THE TWO SIDES OF THE MOON

Day 219: A long time ago since that occasion and I still can’t figure out how to reach a highest level; I’ve tried everything, gathered all the books I can, practicing day and night but it’s not enough; though at the beginning seemed I went by the right path, now I feel stagnant.
Sometimes I miss my show, but that was needed to leave it aside by a while, only so I could focus to increase my power, my magic.
I can’t give up; I must carry on trying until I get it. That power with the Alicorn Amulet was amazing but it was an artefact too dangerous, I didn’t even feel myself.
I must recognize that thanks to Twilight I realized that wasn’t the way to be powerful, to be great, that motivated me; only with hard work I can achieve my goals and though I feel a little jealous of her, without her help possibly I would’ve been really bad and even more alone than now.
The loneliness doesn’t bother me, but sometimes I need of somepony to feel alright, that’s another thing that I feel jealous of Twilight, she with her friends always supporting her and I… only wandering for all Equestria in a tireless quest of power but not with the same thoughts, now I only want to become stronger.
I’ve even had nightmares, the next one worse than the previous one, but all of them about the same, being so long time alone makes me feel insane.

After a long time, The Great and Powerful Trixie reappeared. All that time she had been traveling for all Equestria trying to improve her magic skills without so much success. The problem began due to she’d been all that time alone that instead of help her to focus in that made her feel depressed.
She had been in almost all Equestria gathering any spell she found, but since a long time she couldn’t improve, to be exact, since the half of the time she couldn’t to, besides another problem was finding a place to sleep, getting food and somethings more made that task hardest and she had almost a year in that.
Every day she wrote down in a journal what about that day, how she felt or simply to keep herself in time.
Her next target was the Crystal Empire, one of those places she hadn’t gone until then, to carry on with her quest.
“It’s already falling the night and if I continue walking may be dangerous, I think I’ll camp here and tomorrow I’ll finally arrive.” She unpacked a little tent she’d gotten in one of those places and set it up. “I hope there was nothing over here, this place is creepy.”
Trixie finished to set her tent up and entered, earliest than late she fell asleep. She slept at most an hour when a strange sound woke her up.
“What was that?!” Trixie stood up right away but didn’t know if it was a good idea leave to explore. “Maybe staying here was a very bad idea.”
It wasn’t too late in that night, but darkness was total and in a place completely lonely with civilization at several kilometers, being there alone became in an awful idea.
Once again Trixie heard a sound, but there wasn’t just one, they came from different directions; they were approaching where Trixie was.
“Damn!! Now what I do, they’ve got me surrounded.” She felt very scared. “I figure there are at least four but maybe there are more. I’ve got to run off, but how.”
The tent began to shake, one of those creatures was taking it and its claws ripped the fabric.
“They’re already here, it’ll be impossible run off, but if I don’t try it I’ll be their dinner.”Trixie took a deep breathe, and she left running as fast as she could from the tent, she barely moved some meters before of crash with one of those creatures.
They had big red eyes, edged teeth, long black hair; that beast was on its two paws. They looked intimidating.
Trixie stayed paralyzed in front of that imposing beast, it leaned to watch Trixie with those deep red eyes. She moved back slowly and suddenly the beast roared very loud that Trixie felt a few seconds her ears were to explode, after that she tried to run off, but the beasts reached her with relatively easiness, one of them put in front of her and roared again.
“Let me alone horrible creature.” She threw an attack with her horn and blinded for a while at the beast, she ran again. Completely angered, the beast reached her again and hit her making she fell at the ground, at the same time the rest of the beasts arrived and surrounded Trixie. “Please‼ Let me go, I haven’t done anything, I beg you!”
Just when the same beast was going to hit her again, got an attack from somewhere and was thrown off by the air; it fell very hard on the ground. The beasts turned around to the being that attacked their mate and without a doubt were to fight with it.
Trixie couldn’t watch the fight, it was too dark, she only could watch some shining and how those beasts were falling defeated one by one.
The fall that Trixie had was serious; she fractured her back hooves and had a wound on her head that was bleeding out. That made she slowly lost the conscience.
Trixie woke up gasping, “Where I am,” she said herself looking around side to side. She noticed that was in a room, her tent was there and all her books she gathered were in a corner, “my things are here but, what is this place, who brought me here, maybe it’s a nightmare.” Trixie put a hoof on her head and felt a bandage. Looking for the way to make it sense she tried to get out of the bed but her back hooves hurt at try to move them. “Auuuch, I think it’s not a nightmare.”
“Hopefully it had been a nightmare.” A voice came behind a door a bit open in the room.
“Who are you? What is this place?” Trixie asked it trying to stand up and groaned again.
“Stay lying, you are really harmed, stay so, don’t worry, you’re safe,” the voice said with total calm.
“But tell me, who you are and why those creatures attacked me.”
“Wait a moment and I’ll tell you everything.”
Around of thirty seconds passed and when the door were opened completely, from there left a pony never expected by Trixie, it was Princess Luna, but she had a bandage on her right forward hoof.
“Princess Luna, you saved me!” Trixie couldn’t avoid beaming at seeing she was behind her rescue. “But they harmed you too, Are you ok? I mean…your majesty.”
“Don’t worry Trixie, I am alright, this isn’t the first time I fight with those monsters. They’re known as Hunters; by the way, you were so lucky to leave with life, those monsters are very hostile but that is just the beginning, they have very good view in night, a sense of smell very acute and an impressing strength, plus they are very fast. That hit could have killed you; you had luck.”
“Hunters? I’d never heard about them in my life. So they could killed me, oh my gosh!” Trixie was very surprised, her skin turned pale.
“They are nocturnal creatures and live in far regions of Equestria. Fortunately there are not so many of them.”
“But how you got beat them?”
“It’s very hard beat them but the better way to get it is blind them, though they have good smell, in combat it’s not useful. Still when they appeared bring a lot of problems.”
“I see. Thank you so much for save me Princess but I don’t understand, I know you have your duties being a Princess but, how did you know I was in danger? I mean, I was very far from here.”
“It’s true, I have duties apart of raise the moon and make guard in the night, but I am the Princess of the dreams, my duty is help the ponies that have problems in their dreams and you, you have a problem, you feel alone” – the Princess sat down on the bed leaning her head and looking down – “so I was going to enter at your dreams and help you, but the Hunters appeared and you know the rest.”
“You were gonna to help me?” Trixie said surprised.
“Yes, that’s my royal duty. Though, I’ve got to admit, I feel identify with your problem. I’ve also felt alone and even now I feel better, the night is still too lonely. Talking with you would be helpful to you and me.
Trixie would’ve never imagined that the Princess told her that, her expression was evident that she didn’t know if saying what she was thinking. “I never thought that somepony like you Princess could feel of that way. No offense but, I always see you as ponies without any problem, that had everything you want, at your disposition.”
“So many times having everything at your disposition doesn’t mean it’ll bring happiness. Sometimes one may lack of simple things like a friend.”
“But you’re a Princess of Equestria, one of the most important ponies; you have a lot of subjects that respect and love you.”
“You said it, they see me as their Princess. My sister found out a long time ago how to get along with the ponies, making some of them her students, of that way had a relationship more deep and she could make a true friendship. You know the case of Twilight Sparkle; she achieved a very high level of knowledge that even my sister became her into an alicorn and at the same time in a Princess.”
“I know, it’s incredible how much Twilight has gotten.” Trixie stayed in silence for a little while, she thought in something that filled her with curiosity. “Now that you mention it Princess, have you had students?”
“Yes, but she wasn’t exactly my student, she was student of my sister and mine. Her name is Radiant Hope and I’ve got to admit she had the level to become into an alicorn but by her decision it couldn’t be possible.”
“I never heard about that pony-“Trixie felt a sudden pain in her head, put her hoof and groaned “- aaauh‼ My head.”
“It will be better you rest,“ Princess Luna said standing up, “this night was too hard for you and you are not in condition to keep awake the whole night. Go to sleep.”
“Right, thank you so much Princess, again. I will never finish to thank you, but just one more question.”
The Princess turned to see her and said, “Tell me.”
“Where are we? Just to be sure.”
Princess Luna beamed and said, “In Canterlot, of course.”
Trixie beamed too and lie down ready to sleep.
In the morning, Trixie woke up and found an amazing breakfast on a tray aside the bed.
“Oh‼ This looks delicious, I’m hungry,” said Trixie licking her lips.
It was a pile of hay sandwich and a fruit bowl. She ate everything in a few minutes.
Princess Luna went to the room exactly when Trixie was going to bite an unshelled apple, “I can see you’re enjoying your food, right,” Princess Luna said smiling.
“I am, thank you so much, Princess.”
“How do you feel? Did you sleep alright?” Princess Luna asked her while approached.
“My head and my hooves hurt, but now that I feel full better.” Trixie answered before to bite again her apple.
“Alright, if you need anything just call me, ok?” The Princess turned around ready to leave of the room.
“Actually Princess, there’s something I’d like to ask you,“ said Trixie with a tone doubtful.
“Tell me, what do you need?”
“Well… as you already know since a long time ago I’ve been trying to improve my magical skills, but I haven’t gotten the progress I wish. You said me yesterday that Princess Celestia, your sister, had found the way to get along with the ponies making some of them her students, so, I thought… I don’t know if you want… eehhm well, I’d like you become me in your protégé. Please Princess, I would love study with you.” Trixie put her hoover in signal of appeal.
Princess Luna’s eyes sparkled and opened wide like if she’d found out a valuable treasure. Something that she wouldn’t have ever imagined, her surprise made her think a thousand things in a little while, somepony wants to learn from me, somepony wants me as its teacher, she thought without avoid beaming. “You want that I… train you? You really want to study magic with me?”
“Of course I do, if you agree and are not too busy, I’d love to be your protégé.”
