Prologue

The War Lost in Time

Prelude

The darkness was always there… I could feel it. Always Festering and Brewing… waiting for something, or a right time to act against the inhabitants of this land. I… didn’t know … what was to come… or how devastating it would be… It was too late to stop it. But now I have to fix what has happened… what I have… no it’s wasn’t my fault… but now I have to stand up against this darkness… and what matters most is to stop it from spreading farther. I will risk my life to keep this realm from falling into eternal darkness… I will succeed or die trying, for it is my job… my duty... to find a way… to fight this evil and right all that has happened, and bring back those who have fallen to this evil… and bring them back to the light.

Twilight stood with her five friends as they gathered with everyone one else for the final part of the party. Looking towards Applejack, she was talking with Rainbowdash about how cool the party was and what they liked most about it. Next to Rainbow dash pinkie pie was jumping up and down enthusiastically as usual. Fluttershy and Rarity stood watching content with themselves, well while Fluttershy was looking around more though nervous about what, she didn’t know. All together they were one of many small groups waiting at the edge of the party waiting for the newly wed couple to come down to their waiting carriage. Twilight though was the most enthusiastic because her brother was the one who had gotten married and after what had happened early today, was glad for this whole wedding to be finally over.
Listening to her friends talk she almost missed her brother and Princess Cadence appearing out of the crowed and making there way to them. Quickly standing up more she greeted them hugging her brother and Princess cadence before letting them into the carriage. The two exchanging words.

The hundreds of other ponies stood on the cobbled stones of the great castle of Celestia one of the great princesses of Equestria. The castle itself was a beautifully built masterpiece with many kinds of stones built into it from all across Equestria. THe grand tower in the center reaching far into the sky. Other smaller lesser towers breaking off of the main castle and hanging over the castle walls a little. The main castle walls made up of white stone and golden trim around the tops. Around it the town of Canterlot surrounded by a secondary wall. Far above, the sun setting behind the great castle towers.

Twilight stood there thinking now, how, or what was going to happen now that her brother Shining Armor and his new bride Princesses Cadence were going to affect the world of Equestria. Whether they would greatly change the world or only be there when they are needed like Celestia, Twilight didn’t really know. Thinking this over as she waved goodbye to the newly wed as they were carried away in their carriage the carriage a dark mahogany wood cut from the finest tree’s in Equestria painted pink Cadence's colors drawn by two guards in dazzling gold armor.

The two waved as they were drawn away down the mountainside that the castle was built on built long ago high atop this mountain peak. Though Twilight did wonder where Princesses Luna and Celestia had gone earlier for pressing matters unknown to the six or for a meeting Twilight knew they did have though’s quite often. The groups of ponies slowly drifted off from the party, heading home to bed or to other parties across canterlot the couple lost in the distance. The main six of waited and watched for some time before heading for their own beds.

“Wasn’t that party awesome” Rainbow Dash said ecstatically, fluttering her wings in excitement.

“I guess” Fluttershy said quietly, barely audible over the crowds of other ponies talking as they were leaving.

Twilight listened, but didn’t pay much attention to it, not while she thought over why and where the princesses went that was so important and if it would affect her and her friends later on. She felt something wasn’t right, that something was wrong… but she didn’t know what it was.

“Do you guys … feel… cold?” Twilight said shivering a little bit. But how could this be, when they were in the middle of June. She looked about wondering how this could be, how could she be… this cold.

“We made it… quickly let’s get in here”

“Quickly I hear guards coming” another said but a female voice this time.

A door could be heard opening and closing a low sounding rumble as it was put back into place “We're in...lets hope she's still here…” movement could be heard as two sets of hooves could be heard progressing forward into a dimly lit room with rubble scattered over the floor like confetti. The walls dull with age and weathering as well as tattered banners across the walls unrecognizable. The two looked up and there on the ceiling cracked with new vegetation growing across it, were these green sacs six of them all glowing slightly in the dim light and a pony in each one, in a trance of sleep. they stopped under one, one of the biggest ones… Twilight Sparkle sleeping soundly inside.

“She's been in there for some time so she might be… confused to what has happened but she also will be weak from being in there for this long of a time period…” a male said his voice slightly echoing off the vast ceiling.

“How are we going to get her down?” the female voice inquired.

“The only way we can, by breaking the sac” with those final words a thin line of bright ice blue matter jumped forth and cut the sac open, releasing all the fluid and the occupant…

In this season it should not feel… quickly felt that she was slipping backwards… no falling! She was falling … into a hole!! “Rainbowdash! Fluttershy help!” but it seemed as if they didn't care and disappeared from view as she fell into this anomaly that had appeared underneath her. Her friends, they were quickly replaced as well by a pitch black world around her. She flailed about fear showing in her eyes as she fell trying to stop herself or slow her down but all it did was make her panic even more.

After sometime she didn't know how long she had been falling down or how far but as she looked down it seemed to keep going… endlessly. By her guess she had been here for almost half an hour doing nothing but falling. She began to think of how this… whatever it was could've happened to her of all ponies, and not to anypony else.

When she did find the bottom of this… pit quite soon after her last thought she hit it hard, knocking the wind out of her and buckling her knees throwing her to the ground even harder and causing her head to whiplash. She tried to keep her eyes open but they began to get heavier and heavier as the hit had brought her skull and brain into contact and causing her to begin to black out but before she closed them completely she saw one thing out of the darkness what looked like a pony coming towards her.

“Quickly we need to make sure she’s ok” the male said as they came towards the crumpled form on the floor surrounded by goo and what was left of the shell.

“Do you think she’s ok” the female said concerned for Twilight.

“I can't tell from here we need to bring her over to the wall and sit her up… quietly we don't want to make to…” Crash!…

“Sorry…” a female voice responded after stumbling into a small but large chunk of rock and falling foward to the ground.

“Mhm… let's just hope no one heard… ok, help me with her…”

She woke shivering, slowly opening her eyes, “Ohh.. my head” she slowly pushed herself up onto her knees looking about but it was to dark for her to see. She tried to move herself up more but before she could even stand her knees buckled and she fell back down in a fit of pain causing her to cry out. She looked down at her hoof a worried look upon her face. Again she slowly tried to get up but when she put some weight her right hoof she cried out falling back to her knees.

“I’ve sprained my hoof badly… I won't be able to move anytime soon… but I can still look around” she turned her head looking again at her surroundings, but all she was able to see was just more darkness all around her… she was engulfed in it “ What am I going to do now?” she looked about wondering what should she do then she stopped when something caught her eye. A light seemed to pierce the veil of darkness, slowly at first then growing from a mere speck to a shining doorway.

Twilight had to look away as the light became too intense to look straight at as she looked away she saw movement within the light so she turned back towards the light and squinted hoping to make out who was approaching.

“Hello Twilight” A light female voice said from out of the doorway that was now dimming to a morning sunrise, a female pony came out of the light towards her. Standing in front of Twilight was a cute mare unicorn, a bit taller than she, short cut hair, sharp and beautiful, it was a light mix of blue and white. The mare turned a little revealing her cutie-mark, a star in the middle of her caf and 3 smaller stars surrounding it, all in the shapes of shooting stars.

“Wh...who are you?” Twilight asked in awe.

“A friend” the newcomer said, the mare walking forward.

“Were…”Twilight looked about “am I? the mare did not seem to notice the question but stopped in front of her and looked down and smiled.

