An alicorn mare was walking within the archives for the first time. Her name was Twilight Sparkle. She had been recently coronated and with being an alicorn you were essentially one of Equestria's rulers. She knew that a good ruler had to know about her people's past and learn from the past mistakes of others. She looked around with her magenta eyes and saw that there was a plentiful amount of knowledge that was stored within here. She tried to hold in her excitement by seeing all of these books, paintings, maps, and so much more. But she failed to hold it in and let out a large smile and quietly cheered. She eagerly trotted her purple body throughout the archives in glee and began looking around fervently. The whole room had just enough lighting so that the naked eye could make out its surroundings. Tall bookshelves were neatly arranged in rows, all of them stacked with books and there were so many that it would take years to properly categorize them all and then rearrange them. On the walls there were paintings that depicted famous ponies within Equestria's history. Some of them were Sir Prism Sentry who had led the counter-attack on the changelings after the very first Changeling invasion had failed. One of the other paintings was Madame Goldenheart, who was depicted with a golden apple within her hoof and was wearing extravagant clothing. It was clear that she was a noble but the biggest question about the piece was why it was actually in here. Not only were those paintings on the walls but there were massive astrological maps on the walls that had just about every single nebula and star cluster that could be seen in the night sky mapped on them. Not only that but it also showed the planets locations within the night sky. Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Jupiter were also charted in almost exact locations of where they appear in the night sky. The map also showed the astrological signs, all twelve of them charted on the map and able to be distinguished from one another. It was truly something to marvel at. Twilight looked at it, but then eventually had to tear herself away from the map so that she could explore further into the archives. Twilight Sparkle continued her path within the royal archives. Discovering all of the paintings, maps, and books. She placed a mental note to come back here often so that she can study the whole archive for her better knowledgement. She thought to herself that maybe she could even make for some room within her library for some books from here. She shook in excitement simply by the thought of it. She kept perusing the royal archives and kept discovering the archives for herself. Until she found something peculiar, she found a room that was off to the side. There was light that was slightly brighter than the archives, but not blindingly bright. The light emitting from the room was funneled through a doorway. Twilight allowed her curious nature to take over and she slowly crept towards the light. She was unsure but she was ready for something to happen. Her brows descended her eyes and crouched slightly. She continued to creep up to the doorway, slowly but surely. She readied herself for what could be there. She turned the corner with haste and eventually realized that there was nothing menacing and or evil. It was Princess Luna sitting upon a stone bench right in the middle of the room. Her back was turned to Twilight, for she did not take notice of Twilight being right behind her. Luna had midnight blue back facing Twilight. Her mane was flowing with a layer of light blue on the outside and on the inner most parts were essentially the night sky. Her wings hugged her body and were not spread outwards. Her horn was not emitting any magic of any kind. She was simply sitting there in her normal sitting pose. Whole body on bench, back hooves spread outwards and forelegs placed in between them. Twilight was taken by surprise. She asked herself “What is she doing here in the royal archives and in this place in particular?” Twilight looked from where she was and observed that it was almost like a museum. Bookshelves were lined up all across the walls (from what she could see) and there were several paintings of various mares and stallions. All appearing to be wearing quite formal attire. She looked around and saw that this place was more lit due to that there were a plethora of candles lit in the room. There was a brighter light shining right in the middle of the room, Twilight tried to get a look at it but couldn’t see anything for Princess Luna was blocking her view. Overall the room that she was seeing was more polished and clean than the rest of the archives. While she was looking around, countless questions flooded her mind about what was going on with her fellow princess. She looked at her and saw that she hadn’t moved at all and was simply standing there, like a statue. Twilight’s face had shifted into a more confused look while this was happening. Although Luna was known for being on the more secular side