I’d love to be your protégé, those words sounded in Luna’s mind like the best compliment she’d ever heard. Luna didn’t believe what was happening; she was going to get her own student, her own protégé anxious to learn from her. “Of course, I’d love it too!” Princess Luna said very happy showing herself inappropriately as she has usual showed with her subjects, “I mean, Yes, I’ll be your teacher.”
“Really? Oh thank you Princess, I swear you I will not fail you,“ Trixie said thrilled, she thought the Princess would deny her request, “and, when will be the first lesson?”
“Relax Trixie, you are still harmed, first you’ve got to be ok and later we’ll start with the lessons.”
“Fine, again, thank you so much, Princess, I’ll do my best.”
“You’re welcome Trixie, now, rest.”
The Princess left from the room with a wide smile and went to tell it at Princess Celestia.
When she arrived where Princess Celestia was she immediately said her, “Celie, there you are, I have amazing news.”
“Let me know what it is, my sister,” Celestia said her, she was checking out some papers.
“I’ll have my first student,” Luna said that raising her hoof to the sky and extending her wings.
“Really?” Celestia turned to see her and beamed, “I so happy for you Luna, I thought you don’t like those things.”
“I like them, it was just I hadn’t had my own student.”
“And who is it?”
“Her name is Trixie, this last night I had to rescue her; she was attacked by some Hunters.”
“Trixie?” Now you mention her I remember that Twilight told me about her,” Celestia said her while checked out the papers again, but suddenly she stopped, “wait, you said Hunters?”
“Yes, she was so lucky, when I arrived she was surrounded by four of them and…”
“Luna, you don’t understand what that means, you know those creature are too dangerous. Even you could’ve died.”
“Don’t underestimate me sister, I’m not as weak as you think.” That comment made Luna feel upset, that emotion by the news of Trixie disappeared.
“Don’t misunderstand me Luna, I didn’t mean that, it’s just when I fought with them was very hard to me defeat them.”
“I also have fought with them so many times, maybe more than you. Remember they’re nocturnal creatures.”
“I know, just beware. Next time don’t go alone to fight with them, please.”
“Sure, sure, it’ll be better I go to sleep, bye.” Luna left from there still upset.
“Right, see you later.” Celestia said her with an expression of concern.
Luna went toward her room whispering some complains, it was early in that day and she didn’t want nopony heard her, “Who she think she is, I’m very sure that I’ve defeated those creature more times than anypony in Equestria and she think that I can’t deal with it. She always feels the best… ok, relax Luna, we already passed by this a lot time ago and that didn’t end well.” Luna passed by Trixie’s room, look inside to see how she was; she was asleep, Luna carried on her way to her room. “I’ll show her I can be as good as she is, even better teacher than her, I’ll make of Trixie a unicorn as powerful as Twilight and she’ll see she must not underestimate me,” Luna came at her room, got in the bed and stayed thoughtful a few seconds, “I’ll do my best for Trixie has the best teacher she could’ve ever imagined and she becomes into a unicorn most gifted that Equestria has ever seen, I will.” Luna closed her eyes and slept.
It was the time to raise the moon; Princess Luna woke up and got ready to make guard in the night. She left from her room toward where Celestia was. In the way, she went to see how Trixie was, she was very concentrated reading a book named Effects of Overload Magic that not even noticed the Princess was there for a little while; Luna decided not interrupt her.
“Impressing,” Luna said herself, “it seems she’s really involved in becoming stronger. I can’t wait she heals and start the lessons.”
Luna came where Celestia always wait for her, the place where they’ve always raised the moon or the sun, depending what time is.
Celestia looked Luna and smile friendly, “Howdy Luna. Are you ready?”
“Yes, I am. You can begin whenever you want.”
“Are you annoyed yet?”
“What… oh no… I’m alright, I’m just thoughtful.”
“What are you thinking?”
“What it will be my first lesson for Trixie, I mean, she already has knowledge about magic“- Luna began to raise the moon; the sun was almost completely hidden - “so, I can’t start with basic things, that would just be to lose the time.”
“I’m pretty sure you’ll do a great job, just one advice. “ Luna turned to see her, Celestia did the same. “Don’t give her all the answers too easy.”
“What do you mean?”
“So many times your student must be whom searches its answers and its own way, you are her guide when she really doesn’t know what to do, or when she’s in a big problem she can’t solve by her own. You must give her courage to follow ahead. She’s got to know that with her own effort is able to reach any goal she has.”
“I see, in fact, a little while ago I saw her reading a big book. Ok Celie, thanks by the advice, I’ll take it.”
“You’re welcome, Luna,” Celestia said her and turned around to go into the castle; the moon already was on the top, “Good night, I’ll go to sleep.”
“Good night, “ Luna answered staying out a few seconds, thinking about the words of her sister; she eventually went into the castle, “Don’t give her all the answers, “ said to herself leading to the throne of the castle, “Make she finds her own way, I think I’ve got to plan how I’m going to teach her instead to stay sat doing anything.”
Luna went back and she leaded to a room bellow the castle. It was huge and it had inner rooms, plus a lot of book, it actually seemed like a library, but the difference was not anypony had access.
Luna was at least an hour choosing books and scrolls that contained any kind of spells that would help her for her first own student ever. “I think with those books it’s enough,“ she said carrying upstairs everything with her, “It’ll be better I go to see her, maybe she needs something.”
Luna arrived to the room and got a big surprise seeing Trixie stood up, and trying to make an age spell to a little seed, without success.
“I just don’t understand,” said Trixie very upset, she has been trying to dominate that spell a long time ago, “when I wore the Alicorn Amulet it was a very easy spell, how I can’t do it again.”
“The Alicorn Amulet‼”, Luna exclaimed with a tiny voice, but it was obvious she was very surprised, “that amulet has been lost hundred years, how she got it.”
Luna entered into the room trying to hide her surprise.
“Oh… good night Princess,” said Trixie friendly.
“Good night Trixie, you should be resting, you still are not in condition to do any kind of spell, not even being stand up.”
“I know I must keep lied down but, it’s so boring to be without doing anything.” Trixie sat down in the bed disappointed.
“You’ll heal soon, but if you don’t rest enough the time to heal will delay,” said the Princess sitting down aside her. Then she put a serious expression, “when I was arriving I heard you tell something, something about an amulet.”
“You mean the Alicorn Amulet,” said Trixie without doubts, “I wore that amulet to take vengeance against Twilight after she humiliated in Ponyville.”
“I see, might you tell me where it is?”
“I don’t know, Princess, I’m sorry, “Trixie said looking down, “Twilight gave it to a zebra and she put it into a little box, after that I haven’t gone back to Ponyville.”
“Did you know that amulet is very unstable? It could make you lose your sanity at all.”
“What?!” Trixie shouted, she felt terrified by that information, “I just knew that amulet gave to the user a power that increased each second that passed but, I didn’t know that could corrupt the user.”
“Not everything in the life is free, Trixie. That amulet gives an incredible power but it has a cost, and the cost is the feeling to never being satisfied, always want more with even more wish.”
“Now you say it, I remember I felt quite desperation when I wore it, but I thought I just was the adrenaline or something like that but well, I already understand.”
“The Alicorn Amulet hides a lot of secrets, it has been lost many years and as the histories tell, several ponies have used it, but what we know about it is told by the witnesses that saw the users, because any user has been seen again. I’ve got to find who has it and get it back. It must be out of the reach of any another pony that wants get it, “ said Luna standing up and going to the exit, “stay here, if you don’t want sleep it’s alright, but don’t make any spell.”
“Ok Princess and thank you for take care of me,” said Trixie beaming.
Luna left from the room and leaded out of the castle too. “I must find Twilight.” Luna extended her wings and took off toward Ponyville.
When she arrived, immediately went to the Castle of Friendship; knocked the door and took a little while until the doors were opened.
“Princess Luna!” said Spike rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“Hello Spike, is Twilight in home?”
“She’s asleep but I’ll wake her up, please, come in, Princess.” Spike opened the doors and let her go in.
“Thanks Spike.”
“Is there something bad happening?”
“Don’t worry, Spike, I just have something to ask to the Princess Twilight.”
“Well, stay here please.”
Spike ran toward Twilight’s room. Sounded how they were whispering and later the doors were opened completely; Twilight left hurriedly thinking it was something urgent. She’s always took her royal duties very seriously.
“Princess Luna, what have happened? Is there something I’ve got to solve? Equestria’s future is in danger by an unknown threat?” Even if Twilight was asleep, she would always be ready for any situation.
“Relax Twilight, anything bad is happening, I just want ask you something,” said Princess Luna and approached to Twilight, “I know a time ago you and a stranger unicorn had a magic duel, her name is Trixie, do you remember her?”
“Trixie‼” Twilight shouted, she hadn’t heard about Trixie since that occasion. How she would forget the pony that put in check all Ponyville. “Of course, I remember her; don’t tell me she’s making her malfeasances again.”
“Nothing of that, I know that she wore a strange amulet, The Alicorn Amulet. You gave it to a zebra to save it, I need to know you tell me where is that zebra.”
“The Alicorn Amulet… right, she wore that…” said Twilight thoughtfully, “yes Princess, Zecora has the amulet, she lives in the Everfree Forest, if you want I can carry you until she is.”
“Don’t worry Twilight, I can find her home, just tell me where is the path I’ve got to follow.”
“Yes Princess, but a question,“ said Twilight while went with the Princess Luna until the exit, “Why do you need the amulet?”
“Look Twilight, that amulet is so unstable, besides it could be a very bad threat if it’s not under control, something that anypony in the history has been able to do, thus everypony in Equestria is in danger.”
“I didn’t know it was so dangerous, in the book that my friends and I searched the information was short and I couldn’t find anymore.”
“That’s due to every user of the amulet has been disappeared and they couldn’t tell anything, just the witnesses have told something.”
They arrived at the exit and both stopped.
“Just one more thing Princess,” said Twilight, “how did you know I fought with Trixie and she wore that amulet? Princess Celestia told you?”
