Chapter One
The darkness within: The Demon's return.
Chapter 1.
The winter weather outside was cold and frightful a heavy snowstorm had been blowing for most of the day. The sky was as grey as used charcoal. Outside, it was negative 20 degrees with a minus 40 wind chill in the air. Ice clung to the school's roof like barnacles on a whale. Inside the school, however it was warm, cozy and peaceful. Sunset Shimmer sat in her classroom looking out a window watching the snowfall. The storm that was raging outside to her reminded her of the storm that once raged within her heart. Sitting across from her sat Fluttershy a beautiful, peaceful girl more timid than most people her age yet she had the biggest kindest heart that Sunset had ever seen in a person of the age of eighteen.
“I can’t believe she is sitting here next to me, her Fluttershy, she is so beautiful”. Sunset thought to herself her attention still drawn to the storm raging outside.
In Sunset’s mind she had never seen someone as gorgeous or as comely as Fluttershy was. That is except for Princess Celestia, Sunset Shimmer had been Princess Celestia’s student once many years ago but, had turned to a more darker path. That very same path sent her on whirlwind of destruction and self absorbed behavior. Sunset recalled how she had been all set to conquer all of Equestria as she sat at her desk watching the storm pass by. That was before she was stopped by Princess Twilight Sparkle at the Fall Formal her defeat left her both mentally and nearly physically broken as well. That was eight months ago.
“I can’t believe it has only been a few weeks since Twilight was here?” Thought Fluttershy as she looked over to Sunset watching her look out the nearby window. “I hope we don’t have to face such evil like that again”. Fluttershy whispered to herself while she continued to look at Sunset.
Fluttershy had fallen in love with Sunset Shimmer to her Sunset was everything she ever wanted in a girlfriend. She was strong, beautiful and brave. But Sunset was also unsure of herself and didn’t really open up to anyone least of all to her. So Fluttershy found herself hoping that Sunset felt the same way as she did about her. Little did she know or realize Sunset did feel the same way but, like Fluttershy she too was to afraid to tell her. Fluttershy turned her attention away from Sunset when she heard.
“Ms. Shimmer” the teacher tried to get Sunsets attention. “Ms. Shimmer please, pay attention”.
Fluttershy quickly looked back to Sunset only to see that she wasn’t paying attention at all. She quickly tried to get Sunsets attention by elbowing her in the side. Sunset was to lost in her own thoughts to feel Fluttershy elbowing her. Fluttershy watched as Sunset let out a soft sigh closed her eyes then slowly reopened them. Not wanting Sunset to get in trouble Fluttershy quickly jabbed her as hard as she could in the side causing the red and yellow haired girl to let out a painful yelp. Much to the amusement of the class who all laughed at Sunset’s expense. Sunset quickly turned her attention back to the class seeing that the teacher was trying to get her attention she quickly responded with.
“HUH? What?"
The teacher much to Sunset’s disappointment didn’t look the bit amused by this. Quickly realizing her mistake and taking notice of all the other students laughing at her. Sunset sank back into her chair a slight reddish blush showed on the bridge of her nose. Fluttershy giggled lightly to herself. She saw that Sunset looked more embarrassed than upset by the students laughing at her. The bell rang and Sunset got up to leave stopping when the teacher replied to her sternly.
“Sunset Shimmer,” The teacher called to her “please come to my desk before you leave class today”.
Sunset hung her head low but, did as she was instructed to do. Fluttershy stood by her own desk watching silently hoping that Sunset wasn’t in too much trouble. Getting to the desk she let out a forced sigh as the teacher replied to her with.
“I know you might think that not paying attention in my history class is acceptable Ms. Shimmer! Yet, I can rest assure you that it is not”. The teacher adjusted her glasses before continuing “Therefore if I catch you doing this again Ms. Shimmer, you will get a week's worth of detention and extra homework”. She picked up a stack of papers on her desk tapped them lightly then set them back down in an ‘out going’ box. “I fully expect all of my students to take this class seriously if you can not or, will not do this then I ask that you leave my class and not come back. When you come here tomorrow you will either pay attention or you will leave do you understand Ms. Shimmer?"
