I woke up to Mother getting ready to... Go somewhere? "W-where are you going, mommy?" I asked quietly, and cutely. "To gather food, my dear hatchling. I will be back soon, I promise." she, again used that damned soothing voice. I nodded, still lying where I had been. I scratched my ears and experimented with them, as well as my wings. "Why can't I come?" I asked, my curiosity getting to me. "Because it's dangerous, and because mommy says so, okay?" she said in a authority like voice. "Y-yes m-mommy..." I responded. She then picked me up with her mouth again, taking me to a room. It was a small room, and it had two other hatchlings in it, maybe two days older than me at the most. "You'll stay in here until I get back, okay?" she said in that soothing tone, of which I nodded. Don't worry cutey, I'll be able to talk to you. and she left. All three of us hatchlings looked at each other before licking each other, giggling. That entire day was just us giggling, licking, and nibbling on each other, having as much fun as we could. I couldn't fall asleep though, I felt as if something bad had happened. The hivemind was quiet the entire day, and I couldn't reach Mother.. I hope she's alright.. I thought, scared. The other two walked over and we cuddled each other, trying to comfort each other. We could all feel the disturbance, the fear. We eventually fell asleep.