“Not where…” Twilight looked up into the mare's eyes and saw sadness, the mare’s eyes betraying the other wise comforting smile ” A place, a place no pony wants to be my young Twilight”

“How do you know who I am and am… am I…am I” Twilight stuttered

“I know who everyone is my little one… and no your time has not come and it won't for a long time” she smiled and chuckled looking down at Twilight. Bemused at Twilight's uncertainty as she should be, for this place is no joking matter.

“Then why am I here?”

“To bring your mind back to your body, to bring you back to the reality of the world beyond this one” she motioned towards the darkness around her. The mare slowly turning to her right and left as she talked.

“What do you mean?” the mare just smiled, ignoring the question and then turned away from Twilight walking, no sauntering back towards the door of light, stopping right before it.

“You will find out sooner or later Twilight, but now you must return to your world...” the mare pausing as if thinking what to say next, a look of puzzlement crossing her face, but it quickly disappeared returning to it’s sad but comforting smile. “...Someone's waiting for you, someone who would really like to meet you” then the mare stepped through the portal as it began to recede into the darkness leaving Twilight alone once more in cold darkness.

“Wait! Who’s waiting… and Who are you!” but the mare was gone nothing remained…not a speck of light was left behind except for what seemed to be a green lightning bug that stood vigilantly over Twilight for some time. Twilight stared back at the green lightning bug with ample curiosity going so far as to reach out to it. When she did it moved quickly down towards her, Twilight flinching returning her hoof to her side. It floated lazily down after the instant burst of speed and came to rest on her nose. “What are you…” looking at it she had an itching feeling growing slowly at first then gaining momentum like a herd of cows gaining speed in a stampede. Trying to stifle the oncoming sneeze she swallowed and hiccuped, the hiccup a high pitched pep like when you have an old rusted door swung open quickly when you know if you let it, it will yell out in an ear piercing screech. With that Twilight began to feel dizzy, the darkness becoming an abnormal darker black, witch you would think would be almost impossible, but even now it was happening to her. Then a sudden THWACK, Twilight getting hit with an even brighter light than before, the force of it almost as if a cow had just steam rolled you on it’s way past, flattening her onto her back “Not again…”

“She’s coming to!” the mare’s voice high and excited.

“Good... she still remains with us... she’s tougher than she looks…” the male responded.

“What's that supposed to mean? Twilights the toughest Pony I know…”

“ That’s what I’m worried about…” The stallion shuffling his feet returning some warmth to them” Okay, you stay by her side… and please, please don't try to make so much noise this time… ok?

“Have I ever let you down? the mare said with some sarcasm mixed in.

“Suuuurrre...” the male responded a pause in his voice as he pondered something then found what he was looking for and continued”… I’ll be back, I’m going to check for any of those pests they call warriors, make sure they haven’t noticed us yet”. The stallion's hoof beats could be heard echoing through the hall for a while until it began receding as he turned into the hall disappearing.

Twilight stirred…slowly groaning her whole body aching every part of her crying out in agony. Slowly the pain began to subside, give back her senses first to come back was smell. The smells she could sense were just as agonizing as her pain. The scent of molding cloth and moss concocting together with the stale air made her gag reflex go from oh what a nice day to, OH GOD WHAT IS THAT!

Next was her sense of taste, breathing in slowly she tasted the stale air causing her to gag the slight taste of bitterness reaching her tongue. Swallowing quickly she was left with only a gross aftertaste to contend with. Either then a slight breeze and the flapping of cloth there was not much to hear. Then her sense of touch came back to here in an almost instant heat wave as her nerves were finally realizing what was happening and beginning to freak out sending consistent messages to her brain. Her brain even though so powerful was flooded and for a few minutes Twilight couldn’t think about anything else but pain. Slowly that subsided leaving her cold and empty. Then she finally began to feel her true surroundings, feeling around she felt something cold and hard resting against her side… it felt like stone but she was unsure. She moved a little bit to see if she could still move but when she did pain quickly washed back over her and under her breath she cursed herself for being so weak physically.

Atlast after sitting, or laying there for twenty minutes she was able to open her eyelids, though ever so slowly, straining against her will. When they became slits she could only see gray, gray light seeping in squinting in the dim but bright light she opened them more. Revealing a lot more then was there previously. It revealed to her that she was indeed laying on her side on a stone floor covered with moss what was left of the floor was only visible in patches of clear space yet to be conquered by the encroaching moss. Over her head tattered banners slowly waved in a small breeze that she could tell was coming from the multiple boulder sized holes in the wall who was also covered by vines and in some places stone statues and pillars emerged but as they did, they disappeared into more of the viny mass. She couldn't recognize where she was at the moment but from what she could tell at least she was safe.

But she probably shouldn’t have said that because as she did a notable movement of hooves could be heard behind her. COming oh so closer by the seconds, Twilight tensing waiting for what horrors may come next but just as before she should probably stop trying to guess what was going to happen next. With that who ever was coming had stopped, directly behind her, leaving Twilight quite cold with fear, scared so much that her body shivered uncontrollably. What she didn’t expect was a gray figure to appear before her and look directly at her. Twilights eyes level with two greenish yellow eyes and a yellow mane slight obscure one of the eyes. But as the other being moved around to her front she was met with two eyes but one slightly off center.

“Twilight?”

“ Du...du...Derpy!?!?”

One thing that really needs work is the story. I will update this at least once a week so please be patient.

Chapter 1: An unusual meeting

“De...Derpy? how..what... huh? Twilight's expression, something between a cross of utter confusion and dumbfoundedness. Her eyes focusing and unfocusing as she tried to stare at Derpy.

“You ok Twilight?” Derpy asked looking back, watching Twilight's expression and eyes changing constantly just like the tides of the sea. Derpy watched this spectacle unfolding before her. Wondering how Twilight was accomplishing this great feat of facial movement.

“Stiff, but ok…”

“You ...kind of fell…”she said sheepishly

“Well thanks for telling me that, well from where exactly though if you don’t mind Derpy?”

“ Up there” Derpy put bluntly as she raised her hoof pointing the high vaulted ceiling above.

“No wonder, I feel like crap, well not like that but, you know what I mean” Looking to Derpy but it seemed she hadn’t been listening and was distracted at the moment.. “ Oh great Not only am I someplace new but with Derpy of all ponies…” Murmuring it to herself, not to offend Derpy but even she knows she isn’t much help in a situation like thi… wait what situation are they in? Raising herself off the cold ground she put her right hoof out to balance herself as her sight wasn’t going to be much help at the moment. After putting pressure down on her hoof a quer sensation feed back up to her brain and a split second later it translated into immense pain. Gasping for air as she dropped like a rock back to the ground she yelped out more in surprise than pain.

“Twilight! Shhhh don’t be too loud or they will hear you…” Derpy suddenly more alert the usual, well more unusual for Derpy that is.

“Waa?” but before should get her question out Derpy stuffed her hoof in her muzzle silencing her then with a glance left Twilight dazed and more appalled at the new Derpy then at her current state..