“My sister didn’t tell me, it was the same Trixie. She almost dies a day ago and I saved her, after that we talked of several things and she requested me I make her my protégé. And about the amulet, I heard her talking with herself and she confessed me.”
“Your protégé!” Twilight exclaimed very surprised, “I didn’t thing you have students too.”
“She’s going to be my very first student,” Luna smirked.
“I didn’t expect that,” said Twilight putting her hoof on her forehead, bellow her horn.
“Me neither but she requested me and well, I’d like to have my own student. Now, I’ll let you go to sleep, but tell me which is the path to Zecora’s home.”
Twilight gave indication to the Princess Luna; both said goodbye, Luna went flying to the Everfree Forest and Twilight got in her castle.
“So, Trixie’s back,“ said Spike that was hearing the whole conversation.
“I don’t know Spike, Trixie was regret by her actions but I still don’t know if trust in her,” said Twilight in skeptical tone.
“At least Princess Luna will be there, if Trixie try something bad again she can stop her.”
“You’re right Spike, well, go back to sleep.”
Princess Luna already was in the Everfree Forest, following Twilight’s indication exactly as Twilight told her.
“This must be the place,” said Luna at herself, “I mean, there wouldn’t be another house in the Everfree Forest, just someone brave could live here.”
Luna knocked the door; Zecora took a little while but finally opened the door.
“Princess Luna! Why are you here?” Zecora was very confused that she even forgot for a while to rhyme.
“Hello Zecora, I need request you something that you have. It’s about The Alicorn Amulet, I need you give me it back, it would be most secure if it is in Canterlot, saved.”
“Oh The Alicorn Amulet you said, please Princess, come in while I looking for it.”
“Thanks Zecora,” said Princess Luna.
Zecora opened a box that had inside a bunch of book and scrolls; she took a box littlest and there the amulet was. “All this time the amulet has been here, I gave up trying to understand it; it’s too complex to me.” Zecora gave the box to the Princess.
“Did you study it? Please tell me you didn’t wear it.”
“Of course not, Princess, I know it’s dangerous, wearing it would be being careless.”
“Alright, thank you again Zecora for saved it here.”
“Is there something more I can help you?” Zecora said saving all that was inside the box.
“No, this is all. Good night Zecora, now I go.”
“Good night, Princess.”
Luna left from Zecora’s home and leaded back to Canterlot.
“That was even easiest than I thought,” said Princess herself, “now, I’ve got to hide it.”
Luna arrived at the Canterlot Castle, she went downstairs at de underground floors, arriving until the bottom.
Princess Luna decided keep the amulet inside in the same box that Zecora had. She covered it with a spell pronouncing a words in an ancient language.
“I think it’s not enough with just one seal. I’ll put another one.”
Luna talked in that ancient language again and threw a spell to the box, appeared a lock. Luna was using spells that anypony knew apart of the two princesses - Celestia and Luna. Those spells are seals. They looked like simple spells, but the reality was that not anypony would be able to make them.
“Very well, here nopony will take it again.”
Luna went back upstairs, closing very carefully the underground rooms full with strange devices and scrolls.
After that night has been passed a month; Trixie was already healed and that night she was going to have her very first lessons withPrincess Luna, just two hours to the Princess raised the moon and began the lessons as her protégé.
Trixie had been used to sleep during the day to be awake in the night, just as Princess Luna. That was vantage for Trixie, of that way she would harness of better way the time with the princess.
Trixie watched since her room how Princess Celestia descended the sun and Princess Luna raised the moon.
The emotion that Trixie had was huge, that was going to be the very first lesson with her new mentor. She walked side to side, thinking, what about the new spells she was going to learn, all the knowledge that Princess Luna had where Trixie was going to learn from. Also a lot of adventures they could have; accompany the Princess to explore some incredible places in Equestria, and maybe, she would learn something about Princess Luna’s transformation, what more Trixie would wish. Learning from a pony as amazing as Princess Luna is. Without a doubt, Trixie was living one of the best moments in her life, so ironic, a month ago she almost died.
Trixie saw when Princess Celestia went into the castle and Luna stayed out. She had the indication from the Princess to remain there until she was to call her.
Finally, Luna went into in the castle, she took ten minutes and went to call Trixie, time that seemed like an hour for her, but when the Princess came, she jump up by the emotion, ran as fast as she could and opened the door with a smile ear to ear.
“Are you ready?” asked the Princess.
“Of course, I’ve been expecting it for all this time.”
Luna beamed and said, “Me too. Follow me, by your first lesson we must be outside.”
Trixie followed her; they arrived outside and Trixie began telling her, “And what we’re gonna do first, Princess. Age spells, super-speed spells or maybe super-strength spells, oh oh you know about time travel,” she couldn’t let to talk.
“Ha ha ha relax Trixie, those spells are some impossible for you right now. In fact, time travel spells just Star Swirl the Bearded has gotten, did you hear talk about him?”
“Of course, I have some of his books. With what we’re gonna start?” Trixie was impatient, she had more than a month waiting for.
“Well, as you already are not a filly and already have a control with your magic, it is not needed I teach you basic things, but I’ve got to know until your power is able to reach and start since there,” Trixie was very concentrated in every word that the Princess said, she didn’t even do any movement, neither blinked, “so the first think we’ll do is have a duel.”
“WHAT?!” Trixie shouted surprised by that affirmation, “but Princess, you are so much strong than me, I’ll never be able to defeat you.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you, I just want to prove how much power you have and start with the lessons; so, get ready!” Princess Luna extended her wings and put a defensive pose.
“Are you sure about this?” Trixie asked doubtful if attack or not to the Princess.
“Of course, now, show me what you have.”
Trixie began to sweat, passed a hoof by her forehead, “Alright, here I go!”
Trixie put an attack pose, she ran rapidly toward the Princess, the Princess smiled and waited for the attack, but Trixie teleported above the Princess and threw an attack against her; the Princess was very surprised by the Trixie’s cunning, she ducked the attack jumping at her left. Trixie got down at the ground and threw another attack to the Princess that jumped up to avoid this new attack keeping herself flying, then the Princess attacked to Trixie at the same form, throwing her magic; Trixie didn’t expect that the Princess were to attack her and so she got the attack directly, fell and stood up again.
“Is that all you have?” Princess Luna was daring her.
“Of course not,” said Trixie shaking the dust off.
Trixie put an attack pose again and ran, threw a wave of energy to the ground to get impulse ant reach the princess that was flying yet; Trixie tried to hit the Princess with her forward hoof and the Princess ducked it easily, again Trixie tried to kick her, the Princess blocked it with her hoof and with the another one hit Trixie too strong that threw her on a tree.
“I didn’t expect you knew to fight, Trixie,” said the Princess thrilled.
Trixie was holding a branch to avoid falling at the ground; she got up and said, “I’ve been in a lot of places in Equestria, some of them it’s the only way to survive.”
“Well then, get ready; this is my turn to attack you.”
The Princess let herself fall directly to Trixie that waited for her knowing what to do; Trixie used her magic and arise some branches with good size that she broke when she crashed with the tree; Trixie threw them to the Princess but the princess with her magic destroyed them and carried on toward Trixie; Luna’s horn began to charge quite amount of magic illuminating with a shining, she attacked Trixie with that magic and there was an explosion.
The Princess approached to see how Trixie was, but she wasn’t there.
“WHAT‼” Luna shouted.
“Over here, Princess.”
Trixie was floating above the Princess with her magic, she threw a spell to the ground and the roots left and trapped the Princess tying completely her body, just her head was out.
“I can’t be possible,” the Princess shouted again, “I was so careless.”
“And what Princess,” Trixie said approaching to the Princess, “give up?”
“Don’t think that because you’ve got me so I’m defeated; those roots won’t be able to retain me.”
Luna began to show her incredible strength and just with her wings and hooves was able to break the roots that had her trapped. She did it without magic.
“How did you do that?!” Trixie asked her amazed, “that’s one of my best spells.”
“Being an alicorn doesn’t just mean you can rule, it also means you have quite strength and magic” - Luna shook the dust off - “but I’ve got to admit that was a great idea.”
Luna’s horn began to spark and threw a spell to the ground, more root appeared and trapped Trixie at the same form Luna was. Trixie tried to set herself free but it was useless, she couldn’t even break them with magic.
“As you see it’s a very easy spell.” Luna set Trixie free and she fell at the ground very tired, the Princess got down and stayed aside her. “Alright, I think it’s enough by today. I can see you have a lot of capabilities, you know to fight very well; you thought a plan to capture me and you even got it. You’ve got to work in your defense but you have good attack.”
Trixie was still gasping and stood up slowly, “Why did you want we had a duel, Princess? I don’t understand, I thought we were going to study magic.”
“We will, Trixie. But I don’t like the way to just study old books,“ said Luna while they’re went back inside the castle, “I know it’s pretty important but it’s not everything. I want make of you an unicorn able to use your magic but also your body to defend yourself, it’s not the fact to be expert in magic, it’s also important have control of your body and knowing use it. It may be some occasion you can’t use your magic to defend yourself of somepony, if you don’t know defend yourself with your own body it’s a fact you will lose and you may end really bad. It’s by that I want apart to become you in an unicorn expert in magic, becoming you into a warrior.
“A warrior!” Trixie exclaimed stopped herself.
“Yes, in magic you already have a high level so it won’t be problem, but I wanted to watch you in battle to know if you were skillful… and you don’t do it nothing bad.” The Princess made a sign for Trixie and she followed her.
“So, will we have more battles?” Trixie asked.
“Right, but not all the time, I’ll train you and some occasion we’ll fight to prove how much you’ve progressed.”
“This… is… awesome! I didn’t think that The Great and Powerful Trixie would become into a warrior!”
Luna beamed kindly, “Though to call yourself a ‘Warrior’ you need a lot of training, do you think you can get it?”
