Prologue
A pony moves through a dark alley in Canterlot. The pony's mane is cerulean colored and her coat is yellow. Judging by the ragged breath and the sound of the panicked wheeze, the pony is a mare and has been running for a short while already.
The moon was full and slightly orange due to the thin layer of smoke in the air. Canterlot’s sky was dominated by chimneys this far from the center of the city. The alleys between the numerous factories of the great city were usually dark during daytime due to the height of the buildings and the smoke they pump out during the day. But this night, the smoke had cleared a bit and allowed moonlight to hit the streets.
After running through a junction, an alley, turn, an alley, over a road and another alley, the mare reached a cliché dead end. With the walls too high and smooth to be climbed over, the mare quickly searches for an escape. She starts panicking as the only thing she can find is a dumpster.
“No, no, no, no, NO!”
She hears hoof steps behind her. The mare turns around to see a silhouette of a pony. A gunshot echoes trough the empty streets.
“AAAAAHH!”
The mare screams and clasps the stub that was their left foreleg. Bone is visible in the middle of the torn flesh and blood of the stub.
The shadow approaches the bleeding pony, holding a shotgun with smoke leaving the barrel. The shadow turns out to be another mare, a mare with purple mane, and lavender fur. She is wearing a dark purple cloak. Her hooves have some sort of steel and brass clockwork gauntlets with pistons and gears leading under the cloak.
"Lemon, it's time. Let me do this quickly and I will spare you from further pain" the purple mare speaks.
“Tw-Twilight…”,the injured pony pleads.
“Hm?” Twilight Sparkle responds as she searches something from under her cloak.
“Twilight please! I didn’t want this! I didn’t want to do it to her!” The pony half-yells.
Twilight pulls a dagger from under her cloak. The metal is silver and glows a slight blue color. The blade has some sort of writing going down the middle of the blade.
“Of course you didn’t, but when you get thirsty Lemon, it’s not really you is it?” Twilight says.
"I- I've been trying to stop myself! Please!" Lemon Hearts cries.
Twilight trots closer.
"It has never worked Lemon, never in the history of vampirism. You CANNOT control yourself! And now because of you, I'll have to bury two friends." Twilight says as she brings the dagger to Lemon's chest.
At this, Lemon Hearts reacts quite aggressively. She punches Twilight in the face with her still whole arm. Twilight is thrown back by the punch. With her muzzle bleeding, she gets up.
“See what I mean?” Twilight says as she pulls out her shotgun.
Lemon’s eyes glow red as she snarls at Twilight, bearing her fangs. The Vampire prepares to leap at the immediate danger and crouches.
"The longer you struggle, the longer you will have to suffer Lemon."
Twilight aims at Lemon head with her shotgun. She pulls the trigger.
Lemon reacts fast and jumps off the way of the first shot, but tumbles as she lands on only three legs. Twilight takes advantage of this and fires. Lemon screeches as the joint to her right hind leg is torn open. With blood pooling under her, her breathing slows down and her screams die down with it.
Twilight the proceeds to jam the silver dagger to her other foreleg. Then she slams Lemon’s head at the alleys wall. Twilight suddenly screams in rage as she starts punching Lemon’s face into bloody pulp. Twilight slams Lemons face, disconnects one of her fangs and breaks her muzzle. After a dozen punches she finally stops. Then Twilight pulls the dagger out of Lemon’s foreleg and stabs it into her heart.
Lemon screams with her final breath as her heart is pierced and her curse is broken. After a few violent twitches, Lemon Hearts finally falls limp. Twilight breaths heavily for a few moments. She has tears in the corner of her eyes. Her childhood memories flash before her eyes.

She would not weep for her, she wasn’t her friend anymore. Her friend died the day she was bitten.