“Yes Ma’am” Sunset nodded “I do fully understand your requirements Ms. Flower Heart I will try to do better next time I promise”.
“Good” Ms. Flower Heart replied sternly “You are hereby excused and may go home now”.
"Thank you Ms. Flower Heart". Sunset replied quickly
Returning to her desk a few seconds later Sunset thought to herself.
"What is home to me? Just an old worn, run down, building that smells like fish and piss".
She quickly gathered her things headed out the door and down the hallway. Getting to the front of the school several minutes later she was glad to see her friends Rainbow Dash and Applejack standing next to the front the doors waiting for her and Fluttershy. Sunset let out a soft sigh then stood next to Applejack leaning her back against the white grey brick walls of the main entry way. While she stood with her back against the wall she replied to both Applejack and Rainbow with.
“Hey girls, how was your day today”?
“It was awesome as ever of course!” Rainbow beamed a great smile “that is because I am like you know just as awesome as ever!” Rainbow exclaimed throwing her arms up into the air.
“It was a mighty fine day Sunset”. Applejack replied kindly.
“That’s good to hear girls” Sunset looked around for a quick second “So uh, tell me where are Rarity and Pinkie Pie? I thought they were going to meet us out here after school today?"
“You know Rarity, Sunset” Rainbow rolled her eyes “She can’t leave without making sure one of her fashions is at it’s most awesomeness.” Rainbow chuckled lightly “And as for Pinkie she is more than likely in the cafeteria getting ready for A.J’s bake sale tomorrow”.
“I see, well in that case I need to head home I have a lot of homework to do and I want to get to bed early so I can help Applejack with her bake sale tomorrow. I’ll see you girls tomorrow please tell Pinkie and Rarity that I am sorry for not sticking around".
“Will do Sunset” Applejack replied tipping the brim of her hat towards her with a single orange finger. “You get some rest and I’ll stop by your place tomorrow to pick you up”.
Sunset gulped when she heard this she hadn’t told any of her friends that she was homeless and living in an abandoned run down, factory on the outskirts of town. To her friends they all thought she lived in an apartment ten blocks away from the school.
“N..no there is no need to pick me up Applejack. I will be fine getting here on my own really I will.” She replied nervously.
“Hey Sunset are you sure about that?” Rainbow injected “I mean it's like no big deal if A.J. and I stop by your place to pick you up I for one wouldn’t mind seeing your awesome place”.
“I am sure Rainbow besides my place is a...bit messy and I wouldn’t want you girls to think I can’t take care of myself”.
“Well if you are sure then I guess we could let it go at that, but I was kinda hoping to see your pad I know you showed it to Applejack and Fluttershy”.
“I understand that Rainbow but, I am very tired and I really don’t want to have company over right now you...do...understand right?"
“Yeah I do we’re cool".
Getting the answers she was looking for Sunset felt it was time to head home. Turning to face the door she placed her hand onto the blue steel door of the school's main entry way. It felt cold as ice yet to her it was soothing and relaxing at the same time. Pushing the door open she stepped outside into cold biting weather of the raging storm. Seeing how cold it was outside she quickly raised the collar of her coat up against her neck trying to fend off the cold biting wind while it nipped at her bare skin. The chill in the air gave Sunset pause for a second while she looked around. Her vision was slightly masked by all the snow blowing about her. She turned to the right and started to walk home alone. Stopping when she heard a soft voice behind her squeak out from behind her.
“S..Sunset, c..can you hold up for a minute please?"
Sunset stopped for a second turned around to see Fluttershy standing behind her. The custard colored girl was shivering in the cold. The wind blew wildly as Sunset replied to Fluttershy.
“Yes Fluttershy, what is it?"
“Oh,” Fluttershy looked down at her feet for a second the wind blowing her hair over her face. “I..I just wanted..t..to know if you wouldn’t mind..m..me walking..h..home..with yo..you is a..all” The wind blew Fluttershy's hair into her eyes she tightened her collar around her neck like Sunset in an attempt to stave off the numbing cold weather. “I was..th..thinking we could m..maybe..get something to eat to..together once w..we get..h..home".