“Of course, there’s anything that The Great and Powerful Trixie scares.”
“That is what I wanted hear. Well, we come, come in and wait a moment, I’ll bring somethings.”
Trixie entered into the room which was wide, it was full of scientific devices, even there were some machines.
Princess Luna came back and brought with her a bunch of old books.
“What is this place, Princess?” Trixie asked looking everything with curiosity.
“Here is where Star Swirl did his experiments,” said Luna, “Well, You’ll start learning basic age spells; at the beginning it’s something hard to get it but when you do, it’ll be easier.” Princess Luna put a seed in a flowerpot, used her magic and got to become that little seed into a red rose. “Now, try it.”
Trixie approached to the flowerpot, put a seed and used her magic, nothing happened.
Trixie made an expression of disgust and tried again but she couldn’t; she began to upset. Luna just watched with attention.
“Remember that to make it grows you must use more magic; this spell consists in accelerate the cells of the seed.”
Trixie nodded, charged her horn and threw her spell; for a little while the plant grew up but immediately withered; that bothered Trixie.
“Well, using too much magic could make it die, you must focus for use the amount of magic needed. Keep trying, I’ll come after a while, I will see if everything is alright.”
“Ok Princess, I’ll be here.”
Princess Luna went with the royal guards, “Is everything alright?” she asked with calm.
“Everything is ok, Princess,” answered one of them.
“Perfect.”
Princess Luna left from the castle to fix all the disaster they let after the duel with Trixie.
She flew to the highest tower to watch for telescope; everything seemed so pacific.
“There’s anything interesting over here, I’ll back with Trixie,” said to herself while she leaded where Trixie was.
When she arrived noticed that Trixie hadn’t gotten to make the spell.
“How about the spell?” asked Princess Luna.
“I can’t, I just can’t,” said Trixie upset, “I’ve been trying all this time and I can’t.”
“You’ve got to be patient, if you don’t get it, try to do it in an easiest way.”
“What do you mean? Is there an easiest way to do it?” Trixie immediately turned to see the Princess.
“I just say that not everypony is able to do things at the same way, or understanding it. If you can’t do it, try another way that you already know.
“You mean… I base in something?”
“Exactly, what is that thing you can base?”
“I don’t know any similar spell.”
“Are you sure?”
“Well yes… I think so.”
“Just remember.”
“Well… I don’t know if this is what you mean but, spells to increase the size of anything, like which one I used with the roots.”
“Exactly! That’s what I mean, there you used it to increase their size, well, their length, but you didn’t impact directly the cells."
“So, I’ve got to spell the cells and accelerate their growing.”
“Try it, you were close once, just be patient.”
Trixie got ready to make her spell, charged her horn and did it. This time, a beautiful red rose soon came up and bloomed.
“I did it‼” Trixie jump up excited.
“Perfect!” exclaimed Princess Luna beaming, “now, try again.”
Trixie took another seed and did it again; she had success and celebrated again.
“Very well,” said Princess Luna, “you already know the basic to an age spell, now, that you just do, make it get back into a little seed.”
“A seed, got it,” said Trixie ready to do it.
Trixie got ready, threw her spell but the rose barely got back into a rosebud.
“Close enough, this spell is hardest,” said Princess Luna, “you’ve got to get back the cells into their primitive status.”
“I’ll get it,” said Trixie decided, now she got the first spell, she felt anything couldn’t stop her.
Trixie kept trying for a while, until a few minutes she got it and seemed she already dominated it.
The Princess was very happy by the quick progress that Trixie had in just one night; she even got to make growing a big tree and got it back into its original status.
“Very well, Trixie, if you carry on so, we’ll progress very fast,” said Princess Luna while she congratulated her, “by this night it’s everything, it’s almost time to descend the moon and raise the sun.”
“Ok Princess, I’m some tired, I’ll take shower and later to sleep.”
“Perfect, get ready because this was just the beginning. Tomorrow will be hardest.”
“Of course I’ll be”
Trixie went to take a shower. Luna already was out of the castle waiting for her sister to descend the moon.
Earlier than late she came, “Morning sister,” greeted friendly, “How was your first lesson with Trixie?”
“It was fantastic!” said Luna thrilled, “she is more gifted than I thought, finally she got to dominate that age spell in this night, well, she haven’t tried it with another things instead of plants, but she’s very good.”
“I’m so happy to hear that,” said Celestia raising the sun, “you look very excited too.”
“I am sister, I am.”
Both princesses made the task of every day. Luna said goodbye and went to rest.
A year has passed since Trixie began her studies and training with Princess Luna. With magic she finally got dominate the age spell that a long time was denied, she also was able to multiply another beings or well, create clones of them, even she got to multiply herself, and some complex spells she has learned.
Thanks to the battles her strength and speed have been increased so much, she has even had battles with the royal guards and got defeated them, without magic, but when she fought with Princess Luna still was weakest than her, despite she remained more time than the beginning even giving her a lot of problems, the Princess by obvious experience got to solve them and eventually defeat to Trixie with relative easiness. Trixie still had a long way to pass if she wanted to reach the level of the Princess in combat and magic, but her progress was incredible.
It happened something very special between Princess Luna and Trixie, they have made a great friendship, even they were inseparable. Trixie passed almost all the time with the Princess not just training and practicing magic, also getting along as friends, they were closer even more than Princess Celestia and Twilight.
Princess Luna had a lot of confidence on Trixie, she’s told her so many things, like the time she had been banished to the moon by a thousand years, the anger she had but at the same time she was regret by her actions. Trixie also has told her about the time she was alone, despite she had her show she always was alone.
That loneliness was what made them inseparable, finding somepony that had passed as loneliness as each other made them feel they weren’t alone anymore, they were together and they had each other.
Princess Luna ‘s love by Trixie has been huge, that she didn’t see Trixie as her protégé, she saw her as her little sister; in fact both saw each other at the same form – Trixie saw Princess Luna as her big sister of course. They weren’t alone anymore.
“Well Trixie, you have learned all the spells and lessons I’ve taught you, now, it’s time to increase the level,” said Princess Luna, “I think it’s you learn something new; I’ll teach you new magic that you’ve never seen, maybe my sister didn’t even teach this to Twilight, but I see your progress has been quite, it’s time you learn this.”
“I’m ready, tell me about it,” Trixie said while she stood up.
“I’ll teach you how make and break seals. It’s a very ancient method of defense that currently it’s not used, in fact, its use was left aside since my sister and I used the Elements of Harmony to defeat Discord more than a thousand years ago. In that time, it was our best defense against any foe, but Discord had, of rather, he has a powerful and strange magic that any other being I know has; that time our seals had no any effect in him. Now there’s a variation of them but they’re weakest than the originals.”
“So, you couldn’t defeat him with that,” said Trixie with a skeptical tone, “but then for what it would work to learn that if it’s obsolete.”
“If you fight with Discord it would be totally obsolete, but Discord is already reformed, there’s no problem. They are very powerful defensive spells, if you’re clever you can even use them to attack.”
“Really?” Trixie began to look persuaded, “alright, but, what kind of thing I can do with seals?”
“There are seals to almost everything. Since block a door, until to seal a whole city to avoid that invaders get in, you could seal Canterlot if you purpose yourself; actually you can make up and figure out any kind of seal if you’re creative, as I tell you, it works for almost everything. It’s one of my favorite methods, in fact I’m specialist in seals,” she said this last phrase with a higher pose, “I overcome even my sisters, though she overcomes me in other subjects.”
“You overcome Princess Celestia in seals.” Trixie was very surprised to hear that, “That’s incredible Luna!”
“Yes! I just have to tell you that there’s a disadvantage with the seals. They’re proportional at the magic whom does it, thus it’s improbable you seal somepony stronger than you, it’s not impossible but it would have to be a perfect seal. Do you remember when I told you about my banished to the moon?” Princess Luna said while walked to the windows, Trixie nodded and saw how Luna looked the moon, “well, that was a seal; my sister not only banished me to the moon, she sealed me there and despite I was stronger than her in that moment and I am expert in seals, I couldn’t do anything against that, as she used the Elements of Harmony’s magic to seal me. She fused the two methods of defense there were and created a super strong seal impossible to break, the only way to break it was to wait it disappeared by itself, but it was so strong it lasted by one thousand years.”
“So, that is the reason you hadn’t come back,” Trixie said thoughtful. She looked her and understood she had no to ask anymore, Princess Luna looked sad, “Well, what do I need to learn?”
“First than anything, you’ve got to learn an ancient language that was used since more than a thousand year ago specially to seal. It is known as ‘Laspafrá itpo’. It is some complex but I know you can learn it; follow me, I’ll give you some books for you begin right now.”
Princess Luna went with Trixie where Star Swirl made his experiments; they came at a shelf where there were a bunch of dusty books. Princess Luna took three books and blew at one to remove the dust, it made them cough.
“Well, with this you’ll -“ Princess Luna coughed again “- be able to seal,” she gave them to Trixie and she began to leaf through them, “ when you got domain in it, it’s just needed I tell you the steps to make them up, and it will be enough.”
“I can’t understand anything here,” said Trixie pointing the words in the book, “how I suppose I’ll know what this means?”
“I’ll help you, of course.”
“Well, we can start right now.”
“Alright!”
Luna beamed and so she began to teach that ancient language.
Trixie learned it in three at six months around, time they continued training. She finally got it, and Princess Luna was going to teach her how to seal.
“It’s actually very simple make seals, break them it’s hard. The only thing you’ve got to do is pronounce the words of you want to do and throwing your magic to the target. Try sealing that door.”
Trixie pronounced a phrase to make the seal and threw her magic to the door; the door was completely sealed.
“Great, I got it!” Trixie said excited, first seal, first success.
“Perfect, now, break it,” said Princess Luna.
“How do I do that?”
“Think about it.”
