Chapters I checked my watch to see that it was almost noon. I sighed and leaned my head against a tree. Today was supposed to be my day off, but I have to watch the wonderbolts as they are having fun since Celestia ordered me in front of Spitfire at their last show to watch them on this vacation. I was about to leave when I heard voices come through the trees. I looked up to see Spitfire, Blaze, Fleetfoot, Misty Fly, and Surprise all chatting, except Spitfire, who was watching me. I got up and said as I used my sword to help me up, “Took you long enough, I could have gotten to the campsite and back before you got here. Anyways, I’m Dark Days, for all of you that doesn’t know, and I’m here to watch all of you while you all are on vacation.”
Spitfire said as she walked up to me, “That’s rich coming from one of Celestia’s guards, especially you, Dark Days. I bet you just got here from the castle.”
I smiled, to show no hard feel and that I was messing around, “You got me, I just got here, had to help out. We’ll catch up later. There’s a temple in this forest I want you all to look in, they say that there’s something in there that made a stallion go mad after his team mysteriously disappeared, then a few weeks later, they found his team in his home still moving around, but not responding to anypony.
Spitfire shook her head and said, “No, we need to be getting to the campsite, so we can take our vacation, and it’s probably a fake in order to pull ponies this far into the forest in order to get money from the campsite.”
Surprise came up to Spitfire and said, “Come on, when are we going to see a creepy temple in the middle of the forest.” Misty agreed with Surprise, but Blaze and Fleetfoot agreed with Spitfire. So the majority of the wonderbolts won.
As we passed the temple, I had some strange feeling, but I didn’t say anything to the wonderbolts, they might think of me as weird, even if Spitfire’s a friend. Then I felt something on the tip of my nose. I look up to see dark clouds above us, then with a flash of lightning, the cloud released the gallons of rain on top of us. After we ran into the doorway, Spitfire said as she and the other, including me, shook the rain off of ourselves, “Once this stops, I’m going to have a stern talking to weather control about this unexpected thunderstorm.”

Spitfire glared at me as with it was my fault that this happened. I shrugged and we headed after the rest.
In the center of the room was a black altar with a red cloth stapled to it and a broken sign in front of it. Surprise jumped on top of it and said as her body seemed to relax, “Come on it feels really good.”
Spitfire pulled her off and said as she turned to me, “There it works, can we get going?”
I nodded and said, “Sure, but what about the heavy rain?” She muttered something, then I added, “We don’t really know what it does come on. Let’s make a game out of it. All of us sit, or have half our body on it, and whoever is left on it wins and chooses the punishment for the other. Sounds fair?”
The others looked at Spitfire with fear of what they would have to do if she wins. She smiled and said as she lifted herself on top, “Sounds fun, now everyone, get on the altar.”
Surprise and Misty jumped onto the altar, while Blaze and Fleetfoot were a little hesitant. After everyone was on, I sighed, I can’t chicken out what I started. I got on the altar. I turned to Spitfire and Fleetfoot and said with fear rising in my voice, “This has gone on long enough. Just call it a tie and let’s get them to a hospital or to the princess.” It looked like they didn’t hear me, or didn’t care. I went up to Spitfire and shook her. Her head just flopped back and forths, but her expression remained the same. I pulled her off and leaned her against it, then I pulled Fleetfoot off and dropped her on some old books. After everypony was off the altar. I picked up Blaze and placed her with Surprise and Misty, then I sat down as I watched them, here was the female wonderbolt that I’m supposed to protect while they are on vacation, Celestia’s order, and they all might be dead. I pulled my helmet off, placed it on my lap, then placed my hands on the back of my head to relax and collect my thought, but then I felt something sticky. I pulled a hand away and looked at it. Blood was running my arm, my blood. I ran up the stairs to get in the rain if somepony sees blood on my hand and the dead wonderbolt downstair, they going to think that I killed them. It won’t matter that it’s mine, they might think that I got hurt with one or more attacked me in self-defense.
I was glad it was still raining. I stood out there for what seemed like a few minutes then went back in. I headed into the room to check up on them. Spitfire was leaning against the altar, Fleetfoot had her head buried in the old books, Blaze had her head resting on Misty’s neck, Misty had her head resting on Surprise’s neck, and Surprise had her head resting on some abandoned equipment. I pulled off my armor and went searching through the temple.
The previous ponies, I’m guessing archeologist, left stuff in a hurry, journals were lying open, bags were thrown on the tables, even someone moldy lunch on there. I almost gagged from the smell. I grabbed a bags and ran out the room, using my wing to fan the smell away. I ran back to the others and started putting my armor and the broken wooden sign into the bag. I felt Fleetfoot’s arms sliding off. I grabbed her arms, then her feet hit the ground. I said as I turned to the other, “can someone tie her hand and feet together so they don’t fall, but not too tight that it leaves a mark.” Spitfire, Blaze, and Misty walked up, grabbed some rope and while Spitfire did the hands, Misty held the feet and Blaze tied them together. After that was done. They grabbed the bags with their outfit in and headed upstairs. I followed them.When I got up there, they were standing there just watching me. Then I stepped out into the storm with my duffle in one hand and Fleetfoot’s bag in the other and headed home.
