Chapters "Alright class, in honor of parents day we are going to write an essay about our parents!" Miss Cherilee announced to her class of fillies and colts, all that was heard in the room was the groans of laziness because none of them wanted to spend the weekend doing homework.
"Miss Cherilee what if we don't know much about our parents?" Asked Apple Bloom, hoping to get out of doing any homework.
"Then you can ask either your older siblings or talk to some friends about the subject" She stated, she knew exactly what else Apple Bloom had in mind.
Dinky had other things in mind; did she want to talk about her real dad or The Doctor? Dinky never really knew her real dad, once he found out Derpy was pregnant with their second child he packed up and left in the middle of the night. Amethyst Star had just turned six when their dad left, so if Dinky did the paper about him and Derpy before the separation she could ask Amethyst, she just might not remember most of it. The Doctor however had been there for most of Dinky's childhood and was very close to her mom then her real dad was, suddenly Dinky's thoughts were interrupted.
"Class dismissed everyone! Have a great weekend" Cherilee smiled as she started to clean the chalk board, Dinky didn't move from her seat, she had a question on her mind.
"Dinky do you need something? If you’re waiting for Amethyst to pick you up you can wait outside for her"
"I am waiting for Sparkler, I just have a question about the essay" She said as she moved toward her teacher’s desk, Cherilee nodded as she listened. "My real dad left before I was born so I don't know him very well, I'm afraid to ask mommy about it, but Doctor has been there for mommy and me since the beginning and he feels more like my dad. Who should I write about?"
"Well sweetie, normally I would say write about your biological parents. Since you have this special connection to Doctor and he has more of a father then your birth father, then you should write this about him. I'm sure Derpy won't mind you asking and I'm pretty sure Doctor will be honored to have you write about him" Cherilee said as she gave a warm smile to the filly.
"Thank you Cherilee" Dinky said as she happily trotted outside the school house as she greeted her big sister on the way out.
"Well squirt got any good news for Old Sparkler?" Amethyst asked her sister. Sparkler was the nickname Dinky gave her when she was learning to talk, and the name stuck ever since for her.
"Well, I have to write a paper about our parents for homework, I was thinking about doing it about mommy and Doctor though" Dinky said to her as she gave her a paper with the assignment details on it. Amethyst had a sad look in her eyes, she realized Dinky knew nothing about her dad and always considered The Doctor as her father, she decided she had to do something; she had to tell Dinky about their dad.
"Well that is a good idea, but I think it's time you knew about dad. Mom said it was okay if I told you instead of her" she said as they sat on the front porch of their house, she took a deep breath and begun. "Dads name was Ponet; he had a light purple coat like yours, had golden colored hair like yours and had emerald green eyes. He was a unicorn who met mom in Canterlot where he lived"
"Where does he live now?" Dinky interrupted
"I think he went to Las Pegasus. Anyway he was a bit uptight and fancy, but I guess it was just that Canterlot personality, He fell in love with mom at first sight at an old bakery she used to work at and kept coming everyday just to see her. Dad asked mom out a couple months later and a few months after that mom got pregnant with me, dad was going to propose to her but he claims he never got the perfect opportunity, so mom moved from Cloudsdale to Canterlot so she could be with him. Soon after I was born things started to go downhill from then on, dad got fired from his job and mom could barely support a husband and newborn with her income, so finances and caring for me got too stressful and caused them to argue and fight a lot. When I was four dad finally got a well-paying job and mom got a second job just to help pay the rent of the old apartment, so for a year and a half later things were going pretty well and I was going to have my sixth birthday in a month, that's when dad proposed to mom and she accepted."
"So dad proposed to mom before he left?" Dinky questioned before the story was finished.
"Yes but let me continue, the next month was supposed to be when they got married the week before my birthday. Mom hadn't been feeling so well for a month now and she found out why, so on my birthday she announced that she was pregnant with you, I was so excited to have a sibling to play with. Dad on the other hand wasn't so happy, that night after I went to bed I heard them arguing again, I heard the bedroom door slam shut and hooves go out the front door that was slammed shut. I walked out of my room and saw mom lying on her bed crying because dad left, and he wasn't going to come back." Amethyst finished the story with a couple tears threatening to fall; Dinky looked just as sad and decided that the essay was not going to be about Ponet, he wasn't a good father leaving his bride to be and children at an early age.
"Girls come inside and eat dinner, I made veggie burgers and hay fries!" Derpy exclaimed happily through the kitchen window, the smell of Derpy's cooking was always heavenly. Amethyst went over and hugged her mom and told her that Dinky now knew the truth. "Dinky I'm glad you know the truth now, I'm sorry that you have to write this essay now" Derpy sat at the table sadly; she never wanted her daughter to relive the nightmare by having to tell it in front of the class.
"That’s fine mom, I don't want to do the essay on dad, I want to do it on you and Doctor!" Dinky exclaimed cheerful which made Derpy smile, she hadn't seen The Doctor in months but that’s because he was always traveling, she was just happy to know that he was there whenever she needed him.
"That’s great sweetie, I can tell you that story later tonight, now eat your dinner girls!" she exclaimed, she was happy to tell the story of her and The Doctor, she just really missed him sometimes.

