Rainbow spotted Rarity running down the trail heading to the apple farm.

“Looks like the jig is up, or is it?” Rainbow said, looking down from a cloud and rubbed her chin thinking.

She stood up with a smirk and flapped her wings taking off in a rainbow streak. Quickly she started pushing clumps of clouds together, the more clouds she was able put together the darker they became. Snow started to fall and then quickly intensified into a blizzard. Rarity noticed the snow falling and slowed down as the winds started to intensify.

“What is going on?” She squinted her eyes, trying to move forward as the snow started to accumulate.

Rainbow looked down once more and then zipped away, heading to the farm at high speed.

“It’s snowing!” Sweetie Belle squealed with delight dancing.

“Let’s make snow ponies.” Apple Bloom suggested.

They both ran into the field as the snow started to come down hard.

"Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Richard sang out in a deep voice as he pushed the curtain aside to look outside.

“Snow that’s strange,” Applejack said, pushing her nose against the glass next to him.

“It’s perfectly normal from where I come from,” Richard said moving back.

“Around these parts weather works on a schedule,” She walked to a calendar written in equestrian.

Richard couldn’t read the words, but he did recognize the icons indicating snow, rain, wind, cloudy and sunny.

“Just as ah suspected, snow is not until tomorrow,” Applejack pointed at a box with her right front hoof.

Suddenly there was a knock at the front door, Big Mac walked opened it and looked down to see Rainbow who sounded out of breath.

“Is Applejack home?” She asked him.

“Eeyup,” He said in a deep voice and moved aside.

“Hey there Rainbow, do ya happen to know why it’s snowing?” Applejack asked her.

“I spotted Rarity heading this way, so I kind of slowed her down,” Rainbow answer her and looked inside. “Richard you can stay at my place," She said in a loud voice.

“Moving again,” Richard grumbled and slipped on his coat. “This better be the last time,” He said, heading to the door.

Richard waved to Applejack and heading out following Rainbow into the snow.

Not longer after that, the clouds started to separate and dissipate, then the sun started to poke through revealing a winter wonderland. There were two round lumps of snow that kind of looked like a snow pony. Two blue eyes opened up looking and then Rarity shook the snow off her fur. Her purple mane and tail had flakes of snow and ice stuck, she stood up to brush them.

“I’m s, su, sure, Rai, Rainbow had something to do with this,” She shivered looking up trying to spot her friend.

Richard tried to keep up with the flying pony, but the snow and mud were slowing him down.

“Come on, slowpoke,” Rainbow teased flying ahead of him.

“Hey, I only got two legs and no wings,” Richard said breathing hard.

“Exactly, now how am I going to get you to my house?” She said flying upside down rubbing her chin.

“Where is your home?” He asked her.

“Good question,” She said and rubbed her chin some more. “Now where did I put it?,” She asked herself.

Richard rubbed his hands together to warm them and watch Rainbow zipping around until she spotted it.

“It’s up there,” Rainbow pointed with her right front hoof.

“That’s a cloud,” Richard said, stating the obvious as he looked up.

“No, it’s my Cloud House,” She correct him.

“Your house is in a cloud?” He answered, still not convinced.

“More like on it,” Rainbow said, looking at him.

“Unless you got a very tall ladder or a hot balloon there is no way I can get up there,” Richard said crossing his arms.

“I don’t but, Cherry Berry does,” She grinned.

“Your joking right?” Richard said, raising his left eyebrow.

There was a knock at the door again and this time Applejack open it. Rarity looked cold, shivering and with a serious look on her face.

“Rarity! Oh mah what happened to ya?” Applejack asked, but already had an idea.

“Ss, snow, so much,” Rarity was having a hard time speaking.

“Quickly, get in here and warm up,” Applejack insisted. “Granny can ya make some hot tea and Big Mac stoke the fire,” She said in a loud voice as Rarity walked in.