of how personalities go, this was possibly the most secular Twilight had ever seen Luna. It was queer to say at least. She knew she was deep into the archives, but Twilight did not expect that her other fellow princess would be in the archives at the same time. Twilight immediately thought of taking caution for she thought this was too coincidental. She slowly approached Luna and then spoke in a calm manner. “Luna? What are you doing here?” Startled by the sudden outburst of voice, Luna jumped and relaxed her body when she saw that it was only Twilight Sparkle. "Oh, it’s only you. Good, I thought some commoner had gotten into the archives for a moment there," Luna looked towards Twilight and gave a sheepish smile. “What brings you here?” She asked. Her mane was flowing as usual with the constellations that could be seen in her mane. She stretched her wings and then her midnight blue body. "Well, it seems that you have been here for a long time, Luna. What are you doing here?" Asked Twilight in a intrigued manner. Hesitant to reply, Luna looked down at the stone floor and raised her head again once more. “The question would be, what are you doing here?” She evaded the question that Twilight presented. “I thought it would be neat to see the whole royal archives. Celestia had recently given me access to the Royal Archives for she saw that I should be fit to study the magic that Star Swirl the Bearded once studied. She also stated that I should learn the history of Equestria and its ponies. Wonderful and very generous, don’t you think?” “Yes, I know my sister and she doesn’t give out a lot of acess to the Royal Archives. They’re a place of great power and if they were to fall into the wrong hooves. Then it would not bode well for Equestria’s future.” It was working, Luna was evading Twilight from what she did not wish to speak about. “That shows a lot about how much Celestia trusts you.” “Thank you Luna.” Twilight smiled and began to look around the the room. “Quite the uh-- Exhibit you have here? This looks like a museum, glass cases with varying artifacts and bookshelves on the walls. Along with that massive painting in the center of the wall.”Twilight pointed towards the massive painting with the other mare in it. There was Luna on the right side wearing the royal armor and is holding the Equestrian flag. While on the left there appeared to be a mare that very much similar eyes to Luna's her body was a sky blue and had a white mane with silver highlights at the edge of the mane. She also appeared to be an alicorn much like the Royal Sisters. Completed with wings that were real and a horn that was almost three-quarters the length of Luna's horn. The only thing different about this alicorn is that her mane was not wavy but was instead in large curls that went across her neck and was actually very pretty. But if that wasn't enough to prove something different, the mare was also wearing Prancian armor. The large and silver Fleur de Lis's on her armor that was gold, much like the armor Celestia wears. She was holding a flag that appeared to not be in the current issue of the royal atlas. Twilight looked very puzzled by who the other mare was. If Luna were to give a scale of how terrifying this situation was out of all the other terrifying situations she had been, this would be the third most terrifying situation (followed behind by the Tantabus and some dreams she had witnessed while dreamwalking). She can’t let the most kept secret just slip out. But there was nothing she could do, Twilight had seen all of it. She had seen the exhibition of the mare and her feats. The exhibition almost looked like a shrine to her too. Luna feared that she may be the one to tell her the truth to Twilight Sparkle instead of her sister. She looked at the painting and was hesitant to give out the truth of who the other mare was. Luna hesitated and was thinking about how to evade the situation but there was nothing that she could do to now evade it. She gave out a defeated sigh and looked at Twilight. Twilight looked at her in confusion and asked, “Are you okay Luna? You kind of seemed worried out of your mind. Is there something you wish to tell me?” Luna knew that she had to now tell her it. "I know this will be hard to believe, but I think you need to know the truth about this mare. That other mare is-" Luna stopped herself and took a deep breath. "That other mare is my daughter, Twilight. Her name is Starblitz and she was and is the ruler of Prance." Twilight was confused and her face obviously showed it. One eyebrow raised above the other and the other eye kind of squinting. "What you had a daughter? How come you never told me of this? A-and how come you said ‘is’ and ‘was’ the ruler of Prance? I knew that Madame Starblitz was the ruler of Prance, but I never knew that she was your daughter. How come you never told me, how come you never told Equestria. Does Prance know about this? Imagine all of the-" She said what Luna had feared and the questions were continually getting worse