Sunset could scarcely believe her ears the very girl that she had fallen in love with had wanted to walk home with her. Not really believing what she had just heard she slightly turned her head to the right replying to Fluttershy with a half confused look on her face.
“Wh..whose...home would we be” she gulped slightly as her next words slipped passed her lips. "going to?"
“Um, your house” Fluttershy nearly squeaked out. “I think your house is closer than mine, don’t you think?"
Sunset nodded to her but, did little else. She had wanted nothing more than to walk home with her yet to show her the truth of ‘how’ she was living was too much for her. Without thinking about it or even realizing she was doing it Sunset suddenly turned and bolted down the sidewalk. Leaving Fluttershy standing in front of the school with a dumbfounded look on her face. Fluttershy thought she had seen tears running down Sunsets cheeks as she watched her run down the sidewalk. Looking to her friends who saw the whole thing from inside of the school she timidly replied to them in a half whisper as they came out of the school.
“What, just happened?" Fluttershy looked over to Applejack "Do you think she was upset with me? Is that why she just ran away like that?"
“That girl looked more scared than a rabbit being chased by a fox.” Applejack replied tipping her hat back.
Rainbow looked from Fluttershy then to Applejack and back again before she added in her two cents to the conversation.
“Scared of what A.J.? What could she possibly be so scared that she would leave Fluttershy standing in the cold like that?” Rainbow threw her arms out punching the air with her fist “That was like soooo lame of her to do that!” she exclaimed in anger “I should chase her down and kick her ass for doing that to you Fluttershy.”
Both Fluttershy and Applejack gave Rainbow very disapproving looks, which in turn caused the blue skin athlete to take a step backwards. Before any of them could get in another word edge wise they all heard a very excited high pitched voice say behind them
“Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack I just got the best news ever!!”
Everyone turned to see Pinkie standing behind them with Rarity standing next to her. Pinkie danced around them much to her friends annoyment flapping her arms like a bird.
“What is it Pinkie” Fluttershy shyly asked in her timid voice “What do you want to tell us”
“Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh” Pinkie jumped about happily taking out two cupcakes from out of sheer pure thin air popping both into her mouth. “We’re getting new students in the morning” she squealed like a giddy child “I am so going to throw them a party.” she hopped from one foot to the other waving her arms around throw confetti everywhere. “I’ll call it, ‘Hiya welcome to Canterlot High School it's nice to meetcha’ that’ll work”.
“Uh, Pinkie don’t you think it would be better to let them see how awesome this school is first then throw them a party” Rainbow chimed in.
“What? That is just silly talk!” Pinkie bounced around like a rubber ball “no way I mean what better way to show these new students how great this place is than to throw them a party?”
“Pinkie when are y'all planning on a-throwin' this here party of yurs?” Applejack tipped her hat back a slight bemused look came across her face “y'all know I have that bake sale tomorrow” She stopped Pinkie from bouncing all around Pinkie smiled back widely to her “y'all know my family is a-countin' on that there money right?” Applejack laid a strong but, gentle hand onto Pinkies right shoulder “I mean how am I done supposed to sell my apple fritters ayn' pies with y'all a-throwin' a party on the same day?” Applejack narrowed her eyes to Pinkie who simply smiled back to her happily.
Before Pinkie could reply Rarity chimed in as well.
“Really darling to throw a party for new students is a good thing and while I wouldn’t want to try to prevent you from doing this.”She took out her vanity case from her purse looked at herself in the mirror of it then put it back into her purse before continuing. “To throw a party the same day that your friend is trying to make money for her family is completely unladylike like.”
Pinkie’s hair lost some of its bounciness as she came to realize that Rarity was right. Just as quickly as her hair lost some of its fluffiness it bounced back as she quickly stated to her friends.
“Then I’ll have the part the next day after the bake sale silly.” She tossed out her hands throwing more confetti out covering her friends with the multi colored little bits of paper. “That way Applejack can have her bake sale then I can still throw the party and make sure the new transfer students really like this school.” She squealed happily.
