The Moneysworth law offices, a prestigious and expensive office owned by some of Equestria's top lawyers. Handling cases from parking tickets to worker's compensation.
Today Moneysworth, the head attorney, a blue stallion with a sleek black mane, sat with two rather tall stallions dressed like half a barbershop quartet claiming to have been cheated out of a bet. The office was dark and covered wall to wall with bookcases. Flim, the clean shaven of the two, spoke first.
"It's just terrible!" He exclaimed while pushing a file closer to Moneysworth. "We had an honest agreement with an entire crowd of witnesses who saw, and at the end the Apple family went back on their word! Granny Smith bet the farm, and said whoever won would be the rightful owner."
"I see," Moneysworth said examining the file. "This is the Apple family from Ponyville correct? The one that makes the best cider in Equestria? the one that Applejack, the Element of Honesty owns?"
"Ha!" Flam laughed. "Not too honest if she won't even hold her family to their word."
Moneysworth raised an eyebrow. "So that's a yes then?" He opened the file and peered through it. There wasn't much, only the names of those who witnessed the event.
"Err, yes sir," Flam answered.
Moneysworth put the file down and looked at the two.
"And what to you expect me to do exactly? Get you the farm from one of the most loved families in Equestira with just some witness testimony, if they'll agree to give it in the first place?" Moneysworth gave the two a frown. "I'm not a miracle worker. I'll need more than that."
"Well, what if Princess Twilight gave testimony?" Flim said with a nervous smile.
Moneysworth gave them a curious look. "With that, any judge would likely agree. Since this is a civil case and not a criminal one, we only need fifty one percent of the case in our favor to win. How do you propose you get her to testify? I doubt she'd be eager to stand against her friend."
"Don't worry about a thing," Flam said with a smile. "We'll handle it easy."
Moneysworth smiled. "Good, now contact me if she agrees to testify, if not, we don't have much of a case."