and worse. It was probably now reserved the number two spot on the most terrifying experiences chart. She was panicking on the inside and had no idea what to do. After a moment of panicking she collected herself and then spoke. "Yes, I had a daughter before I was banished to the moon and when I actually was not jealous of my sister." Luna paused and swallowed a little and then spoke, "I never told you, because I never told you. We rewrote history so that our relationship could not be seen as a mother and daughter relationship. Both Starblitz and my sister and I thought it would be best if were to be seen as allies, not family. For it would make the ponies of Prance think that they’ve been controlled by us and my daughter was the pawn. Well that’s the short story of it, there were many other reasons why too.” "I never knew that your daughter was the leader of Prance. I’m sorry that you had to leave on such horrible terms. What made the divide happen? I-I understand if you do not wish to speak about it.” Spoke Twilight. While this was happening, Luna's face was filled with remorse. She looked towards Twilight and spoke,"No, I do wish to tell you Twilight, It was wrong of me to lie to you. But the ending of the war. The ponies of Prance demanded absolute secession from the Equestrian Union and Starblitz had to leave me. " A tear began to form within her eye. Twilight's facial expression was filled with empathy. It was hard to see her fellow princess in this state. After experiencing so much with her past sins of being Nightmare Moon and her self torture with the Tantabus it was hard being happy without acknowledging her past. Luna had gone through so much in her life, it was filled with so much pain. Twilight couldn’t find any words to comfort Luna, but instead, she wrapped her hoof around Luna and simply pulled her in to comfort her. Silence followed, there was no sound except for Luna sniffling and crying. Twilight opened her mouth once more, but couldn’t find the right words. She then closed her mouth and still comforted Luna. It was all she could do, she had never experienced what Luna had experienced the closest thing that she could sympathize with was the Tantabus experience. Twilight rembered when she had failed a test in school, she would go on with minimal eating and drinking for several days and non-stop studied. It was her way of torturing herself. “Luna.” She spoke faintly. “Y-yes?” Spoke a muffled Luna within Twilight’s chest. “Do you wish to speak about this Luna? Maybe that will help you. It will give you time to ponder about it. I know you will find it painful in some parts, but I am sure you will find some good out of it. Do you think so?” “I-I don’t know.” Luna raised her head from Twilight’s chest, her eyes were filled with tears and nose and cheeks were a slight red. Twilight levitated a napkin and began to wipe away the tears from Luna’s eyes and cleaned her face. “Where did you get that handkerchief?” Asked Luna “Every unicorn mare has her secrets to magic. Am I right?” Luna let out a small laugh and smile. Silenced followed afterwards for a brief moment. But in this brief moment Luna had decided that it would best to talk it out and explain her story to Twilight Sparkle. She listened to Twilight and thought about what she said. Twilight was right, some bad will come from talking about it, but there will be much good that will come out of it. Plus, it will be nice for somepony else to hear the story about her daughter. “Twilight,” she spoke. “I think I will tell you the story about my daughter. I think it is time anyways that I tell somepony else. Because I will get an outside perspective upon it. Its-- It has been eating away at me for these last couple years ever since I have returned back from Nightmare Moon. Are you willing to hear me talk about my past.” She gave out a laugh, “Goodness, I sound like an old grandmare when I say that.” She looked at Twilight and smiled. “I think this story will be a little bit long. But maybe you should get comfortable.” Twilight smiled and stayed on the current bench that they are on. “This is perfectly comfortable for me.” “Then your standards for comfiness are quite low I’m afraid.” Twilight laughed a little, “I’ll move when I think it will be necessary for my comfort.” “Suit yourself then Twilight.” She stayed in her position right beside Twilight and began to speak. “So where should I start. Let’s see.” Luna pondered for a short while and then spoke, “I know where we shall start, we shall start from the very beginning. Right when Starblitz was born.” Luna moved within her seat a little and adjusted some more till finding a proper location to sit. “Are you ready Twilight? Because this will take a long time.” Twilight looked a her and nodded her head, “I’m free all day and night and the next day surprisingly. But I would like to get home before the next day though.” “Understood, I don’t think it will take that long anyways.” Spoke Luna. “I’m ready!” Twilight gave a gleeful smile and eagerly awaited