No else said anything on the matter as they all headed home Fluttershy was still thinking about why Sunset would take off the way she did. When Fluttershy got home a half hour later she found her father in the living the room sitting in his favorite recliner reading from the morning's paper. Her mother was in the kitchen making dinner. Setting her backpack down next to the couch she plopped down letting out a soft sigh. Her father got up from his chair motioned her to join the two of them in the kitchen which she did with little hesitation. The family sat at the table eating their dinner in quiet silence each enjoying the company of the other. Once dinner was over Fluttershy headed down stairs to her bedroom taking her backpack with her. She would spend the next three hours doing her homework, once completed she headed to bed.

                        Chapter Two

Chapter Two
Sunset had made her way home safely enough, she had dried her tears with the sleeve of her coat. Getting to her abandoned factory she opened the door headed inside then closed the door locking it tight. Setting her backpack down by the door she knelt down next to it opened it up took out her homework set that down on the ground rezipped her backpack closed and picked up her homework. She headed over to a crate that she used as a makeshift desk in front of the crate was a plastic five gallon bucket which was used as a chair. Sitting on the uncomfortable thing made her really appreciate the soft chairs that she had at CHS. Setting her homework down on the crate she looked to her right and picked up an old oil lamp that she had found three days prior to finding the building she was in now. Taking out a cigarette lighter she had gotten from one of the students at CHS she used it to light the lamp. Thinking to herself as she started her homework.
“I need to find something within this building that I can pawn at the local pawn shop to buy a blanket and mattress.”
An hour went by, then two, within three hours she had completed her homework standing up she stretched cracking her back and neck back into place. Looking around the factory she found her guitar sitting up against a nearby wall. It was shaped in a upside down V and had six strings one of which was broken. It’s whammy bar was bent out of place and the neck itself was cracked down the center. Looking at it she muttered to herself as she reached out a amber colored hand strumming the strings of it a few times.
“I really don’t want to give this up, but I need the money to get a mattress and a sleeping bag. Luna’s hooves this sucks that I have to give this up.”
She recalled finding it in a dumpster outside of school three weeks before Twilight showed and ruined her plans for conquering Equestria. Feeling the metal strings vibrate beneath her fingertips she recalled vividly asking the the music teacher for it and to her surprise she was actually given the guitar by the teacher. Picking it up it felt cold to her skin she closed her eyes letting out another soft sigh as she headed for the door. The storm had stopped raging Sunset was grateful for that being lost in a snowstorm wouldn’t have been any fun at all. It didn’t take her long to find the pawn shop looking at the sign she was grateful to see that they were still open. She opened the door and headed inside the shop.
“Hello I would like to sell my guitar if I may?” Sunset replied to the shop owner placing the guitar onto the glass counter top. “I am hopeful to have someone take a look at it and see how much I can get for it.”
The shopkeeper lowered his glasses to her letting out a snort before he headed over to her location. Looking at the guitar then at her he raised his glasses back up then sternly replied to her with.
“Two fifty is what I am prepared to pay you for this.”
With a confused look on her face Sunset looked back from her guitar then to the shopkeeper as she replied to him.
“Two dollars and fifty cents or, did you mean that you would pay two hundred and fifty?”
“I meant that I would…”
A loud angry voice to the right interrupted the shopkeeper before he could finish his sentence.
“Father! Stop fooling around with this person and leave her alone can’t you see the pain in her eyes!?”
Both Sunset and the shopkeeper turned to see a girl standing to the right of the shopkeeper. She had a very bemused look on her face. Her skin was around her neck she had blue headphones connected to a Mp3 player. Her hair was Moderate cobalt blue with brilliant cyan streaks running through her hair. She had on a white shirt with the same colors as her hair running up and down the sleeves of her shirt. On the bottom of her shirt Sunset saw a eighth note she had on purple pants with pink lightning bolts on them. Walking up to the counter and giving her father a dirty look she motioned with her hand for her father to leave the immediate area. Her father made a hasty retreat to the back of the store while the young woman looked over Sunsets guitar.
“Hey aren’t you D-J Pon 3?” Sunset inquired with a half raised eyebrow.