Trixie said a word that in our language would be ‘open’ and threw her spell but nothing happened.
“I told you it wasn’t so simple.”
“But then, how will I be able to break it?”
“It is hard to explain. When you have a lock the way to open it isn’t another lock, you need a key, so you can’t open it at the same way you did to make it, you need something different, you need a key.”
“But how? Do I need another language?” Trixie said confused.
“No, nothing of that, with this language you learned is enough.” Luna thought about it, “Well, I know it’s hard to understand, so I’ll give you a clue: the magic is the way, you can’t use the same type of magic to open the seal, you’ve got to use other type of magic.”
“Is there different magic? Can I use other type of magic?”
“Yes, remember we couldn’t defeat Discord; his magic is so strange that the seals didn’t work on him, not even to make them, he grinds them up immediately. You must use different magic and your task is finding it out.”
“Ok, I need some research. Thank you Luna, I’ll figure it out soon.”
“I’m sure you can.”
Luna let Trixie with her research. Trixie searched in some books that told about how the ponies were in that time, about scientific research.
She finally found a book called: “Alicorn Magic”, Trixie began to read and found very interesting information.
In the antiquity, when just there were alicorns; there was a conflict with some unknown magical beings, which their names never were revealed. They were quite powerful, that they created a curse that hurt almost all the alicorns.
That curse consisted in stealing a big amount of magic and strength from them, letting them with just some abilities; it was there when the earth ponies, pegasus ponies and unicorn ponies born.
Just four alicorns could avoid that curse, two of them were barely a little fillies, the another two were their parents. These two were who defeated those unknown beings, dying with them.
“I can’t believe it,” Trixie was very surprised, “Luna and Princess Celestia are the last of their kind, they’re the last natural alicorns.” She carried on reading.
The alicorn magic that was stolen couldn’t disappeared in the air, this magic gathered and made up a tree with a big power, a majestic tree that inspired security and tranquility, that tree later was called the Tree of Harmony.
“So, this is the origin of the tree, awesome!” she carried on.
When the unknown beings were defeated, the new ponies found their studies about the alicorns. They told that the alicorns were creatures extremely unstable, their magic could be used for good reasons, as for evil reasons too, it was a kind of dark magic and white magic fused. This was the reason that those beings threw their curse against the alicorns, having an almost complete success.
The original alicorn magic still remains in the new kind of ponies that born, but in a less amount. Thus that magic still can reach the dark magic that is there, deep in those new ponies.
“I think this is!” Trixie thought about this ‘new’ information - new for her. “I must use dark magic to break the seals. But, how I can make to come up the dark magic, I don’t understand.”
Trixie read but she didn’t find any more useful about dark magic. She checked out all the books she found and any of them had something important. She went upstairs of the castle, leaded to Star Swilr’s library but she had no success. While she wandered around the castle, she found a room with the name ‘Dark Magic. Keep out’, Trixie beamed knowing she found what she was searching.
She got in the room, it was night, Trixie already became completely nightly since she was saved by the Princess, so the only ponies around were the guards that already knew Trixie; they had no problem to let her in.
She rapidly found a scroll about how to come up the dark magic, she took it and left, she wasn’t interested in anymore, “Well, let’s see what it tells.”
Dark Magic: To come up the dark magic the thoughts in the mind must be about hatred, sadness, pain, ambition or any type of negative emotion, of this way the magic will change its properties and will become in dark magic.
WARNING: To be exposed by a long time at the dark magic and/or use it too many time in a row may corrupt the user, making it lose the sanity. Use it ONLY as the last resort and if you have completely control over it.
“Pfff, corrupt, I already passed by it, I know I can handle it,” said Trixie, “so, negative emotions, got it.” Trixie went back downstairs to try opening the seal that she did before. “Well, here I go, but actually, I don’t know what is that anger me to come up the dark magic.”
Trixie began to think what she can use. She reminded all the time she was wandering over Equestria, despite she had fought sometimes to survive, it wasn’t enough. Later she reminded that moment when Twilight humiliated her in front of everypony in Ponyville with that Ursa Minor, those places where the ponies teased of her and called her ‘Fake’, ‘Loser’, ‘Talentless’. Trixie felt angry and continued remembering. Finally she got it, she could came up the dark magic it was inside of her; she was desperate, reminded what she was doing and pronounced the same word she used to break the seal, and she got it.
“I did it,” she said, “I DID IT‼ I BROKE IT!” she couldn’t believe it, “I’ll tell it to Luna.”
She ran to search the Princess that didn’t take so much time to find her.
“I did it, Luna!” said Trixie excited, Luna turned to see her surprised, “I broke the seal, I DID IT!”
“YOU WHAT!” Her surprise turned into concern. “How you did it too soon, it’s just… how it’s possible you got to use dark magic. It didn’t suppose you already could make it to come up, I thought at most you could figure out it was that but… how did you know it?”
“I read one of those ancient books that are downstairs, it told about the origin of the current ponies, about how unstable are the alicorns, that you and Princess Celestia are the last natural alicorns. Later I found here in the castle a room full of books about dark magic and there I found the scroll for come it up.”
“Damn! I forgot that place at all,” Luna said very putting a hoof on her forehead, Trixie looked her confused, she thought that it would get happy the Princess, “Look Trixie, the dark magic is exactly the answer you had to find, but I didn’t think you were able to make it coming up. It is true what that book told, the alicorn magic is very unstable, you need years, so many years of practice to dominate it, and what make it unstable is right that, it is composed by dark magic and you are not able to dominate it yet. It was very careless by my part let you investigate about it because I never thought you would find it very soon, I can’t blame you by that, it’s impressing but very risky.”
“But I got to break the seal and look me, I’m alright. I know I’m able to control it.”
“Maybe you were lucky, but since now you may not use dark magic if I’m not there; it’s too dangerous for you.”
“You think I’m not able to keep myself under control?!” Trixie said bothered, she answered as she had never done it, shouting her, “I’m able to keep myself under control, look how much I’ve achieved.”
“Relax Trixie,” Luna said surprised by Trixie’s anger, “look, you had never disputed any advice I had given you and now we barely begin with this and you are angry.”
“It’s because you had never underestimated me.”
“What!, I’ve never underestimated you, I’ve always admired how you learn everything I teach you so fast,” Trixie stayed thoughtfully but still angry, Luna approached and surrounded her with her hoof, she said, “please Trixie, beware. We will practice with dark magic but listen me when I tell you we’ve got to be especially careful with it, are you agreed?”
“I am,” Trixie answered moving for Luna let her go, Luna just saw her walk away.
At the next night, Trixie was regret, she went where Luna was and said her, “Luna,” she turned to see her and beamed, “can I talk with you?”
“Of course Trixie, tell me.”
“I want to apologize by my last behavior yesterday, you were right, I was under the effects of the dark magic and I was being rude, could you apologize me?”
“Of course yes Trixie,” Luna hugged her friendly, “I know those effects aren’t so nice but I know you’ll be able to control them.”
“Thank you so much Luna, and where do you go?”
“A pony needs help, so I will help her in her dreams.”
“Oh… right…” Trixie answered disappointed.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can,” Luna beamed and left from the castle, “you’re in charge.”
“Yeah, as soon as I can. Whatever!” Trixie said herself annoyed.
The nights passed and Luna was still helping ponies, therefore she had to go out. In all of this time that Luna and Trixie have been getting along, the Princess had gone at the same way in countless occasions to help the ponies with their problems and Trixie had never felt frustration, in fact the Princess let her in charge while she was out and Trixie was right with that, she felt honored, but this time in special she felt excluded, maybe by the effect of the dark magic yet.
Each time Trixie felt alone again, despite by they carried on with the lesson she took the terrible decision of disobey the Princess and practicing with the seals by her own; the effects of dark magic were each time worse.
One night Princess Luna finally had finished her task with those ponies she was helping, they were three little fillies that finally got their cutie marks. Princess Luna could return to the training with Trixie.
“Trixie, now we already can continue with the lessons, I hope you are ready because it’ll be hard.”
Trixie had been annoyed all that time with Luna due to the dark magic, “It’s not needed, I have been practicing by my own and I’ve gotten make and break seals, I think I even dominate them.”
“WHAT!” Luna was angry by what Trixie just told her, but Trixie wasn’t surprised, “I warned you that you couldn’t use dark magic if I wasn’t with you, don’t understand it is very dangerous for you!”
“Well, maybe you are underestimating me, Luna” Trixie began with the arguments, “ I already dominating the seals and if I had waited for you all this time you were out to help those ponies I wouldn’t have this progress.”
“Please, listen me, the problem is not dominating the seals, the problem is dominating the dark magic and you have been exposed too much to it,” Luna began to up her voice, “just look, you’re angry without reason, I’d had to leave so many times and you had never been of this way so ridiculous.”
“Ridiculous!” Trixie felt offended, “well, let me tell you that you are angry too, maybe you neither know dominate it.”
“What are you telling, I’m not even using it, besides I have a hundred years using it, of course I have control on it.”
“Well, I remember that was the reason why your own sisters banished you by a thousand years, maybe she thought you weren’t able to keep under control yourself and she didn’t want to have problems with you.”
Luna remained looking at Trixie thunderstruck, those words were awful, Luna had never imagined she would hear that, and less from somepony she loved as Trixie.
“Get out here! I do not want to see you!” Luna shouted very angry.
“Me neither!”
Trixie turned around and left running. Luna remained where she was without avoiding the tears; the pain she felt by the words of Trixie was something she never saw to come.
Meanwhile Trixie leaded to her room full of rage, “What she thinks,” said to herself, “the fact her sister treated her as somepony lower doesn’t mean it is the same with me.” Trixie walked making a circle on the ground. “I’ll show her I’m able to overcome her. Though that’s impossible to me right now, if I fight with her I’ll lose, I have never been able to defeat her. I need more power, but where is the Alicorn Amulet, I know Luna went by it with that zebra but I’m sure she hid it, but where… she never told me… Wait a minute.” Suddenly Trixie reminded one of the spells she learned in the lessons with Luna. “There’s a spell to find gems,” Trixie said to herself, “That’s it! With that spell I’ll find it; fortunately it’s a pretty simple spell. Knowing Luna it must be here in Canterlot.”
