"Yeah! Go Hannah!"
"Keep going!"
"Run! Get to home!"
These shouts and more echoed across the field as Hannah ran towards home plate. The only thing on her mind was that little white pad on the ground. She knew that Shortstop had the ball. It would be tight. But she had to try.
Time seemed to slow down and speed up. Hannah watched as the ball went soaring towards home. She wouldn't make it!
Grinning, Hannah put on a burst of speed. Her legs burned, her breath was short, her face stung from the wind, but none of it mattered. With a push of her legs, Hannah dove towards the plate. Her finger touched it just before the ball went in to the catchers glove. The crowed cheered. The parents of every kid from her team stood, clapping and whistling.
Hannah felt elated with pride. She did it. The previously tied score of 4 to 4 was now 5 to 4, just as the buzzer went off. She scored the winning run.
"You played great today, Hannah."
"Thanks dad." Hannah replied with a smile. Her shirt and pants were a mess, filthy from the dirt she got on them when she dove, but it was worth it.
"You better take a shower when you get home." Her dad teased.
"Yeah, yeah, you say that every game." Hannah nudged her dad. "But don't worry, I will. Even I can see home filthy I am."
Both of them shared a good laugh as they got in to the car and began to drive home. "Can I pick the music?" Hannah asked.
"Sure, Hannah. You earned it." Her dad smiled.
Hannah plugged her phone in to the car and went to her music. She began playing her favorite song.

"I don't know why I, feed on emotion, there's a stomach inside my brain!" Hannah began singing. Her dad joined in.
"I don't wanna be heard, I wanna be listened to, does it bother anyone else that someone else has your name! Does it bother anyone else that someone else has your name, your name?"
Her dad stopped as Hannah went on for a solo.
"I scream, you scream, we all scream cause were terrified, of what's around the corner! We stay in place cause we don't wanna loose our lives! So let's think of something better."
"Down in the forest, we'll sing a chorous, one that everybody knows! Hands held higher, we'll be on fire, singing songs that nobody wrote!"
Hannah sighed as she stepped out of her room. Now showered, clean, and dressed in her pajamas, she was ready to sit and relax on her couch and watch some TV. She closed her door and sat down, turning on her tv and playing her favorite program,