It took a few hours to get out of the woods and to the base of Canterlot’s mountain. I turned to the wonderbolts and said, “Fly up slowly behind me and try to not look suspicious. Nod your heads if you understand.” I felt relief when they all nodded. Then I grabbed mine, Spitfire’s and Fleetfoot’s bags and flew up. Halfway to the mountain. I traded Fleetfoot for her bag, so if I was caught, I would look like I messed up and was switching my bags.
I cleared the wall with no problems, then I was waiting from the wonderbolts when I heard, “Who are you, and what it your business for flying into Canterlot?”
I turned around to see a lunar guard standing there. If I had my armor on I wouldn’t have been asked, but that’s in my bags. I stood straight and said, “Dark Days, One of Celestia’s personal guards.”
The guard sighed and said, “You do know that nighttime is the Lunar guard's watch?”
I nodded and said, said as I pulled out my helmet, “I do know that, I was on business where a train station isn’t, so I need to be getting back home. I’m really tired. The guard nodded then left. I sighed, and when I turned around, I almost scream. Right behind me were the wonderbolt. As I was catching my breath, I said as I dropped Spitfire’s and Fleetfoot’s bag in front of Spitfire, “Hand me Fleetfoot and pick up the bags.” She undid the rope around Fleetfoot’s feet, then her hands and placed her on the ground. I walked up to Fleetfoot’s body and picked her up. She stopped panting a while ago. She looked asleep, but I didn’t know if she was dead or not. I ran into an alley, then turned around to see that the others were following me.

I walked into the kitchen and cooked dinner, I was about to call them once dinner was done, but stopped. Since they’re dead, they might not be able to eat. I finished eating and said as I got up, “Time for bed, head to your room, and go to sleep. Tomorrow, I want this place clean before I get home from grabbing some clothes back from your homes. If I’m not home before 7:00 tomorrow night. I want you all to head to the palace and take the note that I’m going to leave on the table to Celestia or Luna, and start taking orders from them until I come get you.” The four wonderbolt got up and went to their rooms.
I was heading to my room when I stopped by the pictures. I looked at the ones of my family, me and my twin on nightmare night. Birthdays, and other holidays when I was young. The next pictures were some of my friends. Then I noticed one was one the ground. I picked it up to see that it was Spitfire and me at the gala. I was watching Celestia, then it got chaotic and I landed on top of Spitfire and landed in the cake. After a bit yelling at each other. I visit here when Celestia went to see the shows.
I shook my head and headed to my room to see Fleetfoot was still on my bed. I picked her up and said as I carried her to her room, “Fleetfoot, I want you to run to the store, pick some stuff for me off the list that will be right next to you in the morning, use some of my clothes to disguise yourself so you don’t have any attention drawn to yourself.” After I written the notes I placed one on the table and the other next to Fleetfoot’s bed, then I went to bed.
I woke up in a cold sweat and looked around the room to see that I was in my room. When I found nothing out of the ordinary, I sighed and said as I got up to get a drink, “Guess it was all a nightmare. I better get ready to pick the wonderbolts up.” I went to the fridge to get a drink, and headed to the bathroom to get ready to meet them, I know that we’re heading to camp, but I didn’t want to stink in front of them. I felt the warm water running down my back, taking my worries away.
After getting out of the shower, I walked out of the bathroom drying off my wings and my hair, then I noticed that a door was open. I threw the towel into my room and headed to the room. I looked in to see Spitfire laying there naked and with her body for show. When I realized that it wasn’t a dream, I suddenly felt embarrassed with me walking around naked while the wonderbolts are here. I ran to my room, got dressed, grabbed the keys out to their houses of their uniforms, wrote two note and left them where I said I would, then flew out the screen door towards the wonderbolts academy.
It took an hour or two to get there, and with that time, I thought about what I’m going to do there. The wonderbolt would have told the other’s where they would be and with who, so if I’m spotted, questions will be asked and I would be in trouble. I landed on one of the landing strips. It must have been breakfast since nopony was around. I quietly snuck into the academy to search for Spitfire’s office. It wasn’t long before I heard voices and hooves heading my ways. I jumped into a nearby room and closed the door. I heard a pony say, “Sorry, she isn’t here at the moment, She is with the other wonderbolt on vacation.” I could tell that is was Soarin, but I didn’t want to know who he was talking to, so I distracted myself by looking at the room I was in. It looked like a storage closet, a few boxes on shelves, brooms laying across the floor, and some other stuff. I waited for the voices to leave, then I quietly opened the door to make sure no one was around and headed to the office.