Not looking up from what she was doing the blue haired girl replied to her by nodding her head.
“What are you doing here?”
Again the blue haired girl didn’t look up to Sunset when she replied to her.
“I work here with my father and I live upstairs in the apartments above the shop.” She flipped the guitar over looking at the back of it “alright I am done looking at this now, would you like to know how much I am willing to pay for this?”
“What oh, yes thank you D-J Pon 3.” Sunset replied with a slight smile on her face.
“Call me Vinyl only those that I D-J for call me ‘D-J Pon 3’ so please just call me Vinyl. Now I am willing to pay you...hmmm oh, heck I’ll give you eighty dollars for this guitar. How does that sound to you Sunset?”
Sunset was a bit shocked to hear that Vinyl knew her name all she could do was nod her reply to her. Vinyl headed over to the cash register pressed a few buttons on it and took out the money handing it to Sunset. Taking the money and putting it into her pocket she turned to leave the shop stopping when she heard Vinyl call out to her.
“Hey just a minute.”
Sunset turned around to see Vinyl holding out her hand in her hand was an extra thirty dollars.
“I...I don’t understand Vinyl why are you giving me this extra money? I mean you have already paid me for my guitar so why offer more than what you said you would pay for it?”
“Because I know what it is like to be in your situation. Now please take this before I come to my senses.”
Reluctantly Sunset took the money thanking her again and headed out of the store Vinyl's father came out from the back of the store with a grim look to his face.
“Just what the hell is wrong with you? That girl’s guitar isn’t worth more than two dollars and you fucking know it girl! And now you go and give her more money how the hell are we supposed to keep this place open if you keep doing shit like this?”
Vinyl grinned while she picked up the guitar carrying it to the back of the shop she replied to her father as she set it carefully down on her repair desk.
“Father, do you remember five years ago when WE lived on the streets? It was shortly after mother passed away?”
Vinyls father followed her into the back of the shop nearly beet red with anger.
“What the fuck does that have to do with the stunt you just fucking pulled here today Vinyl!?”
Taking off her headphones she set them down next to Sunsets guitar then replied to sternly to her father.
“How tired and hungry did we both look before someone actually gave us a helping hand?”
“I don’t see what that has to do with what you just did young lady!” Her father spat back in anger.
“That girl as you dare to call her happens to be a good friend of my guitar student Rainbow Dash.”
Vinyls father threw his arms up into the air screaming in rage at her Vinyl remained steadfast fully standing up to her father.
“WHO THE FUCK CARES IF THAT LITTLE SHIT, IS A FRIEND OF YOUR FUCKING LAME ASS STUDENT YOU STUPID CHILD!?”
Letting out a sigh Vinyl placed her hands over her headphones raised them up to her ears replying to her father before she covered her ears with them.
“First father Rainbow Dash is not lame. Second Sunset is living on the streets in fact she is actually living ten blocks from here. Third if you go and harass her I will make sure the police know about this. Fourth my next D-J gig will pay for the money that I have given to her and more so why don’t you go back to pretending you're a good father and not some damn drunk. Who threw away his whole fucking life because he lost his wife due to his foolishness. Now if you'll excuse me I have a work of art to work on and fully repair.”
With that Vinyl put her headphones over her ears turned the music up and turned away from her father. Her father stormed out of the back of the shop swearing like a drunken sailor. Vinyl swallowed hard letting a few tears slip past her eyes. She didn’t want her father to see her cry and had made a promise to herself that she wouldn’t let the world see that anyone had gotten to her emotionally. While she started to work on Sunsets guitar carefully taking the instrument apart she muttered to herself.
“Don’t worry I’ll have you looking like new in no time then I can return you to your rightful owner.”
Sunset in the meantime had made her way down the street to the local store purchased a instant inflatable air mattress and a mummy style sleeping bag. Heading home she stopped by the grocery store picked up a week's worth of dried goods for food and a rolling cart to carry the rest of her stuff in. Getting back to her place she set up the mattress and sleeping back on the wooden pallet then set the food inside a box nearby for safe keeping. Taking out her magic journal she wrote a short but, quick message to Twilight.
