//-------------------------------------------------------// Tell me a Bedtime Story! -by Moonobsessed- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Please? //-------------------------------------------------------// Please?      "Please tell me a bedtime story?" Jenna smiled indulgently at Bridgit, her little sister, from whom the question had come.     "Alright." She said, helping the smaller girl on to her bed. Sitting on the bed herself, she looked at Bridgit, and asked, "What do you want the story to be about?' "Hmm..." Bridgit pondered for a moment. Then her face lit up. Jenna smiled, expecting princesses, or a secret world.     "Ponies!" Bridgit exclaimed excitedly "Ponies." Jenna flatly stated. "I know next to nothing about ponies, Bridgit. Pick something else."      Bridgit shook her head. "Not real ones. Magic ones! From My Little Pony!" She squealed. "I know even less about those." Jenna said. "How about tonight you tell me a story." This was the perfect course of action. Jenna smiled to herself, even though she was uncertain she would survive whatever Bridgit came up with. Bridgit nodded, and pushed her sister into a 'comfortable' position. She furrowed her brow for a moment, then said, "Alright, I'm gonna make it about Sunset Shimmer! 'Cause she reminds me of Kim. Doesn't she remind you of Kim?"       "Bridgit, I don't even know who Sunset Shimmer is. How could I compare her to Kim?" Jenna grumbled. She thought of her best friend Kim, a bossy yet hesitant person. She sighed, if the story was about someone like Kim, it couldn't be all bad, despite the subject. "Oh." Bridgit giggled. "Right." She paused, uncertain how to proceed, and then launched into her story. "Once upon a time, Sunset Shimmer wanted to visit Twilight in Equestria. She told her friends of her plans, and got ready to go the next day. But somebody who was still mad at Sunset, and probably her friends, decided to sabotage the journey. So she planted explosives near the portal, and-" "Hold up." Jenna interrupted. "Who is this "she"? Is she trying to kill Sunset with explosives?"     "Trixie planted the explosives, and didn't regret it!" Bridgit stuck her tongue out at Jenna, who rolled her eyes. "Now, let me continue." Jenna sighed, and nodded. "Anyways, Trixie planted explosives, by the portal, and when Sunset went through..." Bridgit giggled "KA-BOOM! Sunset is blown through, but the portal is undamaged. Whe- "Wait wait wait...wait. This makes no sense. There is no way the portal is undamaged! This is unrealisti-"   "Shhh! I'm telling the story! It doesn't have to be realistic! You better stop interrupting!" Bridgit glared at Jenna, who nodded. "Good. Now, when Sunset gets to the other side of the portal, she is not in Equestria like she should have been. She thinks the portal didn't do anything, until she noticed her hands are peach, instead of the orange they should be." Jenna raised an eyebrow, but nodded.   "She soon realized she was in another world entirely. So, she turned around, looking for whatever acted as the portal here so she could go home, and then she realized she was in an empty field. No way home." Now both of Jenna's eyebrows were raised, but she shrugged and assumed a neutral expression.    "Sunset would have freaked out, but she had been in a similar situation before, so she walked to the nearest town, leaving the field behind. She wandered the streets for a bit, then found what she was looking for. An orphanage." Seeing Jenna's perplexed expression, she quickly explained, "She isn't old enough to live on her own yet (probably)! She went to an orphanage last time she was stranded, and it worked! She got stuff to survive."    A little impressed by her sisters logic, Jenna nodded, and made a ' please continue' motion with her hand. Bridgit  obliged. "When she got inside, she made up a story, about surviving a fire. The attendant, believing her, asked for her name so she could stay in custody, and be put up for adoption. So sunset told the woman, 'I am Sunset Shimmer.' The woman laughed, and said, 'No, your real name.' Realizing names must be different here, Sunset told the woman she couldn't remember her name, and that the attendant could pick one. 'You look like a Kim.' said the attendant. Sunset agreed with this name, and the attendant said she need a last name too, so the two agreed on Steward. 'Kim Steward.' Sunset whispered to herself. It was a good name for a new life." Jenna rolled her eyes at the idea of her friend being in the story, but kept quiet nonetheless.     "Sunset eventually got adopted, started at the local high school, and became best friends with a girl named Jenna." At this point, Bridgit was trying not to laugh at her own silliness. "She missed her old friends, and was certain that the magic of friendship would get her back to them someday. But for now she was content with her life. The end."   "Wow." said Jenna. "That was some story." She got off the bed, tucked Bridgit in, and turned off the lights. "Goodnight, Bridgit."   "Goodnight Jenna. Maybe I can tell another story tomorrow? I think I'm pretty good at it!" "I dunno Bridgit. I might not survive another of your stories." Jenna closed Bridgit's door to the giggling of Bridgit.     Jenna smiled and headed down the hall to her room. Once there, she flopped on her bed and picked up her phone. She dialed the number. "Hey Kim, guess what? Bridgit told me a crazy story, but the gist of it is..."    Jenna shut her door, and whispered quickly. "She's on to us." On the other end of the line, the girl formerly known as Sunset Shimmer gasped and dropped the phone.