Yay another story guys! This time it's centered around one of the awesome ship of Derpy and The Doctor, I hope everyone likes this. So I made Ponet the real father of Sparkler and Dinky because he looked like them in many ways, so I thought it would fit.
Derpy kissed her oldest daughter Amethyst Star goodnight and trotted downstairs to see her youngest Dinky. She was going to tell the story of how she met The Doctor and how he had been with her since that day.
"Why doesn't Sparkler want to hear the story?" Dinky asked as she sat down on the soft couch.
"She has an advanced magic class very early in the morning so she wanted to go to bed early" She explained as she got comfortable next to her daughter and began to tell the tale. "The long nine months I was pregnant with you was difficult without Ponet, on my ninth month in November you were due any day now and I was scared. Ponet was there for me when I had your sister, but I was going to be alone when I had you, one night I was feeling pretty sad so I took a walk in the Everfree forest. It was dark and scary but also calming at night. I started hearing movement in the trees and was feeling scared, being nine months pregnant it was hard to walk let alone run, so I was beginning walk back to Ponyville where I moved us after your dad left. I felt a sharp pain in my belly and couldn't walk anymore, I had gone into labor and there was nobody around to help me! Then a manticore heard my screams and shouts of pain and it found me lying helpless on the ground, I was so scared I just closed my eyes hoping this was all a dream but it wasn't. Right as I shouted one last time for help a blue box magically appeared behind the manticore scaring it away, then The Doctor stepped out and found me lying on the ground in pain and quickly rushed me to the hospital. He spent the entire night with me to make sure I was safe, I gave birth to you that night and I couldn't be happier" Derpy finished the story.
"And since that day he has helped take care of me!" Dinky exclaimed
"That's right, he has to leave sometimes for a while but I know that he will always be there for us when we need him" she said as she brought Dinky upstairs to bed and kissed her goodnight and decided she was going to sit on the porch outside for a little bit.
Sitting out on the front porch of her house Derpy had only told that story to Amethyst when she asked when she was. Telling that story reminded her of The Doctor, his chocolate brown mane, his interesting stories and cheerful sense of humor. She blushed a little as she thought more of him, she had developed a small crush on him a while ago, and he had been by her side for eight years now and never left with the exception of his travels. He was a time lord who traveled all of time and space with his TARDIS, he took Derpy on it a couple times so she could see the true beauty of the universe, she loved it as much as she loved him. Snapping out of her thoughts she looked up to the night sky and saw many stars, she missed him so much and wondered if he was okay since she hadn't seen him for almost a year.
"Come back to me Doctor..." She said with a slight whisper. She went back inside the house and upstairs, she saw Dinky asleep in her bed holding a small plush close, Derpy opened her bedroom door and opened her dresser draw to find a golden key attacked to string. Picking it up Derpy went back outside and put the key necklace around her neck, The Doctor gave her the key to the TARDIS and told her if she ever needed him to wear it and think of him, they had a telepathic connection and she could activate it through the key. If she heard two beeps everything was okay and The Doctor was available, if it was just one beep then something happened.
Beep
She waited patiently for the second beep.
...
Nothing... Derpy was worried now, why one beep? Something must have happened...
Since she couldn't talk to her friend she decided to go for a walk, walking around the town at night was very calming. It was one of her favorite things to do especially after a long day at work. Normally she wouldn't go near the Everfree forest; it brings back memories, good ones and bad ones. She can still remember how she reacted when he first brought her into the TARDIS.