Trixie used the spell and soon she detected a hundred of gems in the castle. She lasted a while exploring the castle but she didn’t find anything. She went downstairs, and nothing. When she was in the last floor, there was an anomaly in some point; her magic had no effect there, Trixie approached there.
“What happen here, why my magic doesn’t work here.”
There were scrolls, books, boxes but anything of that seemed useful, she tried to take one of those boxes with her hoof and felt a great burning.
“Auuuch!” she screamed by the pain, “What is this, why I can’t touch it, how this happens.” Trixie tried to open it with her magic but exactly there is where her magic was useless. “Wait… this isn’t common magic, this is a seal… HAA‼” Trixie shouted excited, she found what she was looking for, “Luna thought with this would be enough to anypony found it and so anypony could open it, sorry Luna, I was who found it.”
Trixie said a few words and threw her spell with dark magic to break the seal, she had success.
“Great, now let’s see what is inside” She tried to open it but the lock couldn’t be broken, she touched it and happened the same, she burned her hoof again, “Damn Luna, why you make this hardest, well, no too much for me.”
She threw her dark magic and the lock opened. Looked inside and got her target: The Alicorn Amulet!
“YES! I got it!” she exclaimed while took it and raised it, “with this I’ll be undefeatable; she won’t even be able to defeat me.” She wore it again and her magic change its violet color into a deep red. “Get ready Luna, I go for you.”
Meanwhile Luna that was in the balcony of the highest tower, sad, thinking all that happened with Trixie earlier.
Luna looked the sky and said herself, “I’ve got to do something before she is out of control, I know her words weren’t sincere at all, she is under the effect of that magic, but that didn’t feel so good.” She leaned at the edge and notices something strange in the royal garden. A pony was approaching slowly, it used a hood and when it almost arrived to the castle stopped. Luna was confused, “Who are you?” there wasn’t answer, “Do you need help? Are you lost?” the pony took off its hood at the moment Luna shuddered when she saw it was Trixie, but most important, she was using the Alicorn Amulet.
“I’m not lost, Luna, in fact I’m right where I want to be,” suddenly Trixie threw her magic to Luna with an incredible power, fortunately Luna reacted and got to fly, but part of the tower was destroyed.
“What are you doing?!!” Luna complained her, “how did you get it? It supposed anypony would be able to find it, how did you know where it was?”
“It wasn’t so hard; I knew it had to be here in Canterlot,” Trixie began to float with her magic, “I’ve got to recognize I was so lucky, I already knew how to break seals, everything thanks to you, teacher!” she said this last part teasing of her.
“Trixie, I beg you, take it off, it is very dangerous that anypony is wearing it, please, take it off and give me it.”
“Are you afraid, Luna?” Trixie approached to her and Luna by instinct got a defensive pose. “Are you afraid that with this amulet I can beat you?” Trixie was a few meters of Luna. “You know, I think all the time we fought was unfair, I mean, you are an alicorn and I am just a unicorn, well, not any unicorn, now I am the greatest and powerful Trixie!... but still was unfair… until now. You with your alicorn magic and I with the amulet I think we’re equal. I dare you, Luna! This time, I’ll make you suffer.”
“I do not want to fight, Trixie,” Luna said still ready if Trixie attacked her, “the target of your training is by defense, not by attack.”
“Well, I just give it another meaning.”
Suddenly Trixie appeared above of Luna and kicked her making her fall onto the royal garden. Luna stood up some hurt of her left flank and saw Trixie disappointed. “Trixie, I beg you!”
“Get ready… this is just the beginning.”
In that moment the royal guards arrived and saw the entire scene; Princess Luna was hurt and Trixie was her opponent, everypony was surprised.
“Let me help you, Princess,” said the captain of the royal guard helping her to keep standing up.
“No! You won’t be able to defeat her; I’ve got to fix this by my own. Get out here before she hurt you.”
“I’m sorry, Princess…” answered the captain, “but we can’t do that. It’s our royal duty as guards keep safe everypony including you, even if it’s an opponent stronger than us, we will never give up.” He turned to see her mates and made a sign to they got ready, all of them got her attack pose.
“It’ll be better to hear her, you meddling,” said Trixie crossing her hooves, “if you couldn’t defeat me in the past, what makes you think now will be different.”
The captain looked her, turned to look her mates and said, “Get Ready…” cleaned his sweat, “Attack!”
The pegasus guards flew toward Trixie, she flew making they chased her down while the unicorns and earth ponies guards stayed protecting the Princess.
“Come on!” shouted Trixie while the persecution carried on, “how it’s possible that a bunch of flyer guards can’t reach a pony that doesn’t even have wings.”
The guards made their best but they couldn’t even get close a bit to Trixie, in fact Trixie was more away each second.
“Fine, let’s do this funniest.” Trixie stopped and threw a spell to the guards, she paralyzed them at the same time they began to scream very loud, it was an indescribable pain; the spell began to disappear their wings and then they fell to the ground, fortunately the unicorn guards stopped them whit their magic.
“What did you do with our wing?!” shouted one the guards.
“Give them back‼” another one shouted too.
“Sorry,” Trixie came down softly, “I prefer to fight on the ground. Get ready!”
Trixie ran with a super speed, the guards were ready to the assault; when Trixie was a few meters she jumped up over them at the same time she made a spell to create clones of herself; being five Trixie clones.
“I’m not going to spend my time fighting with useless ponies as you” – she carried on running – “my opponent is Luna.”
The guards stayed back fighting with the clones, they were too strong than the guards, they couldn’t do anything against them.
Trixie almost came where the Princess and the guards were, the guards ran in front the Princess, Trixie shouted, “Get out of my way!” threw her magic and the guards were thrown off by the air; Trixie was at five meter of Luna, “Your mine!”
Trixie jumped up and as in slow cam tried to hit with her whole strength, her hoof was about to punch the Princess’s face when she closed her eyes and said in low voice, “I’m so sorry, Trixie.” Luna used her magic and attacked Trixie throwing her off and falling on the ground very hard.
“Aaahgg,” Trixie made sounded of pain, she tried to stand up, “I see you’re finally disposed to fight with me.”
“I do not want to fight Trixie, but if there’s no another way to stop you, I’ll do.” Luna turned to see the captain that was some meters away of the Princess due to Trixie’s attack; she extended her wings and turned to see Trixie again, the captain understood the sign and ran into the castle.
“Well,” said Trixie ready to fight, “then… come for me!”
Luna flew toward her very fast; Trixie threw her magic and the Princess dodged all of her attacks, reached Trixie and tried to hit her; Trixie blocked with her hoof, Luna carried on hitting her making her move back but Trixie blocked all her hits at the beginning with some problems but each second passed she got used more at Luna’s speed; Luna noticed that, she stopped and moved back too.
Trixie gasped and Luna, a little worried tried to figure out how to submit her; this time Trixie went to attack the Princess exchanging hits, Trixie got some of them equal than the Princess.
In one of those attacks, Trixie’s hit was blocked by the right wing of the Princess, she took advantage of that due to she had opened Trixie’s defense, Luna kicked her on her stomach that suffocated her; Luna punched again in the body and finally a super strong punch with her hoof right in the face making Trixie fall and creep onto the ground.
“I’ve got to take you off the amulet,” said Luna approaching her, “if you don’t want to take it off, I’ll rip it off from you,” Luna extended her wings and flew above Trixie charging her horn ready to throw her magic, “this is over now…” when she was going to throw her spell Luna was paralyzed, “What… is… going on.”
The Trixie clones, that left the guards completely defeated, were throwing their magic to contain the Princess, she forgot them at all.
“This happens when you are careless,” Trixie stood up and walked, “remember that first time we fight, that day you were careless, but that time you got set you free with easiness of my spell; well, this time they’re not roots what are holding you, this time they’re so much stronger,” Trixie floated with her magic approaching to Luna, she began to sweat and looked her fixedly, “you are over…”
Trixie beamed and without mercy began to hit the Princess brutally on all her body with super speed and an incredible strength. Luna couldn’t do anything to avoid it and Trixie carried on with more euphoria.
She let to hit her by a little while and Luna was already bleeding out of several parts of her body, “It seemed that finally the student overcame the teacher,” said Trixie surrounding her with her hoof, Luna gasping couldn’t say any word, she barely could breathe, “Thanks to teach me how to defeat you, teacher.”
Trixie kicked her on Luna’s stomach and she spat blood out; when Luna was going to faint the Trixie clones made an electric shock to wake her up, Luna cried out in pain.
“I won’t let you sleep when I destroy you,” said Trixie while she took and lifted her head to look her at her eyes, “you’ve got to be awake,” Trixie float away and began to charge her horn with quite amount of magic, she was ready to throw it, “DIEE!” Trixie shouted and at the same time got an impact of energy from somewhere that threw her off by the air and fell at the ground.
A majestic white pony came at the scene, “I won’t let you hurt my sister anymore!”
Celestia came and turned to see Trixie clones; they let Luna go and went to attack to Celestia that was ready to use her magic; with just one attack of magic she got to grind them up.
Celestia approached to Luna that was almost fainted and very hurt, “Oh my sister,” said Celestia with pity seeing the condition of Luna, “but what happened with her, you were very united.”
Suddenly Trixie appeared in front the Princess Celestia with rage; Trixie punched Celestia in the face and she moved back.
“Why you’ve got to meddle, you don’t understand this fight is between her and me!”
Trixie went to attack Celestia that had an awesome strength blocking all Trixie’s hits; she was surprised and angry to realize she was overcome in speed and strength.