Twilight finally took her eyes off of Derpy and looked around while Derpy walked away, talking to herself softly. Twilight looked first to her right, what she saw stunned her. Staring right at her was a giant hole in the stone wall were there would have been a raised platform. “Wait That design…” Shifting her weight she stared at the stone work that remained. “...No this can’t be the place that I think we're in…” The thought finally dawning on her, the vaulted ceilings large open space and a raised platform she was in Celestia's throne room, no what was left of it.
The sight of it all, it just… took her breath away. Looking past the hole she could see down the great mountain Canterlot was built upon. Burnt trees and underbrush scattered against the now grey ground. Looking away from the horrible seen outside and up to the sides she caught a glimpse of a banner hanging by a few threads, one of Celestia's banners tattered and torn as if claws had cut through it. Claws the size of her legs. Rubble was spewed across the marble floor like forgotten toys left out after play. From above where sunlight was pouring in were more holes some small and others as large as a cart.Other parts of the building's skeleton showing within the holes the exposed supports barely holding on. Creaking with great effort to hold it’s shape as the wind blowing unhindered by the massive holes scattered across the hall tried to force it apart.
To Twilight's left more rubble spread across the ground randomly and the great doors that would have entered the hall beyond was no more but a shamble of it’s former self. Then her eyes caught movement right before looking away, looking back she noticed the right door was now at a forty five degree angle.

“Umm Derpy…” Derpy looked to Twilight then saw her motioning to the door and glanced to it.
A figure entered into the great hall and closed the door behind itself it was clad in a grey cloak that shimmered with the breeze.

“So she finally wakes” a male voice said the voice emanating from underneath the cloak.

“Who are you?” Twilight returned defensively trying to rise again but with little progress to show except another gasp escaping her lips.

“A friend ”Derpy said hastily” His names..”

“My names Will” He interrupted the hood of the cloak facing to Derpy. Derpy’s ears lowered a little but something past between them that Twilight could see but her ears perked up after a half second. “You are probably confused,” The cloaked figure walking to Twilight now with Derpy trailing behind happily humming to herself “I'll explain everything... after we get you out of here first but for now, all you need to know is my name.”

“Well I won't be going anywhere with this sprained hoof and I’m not leaving without my friends…” Twilight said aggressively, her ears lowering. Will continued walking to her either oblivious of her slight threat or just ignoring it ßcouldn’t tell with his face covered. Reaching Twilight he brought from under the hood his horn “You're a unicorn”

“Yes now hold still…” he lowered his horn towards her hoof,, at first she flinched pulling it back and Will chuckled waiting for her to present her hoof to him. Twilight swallowed and outstretched her damaged hoof from her view she saw him smirking. He then reached down and muttered a few words his horn engulfed in an ice blue aura and the pain seemed to be washed away by a warm feeling rising throughout her leg.

“Thank you…”Still suspicious of the cloaked pony she tested her hoof and slowly stood up put little by little slowly putting more pressure on it, when it didn’t hurt she stood up quicker than she anticipated and stumbled into Will, right into his cloak, he smiled and chuckled. Twilight quickly straightened herself after falling into him blushing in embarrassment.

“Your welcome… but I don't think you want to bring those things along” he motioned upward to the ceiling, there hanging from a beam were 6 pods and one of which now stood broken… the one she had come from.

“*Gasp*… my…”

“Your friends, I don't think so” Will said sighing to himself and shaking his head. Twilight looking at him if as he had lost his mind.

“What do you mean not my friends they are right there!” she said pointing at the pods and staring into the hood of the male pony.

“There’s more than meets the eye Twilight…You should know after reading so many books” he remarked, Will looked up towards the pods

“Look…” Twilight looked back up at the 5 figures inside the pods. An ice blue beam sweeping over all the pods like a printer but as she watched she gasped as they changed into something different.

“There…” her face draining of all color ,her ears turning down in fright and her eyes dilating as she stared at the changelings now inside the pods.

“Changelings… yes, set there to warn the rest of them if someone tried to free you and your friends...” he looked about then stared out the massive hole where the throne used to be then as if coming out of a trance turned back to Twilight “...to stop you from escaping”

“So we never … “

“Actually defeated her... no” The cloaked figures head lowering for a split second before popping up again like a wakamole machine.

“That means… *gasp* we lost but how…” she looked about frantically trying to figure out how this could've happened. “But we had The spell of true love from cadence…”

“You never made it to the Elements and then for a split second you then were in the hall like we are now that should have been a big clue it wasn't real…” taking a breath louder then he wanted too caused him to straighten more “ They put you under quite quickly, a sleeping spell stronger than I thought they could do. Allowing them to encase you in those pods putting you in a deep sleep sending your mind into a dream world...” pausing mid thought the hood turned to the door then back to them. “I will continue to explain but once we get out of this Dreadful castle”

“Wait...Then where are my friends…”

He turned and quickly went over to the door and listened. He ignored the question but right before Twilight was about to repeat it he said “ Like I said before I’ll explain everything later…” Twilight angered by this ignorant pony lowered her ears and stood next to Derpy staring coldly at Will “ Derpy ,Twilight we need to move now let's go” Will opened the door and slipped through without looking back his cloak flowing through the crack after him.

“We better go he’s right” Derpy said looking to Twilight “We stay here and we will be captured” with that she slipped and fell but got up and smiled and looked about to make sure no one saw and went over to the door and motioned for Twilight to follow “let's go” Twilight looked at Derpy then thought to herself what kind of world am I in that Derpy is this knowledgeable and confident?

Looking to Derpy and seeing getting impatent She started forward “What am i getting myself into?” Twilight said to herself, following Derpy to the door.

Twilight slipped through the open door but stopped before going through and turned back towards the room. Looking about one last time, maybe her last time she thought to herself. She looked down saddened thinking of all the good and bad times she had in here but she wasn’t going to get any of that back if she stayed would she. Then with a final glance she turned slipping through the door after Derpy.

“Over here” Derpy whispered as Twilight came through on the other side of the door. Derpy standing off to the side in a side hallway looking around the corner and smiling her derpy smile. Twilight paused inside the door frame and quickly glanced down the hall. When Twilight didn’t see no pony coming she rushed over to Derpy and as she rounded the corner she ran into the cloaked figure of Will.

“*Ooff*… Sorry”

Will’s cloaking giving a noticeable nod then moving to Derpy “Derpy you fly up ahead and check before we continue” The cloak ruffling as he turned back to Twilight.

“Ok” She said gleefully but before taking off Derpy lost her balance for a sec but regained it, just in time as she was about to hit the floor head first. Derpy laughed to herself then lept into the air and glided down the hall. Derpy’s grey flank slowly getting smaller and then disappearing around a corner.

“Let's go” Will said, well more of the hood as it nodded down the hall a bit too exaggerated then meant to. Will then started trotting down the hall barely making a sound like he was walking on clouds. On the other hand Twilight had a harder time keeping quiet. She had to walk slowly to muffle the noise from her hooves hitting the marble floor and Will periodically had to stop and wait for her to catch up, his impatience almost nonexistent but still there. By the time Twilight got to the end of the hall Derpy had returned and was giving a thumbs down, no a hoof down that it wasn’t clear.

“...Are you sure… Ok I guess we're going to have to go the back way…”Twilight just catching the end of the conversation as she reached them” You made it, ok follow me and Derpy we need to move fast…” Will’s voice not very reassuring that there wasn’t any problem further on. The three trotted down the hall Derpy gliding her and there while Will moved down the hall like a ghost his hooves barely touching the ground. Will though quickly taking the front lead them through the twisting halls of Celestia's Castle. It was sometime later that Twilight saw Will stop. They caught up to him at an intersection in the hallway.

This intersection looking just like the others Twilight could only wonder why they had stopped they had two choices, go left or right simple. But Will was looking straight ahead. Twilight looked past him and only saw a wall then she was struck with a thought “ You're lost aren’t you?”
Will looked behind them ignoring the question which only just made Twilight angry again. Twilight convinced of this and having lived half her life here was about to step in when Will looked back towards the wall and muttered a few words.

“What?”

