sandwich, a candy bar, and slightly rusted pocket knife. Broúntzos took the pocket knife in hopes that she can fix it up. Níma took the rest and put it in his saddle bag. After all the hustle the three ponies snuggled up by the fire, slowly but surely the three dozed off to sleep. Leaving the day and heading to tomorrow.
It's twilight outside in the town of Manhattan. Three ponies sitting in an abandoned hotel are woken abruptly by screaming outside.
"Snow! Snow!" The silver pony with tired eyes stood up and walked to the window, she looked down. There are two ponies at the entrance one was screaming at the top of her lungs, the other one was passed out on the mares on back. Snow realized what was wrong and ran to the other two sleeping ponies and whistled. The two ponies on the ground sprung right up.
"Alright we got a case," The two nod there head. "Broúntzos, watch me and Níma," Broúntzos nodded. Snow looked towards Níma and they nod in understanding. The three run down the stairs to the lobby. Broúntzos brought down a mattress from a hotel room, and quickly threw down the mattress. Snow got out supplies from her saddle bag and placed it next to the mattress. Níma quickly levitated the door open, and helped the mare with a stallion on it's back. And carefully the unicorn levitated the stallion onto the mattress. "OK Checko, what happened?" Snow addressed the mare who brought the stallion, while Snow was checking the injuries.
"Well I was showing hi the ropes of the streets," Checko was panicking and very out of breath. "And..And he cut himself on glass," Snows ears perk up and gave Checko a worried mixed with confused look. Checko realized the implication of what she said. "No he didn't try committing suicide, the glass was in the trash." Snow nodded and got back to the stallion, she picked up a flashlight and checked if he was conscious.
"The lights are on, but no one's home," Which is weird, he shouldn't be unconscious...Unless. "Checko, does he have Blood Phobia?" Quickly she nodded. "Níma I need you to clean out the wound, try not to use too much water." He nodded and levitated a couple napkins and a water bottle, and carefully cleaned out the wounds. Snow bit her lip and thought on how to go about the recovery process. "Mane this is bleeding me dry," Snow gave a small chuckle at her joke not a good one but a joke none the less, Níma was giving a small laugh. Probably to humor the awful joke. Broúntzos gave a large and dragging eye role, to her this is never the time for joking. Níma was almost done, Snow looked at him and said. "Níma, go get washed up, I can finish." Níma shrugged, handed off the napkin and water, and started for the lake. Snow took the equipment and finished cleaning out the wound. "OK, now that Níma is gone, Broúntzos pass me one of his bandana's should be in his bag." Broúntzos obviously did not approve but did it anyway she trotted over with a ugly neon green bandana. "I think I need to explain to Níma what is a eye bleeding accessory," Broúntzos nodded in agreement. It is very eye bleeding in color. She put the bandana on the wound, and tried to stop the bleeding. Snow bit her lip in concentration, she was successful in stopping the bleeding. Snow gave a sigh of relief and bit her lip the hard part was out of the way now comes recovery. She needs to keep the wound clean and she needs to keep the wound close. She could wash it with water but that probably would get infected, the type of water they have is not the cleanest. Or.... There is option two. As this was going through the mare's head, Níma strolled through the door. "Níma, we need hydrogen peroxide." Níma looked to Snow in confusion.
"Why? And where could we get that stuff?"
"The wound might get infected." Snow rubbed her chin while walking back and forth. Then a idea popped into her head. "I think three places might have it," Snow emphasized might. "The pharmacy dump, a random apartment dumpster, or maybe Blue Cross hospital." Níma got a look of shock at the idea. Broúntzos got a look of confusion.
"What's the Blue Cross Hospital?" Níma gritted his teeth with anger at even the thought of going to that place.
"A suicide trip that's what it is," Snow gave the stallion laying on the mattress with a worried look. She felt empathy for the stallion, again Snow felt empathy for any and every pony in her care.
"We have a pegasus this time, we'll be fine this time," Snow looked over at Broúntzos and gave a smile.
"How do I know this will not be like last time? You got into so much trouble, you couldn't take any more injuries like last time." Snow shook her head and strolled up stairs the other two ponies following her.
"There is why, one we have a pony who can fly if needed. Two I am more experienced this time around, and three last time was a huge accident waiting to happen the building is more stable. Besides if I feel it's too dangerous, we will turn right around." Níma gave her a irritated look. Snow took it and responded with a smile. "I will be fine I promise," The stallion gave her a look and seeing if she was lying, he couldn't tell. "So," Snow continued. "Here's the plan, me and Broúntzos will go scavenge at the hospital. Níma use your magic to scan for anything that might help," The two nodded in understanding. The three pony's got ready to go, each strapping a saddle bag to their backs. The three went down stairs back to the main floor, Snow noticed Checko sitting next to the mattress. "You two go ahead, I will be right there." The two nodded, Broúntzos was going to bring up she didn't know where the hay she was going. But decided not to bring it up and she continued out. Snow went and sat next next to the obviously worried mare. The silver mare put her hoof around the mare, and softly said. "He is going to be fine," Snow gave Checko a smile showing her sincerity. Checko nodded her head. Snow got up and ran outside to see if she could catch up with the other two ponies ahead of her.