Trixie shouted very loud and attacked Celestia again with rage, but Celestia got to punch her in the stomach, she made Trixie kneel down.
“I said –“ Celestia extended her wings “– I won’t let you hurt my sister anymore!” Celestia threw her magic and impacted Trixie directly; she fell on the ground again.
Trixie with quite pain and rage stood up, saw Celestia right in front of her ready to punch her again in the face, but Trixie reacted and threw a shining directly in her eyes blinding to Celestia, despite that Trixie got the punch.
“I said you Princess, this fight is between Luna and me,” said Trixie standing up, “I’ve got to get you out of my way, I’ve got to destroy you first.”
Trixie charged her horn and threw a spell to Celestia that couldn’t do anything being blinded. The spell impacted her making a cloud of dust, with it was dissipated Celestia showed as a stone.
“Well… I have no to be worried for her… by now.”
Trixie turned to see Luna; she was still lied down in the ground, Trixie walked toward her, in that moment came another pony to help Luna, she put herself in front of Luna. It was Twilight which was called by the Princess Celestia, she knew it was serious and they’d need all the possible help.
Twilight was very concerned when she saw how Luna was, “Trixie!” Twilight shouted, “you’ve got to stop, I know there may be problems between you two but this isn’t the way to solve them.”
“Look who it’s here,” Trixie stopped, “another meddling. You saved me the bother to looking for you to take vengeance, but really Twilight; you think you’ll be able to defeat me if I just defeat the two princesses most important and powerful of Equestria, “Trixie pointed the statue of Celestia.
“NO! Princess Celestia!” Twilight screamed and began to cry, “you are a monster Trixie!”
“Oh please, I am just very powerful”
Twilight between tears began to feel hatred toward Trixie, “I will never forgive you!”
Twilight ran as fast as she could and threw her magic that Trixie dodged without any effort, Twilight carried on throwing attacks and Trixie avoiding them with a huge easiness.
“Please Twilight,” said Trixie seeing how Twilight gasped a bit, “You think you can get something with those poor attacks?” Trixie ran toward her and punched her in the face very hard, Twilight fell on the ground but she stood up quickly, “I don’t want to carry on with this silly games, Twilight,” said Trixie with a severe tone, “I have overcome you by much that you don’t mean any kind of challenge to me.”
Trixie threw her magic that Twilight barely could avoid and flew at the opposite direction of Trixie.
“Where do you think you go?” Trixie ran to chase her.
Trixie that had a speed faster than Twilight not even flying could equalize, she reached her by land ready to attack her.
“Now Princess!” Twilight shouted and the Princess Luna threw a spell to stop Trixie.
Luna barely could hold the spell due to the great energy that the amulet gave to Trixie and it was increasing each second, plus she still was harmed.
Luna got to come until Trixie, “Trixie…” said Luna gasping, “you have been a very special pony to me, you made the loneliness disappeared from my life,” she said this words between tears, “I love you as a sister and though I know this isn’t the real you, that you are under the dark magic, I feel really bad we are so right now,” Trixie looked her making quite effort to let herself free, “I never imagined I would have to use this again and less against somepony like you, somepony I love so much. But you don’t let me another way and I’ve got to stop you.” Luna turned to see Twilight that was above of them. “Twilight!” Luna called her, “You’ll have to be very strong to stop her, please resist, it just takes a few seconds.”
Twilight nodded and threw her magic to hold Trixie. Luna let to make her spell, sighed and began to come up a blue aura around her.
In the environment felt a shudder and Luna was completely involved in this aura. Twilight was looking her begging she hurried because she couldn’t remain Trixie’s power anymore.
Finally, from that blue aura came up a completely different pony at Luna; made her reappearance Nightmare Moon!
Twilight let to make the spell, she couldn’t hold Trixie anymore, and fell fainted. Trixie was free and gasped a little. The final match would be defined: Trixie vs Nightmare Moon.
“Seems you want to finish this as soon as you can,” said Trixie still gasping, “it won’t be as easy as you think.”
“You don’t know my real power, Trixie,” said Nightmare moon walking to Trixie and she did the same, “when I am in this transformation I am even stronger than my sister.”
“You mean the one I already defeated,” Trixie teased of that.
“It can be fixed, now the most important is taking you the amulet off.”
“Well, good luck, Nightmare Moon!”
Trixie flew using her magic at super speed but she was very surprised when saw Nightmare Moon right in front of her. She stopped and flew at the opposite direction getting the same result.
“Is this your plan?” asked Nightmare Moon, “You’re just going to run off?”
“I’m not running off!” said Trixie with rage.
Trixie was angry and went to attack to Nightmare Moon that didn’t even use her hooves to avoid the hits of Trixie with relative easiness; Trixie stopped by two seconds and resumed her attack making three new clones.
This time Nightmare Moon used her hooves to avoid the hits, she kicked super hard one of those Trixies, without knowing if it were a clone or not; that Trixie fell at the ground and disappeared, it was a clone and if it were the real Trixie she would be unconscious.
The three another Trixies moved back with a scare look due to the very powerful attack of Nightmare Moon. They threw their magic to Nightmare Moon that made a magic shield and blocked those attacks.
Nightmare Moon’s power in battle seemed unreachable not even to somepony with the amulet, but something that Trixie always had since the very beginning of her training with Luna was pretty good strategies to submit her, though in that occasion she fought the strongest version of Luna.
Nightmare Moon attacked one of those Trixies, the attack was very fast that almost got to reach her but one clone put itself in front of her and got the impact disappearing.
Trixie was worried, she moved back with the other clone, Nightmare Moon approached slowly to her.
Trixie was thinking what to do while she was moving back when she crashed with something, or rather with somepony. She turned around and saw what that was. Trixie began to feel scared and her heart throbbed very fast; she crashed with another Nightmare Moon.
“Do you remember who taught you that spell,” said the Nightmare Moon clone, she attacked Trixie clone grinding it up, “if you don’t stop by your own decision this will end really bad.”
Trixie threw her magic to Nightmare Moon clone that just moving aside got to avoid it. The real Nightmare Moon came and surrounded Trixie, she turned to see both.
Being almost trapped Trixie used her magic to teleport herself on the ground and ran while the Nightmare Moons flew toward her. Trixie made other two clones that didn’t last more than five seconds before Nightmare Moon destroyed them and followed back Trixie.
Finally Trixie came where the statue of Celestia was and charge her horn pointing it. “If you approach to me I’ll destroy her,” said Trixie gasping, “I’ll make her dust for be impossible to recover her.”
Both Nightmare Moons stopped. One of those Nightmare Moons began to use her magic, Trixie noticed that.
“Don’t dare to do anything because I’ll destroy her” said Trixie, Nightmare Moon stopped worried, “my condition is fight one to one, without clones. Disappear you clone and I won’t destroy Princess Celestia.”
Nightmare Moon was doubtful what to do, but finally accepted, “Alright,” Nightmare Moon’s clone disappeared, “now, stay away of my sister.”
“Poor of you Nightmare Moon, despite you have that awesome transformation you are as careless as Luna is.”
Nightmare Moon turned around and was impacted by dozens of Trixie clones. Nightmare Moon had a super great speed and strength, but it wasn’t enough against too many Trixies, she couldn’t see any of their attacks. She fell at the ground and the Trixie clones that are around thirty surrounded her.
They moved aside to let the real Trixie pass. Trixie wasn’t pointing Princess Celestia ready to destroyed her, she was making a lot of clones to attack Nightmare Moon, it seemed that Trixie was a genius in battle, though some disloyal.
“I see you still underestimate me,” said Trixie stopping in front of Nightmare Moon that got to stand up. “you was agreed to fight one to one against me, really you think it won’t be problem to you defeating me right! Really you think you are more than me!” Trixie threw her magic and Nightmare Moon blocked it with magic.
“I never saw you as lower Trixie,” said Nightmare Moon, “you won’t understand it while you wear the amulet and you are under the dark magic. I just want that my friend get back and let to be a deranged.” Nightmare Moon threw her magic and Trixie blocked it giving back the attack which Nightmare Moon dodged and the attack impacted a bunch of Trixies that disappeared.
Trixie was angry by that and ordered all the clones attacked Nightmare Moon, she flew and the clones chased her.
Nightmare Moon was too up in the sky and stopped to fall reaching a speed more and more fast; she got to break the sound barrier making an explosion that destroyed the clones, a kind of Sonic Rainboom without the rainbow, just letting a blue track.
She landed in front of Trixie that was impressed by that movement. Nightmare Moon attacked Trixie exchanging hits; Trixie’s power was increased according the fight went on, though Trixie still was weakest than Nightmare Moon, she wouldn’t give up.
Nightmare Moon punched Trixie’s face that made Trixie move back but immediately she attacked Nightmare Moon.
Trixie hit Nightmare Moon, she blocked it; Nightmare Moon hit Trixie and she dodged her kicking her hooves getting she fell, with this short moment of distraction Trixie kicked in the body to Nightmare Moon so many times, later a hit in the face and another one in the body again for Nightmare Moon finally fell at the ground completely.
Despite Trixie had been fighting by a long time against Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon, Princess Celestia, Twilight and the royal guards almost at the same time, she wasn’t too tired and she could still remain fighting, that amulet really was very strong.
Trixie saw how Nightmare Moon stood up a bit tired and went to attack Trixie again.
Nightmare Moon punched her in the face; Trixie moved back but the hurt was less than before, the amulet made her more resistant. Nightmare Moon threw her magic and Trixie did the same. The attacks crashed and Nightmare Moon was winning, Trixie knew she was losing and cried too loud in rage; surprisingly her magic was increased equalizing the attack.
The attacks were equal and any of them gave up. Nightmare Moon increased her attack that finally got to impact Trixie making her fall. Nightmare Moon gasping turned into a blue smoke, she leaded to Trixie’s head, she got in her head. Trixie was surprised but immediately laughed and the smoke was thrown off out Trixie’s head. Nightmare Moon fell on the ground.