His horn glowed a light blue illuminating his face for a split second but Twilight still slowly getting used to her legs again missed her chance to see who ever was underneath. But what really had stopped her was the sudden rumbling coming from the wall. Dust fall from around a portion of the wall, not just a little but a waterfall of dust that made Twilight's eyes water. The stones had begun to crack and move away and as the dust settled a doorway now replaced where once the wall had stood.

“*Gasp*… I never knew this was here!” Twilight looking towards the now new entrance curiosity fuming from her wondering of what laid beyonds its frame “I’ve read everything about this castle… th...this shouldn’t be here” Twilight said baffled and surprised that this secret passageway wasn’t even anywhere in the books.

Even though Twilight couldn’t see his face she could tell he was smirking “There are some...” he said amusement creeping into his voice”...things... kept out of the history books for a reason” His smirk turning into a grin” Let's go, quickly now, before were spotted” Will looked around to make sure there was no one near and trotted into the now open passage a slight vibration upon the cloaks surface as Will walked away chuckling. Twilight angry but not but as well confused and not, right now she didn’t know which was utterly not amused by his statement as Will was.

Will Stopped inside the door and motioned for them to follow. Twilight snapping out of her slight brain freeze quickly crossed the open ground with Derpy right behind her. They both entered the passage, barely squeezing in shoulder to shoulder. Though once through Will muttered a few words and the doorway was replaced once more by the impenetrable stone that was there moments before.
The passage was then plunged into total darkness.

“I can't see! Im blind!” Derpy yelled out histarcaly.

Will Muttered something from Twilights right and a ball of light slowly glowed to life dimly at first then began to intensify until it light up a large portion of the passage it floated about Wills head bobbing around happily.” Ohh… sorry...hehe” Derpy smiled at them as both looked at her, Twilight's right brow raised and Wills cloak shuddering in his amusement.

Twilight then turned to the light floating, no bouncing near his hood “I’ve never seen something like this before” Twilight inquired.

“It's a willowisp his father was a great help to mine”

“*Gasp*... a willowisp but I thought they were legend…”

Will smiled “... They are …” Twilight staring at the ball of light now floating around her head. “ Well… let's go before those bugs find out you're gone.” The wisp stopped mid air “ Woa not you mate..hehe…” The light now seemingly talking, no yelling at Will silently as she couldn’t hear what it was saying. Giggling they stopped then Will only shook his head and motioned for them to start walking.

Will turned and slowly trotted down the passage the willowisp slowly hoping around after him now seemingly no longer angry at him. Derpy and Twilight followed behind. The corridor was tight but wide enough for her and Derpy to walk side by side but just barely. They followed the passage way for a few feet before going up a flight of stairs.

Twilight looked around but all she saw was the stone passage that was engulfed in darkness. On the walls she noticed at intervals were rings in the wall had been hammered into the wall long ago when this tunnel was used more often, but by the looks of it this tunnel hasn't seen a pony in here for decades. She noticed that the passage was turning slowly but turning in an upward angle.

“Um aren't we going up… I thought we were trying to get out of here only one of us can fly you know”

Will continued walking up the passage and without looking back and answered “I know… we will get out of here soon enough but first i need to show you something…”he stopped and they bumped into each other “Here”

Twilight looked about but all she saw was the dark passage way all around her. Will turned towards the wall next to him and touched his now glowing horn to it. Nothing happened at first then a cloud of dust rose from the ground as the section of wall began to fall away causing them to cough. The willowisp disappeared and Will stepped through the now new opening in the passage. Twilight and Derpy after they had stopped coughing followed him through the new hole in the wall and as they did it closed behind them just as quickly as it had fallen away for them to pass. Twilight looked around as it closed, and as the dust settled the doorway was gone like it was never there to begin with. When she turned back around she noticed that this hallway seemed familiar.

“Derpy if you mind staying out here?”

“No problem” she said smiling then she started walking and tripped but quickly stood back up and continued down the hall.

“Twilight” Will stood in front of two massive doors, then Twilight knew where she was.

“Celestia's quarters… but were not allowed in there unless called in by Celestia herself” She came towards the massive doors etched in gold.

“Yes… but that's also why I have brought you here” He turned around and pushed against the massive doors that would usually take 3 or 4 ponies to open but it opened easily for Will who seemed to not touch it at all except for his hoof. He opened it just enough for him to slip through the door.

“But…” she stood there pondering what to do “...Hugh” she entered even though it went against all she stood for. When she entered her breath was forced out of her as if someone had just tackled her to the ground, the room was a total wreck it was destroyed. There were scorch marks everywhere along the walls and floor there were massive holes in the tower walls allowing wind to rush in and exit unhindered. The only thing still standing was once again one banner of Celestia's mark flapping in the wind.

“So was this what you wanted to show me…?”

He looked at her then turned away back towards the room “This wasn't like this not long ago that is more like 3 weeks and 4 days ago…” puaseing” Well about...” he sighed and Twilight could see he was shaking his head, he then looked back up and continued “ A group of ponies had taken enough of this Evil you would say…They were sick of hidding in terror” Will puasing once more before continuing “So a group of 30 ponies had gotten into the castle. There plan... to break out Celestia from her prison here in her tower… but it was a trap they had been waiting for them to come to get her and they knew that if Equestria lost its strongest in just saving Celestia no one could stop them…” WIll walked towards the balcony “ They lost 15 after they broke her chains to release her… But they were able to get down there…” Twilight walked over to the edge and looked down in the courtyard below “ But as they did they lost the rest and Celestia was…”

“*Gasp*… Turned to stone!”Twilight interrupted as she saw the statue of Celestia kneeling in terror.

“... Yes and no one knew what had happened to those who went and all lost hope and succumb to the darkness..” Will puaseing letting this sink in. Twilight didn’t need time, she was glued to the figure in stone below and at the acoupening statutes of the other ponies around her.
“How do you know this” Twilight asked as she finally looked up from below “If no one saw what had happened how did you know?”
Will sighed and looked downward and answered from underneath his cloak “I was the one who let them into the castle I was the one who came up with the plan and as by fate I was the only one who got away…” He looked towards Twilight and for the first time Twilight saw his face his Ice blue eyes cold and deep in thought drawing her into them and his hair a dark blue cut short like it had been cut with a dull blade “...The last thing she told me before I left her side was to come back and get you and then find the elements and right everything…” He turned back down and stared at the forms below. “ That is why I’m here and now you know some of what has happened since you've been gone and also now you know what you need to do...I hope”

“Yes…” Twilight looking back at the statues below, back up and then saw Will turn towards the door and start walking to it.

“I think it best for us to go now…” Will reaching the door while Twilight looked one last time at Celestia vowed to free her and Equestria from what ever Evil force now held the world in a deadly limbo. She tared her eys from below and turned towards the doors as well and trotting over to Will. Then they exited the room into the dark hallway beyond. The duo turned right and started down the passageway when Derpy came running and Slammed right into them knocking them down.

“Derpy what's up” Will asked as he quickly got up from under Derpy and Twilight.

“They're coming!!” But before she could finish the hissing and sounds of hooves on marble came to them from down the hall and rounding the corner where hundreds of changelings.

“Into the room now!” Will half dragged, half lifted Twilight up and they galloped back into Celestia's quarters. They stumbled into the room and as they did so, Will closed and sealed it with his magic, just as the front wave of changelings ran into the door causing loud audible crashes from beyond the door.