A few minutes later the fireplace was crackling giving off lots of heat. Rarity was sitting down near the fire, sipping on some hot tea that floated in front of her. Her fur was quickly drying, giving off some steam as the moisture evaporated.

“How yer feeling now?” Applejack asked her.

“Much better, thank you,” She said looking around the living room.

Applejack sat quietly sipping on a cup of tea trying to think of something to talk about.

“So did ya get to decorate...” She started asking but was interrupted.

“Where is Richard?” Rarity asked and sipped more of her tea.

“Umm as ya can see there is no one here by the name Richard,” Applejack started sweating.

“Applejack was Richard here?” She asked her.

“Ah can’t say,” Applejack’s cutie mark started glowing as she tried to fight it.

Rarity knew that Applejack’s element was honesty and that she could not lie.

“Yer talking about that strange looking pony, aren’t ya?” Granny Smith spoke up from her rocking chair.

“Granny!” Applejack said falling back.

“Applejack,” Rarity stood up and looked down at her.

“Twilight wanted to surprise ya for Hearth's Warming and ah was helping,” She covered her face feeling ashamed.

Rarity’s seriousness faded to a smile and she helped her friend up and hugged.

“So yer not mad?” Applejack said checking just to be sure.

“No, I understand,” She said with a smile and then asked, ”So now, are you going to tell me where he is?”

“Pull this to go up and this one to go down,” Cherry Berry pointed to two levers attached to a box on the side of the basket.

“How does this work without gas?” Richard said, scratching his head.

“Magic,” She said and untied the basket. “Please Rainbow, make sure you bring it back,” Cherry Berry said looking serious.

“I know, I know,” She saluted her. “Come on, let's get going Richard,” Rainbow said, sounding impatiently on the ground.

“Fine,” He sighed and reached for the up lever.

“Richard!” Rarity’s voice yelled out from a distance.

“Rarity?” Richard turned around and saw a small white unicorn with big blue eyes and a purple mane running towards him.

“Aww there goes the surprise,” Rainbow said, shaking her head in a facepalm.

Rarity ran into town heading to the balloon, just as she got close she jumped in the air and landed in the basket. Richard stumbled back, bumping a lever, the purple balloon rose up, lifting the pink basket off the ground.

“You're here!, You're really here, Oh, I missed you so much!” She said breathing hard and stood up holding him in a hug rubbing her face against his.

“Is it Hearth's Warming day already?” He said, caressing her muzzle.

Richard could feel her warm tears and reached around stroking his fingers in her purple mane, before reaching around to hold her close.

“I just couldn’t wait to open my present,” Rarity said, fluttering her eyes and puckered her lips.

He bent down and opened his mouth and kissed her passionately.

“Get a room you two,” Rainbow said covering her eyes as she flapped her wings near the basket.

Rarity and Richard pulled away to breath then looked at Rainbow with a frown.

“Don’t mind me, I was just going,” She said and flew away.

Richard looked down at Ponyville as the snow covered buildings got smaller the higher they went.

“Nice view from up here,” Richard commented.

“So Richard just how did you get here?” Rarity asked him, resting her head against his chest.

“I don’t understand all the details, but a week after you left Twilight was able to open a portal again and grabbed me in the middle of the night,” He said which made Rarity look up at him.

“A week?, no, no, it’s been about two months since I left,” She tried to explain.

“Wow, so time does move faster here than in my world,” Richard looked at his watch.

The sun started to set over Equestria creating a golden, red and yellow glow in the sky.

“Richard do you want to come to my house?” Rarity asked him.

“Fine,” Richard said with a grin and pushed down the lever.

“The first thing I need you do is get out of those clothes,” She said poking at his jacket.

“What!?” He said, feeling his cheeks turning red and it was not the cold this time.

“My man should be wearing something more dapper looking,” Rarity said with a smile sounding more like herself.

“Aah.. ohh is that all?” Richard said, sounding relieved.

“Were you expecting something else hmm?” She said trying to look clueless, but a smirk crept along her face.

The basket landed with a thump not far from the where it launched.