I’ve been there before with Celestia when she wanted to talk to Spitfire alone, with me since I couldn’t leave Celestia’s side unless told to leave, so I knew where the office is. I slipped quietly in and looked around. There was a few awards, pictures, and bills around the room. I opened the desk to see the same picture of me and Spitfire at the gala. I moved it over and looked through the papers. After searching through fan mail, more bills, and requests for shows, I finally found the mailing address of everyone that is in the wonderbolts or linked to them. I was about to walked out of the office, I saw a shadow pass across the window. I froze where I stood and watched the shadow stopped in front of the window and started turning the knob. I panicked, ran to the window and started opening it. Then I heard the pony say, “I just need to get something out of Spitfire’s office since she’s not here.”

I pulled away to see I landed on a mare with gray fur and yellowish gold eyes. I picked myself off and said as I held out a hand to help her up, “Sorry Derpy, I wasn’t watching where I was heading.”
She grabbed my hand and said as I pulled her up, “It’s okay, I’m glad you aren’t too bad. I’m sorry, I forgot your name.”
I smiled and said as I tested out my wings to make sure I can fly home, “It’s okay. Name’s Dark Days. I have to be going. Need to check on something.” When I was sure that my wings were fine, I started to fly when she said her goodbye to me. I looked over the mailing addresses to find that Misty is the closest. I adjusted my direction and flew towards her house to gather up some of her clothes.
When I got there. I reached into my pocket, pulled out Misty’s key, and unlocked the door. The house was almost clean, just a little mail on the coffee table, a few pictures of friends and family that needs a bit dusting. I shook my head and decided to just hurry up and get clothes and essentials. I walked into the bathroom to gather up her shampoo, brush, a towel, toothbrush, and toothpaste, then I went into her room to gather up some clothes. I gathered up her clothes and placed them in a bag with her name on it, then I saw a necklace on the dresser. It was a deep blue gem with a silver chain. I grabbed it and threw it in her bag. As I was walking out the door, I realized how was I supposed to carry five bags back home. I went around the home to see what I can find, then I noticed a small cart in the shed. I pulled it out, placed the bag in the cart and headed towards Surprise’s house.
Her house was different than Misty’s, for one, her house was a complete mess. Papers were everywhere, there was a pizza box on the couch and some other stuff. I quickly grabbed what I need, then I noticed the that her bedroom closet was slightly open. I knew I shouldn’t have looked inside of it, but curiosity got the better of me. I opened the doors to see toys hanging on the wall. I said as I opened the door with the bags at my feet, “Grab your bag, and take them to your room, then sit in the front room. I have some rules to tell all of you.” The wonderbolts nodded and headed to their rooms with their bag, in Fleetfoot’s case, two bags. I headed to the kitchen to get a drink and to process what I just learned about their personal life.
I grabbed my drink and went into the front room. The girls were sitting on the couch, still blushing on what I found. I sat across from them and said, “Every day all of ya are going to have chores, and on the weekdays, I’m going to help one of you bathe since I don’t have a big tub. You will not answer the door or the phone. If you need something, write it down. Your dirty clothes will be done on Saturday. That’s all for now, but I might have more rules later on. You all may now go to your room.
As they were walking away, something dawned on me. How far can this altar magic go? I know that I can give them commands and all, but what else can I do. When she was right in front of me, she said, “A guard went to the campsite where you and the wonderbolts were staying, but the pony in charge says that you never made it there, and one of my guards say he saw you in Canterlot the same day you were supposed to be at the camp. Care to explain?”
I shrugged and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m watching the wonderbolts like Celestia asked me.”
She glared at me and was about to say something, but my alarm clock was going off. I jolted awake and sighed, saved by the alarm. I got up and started packing. After I was done, I headed outside my room to smell a musty smell. I opened Spitfire’s door, to get hit with the smell full force. I guess they haven’t showered in two days. I walked up to her and said, “Grab your stuff, follow me to the bathroom, and get undressed.” She opened her eyes and stood up. I went to the bathroom to get the water started. Once it was filled, I shut off the water, turned around, and almost jumped out of my skin. Spitfire was standing right behind me. I got out of the way and motioned her to get in. She stepped in and sat down in the tub. I went to the closet and grabbed a bucket, then I came back, filled it with water, and poured it on her. She just sat there, like nothing happened. After everyone was bathed, dressed, and packed. I grabbed my bags and headed to the cart I’ve taken and started piling the bags in. After that was done. I said to the wonderbolt, “One by one, I want you all to pile in the cart with the cloaks on to hide who you are. Don’t make eye contact with anypony.” They piled in and I headed to the gate.
When no one was looking, I piled the bags into the back of the train and attached the cart to the back of the train. Then we got in and sat down, trying to avoid suspicion.
