Scroll Pen was not a typical son of a retired decorated military officer: not extremely athletic or sportive, deep into books, tabletop RPGs and videogames, and having sights for a peaceful career instead of serving the country. To put it simply, more like a nerd, than a future soldier.

Not fitting in with his coevals at Cloudsdale High, he asked his father for a transfer to another school, and found himself in Canterlot High. Without a trail of expectations that arose from his father's career, he felt more comfortable in there since the first minute inside... until a chance encounter with Rainbow Dash, the local sports star, added some confusion (and irritation) into his life.

Scroll Pen believed that he could not like the girl who tended to dislike academic advancements, dismiss things like books as "too nerdy" or "for eggheads" (yet read Daring Do) and sometimes display arrogance, obnoxiousness and egotism. But, smart as he was, he could still be wrong, and life was about to prove that...