"Are you sure you want me to leave Dinky and Amethyst with my friend Carrot Top?" Derpy asked The Doctor as she sat the newborn filly in the carrier.
"Where we are going the filly can't go" He told her, he was reassuring but she was still nervous, Dinky had only been born a month ago, Ponet still didn't come back.
"Okay... Let's go, thanks again Carrot" Derpy said as she hugged her friend and filly before heading out with The Doctor. The Doctor led them to the edge of town to where his blue box was. Derpy was always fascinated by the box, tall and a deep blue. He went inside and held his hoof out towards her.
"Do you trust me enough?" He asked her, she was confused a little, but she nodded her head and went inside with him.
"It's so big! It's like magic doctor!" She said as her big eyes wandered around the entire room, the control panel, the weird couch with levers, and the giant engine in the middle of the room. The Doctor went and pulled on levers and soon enough a loud noise echoed throughout the TARDIS, it wobbled a little bit but they kept their balance. Soon enough the noise stopped, The Doctor had a big grin on his face and held out his hoof again.
"Are you sure you trust me?" Derpy nodded yes and placed her hoof on top of his, "Let’s go then!" He opened the doors of the TARDIS, Derpy's eyes widened at the sight. Outside the doors was the galaxy, space, the entire universe in front of her, she even saw the earth which glowed in beauty. Derpy felt like crying from how beautiful it was to see this, The Doctor had a special type of magic, the magic of a time lord.
"It's... Beautiful Doctor..." She said quietly, but he could still hear her. He still held on to her hoof as they floated in space together, watching the universe. The Doctor had seen the universe many times, but this time it was especially amazing tonight. Little did he know that this was when Derpy had grown a crush on him, she looked at him in the starlight, he looked amazing...How did she not notice it? She did now and it made her heart flutter around then into her stomach. They went back inside and back to the earth, Derpy was still in amazement over what she had just witnessed. Beautiful.

Caught up in the memory she forgot what she was doing, she walked into the Everfree forest and looked up to the sky.
"Oh my Doctor, how I wish you were here..." She said with a bit of sadness in her voice. Where was he?

Amethyst Star's birthday is March 18th and Dinky's is November 22nd.
This was interesting to write, even I was at the edge of my seat!
Walking around the Everfree forest she heard some rustling, she decided to ignore it. She smelt smoke and knew something bad had happened, she followed the sent until she saw the box, the dark blue box that was lying on its side covered in smoke. Instantly fear arose in her mind, she trotted around looking for some form of life, she started to call his name but her only reply was the wind. She sat down in defeat, what if he had died? What would she do without him?
Soon her thoughts were interrupted by the rustling noise again; she decided to go investigate the noise. She went over to the bushes and saw a purple tail wagging in the wind; she uncovered the bush to see a baby manticore. A bay was the least of her worries, but an adult would be so much worse. Seeing the baby brought back memories of The Doctor helping her around with Dinky was just born, she missed him too much, where was he? Why did he have to leave again?
Snapping out of her thoughts she saw the red eyes, the babies didn't have red eyes this young anyway. It was an adult, Derpy backed up slowly not to disturb it, maybe if she make a sound it won't notice her. She felt a hoof touch her shoulder, she looked behind to see a beaten up doctor and a worried look on his face.
"Run" He said as he pulled her close and started to take off.
"You’re okay! I'm so glad you’re safe but why are we running?!" She asked him as the red eyes seemed to glow brighter at her, as if staring right into her soul.
"That's not a manticore! It's something much worse and we need to get away before it sees anymore!" He said calmly as he reached a clearing in the forest. They say down to catch their breath.
"I'm so glad you’re okay..." Derpy said as she nuzzled close to him, she feared the worst for him but thank Celestia she was wrong. They sat there together watching the stars for which seemed like hours. Derpy couldn't be happier, she has lost too many important ponies in her life, and she wasn't going to lose another.
"You were worried about me huh? I'm glad at least someone was..." He said quietly, she was starting to fall asleep with her head on his shoulder, "Maybe it was a good thing I came back" He whispered as he planted a small kiss on her forehead. She got up and they headed back to her house, what they didn't realize that Dinky had followed them the entire time; it was perfect for her essay.

"Everypony give a round of applause for Dinky and her paper! That's the best writing I have seen all year my little pony!"

Cherilee smiled at Dinky as she marked a big A+ on the essay, Dinky knew it was a good idea to follow her mom that night, because she got to see her mom happy again and it was perfect for the essay.
The lesson is that you will find love one way or another, you have a soul mate out there, you just haven't met them yet.