Luna’s story. “Long ago, in the land of Equestria. There existed two sisters, myself and my sister, Celestia. We had recently ascended the throne, seventy-five years after the event’s of Heart’s Warming Eve. Both my sister and I were in a relationship with stallions that we loved with all of our hearts. We both decided to have heirs to our thrones and both Celestia and I became pregnant with our future foals. Many had begun to call it ‘The Birth of the Future’ or ‘La Naissance du le Fûtur....” À suivre... ----- Part One: L'enfance -----"Je souvenais beaucoup de m'enfance. Les memoires de m'enfance forgé beaucoup de qui je suis." Madame Starblitz La Naissance du Le FûturThe bells rang throughout the palace, not in alarming of its citizens. But in celebration. A new life had been brought into this world. A healthy royal foal belonging to Princess Luna has been born within the royal palace. The kingdom was filled with joy for the new life within the royal palace. Ponies were cheering with happiness outside the palace even though it was in the middle of the summer and the heat was mildly scorching. The ponies who came to celebrate the birth were only confined to be outside the palace walls, for the princesses wished for their privacy during this event. With that, the royal guard had to stand at the gates and keep the ponies from coming in. Inside the palace’s one of many rooms there stood and sat the royal family. Luna with her mane down was laying on the bed with her back against the head of the bed, cradling the newborn foal in her arms. Princess Luna looked absolutely exhausted with her body being paler than usual. The birthing process was very toiling on her, the birthing process had almost lasted an hour and was extremely painful for her too. On the bed was the husband of Princess Luna, Roaming Star. He was sitting on the bed and had placed his foreleg behind Princess Luna’s head and looked upon the newborn foal with his green eyes. His body was the color of a white color and his mane was the color of silver. Roaming star had been born into a noble family and had been a disciple of Star Swirl the Bearded*. He had studied his teachings and had grown into a powerful unicorn who used his powers for the betterment of Equestria. At the head of the bed was Princess Celestia of Sol. The older sister of Princess Luna, the raiser of the sun and who governed during the day. Her white body was tall and she was built on the more skinny side as builds come. Her pink mane was long and silky, but there was evidence that there was some kind of color coming into the color scheme of the mane. She looked towards the two with her magenta eyes and smiled. “Congratulations you two.” She said. Luna looked at her sister, “You know I’ll be saying that to you and your husband in a couple weeks.” Celestia gave a small laugh and looked at her (un)natural bulge on her stomach. Princess Celestia was also pregnant with the foal of her husband, Sir Gilded Heart. A noble stallion that sought the betterment of Equestria through economics and prosperity. “I know, can’t wait to see how it goes. Actually I take that back, I’m actually more nervous than the day of our coronation.” Both of them gave a giggle about the coronation. What had happened was that Celestia had nearly wetted herself in one of the finest dresses that she ever wore. The cause was the fact that Celestia had never been a real big stage person. With having to stand in front of a crowd with hundreds, if not thousands of ponies had really intimidated Celestia. Over the years, Luna had teased Celestia about it on multiple occasions and it still gave her some embarrassing memories. Celestia looked at Luna and Roaming Star and saw that they were looking at the foal together, completely enamored by it. Celestia then leaned over to the doctors and whispered to them, “Pack up and give them some alone time.” And with that the doctors began packing up their bags and then left the room. Celestia being the last one to leave. As she passed through the door, she looked upon them and smiled. Then the door closed. Roaming Star and Luna looked at the newly born foal with eager smiles and turned to each other and nuzzled their noses and stared back at their daughter. The both looked at their newly-born foal in complete silence, simply looking at how magnificent it was. The foal was wrapped in blue blankets with star patterns knitted into its cloth. Its light blue body laid there comfortably, sound asleep. "She is beautiful," spoke Luna. "She absolutely is, such beauty has no words to describe her," spoke Roaming Star. Pridefully looking down upon his daughter. “Look at her little horn. Isn’t it adorable?” He pointed towards the little horn on the newborn foal. "I've never seen anything so tranquil. This is what absolute tranquility must look like while sleeping." She gazed upon her daughter and cradled her in her arms. Slowly the young foal opened her eyes to reveal herself having pupils as blue as the night sky. Her eyes were filled with awe as