“I knew you would try to get in my mind,” said Trixie standing up, “just one seal was enough to avoid it.”
“Nightmare Moon, that saw her plans failed, stood up and said, “If that is a seal I will be able to break it,” she pronounce a words in that language and threw her magic.
Trixie dodged it and ran. “You’ve got to catch me first.”
Trixie used her magic and flew as fast as she could. Nightmare Moon was chasing her down but this time Trixie was faster, it was hardest reaching her. The amulet was still giving her power.
They was flying over Canterlot, despite the great battle there weren’t anypony outside, though some of them was looking through their windows with a lot of scare; just the royal guards was outside keeping safe the streets.
Nightmare Moon threw her magic to Trixie, she dodged it. The persecution carried on and Trixie was flying away of Nightmare Moon.
Sudden Trixie was covered by magic from two different directions; they were Twilight and Princess Celestia which was turned back by Twilight.
They got stop Trixie that was trying set herself free. They landed being outside Canterlot. Nightmare Moon came with the two princesses.
Celestia looked her with scare, she hadn’t seen her sister so since more than a thousand year ago, and the last time she’d seen her, she was her opponent finishing banished.
Nightmare Moon turned to see Celestia still with the same expression and beamed, and then Twilight began to talk, “Princess Luna… I mean, Nightmare Moon, please get hurry; it’s pretty hard holding her.”
“Really are you Luna?” finally Celestia said something, “do you fell ok?”
“Relax… my sister,” said Nightmare Moon, “everything is ok, don’t worry.”
Celestia beamed relieved; Nightmare Moon pronounced the words and threw her spell getting to break the seal of Trixie and immediately turned into a blue smoke and got in Trixie’s mind.
Trixie’s mind was a very strange place; it was completely dark, maybe due to the amulet. Nightmare Moon was looking for Trixie walked straight without stop, she almost couldn’t see anything, not even using her magic she could see more than a meter ahead of her, it was a very thick darkness.
She heard a sound at her left and soon she got a defensive pose. “Who is there? Show yourself!”
The sound that seemed a kind of cry was closer each time.
“Show yourself!” Nightmare Moon ran, sudden the environment was illuminated and she got to see at Trixie hurt lying down in the ground; the environment seemed to be completely empty.
“Behind you!” the Trixie that was lied down warned her and Nightmare Moon turned to see, in front of her was another Trixie that seemed a demon, she punched very hard to Nightmare Moon in the face making her move back where Trixie was.
“What is that?!” Nightmare Moon asked worried.
“She appeared when I began to use the dark magic -” Trixie answered trying to stand up, Nightmare Moon helped her out, “- she was a shadow but each time she turned more thick and now it’s that. I can’t fight with her, if I attack her it hurts me too, seems that hurts her too but she heals at the instant. Maybe the amulet made her stronger.”
“It must be that,” Nightmare Moon answered while she got a defensive pose when she saw Demon Trixie approaching.
“Please Luna,” Trixie said her, “defeat her, I can’t deal with it anymore, I beg you.”
“I can’t attack her, I do you’ll be hurt.”
Demon Trixie went to attack Nightmare Moon exchanging hits, she got to punch Nightmare Moon and later she did the same and Demon Trixie fell in the ground. The real Trixie cried out in pain.
“You see…” said Nightmare Moon worried, “if I attacked her you’ll be hurt too. There must be another way to do it, why don’t you try to take off the amulet.”
“I can’t, seems that now we share our will, if I want to do something she must want too, and she doesn’t want to”
Demon Trixie threw her magic that Nightmare Moon blocked, but when she saw her again she was in front of her, Demon Trixie kicked Nightmare Moon making her fall; Nightmare Moon soon stood up and flew out of her reach by a little while.
“You think you’ll escape of me flying,” said Demon Trixie while she made effort and got to come up a pair of wings, “Now, we’re equal.”
Demon Trixie took off and reach Nightmare Moon in the air having a battle that Demon Trixie was wining due to Nightmare Moon didn’t try to hit her.
“Luna!” Trixie shouted while she watched the battle.
“What happens,” Nightmare Moon answered flying to run off.
“Princess Celestia and Twilight are about to lose the control of me, you must to stop that Trixie right away.”
“No! Don’t understand I can’t attacked her!” answered while landed and took off again always with Demon Trixie back her.
“I know, but if you don’t stop her right away I doubt there’ll be another chance to do it, I don’t think there’ll be another being able to do it. I will be completely out of control if you don’t stop her right away!”
“You wouldn’t dare to do that,” said Demon Trixie stopping, Nightmare Moon and Trixie were very surprised. Demon Trixie landed and continued, “if you destroy me you – “she pointed to Trixie “ – you will die too. Everypony that wore this amulet died, you had been the only one with luck that got survive thanks those ponies tricked you to take it off. But if you destroy me you’ll go with me, everypony has finished so.”
“You see…” said Nightmare Moon and landed aside Trixie, “I won’t destroy her because you’ll die too.”
Trixie was thoughtfully, there wasn’t so many time to choose, so, she decided what to do. She whispered and finally said, “It doesn’t matter… if it’s the only way to stop me… you must do it.”
“No! Please, understand that there must be another way.”
“If there is or not, there’s no more time to lose, Princess Celestia and Twilight are about to lose the control. Do it now or we’ll really be regret to lose this chance.”
“No Trixie!” Nightmare Moon as had never seen, she began to beg, “I don’t want to miss you, you are so special to me and I can’t let you die.”
“It must be so, Luna, “Trixie answered resigned, “I love you too. This is my way to protect everypony but especially to you, if this carries on I’ll be out of control and in any time I’ll get to kill you. Please Luna, finish me now.”
“Are you completely sure?” Nightmare Moon was very doubtful.
“I am…” Trixie answered calmly, “now, destroy her.”
“Fine…” Nightmare Moon hugged Trixie leaving out some tears, she put in front of Demon Trixie and said, “I’ll do.”
“I don’t think you do it,” said Demon Trixie teasing, “I doubt you agree to lose your very best friend in your life.”
Nightmare Moon closed her eyes and flew with super speed toward Demon Trixie, she was very surprised. Nightmare Moon punched very hard in her face and Demon Trixie fell; Nightmare Moon turned to see Trixie was lying down too and with an expression of guilt turned to see Demon Trixie.
Nightmare Moon hit Demon Trixie on all her body; she couldn’t do anything to avoid the hits. Nightmare Moon hit her stomach and later a kick on her hooves making her fall again, on the ground Nightmare Moon put her hoof on Demon Trixie’s neck.
“Here all is over…” said Nightmare Moon charging her horn with magic.
“YOU WOULDN’T DARE!” shouted Demon Trixie.
Nightmare Moon closed her eyes, the tears were leaving out and she threw her magic to grind up Demon Trixie while she cried out in pain.
When Nightmare Moon finished soon turned to see Trixie that was lying down in the ground, she appeared right there and noticed she still breathed.
“You’re still alive!” Nightmare Moon beamed with happiness, “pleases, resist, we’ll save you.”
“Luna…” Trixie got said almost without breath, “I’m… gonna die.”
“Don’t tell that please,” Nightmare Moon charged her horn and threw her magic to Trixie trying to give her energy, it was useless. “Please Trixie, don’t die!” Nightmare Moon leaned on Trixie’s body, crying.
“I wouldn’t want this was so,” Trixie barely said, “but it was the only way. Sorry Luna, by disobey you, by say those awful words and especially by hurt you,” Nightmare Moon looked her with impotency, “you are the best friend I ever had,” Trixie continued after to cough, “equal than you, the loneliness disappeared of my life. Thanks by all this time we were together, it was like having a family again. Luna, never forgive me,” Trixie was about to say her last words, “I love you…”
Nightmare Moon looked how she closed her eyes, heard her heart let to throb, it had stopped. Suddenly Nightmare Moon was extracted from Trixie’s mind and fell on the ground where she saw Princess Celestia and Twilight in front of her.
She stood up and turned back to normally; ran to take Trixie’s body lying down in the ground, dead.
Luna cried the loss of her very best friend in her life, the loss of the only pony that could understand her and accompanied her with her pain.
“I’m so sorry my sister,” said Celestia approaching, “it’s pitiful what just happened.”
“Princess Luna! It can’t be possible,” said Twilight without avoid containing the tears, “What happened to finish so?”
Luna was still crying that she didn’t answer Twilight’s question, she didn’t even hear anything. Celestia made a sign to let her alone.
“Why it had to be so, Trixie,” Luna said to her body, “you didn’t have to die…” Luna continued crying some hours where Trixie’s body was. Finally she stood up and carried it to the Canterlot castle.
At the next day, after that battle so long against Trixie, Celestia, Luna, Twilight and the rest of the Mane 6 with Spike were gathered in front of a stone with the name ‘Trixie Lulamoon’ on it. Nopony said any word seeing how Luna was in front with a lost look.
“Come with me,” said Celestia to the ponies and Spike by they followed her, “it’s better let her alone with her thoughts, there’ll be time to be with her.”
Everypony followed Princess Celestia and Luna stayed in front of the stone with tears. She remained there a long time, all that time without say any word, only remembering all the time they were together, with her training, the lessons, or simply getting along as friends; nothing of that will come back again.
Finally she talked, “Sorry… I know I will never see you again and I know you can’t hear me but I want to tell that you will be here, in my heart,” Luna’s looked showed pain, too much pain, “I didn’t realized you needed me, there were more ponies that needed me but I was careless with you, I knew that magic was very dangerous and I went to help other ponies instead, I had to help you before than anypony, in that moment you needed more help than anypony, and if you didn’t get it you would end very bad… and it was so. I will never forgive myself, I let you aside, and despite I wasn’t my intention I feel all the guilt is mine. You will always be a part very important of my life, perhaps the most… I will never forgive you… my very best and most loved friend.
