Rainbows Made From Death

"Urgh... Ouch... What happened?" muttered an aching pegasus filly.

She slowly opened her eyes, feeling that she had at least one black eye. Surrounding her was only inky black darkness, and nothing else. She tried to move around, but found that she was unable to move. Her wings, legs, and neck had what felt like thick metal pieces around them, that were attached to something that was behind her.

"...die in the Pegasus Device..."

She looked around in a panic after hearing those soft words. Who said that? And did they say die? As in be killed?!?

What is going on? she thought nervously What is happening? And how did I get here? And where is here?!?

"...to bring the Failure out! I need everypony out immediately! I am going to do this one personally, and I want NO INTERRUPTIONS!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

The filly flinched a bit as she was suddenly hit by harsh air, a vicious smell, and bright lights. She opened her eyes to get used to the light, as saw a figure standing in front of her.

"Welcome to the Rainbow Factory!" said the figure in a terrifying manner, "Ready to face the Pegasus Device?"

"W-What?" asked the filly in complete confusion, the figure becoming clearer, "Rainbow Dash?"

"Scoots!" suddenly screamed Rainbow, "It's not me doing this! It's them! No, I'm not Rainbow Dash! I am YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!"

"Um, ha ha ha? V-very funny, Rainbow! W-What are we d-doing today?"

Rainbow Dash walked very close to Scootaloo with a malicious grin on her face. She was wearing a white uniform and a white hard hat, and with a shock of terror, Scootaloo noticed that there was blood on her in many places. Her eyes were also red.

"Today, little Scootaloo, you're going to learn how a rainbow is made!"

"W-with water and light or m-magic?"

"It's a lie, Scoots!" Scootaloo noted that Rainbow's eyes were pink again, "Run when you can! I don't want you be told lies!"

Scootaloo noticed (though she was petrified with fear) that Rainbow's voice and eye color kept changing. When her eyes were red, she sounded heartless and uncontrollable. When her eyes were pink, she sounded fearful and worried.

"You see, a rainbow's story isn't exactly nice, it's not a story of sugar and spice! It's a lie! To understand what you need to suffice, you need to know about the Pegasus Device!"

"T-the Pegasus Device?"

Scootaloo saw Rainbow's eyes shift back to pink, as she quickly hit a lever, releasing Scootaloo from the metal that had been constricting her. Scootaloo took off as Rainbow's eyes shifted back to red.

Run!

You see, you don't deserve those wings you bear!

And you're not fit to fly, like a pegasus!

And you'll never see me take back control,

Because I'm now Rainbow Dash, the other one is already old!

I'll find somepony to help you, Rainbow!

Scootaloo managed to stop just before falling off the edge of the metal platform she had been running on. Below her was a conveyor belt that was covered in bones, blood, and flesh.

"What the buck?!? What the hell is down there?!?"

"Just the other ponies who learned about the Pegasus Device!" cackled Rainbow from behind Scootaloo.

"What the buck did you do to them?!?"

"They went into the Pegasus Device!"

"You murdered them!"

"Of course! How else will we make rainbows? Now, I just need you to find the exit and get out of here! And then find somepony to help! Like Twilight or the Princesses!"

Scootaloo quickly jumped from the edge of the metal platform on to a large, iron block that was crushing the body parts. She then jumped on to another metal platform, crying out in pain as she hit the sharp edge and was clinging on with her hooves.

"Hah! You're such a stupid Failure to think that you can outrun me!" Rainbow flew into the air and landed in front of Scootaloo, grabbing her hooves with a cruel grin.

Little filly, no need to fret!

I'll pull you up, and no death yet!

But who am I kidding, you won't survive!

I just want to see you scream when you die!

But seriously kid,

Running away?

Should I tell you our mantra that will never sway!

Scootaloo screamed again as Rainbow gave her a kick to the skull, and let her fall down with the pony remains. She tried to get to her hooves, but Rainbow suddenly flew down next to her and bucked her chest.

"How do you like that? Usually we use the Pegasus Device to kill fillies, but what's left of old Rainbow Dash won't let me! Guess, you'll just have to be crushed into oblivion!"