“I don't think that door will hold them!” Twilight pointed as the door seemed to warp inward and then returned to its original form “Correction I don't think it will hold them for a minute!” Will looked about as Twilight was frantically trying to find things to blockade the door with. While Twilight did that Derpy Floated about aimlessly jumping higher into the air with each blow to the door and then banged right into one of the supports. Causing heaps dust to fall causing her to sneeze herself backwards onto the floor with a thud.

Will quickly looked about the room thinking up plans to eitehr help there escape of delay the changelings but one thing did come to mind something he had seen earlier “Come on, I know How we're getting out of here… Derpy let's go!” he yelled the last part as once more the door move inward this time a thundering deafening cracking noise could be heard washing over them and as it settled the hissing on the other side of the door became more prominent.

Twilight then saw what Will was doing a look of utter terror appearing on her face “What! No I am not..” Before Twilight could finish her sentence she was dragged to the balcony and thrown over, Will then threw himself quite comically over his legs close to his body like a cannonball. While Derpy behind them just simply dropped like a rock closing her wings tight to her flanks. As they disappeared, the door came crashing down with a massive storm of dust, rising up from the floor from the weight of all the changelings.

“I hope you like skydiving because that's what we're doing” Will yelled as he caught up to Twilight who was screaming but also gasping as the air came rushing into her lungs every time she opened her mouth.

“Well…” Twilight said gulping trying to getting herself under control “... I hope…*gulp*... you have a plan to stop us... because here comes the ground! ” and not far below, the ground was sure enough, rushing towards them at terrifying speeds... and all Will did, was smile.

Chapter 2: Escaping Hell

Chapter 2

Will Felt the wind upon his face as he fell from the sky. It was quite invigorating, as he fell further he could feel the adrenaline rush he craved coursing through his veins as the ground approached him.

Even though he would have loved to keep this feeling going he had more pressing matters. Twisting his body upward he could see the changelings far above staring down at them, smiling back he waved to them then flipped back down.

As he flipped back he heard Derpy yelling “ AHHHH… I'm falling!!” Will shook his head.

“Dangit Derpy no wonder no pony takes you seriously...You're a pegasus Derpy use your wings!”

“Ohh….” She looked sheepishly towards him then spread her wings and caught the wind. The force throwing her past Will as he continued falling an audible whoosh as Derpy past by letting him know she was fine. Derpy glided upward for a second then flapping her wings she stabilized ehr decent and fell like a feather. Will though continued to fall like a rock, Twilight wasn’t doing much better. Looking down he could see the ground coming towards them, arms wide open as if to hug them but he would rather not be hugging the ground any time soon if he could help it. As they were about to hit the ground he launched himself into Twilight. When he felt there bodys connect he focused his mind causing a blue aura to embrace them when it fully encompassed them he said one word and with that a flash blinded them both. A tugging sensation went through him as the teleportation bleed most of the speed away and threw them thirty feet to the right into a bed of hay.

They hit the hay with a big wumph as they disappeared inside of it. Twilight and Will slowly dragged themselves out of the hay some bruises covering their bodies. Looking at them Both will proudly said “Any landing you can walk away from is a good one...eh?” Trying to be positive but failing miserably as Twilight rolled her eyes. While They gathered what was left of themselves Derpy glided over to them landing quit gracefully you could say as she too crashed into the hay bush

“I”m good…” Derpy said her head popping out from the top” Uhh I don’t think they look happy…

“Who?” Twilight asked “oh, them” she said as she turned around her ears drooping.

They were now surrounded by hundreds if not a thousand changelings. All of them growling and hissing at the three of them. The mass of glossy black changelings continually moving as some shifted around or others took flight, the rest slowly advancing towards them
“Hmmm this a predicament… guess hiding won't work anymore will it? Well I guess it’s time to get to business.”

Will loosened his cloak with his magic then let it be swept back by the wind. With a final gust of wind the cloak was ripped off of him and sent careening off the cliff. What was revealed was a big white stallion,taller than she maybe even taller than her brother, his cutie-mark though is what caught Twilight's eye a cutie mark she had never seen before. What stood proudly on his flank was a blue shield with 4 stars surrounding it creating a square shape around the shield and a sword in the middle, with wings sprouting out from the hilt. The mark Twilight was looking at puzzled her, what could this mark mean or stand for, but she just couldn't figure it out and not enough time to.

“This way” Will said, smiling a look of enthusiasm in his eyes then ran right towards the changelings. Twilight reached out after him but with current situation what was she supposed to do, she sighed and followed after him. Will ran towards the black mass of exoskeleton bugs. The changelings stopped, staring at the large pony now rushing them stood dumbfounded as Will drew nearer. But before he ran right into them with their toothy grins as they noticed there was no way these three ponies weren’t going anywhere. He turned and ran parallel to the horde of bugs. Will heading straight for a medium sized wall between them and the city beyond. As they ran to it the changelings smelled something was amiss and advanced towards picking up speed, but still confident that they would capture these three for their master.

Will reached the fifteen foot wall first and began to cast a spell as the other two caught up to him. When they did Twilight was lifted out into air on a blue platform Caching Twilight and even the changelings off guard. Twilight dropping down to her knees to steady herself from the sudden change of movement. Once they had cleared the wall Will yelled “Jump!” leaping towards the other side and Twilight less hesitant than before jumped moments after. Both of them landing on the ground a few feet below with minor bruises, Derpy on the other hand just floated over the wall and soon the Changelings now realising what had happened soon too would fly over the wall after them.

“I think we should go” Derpy said as she looked behind her at the now enraged horde of bugs.
Taking in his surroundings Will nodded “ I would think so” Turning and galloping down the empty street Twilight and Derpy following right behind. Will lead them down the side street onto one of the main avenues and turned left. After galloping down the avenue they reached the housing district. Will turning off the main road into one of the side roads, looked back to make sure the others were with him then continued into the maze of houses before them.

When they had turned the corner into the housing district Twilight could see clearly that the Changelings were already on there way, not far from them which worried Twilight because there was no way out. Not on this side of the city.

“How are we …” She paused to take a deep breath”Going to get out of here there's no gate over here” Will looked over to her answered.

“Yes but we aren’t getting out of here that way. Those gates were sealed!”

They reached the interior of the housing district as well as the twisting and winding cobblestone alleyways. Their hoofbeats echoing off of the nearby buildings. The buildings Twilight passed abandoned, many falling apart and others beyond recognition. As she passed through the cramped alleys she could only imagine who used to live here, Families, couples and many others. But now they only stand there empty, mold and decay their only inhabitants, their windows shattered just like the hearts of those who had to leave their peaceful lives behind.
Twilight soon lost track of which direction they were heading as the buildings sagged over them obscuring the outside world as if ashamed of their current conditions. Will changing their direction every few seconds going down this alley and that alley. All the while they could hear not far behind the changelings hissing, echoing off the walls and down towards them.

Will made a sharp turn onto a side alley catching Twilight off guard, Almost sliding past the almost overgrown entrance into an older alley way covered in vines and plants of all sorts. As they progressed through the overgrowth she noticed one thing they were heading to a dead end. Their doom!

“It's a dead end were trapped!” Twilight said slowing down a little unsure whether to turn around now or to keep going.

“I know that, but its also are way out! Will said over his shoulder as he ran right into the wall… Twilight closed her eyes her ears pulled back in anticipation. Waiting for the loud smack of the Stallion hitting the wall full speed was painful, but she heard nothing. She didn't even hear his hoof steps anymore.