she gazed upon her mother. "She definitely has your eyes." Roaming Star said while giving a slight effort to a laugh. "Yes she does, yes she does," she said. She continued to smile and completely focused upon the foal so much so that she didn't realize that her husband had left her side and had returned with something special. Roaming Star had returned to her with a small stuffed Ursa Major. The toy was neatly created by some of the most talented toy creators within the land of Equestria and it almost looked real. "Guess who gets their first toy? Ah--" Roaming Star paused and looked at the foal and realized something, "Luna, my dear, we forgot to name the foal." "Don't worry, I have a name for her." Luna was still enamored by the baby. "Starblitz, that will be her name." She spoke softly while stroking the foals head. "W-why might I ask?" Roaming Stars's face was filled with a questioned look, "That's almost like a stallion's name." "It fits her well my dear. Just take a look at her eyes. They're filled with courage yet are as beautiful as the stars in the night sky." Roaming Star looked at Starblitz and realized that Luna's name choice was a good one. He looked into her eyes and saw what Luna described. She saw such courage and determination in her eyes. Much like his wife's yet they were the eyes of a peaceful soul. One who would be willing to talk out situations before engaging in combat with the other side. But one thing was for sure, it was definitely the eyes of his wife's. "She really does have your eyes." Princess Luna smiled and said nothing in return. "Guess who get's their first toy?" Spoke Roaming Star in a playful manner and hovered the toy above Starblitz and slowly lowered it upon her. Starblitz reached with her tiny hooves trying to reach it, she cooed while doing so. She eventually got a hold of her new toy and held it very close. But for a newly born foal, this was very exhausting and Starblitz found herself falling fast asleep (although she wasn't aware of it). Starblitz's eyes began to continuously fluttered until they were defeated by the spell of sleep and she became fast asleep. "Two ponies here are very tired and one of them is already asleep." Spoke Roaming Star, he looked at his wife and realized that she was fast asleep too with her newly born foal in her lap. He realized that it was around mid-day and he found himself to be exhausted also, after all, he had adapted his sleeping schedule to match to his wife's. He looked around them room and saw a rocking chair nearby. He gave them both long kisses to one of their cheeks. But while he was giving a kiss to Luna he whispered, "Our foal is going to be great." He then whispered to Starblitz, "You're going to be a great foal one day. Trust me, you will be." He then rose his face from the mother and foal sleeping together and made his way towards the rocking chair. He rested upon the chair and looked at his wife and foal. He then smiled at the scene before him. The two sleeping peacefully together were a sight to smile at. The Princess of the Night holding her very own foal, laying back against the decorated bed with her back. It was truly a sigh that could never become sore to the eye. It was a beautiful sight to see. Slowly Roaming Star slowly drifted away into the spell of sleep upon the rocking chair. His eyes began to flutter. Then eventually he found himself fast asleep. *Disciples of Star Swirl the Bearded are followers of Star Swirl the Bearded's teachings. According to royal archive files, Star Swirl had preferred to study alone and only with the help of one assistant, the place of assistant was already reserved for Clover the Leaf. But Star Swirl the Bearded did publish his magic theories and his book that prompted the Disciples of Star Swirl. "The Basics and the Advanced properties of Magic" was a guide that went into great depth about even the most basic of magical spells. The book had contained a plethora of theories about magic works. Much of those who could read in Equestria were found to be deterred away by the language that Star Swirl the Bearded had used. Many had thought he had gone crazy, but those who were dedicated enough to decipher its complex language were founded to be one of the most solitude ponies Equestria had ever seen. The Disciples of Star Swirl the Bearded are now regarded as an "Ethereal Order" and very few ponies are within the order itself. There are also rumors that the Disciples have an extremely elongated lifespan much like the leaders of Prance,Equestria and various other Equine nations. Pour Allons aux Étoiles. Mais pour Dompter le Premier au Monde.