"Who turned you into this?!?"

"The insane ponies that are here! They're killers! They're insane! They injected me with something that made me want to kill little ponies, just like them!" Rainbow slammed her hoof down to Scootaloo, not caring about where she hit, "It really is the greatest thing! I get to remove all the Failures! Unicorns that can't use magic! Earth ponies with no strength or connection to nature! And most importantly: FLIGHTLESS PEGASI!"

Rainbow picked up Scootaloo and kicked her again, sending her towards the iron crusher. Scootaloo continued to scream and moan in both pain and horror (she was surrounded by the remains of ponies!) and she tried to get away from the crusher and Rainbow.

"Don't worry, Rainbow!" she screamed as she barely dodged a pony's skull that Rainbow had thrown at her, "I'll get out of here and get help for you! And then I'll stop whomever the insane ponies are that are doing this!

"Scoots! MOVE!"

Scootaloo realized that she had ended up under the crusher, and screamed as she ran from the huge iron that came flying down towards her. She screamed again as one of her wings was caught under the crusher, and she felt it tear right off of her body. As she began to feel the true pain, Scootaloo began to scream louder, running away from the crusher again. However, she needed to face Rainbow Dash, who was looking at Scootaloo with an insane smirk.

"And that's only the beginning, sweet filly!"

Scootaloo had bucked a skull at Rainbow, and had succeeded in striking her in the head.

"I'm sorry, Rainbow! But I need to stop this killer they made you!"

"Why you little-"

Scootaloo had bucked another skull at Rainbow, before sprinting past her as fast as possible.

"Oh this is 'adorable'! You actually think you're going to escape!"

Rainbow flew into the air and pulled a lever that was on one of the metal platforms. The conveyor belt that Scootaloo was running on began to speed up, as well as how fast the crusher was moving.

"Stop it!"

"Step on it, you say? I will make it go much slower! RUN, SCOOTS! As if! That's it, little Failure! You're going in the Pegasus Device!"

Rainbow hit a button, and Scootaloo was suddenly lifted up and held in place in front of a machine that had a sharp blade on the end of it.

The blade came lashing out towards Scootaloo, but she manged to free her hooves and hold it back. It was taking all of her strength, and the blade continued to come closer to her.

"No! I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"

Rainbow's eyes switched back to pink, and she suddenly collapsed on the ground. A shadowy figure, in the exact shape as Rainbow came out of her, only showing red eyes and an evil grin. The shadow hit another button, and Rainbow was lifted over to beside Scootaloo, where she was also held in place. She opened in her eyes in terror to see Scootaloo beside her and a blade coming towards her. Rainbow also thrust out her hooves to block the blade, and the shadow laughed manically.

Why you sweet rainbow mare, don't you know what you are?

For a rainbow's story isn't quiet as nice,

As all the tales of sugar and spice!

But a rainbow's easy once you get to know it,

With the help of a magic of a Pegasus Device!

I try my best to not block out the screams!

Shadow Rainbow let out another cackle as she pushed her hoof down harder on the button. The blade came increasingly closer to the two pegasi, and both were fighting as hard as possible to prevent their death.

And then she sits upon her throne and she rolls the diamond die,

AND SHE SENDS US ALL TO THE PEGASUS DEVICE!

Scootaloo felt her strength her strength begin to falter, until she couldn't hold back the blade any more. The blade came zooming towards her, when it was stopped from hitting her neck in just moments. She looked in shock to see that Rainbow had stopped the blade, at the expense of letting her blade reach her. She had gotten out of the way of her death, but the blade had torn right through her wing, and Rainbow was holding back tears.

And she will be here on her dying day!

Rainbow screamed as the blade sliced through her other wing, blood dripping from her wounds. Scootaloo also let out a scream of horror, but had to continue to hold the blade back with Rainbow's weakening assistance. The blade then slashed Rainbow in many places, until finally slicing her neck and killing her.

"Don't die... Scoots... Escape..."

"RAINBOW DASH!!!"

"I just love hearing those delicious screams!"

Rainbow was dropped down on to the conveyor belt, and was soon under the crusher. Scootaloo seemed unable to look away as Rainbow's body was smashed into pieces, sending blood flying in every direction.