Twilight opened her eyes and he was gone, all that was left was Derpy, herself and the hundreds of Changelings hissing as they slowly made their way towards them. She looked about frantically trying to find Will but there was no other place to go but past her.

“Just run at it Twilight like this” Derpy then demonstrated but not by running but diving into the wall and then disappearing as if the wall had swallowed her up.

“Derpy?” Twilight waited but no response came “By Celestia's Sun I hope this works!” She said galloping full speed at the wall. As she neared it all her instincts screamed for her to stop but she kept going, closing her eyes and cringing she waited for the inevitable. But to her surprise nothing, no impact, no horrible squishing noise just the unforgettable cold feeling running through her body, then before she knew it she stumbled through to the other side, falling onto the wooden floor of a darkened room.

Watching from high above on a dark cloud were a pair of eyes looking down at where minutes before the White stallion who bested its minions got away.

One of the bugs came up to the cloud and Hissed “ They got away … should we chase after them my Sir?”

“No but I believe I know where they head…”

“Then let me go after them…”

The figure in the cloud interrupted him …”NO… let them be for they are walking into their doom as we speak… they will not survive the night!” With that the dark Figure began to laugh in amusement. It’s plan coming together quite nicely, a crescent grin crossing its face. “ ..yes..they won't survive the night...hahahahaha…”

Twilight laid there for sometime catching her breath… “What… was that? That was no teleportation i've seen before” Twilight said Slowly standing up and looking about “Where… are we?”

“You ok Twilight?” Derpy said as Twilight stood.

“Ya…” She looked about the dimly lit room she was standing in a musty smell reaching her nose. With the dim light Twilight could see scattered across the room tables flipped over, others still standing, some even had candles burning on them. Around the tables a few chairs stood erect watching over the now deserted inn. The candles even with so few of them threw shadows around like the trees in a storm. Their shadows forever moving dancing in the light.

Will stood off to the side where a fireplace laid dormant sleeping in its cold stone frame.There was silence for sometime until Will began to mumble something. Looking over Twilight watched Wills horn began to glow as he chanted, the light produced throwing more shadows across the room. But as quickly as the light had flared up it dimmed. As the light dimmed the fireplace seemed to shimmer like a curtain, and once the light finally died the curtain had disappeared. As well as the only way for the changelings to follow them.

Once the spell was complete Will walked over to a table and sat onto one of the few remaining chairs. Then taking in deep breaths he closed his eyes. It was another minute before he reopened them. “Told you we were going to make it Derpy…” Twilight looked from Will to Derpy and saw Derpy smile a little as she too sat down catching her breath.

Twilight following their lead sat down as well and sighed. Then began to think about other things on her mind such as where could the others be or whether they had escaped. Hundreds of questions quickly rushing threw her head just as if the morning rush hour had just begun. But as time elapsed and many question past there was one that stuck, how did Derpy and Will meet, she had never seen him, well not with Derpy or in Ponyville before. So where did their paths cross?

“May I ask a question? Twilight looking back and forth between the two of them.

“Sure, better now than ever...hehe”

“Okay, well how to put this… How did you two, get to know each other. Not to be rude but I’ve never seen you before in Ponyville or anywhere for that matter.

“None taken…” Will smiling weakly.

“We meet a long time ago…” Derpy began but Will cut in.

“Not that long ago…” Twilight turned towards him and saw the smile had disappeared. Twilight a little taken back for asking but Will hadn’t notice “Derpy met me when she was only a small filly…” Will looked to Derpy then Twilight “...back then I didn't know she was even there not before we met…”

“What do you mean?”

He stood and walked over to the candles and looked into the dancing flames “It was late at night when I was on a lake not far from here, alone no pony in sight a perfect place to practice my magic… “He snuffed out the candle then moved to the next “I was in the works of a weather spell… a thunderstorm. A spell that would help bring water to areas of drought, when a force stronger then I took over the spell. Ripping it from my grasp and unleashed the devastating storm on the surrounding area…”He blew out another candle the room growing ever so darker “ I tried to contain and dispel the storm but the force driving it was to strong for me to stop it outright. The only way was to let it run it’s course so I did...”

“You mean that Horrible storm that we had when I was a student at the castle? The one that baffled the pegasi who did not expect a storm of that power to grow out of hand on their watch… let alone wasn’t scheduled.”

Will nodded “ And that day I thought no one would get hurt. The reason why I chose that location, with no pony living nearby the storm would just blow itself out allowing me to dispel it, but I was wrong… and It was that night I met Derpy only a fille... “ He sighed and looked back towards Twilight “... And I regret that day…” he blew out the second to last candle “... Because I'm responsible for what Derpy is today … I’m the reason she has that cutie-mark…” he motioned to Derpy’s flank.

“So you're the reason she is who she is today? How is that possible I thought that wasn’t how cutie marks worked...” Will noded lowering his head.

“That night she had flown over the lake when the storm had gotten out of control and when I noticed lightning striking towards the water with snake like reflexes but never actually hitting the water like it should have. I pulled out my scope and saw her falling out of the sky spiraling to her doom in the watery depths below, the crashing waves caused by the howling wind deadly to any who entered them…” He closed his eyes and didn't continue for a few seconds “I tried to get to her in time but she hit the water first and I had to dive in after her but it was too late her cutie-mark had already appeared … 7 bubbles to stand for her luck and her Clumsiness… I brought her to shore. I had saved her… but I can't forgive myself for what I gave her… she woke after the storm had settled down and moved away. I brought her home where I left her in care of her parents then raced back to the storm to try to contain the magical forces driving it…” Will choking up stopped and stood there quietly a tear appearing on the edge of his eye” After that day I visited on a monthly bases to check up on her. But we soon became friends...even after I explained to her what had happened…” Derpy stood and trotted over to Will laying her hoof on his shoulder “When she grew old enough I brought her with me on some of the Experiments I did as an experience for her to make up for what had happened to her. I promised then when she was still a young filly that I would Try to fix what I had done to her… and I still am looking for a way to fix what's happened” He blew out the last Candle and the room grew Darker still until only the light of the moon rising outside could be seen flooding in from the windows.

“I’m sorry Derpy…”

“I know” Derpy giving Will a hug with her wing. Will then cleared away his tears and stepped towards the door.

“We best be on are way, to gather supplies and your things Twilight” Will walked over to the door and opened it waited for a second then walked through into the street beyond. Derpy turned towards the door then stopped…

“I don’t blame him for what happened long ago… it felt like destiny when I woke on the beach and saw him looking over me…” her head drooping” What happened… strengthened me into the mare I am today. A kind hearted, muffin loving mare named Derpy and I don't regret anything that has happened…” With that she walked out the door leaving Twilight alone to contemplate what Derpy had said.

“Wow Derpy really has grown from her usual self, shes not even scared to show she's different anymore… wow … I can't believe … Destiny she say... “ Twilight couldn’t Believe what just happened but before she could think more Derpy popped back in calling her to come along “... She’s grown because of Will supporting her… If only I knew that back then…” She stopped talking to herself when she heard a noise from inside the house. But when she looked around and saw nothing she got chills running down her spine and thought it best to catch up to the others . But unbenounced to her as she left, one set of glowing red eyes stared after her through a window... then disappeared.

Twilight galloped onto the street outside running into Will who stood there in the middle waiting but looking off towards the Dark cloud festering above the distant castle. Twilight ran right into him breaking his concentration And pushing him into the ground “Ow “

“Sorry I didn’t see you there” Twilight grind a little while she stood up and helped him to his hooves.