“I’m surprised you’ve charted very little of the night sky, my love.” Spoke Roaming Star who was peering into a telescope and was studying the night sky. “I’ve studied a little bit of it. But I never really found the time due to all of this ruling business. If I wanted to, I could just look into my mane.” Luna was at a desk that was dimly lit by a couple candles. “Ever since Celestia gave birth to Golden Sun, she had been really laying back upon the work. Thus, placing the work on me. I always knew that she procrastinated a little, but this is the most I’ve seen her do it.” She was writing on various documents with her quill that was surrounded by her magical blue aura. “She says that Golden Sun is a nightmare to manage for her always awakens at night and Celestia takes care of him personally. Sometimes Gilded Heart takes care of Golden Sun.” She continued to speak about Celestia’s dilemma. “I like when you speak with your beautiful voice, my love. But I think it’s time to feed our little Starblitz.” Roaming Star turned around and entered the room from the terrace and approached Luna from behind and nuzzled her. “After all, she is known to get cranky when she was hungry.” “She’s asleep dear.” Luna was still continuing her work. “L-look, I’m sorry if I seem rude but right now, Celestia gave me the short side of the stick and placed all this work on me.” Luna’s voice had grown into a more agitated one. “How many months did Celestia do your work?” Asked Starblitz. “I uh -- I don’t know. Three or something like that?” Princess Luna eventually realized what Starblitz was trying to do. “My love, do not --” Princess Luna was at a loss of words for her argument and placed the quill the quill down beside the papers. Luna got up from the chair and stood right next to Starblitz and looked at the crib that Starblitz was in. “I guess I can take a break from all of that paperwork. Plus, she is the absolute gem of my world. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for her.” Roaming Star went to the crib and picked up his daughter with his magic. He slowly levitated the foal into his grasps and began to cradle her. “Then how about you cradle her.” He placed forward the foal to give indication that Luna can take her up. She levitated the foal into her grasps and began to cradle it. As soon as she looked at her foal, Luna found herself once again completely enamored by its beauty. She simply stared at her and began to ponder about what the future holds for her daughter. With her being the first natural born alicorn that Equestria has ever seen, there was a lot that her daughter could become. The possibilities were endless. Starblitz could become the most talented pony within the arts of Equestria. Using her eye to paint, draw, and create worlds within her imagination and then place them onto a canvas. She could also become the most talented musician player, playing beautiful chords that enlighten the ear upon hearing. Creating sound through skillful playing of the instruments that Equestria could offer. She continued this line of thought until she found herself with some of the bad things she could become. With Starblitz being the first natural born alicorn, evil would try to seduce her and convert them to their causes. Who knows how much power their daughter will hold in the future, but regardless, much like flies to fruit, evil will be attracted to her. There was so much that she could be, but it wasn’t Luna’s decision to forge her path for her. She was to allow her daughter flourish in her own way, but guide her into making good decisions and be there for her in the toughest of times. Eventually, Luna was broken free of the endless thought that had consumed her by her husband. “Luna, my dear, you should look at the stars. You’ve sure conjured a beautiful night tonight.” Roaming Star walked out to the terrace and signaled Luna to come out. As soon as she walked out, Luna found herself looking at the night sky. Thousands of stars dotted the sky and were all brighter than she remembered them. The moon with it’s pale white color gleamed in the night sky and brought light to the land of Equestria, even in the midst of night. Luna looked at her husband and laid her head on his neck*. “Why don’t we sit down?” Roaming Star motioned Luna to the chair right in front of them and Luna took the offer. Roaming then left the terrace and returned back, pushing another wood chair out next to them. He then sat down and looked at Luna. “She is very well behaved. Even for a six-month foal. To be honest I expected a crazier foal. After what my mother has told me about foals and how to manage them.” “She is very well behaved and hasn’t caused us too much trouble. We’ve been blessed, that's for sure.” Luna gave a sighed relief and continued to look at her. Nothing in the world could compare to her foals beauty. As she kept looking at her daughter, the eyes of her daughter began to open. “Well well. Guess who's up?” The little foal gave a slight coo and smiled with her baby teeth. She then giggled a little. She then wiggled her tiny hooves in front of her face. “You’re just the little ball of energy all of the sudden aren’t you?” Luna began to play with Starblitz. ----- Part Seven: The First and Last World War -----

Les memoires de m'enfance forgé beaucoup de qui je suis." Madame Starblitz
La Naissance du Le FûturThe bells rang throughout the palace, not in alarming of its citizens.