"I forgot to take most of her blood! Damn it! Oh well, I'll make sure to take your blood!"

Shadow Rainbow pushed down on the button even harder, and Scootaloo knew she couldn't stop the blade for much longer.

Do it for Rainbow Dash! she thought suddenly, She told you to not die and to escape! You need to respect her final wishes!

With a sudden boost or strength from adrenaline, Scootaloo found herself pushing the blade away from her neck.

"Gotta escape... For Rainbow Dash...

"Stubborn Failure!"

JUST EXCEPT YOUR FATE AND DIE IN THE PEGASUS DEVICE!

You've already proven to all of us,

That you're not fit to fly like a pegasus!

You don't even deserve those wings you bear,

Especially compared to the "legend" over there!

Scootaloo let out a scream, and pushed the blade far away from herself. She ripped free of the metal bindings, taking into the air as fast as possible. Shadow-Dash let out a scream of anger, taking into the air after Scootaloo.

Gotta escape! For Rainbow's sake!

Scootaloo began doing complicated maneuvers to try and escape from Shadow Rainbow's clutches. She was growing tired very quickly, but she couldn't give up!

"Just give it up, Failure!"

"I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!!!"

Scootaloo shifted her hooves around and realized that she was still bleeding from being slammed into the razor-sharp edge of the metal platform. The wound was starting to scar, but she had lost a lot of blood without even realizing it.

Wait, how am I flying with one wing?!?

Scootaloo looked at her wings for a moment to see a semi-transparent orange wing where her other one used to be. It looked like it was slowly turning cyan, and she could of sworn there was a figure beside it for a moment.

You can do it, Scoots!

"Rainbow Dash?!?"

"Cry all you want, but she's dead! And soon, you will also be!"

I'm here for you, Scootaloo!

Beside Scootaloo was the ghost of Rainbow Dash, pumping Scootaloo's "ghost wing". Rainbow also had her wings, though they weren't flapping.

Rainbow Dash! Is that really you?!?

I'm a ghost now, though! But that doesn't matter right now! You need to escape! Just head straight towards the next wall, and I'll do the rest!

Scootaloo flew directly towards one of the walls, with Ghost Rainbow already being over there. She wrapped her hooves around Scootaloo just before she hit the wall, and Scootaloo went right through it.

Keep flying until you reach Ponyville!

"Nice try little filly!" cried Shadow Rainbow who was still behind Scootaloo, "You can't escape me or the Rainbow Factory!"

Scootaloo found herself flying towards the ground at a high speed. She seemed unable to stop, but she didn't care. Rainbow Dash would help her!

Rainbow, can you slow me down?

Ghost Rainbow gave a nod, but suddenly vanished, along with Scootaloo's "ghost wing".

"Ha! Goodbye, little filly!"

"Rainbow Dash! Where did you go!"

"Why, I killed her ghost, obviously!"

"WHAT?!?"

Scootaloo screamed again when she saw that the ground was covered in blades.

"Scootaloo! WAKE UP!"

Scootaloo sat up in her bed suddenly, still screaming.

"RAINBOW DASH!" she screamed in horror.

"Scoots! I'm right here! You were having a nightmare!"

"A NIGHTMARE?!? IT WAS WORSE THAN A NIGHTMARE!"

"Deep breaths, Scoots! Just take some deep breaths to calm down. What was this nightmare about that was so scary?"

Normally, Scootaloo would insist that she was too tough, or that the nightmare wasn't really that scary, but both of those would such lies that she just told Rainbow was the nightmare was about. By the end of her story, Rainbow's eyes were wide open in horror.

"You and I were killed to be made into RAINBOWS?!?"

Scootaloo simply nodded before clinging on to Rainbow as tightly as possible.

"Make the blood go away!"

"Shh... Don't worry, Scoots. It was just a dream. Nothing is going to hurt you. Do you want to get something to eat to make you feel better?"

"Y-yeah!"

Rainbow placed Scootaloo on her back and flew out the window. Neither pony had noticed the blood-stained fragment of metal behind Scootaloo's pillow with a message written in slashes in the metal and blood.