“You really need to stop doing that”” he said smiling then he turned back towards the mountain “I don't like that cloud over there too suspicious looking to be just any storm cloud…” Twilight looked towards the castle and saw it too and wondered the same thing whether it was real or was it magically made?

“We best get going though before it gets too dark” Will nodded off towards the center of town. When Twilight finally payed attention to where she was she asped and opened her mouth and closed it repeatedly. “Yes Ponyville…”

“But...but we are miles away from the castle how is that possible I can't barely teleport 30 feet not Miles on end!”

“A spell I learned Awhile back allows me to move faster and to pass major obstacles and is a great spell to get away from things” He said proudly.

They began to trot down the street towards the direction of the city hall The town hadn't changed much except for some fallen walls and broken windows here and there. The houses were scattered in no particular fashion Stores were closer to the road going through the town but too, scattered about the houses.

The city hall on the other hand was a tall two story building smack dab in the middle of town towering over the smaller houses and stores around it. It was surrounded by columns and A Double door entrance facing towards their path they were walking. It was painted White and blue Making a beautiful building, but now is dull and fading from the miss use .

The three of them turned right Towards Twilight's home the old Ponyville Library Where she spent most of her time here with her friends when everything was normal and not thrown out of balance by what has happened the past weeks.

They Were halfway to Twilight Tree when The three stopped in their tracks when not far behind they heard a massive creature yelling out in Amusement at what he had found...three ponies for dinner.

“Ummm What was that….” Twilight said slowly looking at WIll.

“Something you don't want to meet…” He turned his back to the way they were going and then looked at the two of them” Go… Derpy make sure she gets to the Tree and Don't let her out Keep her in there…” Will Galloped Off away from them ”I got a score to settle”He said to himself,

Twilight tried to follow But Derpy got in the way “Derpy move!”

“No Will said go and when he means go… HE MEANS GO!” Derpy said Grabbing Twilight and Half dragging her with her. Twilight saw
Derpy's eyes and saw what Derpy was thinking and she knew that she had been through this before and Knew best for them to leave now

“I hope he will be ok…”

“He always is…”Derpy said Smiling trying to lighten the mood “I hope…”

They reached the tree as they heard a monstrous roar from the other side of town. They entered the main room and Quickly barred the door and then hid behind the giant oak table still standing in the middle of the room. One of the few remaining furniture that is. The place was covered in dust, and so Derpy sneezed quite often not helping their current predicament. The inside of the tree was covered in dust, well the reason Derpy was sneezing uncontrollably but that was besides the point.

Across the floor books lay scattered here and there as if somepony had been looking for something and in quite a hurry, as there were mounds of books every where. Thrown aimlessly with little care for them, but if Twilight wasn't currently hiding from whatever was outside she would have tracked down who had done this to her precious library. It made her furious but she stopped herself and noticed that there were no longer any noises not even the rustling of the leaves, nothing left but silence.

“Derpy…” Twilight whispered “Do you think…?” she looked at Derpy and saw the look on her face. Twilight knew Derpy was thinking the same thing as she was .

They waited for some time and became restless right before Twilight was getting enough courage to go out there and look she heard hoof beats coming down the street.

“Hid!” Derpy whispered hoarsely. They quickly scrambled into their hiding spots and waited. The hoof beats came closer every second, getting slowly louder and louder. Twilight began to sweat when the hooves stopped outside the tree. The latch rose slowly and the door creaked open by the wind , Twilight tensed ...ready to pounce.

Twilight heard the hooves touch wood and launched herself forward “Twilight? Derpy, you guys ok? Twilight tried to stop herself but she was already in the air. Luckily she missed Will by a few centimeters but ended up crashed into the opposite wall and sliding downward into a pile of books. All Will saw was a flash of purple and the force of the wind flying by him.

Twilight rose out of the pile of books smiling sheepishly. “Sorry thought you were… what was that thing? Twilight asked shaking her head to clear the fogginess in her vision.

“Something from the past… a monster of brute force… a Minotaur…” When Will looked over at Twilight she looked like she was going to kill him” No, no not the ones you know … these guys are twice as big and are sworn to do their evil masters bidding until their last dying breath. Sadly to say… they don't die … the weapon that could kill them was lost long ago.” When he finished he looked back to Twilight and this time she at least didn’t look like she was going to strangle him.

“How were you able to defeat it?” Twilight asked as he did just mention they couldn't be defeated. When her vision had cleared she stepped out of the books gingerly as to not destroy or hurt any of them. When she finally stumbled free she noticed for the first time Will was covered in bruises and bleeding in multiple places “Are you ok?!”

“Yes just minor cuts… ahhh never mind that hurts “ Will said as he tried to sit down next to another pile of books “I should be ok soon though” Will grimacing as he finally sat down” I'll use a healing spell…” Waving Twilight off” As for the minotaur the only thing I could do was send it back where It came from … they… Are not that bright. These ones not the ones you know of… these ones are easily tricked but hard to catch to send back to their Prison…” Will pausing has he raising his hoof up to stop Derpy from trying to help him “ I got it” he said grimacing as he moved his hoof. Will lowering his head, prayer style as he muttered a string of incoherent words, his horn beginning to glow a bright blue and slowly Twilight in awe watched his cuts heal and bruises disappear.

“I've never heard of this Prison... “ Twilight stated, still staring at where his cuts had just been moments before.
“Not many do” He paused and saw she was staring and coughed bring her head up her skin blushing a light hue. “... The reason I know of it’s existence is because I was the one guarding it when all this happened…” Will motioning with his hoof their current surroundings “I'm one of the guards chosen by Celestia for that job specifically… very hush hush to not panic the citizens of Equestria of such dangerous creatures being kept so close at hand…”

“So you are a Guard of Celestias?

“Was is the word you’re looking for… not anymore I'm now your guide to finding your friends and that reminds me you need to gather your things that's why we came here in the first place… Derpy , please will you find us food?” he asked looking to Derpy who was currently messing with a pendulum that was sitting on the table

“Sure” She said happily finally having a job to do and skipped out the door.

“Ok gather your things Twilight While I … rest for a minute the healing isn't a quick process and I still feel a rib being mended and would rather not break it more by moving…” He said shifting around into a more comfortable position.

Derpy Skipped outside and trotted down the street thinking to herself that she was going to do her best “ Ok Derpy no fooling around Will gave me a job and I'm going to do it correctly… for once.” She said to herself confidently.

Derpy looked up to the clear skies above, to the bright moon that watched over her as she walked down the street. “I hope this won't be to hard…” looking up at the moon as if she was having a conversation with it. “Yes I really do hope so…”

She passed many destroyed cottages on her way, many she remembered well as places where many ponies would gather like the Inn and other stores that would usually be bustling with pony activity. The silence and complete desertedness made Derpy sad all her friends gone no where in sight “Well I hope they won't mind me taking some of there stuff then would they?”

Derpy began humming a song to lighten the mood as she floated down the street looking into store windows and other places picking up jars and other useful things that she thought Will would like.

Ten minutes later she had made up a bag full of food and other trinkets she thought would be useful. She was about to turn back when a thought struck her “ I never made Will those Muffins… I totally forgot because of what's been happening “ she thought about it for some time then had an idea “I'll go to pinkiepies bakery and make them then! “ She skipped away towards the bakery humming a tune she knew well and smiling.

“Hmmm what's taking Derpy so long?” Will said to himself as he looked out the window down the road. He looked for a few more seconds before returning his gaze back to the inside of the old library. It was sparsely decorated few pictures of the six lay about, Will watched Twilight grab one of the pictures and putting it into her bag. He noticed all the books she had packed, he chuckled shaking his head as he walked over to her.

“You won't need all these books Twilight …” he took out the books and left certain ones but also went through some of the piles throwing books left and right which he saw pissed Twilight off so he tuned it down and placed the one’s he didn’t need onto the shelves. He grabbed one from the pile next to him and floated it over to Twilight she just looked at him like how will this help.

“Why would I need myths and legends?”

“Because their pretty real… What did you think I was fighting out there, kittens?” When he said that , it really made him chuckle, the look on her face just priceless.

“You're telling me all this is real even the most dangerous monsters in myth and legend!?”

“Ya…” sucking in some air “... not all the myths and legends are completely accurate but… more or less every single creature in there is pretty real just haven't been seen for over a hundreds years give or take”.

She just stood there trying to process this then she began to pace back and forth talking to herself about how this could be possible or how she was wrong or someone else he wasn’t sure. Will just laid the book on the table next to her bag and shook his head he wasn’t going to get involved in her think process. Will returned to the window once more waiting for the return of his Friend Derpy.
About a half hour later Derpy came bursting through the door. What followed her was a smell a really good smell coming from Derpy's bag. Twilight who was finishing her packing dropped the last book back onto the table. Twilight’s mouth watering uncontrollably as her Stomach began a whole orchestra of sounds. Will who was upstairs looking for something poked his head from the stair well.

“What did you find?

“Some useful things and other supplies but also something special…something I said I would make you!” Derpy said excitedly, feeling quite proud of herself. Will walked over to her and waited patiently in front of her. Derpy reached into her bag and produced object about the size of Derpy's hoof, but before they could see it she put it into Will's mouth. It caused Will to flinch but he stopped himself and slowly chewed the taste of it overwhelming his taste buds.

“Mmmmm …”he said with his mouth full “...so…”swallowing and then continuing “..this is how Muffins taste… their delicious Derpy…” he said “...you made them?” he said taking another muffin from her and eating it. Derpy also gave some to Twilight who scarfed them down so quick it made Derpy laugh seeing Twilight enjoying her muffins so much.

“Yup all by myself” Derpy then took a muffin for herself and sat down to eating it.

The three of them indulged themselves in the muffins and some sider Derpy had found. After they had their full, Twilight got the myths and legends book and began reading it over. Will sat happily full and satisfied staring up to the ceiling above them and Derpy just played around with the bag pulling things out and then putting them back in.

About twenty minutes later Derpy fell asleep and Twilight's eyes began to droop. she started to yawn as she slowly nodded off to sleep. Will walked over from his spot on the window and took the book from Twilight and put it away in her bag, then he put one of the blankets over her. He watched over them for sometime until he knew they were fast asleep.

Will opened the door slightly just enough for him to slip off into the cool night. He walked away from the tree then stopped taking a deep breath, letting it out slowly. Will turned and muttered a few words, his horn glowed dimly in the night. A bolt of blue energy shot out of it towards the tree it hit the ground a foot away from the door and as it did a large sphere spread out into a giant bubble around the old library. It glowed dimly after it had finished surrounding the tree. To keep them safe inside while he was gone. Ment more to stop anyone from entering but not exiting.

“Sweet dreams you two…” Will said as he turned and continued his walk down the dirt road.

He reached the center of town a few minutes later. He stood in front of the hall admiring what was left of it. Looking up to the moon now high in the sky he exhaled “Well it’s time” then his body began to shimmer as his horn began to glow brightly, his body swirled and then it popped out of existence with a flash. On a nearby hill Will popped back into existence. He turned and slowly trotted to the Apple farm but now nature's farm as underbrush had taken up residency with the older apple trees.

He walked right into the field of trees and levitated one of the apples from off a nearby tree and took a bite. He savored the taste as he took another bite from it. The pungent apple smell mingling with the early dew that was now forming across the leaves. He looked up to the stars but at a particular one, a star shining brighter than the rest right next to the moon almost hidden from view. Almost impossible to find unless you knew it was there. His gazed turned back to the ground as one of the trees rustled. Looking to the sky once more he saw little movement in the clouds and knew then it wasn’t the breeze but something else causing that tree to move.

He noticed this but kept walking in his original direction and right towards the tree that had moved. As he walked underneath it he said “A nice night isn’t it…”he said to no one in peticular“... To take a stroll under the silver moonlight and eat these delicious apples that shine brightly from the same lights above...” He heard the rustling once more and smiled as a dark shadow flew over him.

“So it is you” A figure said as it landed in front of Will, dust rising as the figure had landed. After the dust settled standing in front of Will was a Hippogriff and one he knew well. “... I heard you teleporting in did you get them out?” The hippogriff said with a concerned look on his face.

“Its nice to meet you to Jack…” He continued walking, he past the hippogriff as iff he hadn’t been there the whole time “...and yes, they're fine they're down in Ponyville.”

“So you made it out fine?” Jack said following Will.

“Ya… It noticed though which I thought it would…” he said looking up to the castle off in the distance.

“Yes but you put them in grave danger coming here. With all them monsters running about” he said looking about like one of them was about to jump out and maul him.

“I know but that was the only way to make sure it didn't follow right away… I took out the brother already I just have to worry about his younger brother, haven't found him yet”

“Well I... hope I don't have to stick around when you do…” Jack said a little fear creeping into his voice “Oh Will… I found what you asked me to find. But its not realy good news though…”

“I didn't expect it to be… You should know first hand mate... Continue” Will said looking over to Jack as they walked back to the edge of the orchard.

“They have her element in a cave with Spike... but…”

“But?”

“...He ain't the usual Spike…. he’s grown…”

“I see well we will have to burn that bridge when we get there… Thank you Jack Let me know when you find anything else” Jack nodded and quickly exited the orchard running forward, leaping up into the sky. Jack circled once and then shot off to the east away from the castle, Ponyville and the Eterna forest where Will was heading next.

He looked once more to the stars then teleported back to where he was minutes before at the main hall, but when he returned to the hall he stopped and just stood there, smiling.

“So we meet again little one” A deep voice said from behind.

Will turned about and standing not twenty five feet away stood the biggest, the smartest and the meanest of them all… Kargar the Destroyer his hulking body towering over Will. Kargar was four of Will stacked on top of each other. But Kargar was still as ugly as ever with his toothy grin showing in the moonlight. Surprisingly Kargar prided himself in higen so at least he was presentable. Especially if he was going to try and settle a long score. Will stood there watching Karagar leaning back and forth switching his weight between his giant feet, a telltale sign he was he for a fight and he wasn’t going to be taking no for an answer.

“Well It has been a long time mate...Glad to see your still wearing that scar I gave ya...thought you would have gotten rid of that a while ago.”

“Well I like to remember as well as show that I’m a battle worn Warrior...you should know that yourself Todesritter or should I call you Engel der Zerstörung.”

“Witch ever one you prefer” Will said, smiling more.

“ Well I didn’t come here to talk little one, as you can see…” The Minotaur grinning as he heaved a giant axe from his back the handle as thick as Will’s legs and the blade the size of a Wagon. The light glinted off of the blade causing the blade to almost seem to shimmer as if it never stopped moving.

“ If you didn’t come to talk then why did you come?”

“To settle a score Todesritter” and so the Minotaur charged. It’s axe coming down in a long wide arc, straight for Will’s head.

This one is one of the longest of my Chapters that I have written. I have been editing this all week since last Friday so please do enjoy.