“Dear,
Twilight Sparkle.
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that everything is going well for me I have been working on being a good friend to the girls. They have all accepted me and I plan to help Applejack with her bake sale tomorrow. Well it is late here so, I need to get going. I’ll catch up with you again sometime tomorrow.
Sincerely your, friend
Sunset Shimmer."
She put away her pen and journal went to bed sleeping peacefully throughout the night. The next morning was just as chilly as the previous day had been the storm from the previous day had left much of the city covered in a thick blanket of ice and snow. Getting up Sunset cracked her back and neck back into place again like she had done the previous night after she had gotten her homework done. She ate a quick breakfast then headed to school getting there an hour later she headed inside the school. Stopped by her locker and was about to head to the cafeteria when she heard over the P.A. system Luna’s voice booming through the speakers.
“Sunset Shimmer report to the principal's office” Luna repeated herself “Sunset shimmer please report to the principal's office.”

                       Chapter Three

Chapter Three
Sunset was at first a little confused as to why she was being called to the Principals office to her knowledge she hadn't done anything to warrant being called there. At least not anything major since her rehabilitation from high school grade A bitch queen to a model student that actually cared about her fellow students. Not really having time to think on the matter she took her backpack off then set it on the ground taking out her books for history and algebra. She then picked the bag back up turned to face her locker letting out soft sigh as she looked around. She quickly began to place her backpack into her locker and was just shutting the door to her locker door. When Pinkie from out of nowhere bounded up behind her. Pinkie was in her normal happy silly mood as was evident she suddenly placed her hands over Sunsets eyes happily squealing out in her high pitched voice.
“Guess who silly?”
Sunset smiled warmly she was happy to have a friend like Pinkie one that was random and would do almost anything to ensure her friend was happy.This meant from throwing large parties which Sunset didn’t really understand the need for but, was always happy to attend. To just trying to find something to make her smile today was no exception. Pinkie was in fully ‘pinkie mode’ and was very excitedly jumping and down behind Sunset.
Sunset shrugged giving her answer as she decided to play along to keep her pink skinned friend happy and her spirits uplifted.
“Uh, is it” She replied with slight hesitation to draw Pinkie on “Emerald heart?”
“Nope guess again” Pinkie beamed back happily “come on I like to throw parties”.
“Parties huh?” Sunset said with a slight smirk “Well in that case it you have to be” She bit down on her lower lip “Flower Dancer”.
Pinkie laughed then giggled replying with.
“Nope last guess”.
“OK, lets see your hands feel soft, like cookie dough and you have that wonderful high happy voice so you must beeee Pinkie right?”
“Yep it's me how did you know it was me Sunny?”
Pinkie let go of Sunsets face gently turning her around so their eyes locked onto the others. Sunset smiled even more warmly than before replying to her with.
“I knew it was you along, I just wanted to make sure to keep your spirits up and to make sure you were happy as always.”
“Aww, Sunny that is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you”.
Pinkie brushed a tear of happiness away from her right eye then jumped around some more.
She waved her arms around like a chicken bouncing from one foot to the other happily as she replied to Sunset with.
“The new transfer students are here Sunny, are you going to meet with them in the principal's office is that why you were called there?”
Pinkie continued to hop about until Sunset finally had enough with a slight smirk on her face she reached out taking a hold of the pink skinned bouncing girl by her shoulders. Gently pushing her towards the lockers until Pinkie was forced by the small space between her and Sunset to stop bouncing around like a rubber ball.
“Pinkie first.” Sunset replied warmly to her trying to calm her excited friend down “I don’t know why I am being asked to Principals Celestia’s office. Second you need to calm down it won’t do you or the new students any good to have you bouncing all over the place like a rubber ball. Now where are these students transferring from?”
“Oh, that’s easy silly there from Crystal Prep.” Pinkie smiled widely to Sunset before continuing her hair was six times more fluffy than normal something that Sunset took notice of “From what I have been able to find out about them their parents couldn’t afford the tuition of that school so they are going to go to this school.”
“So I take it you're really happy that we have new students coming to school then huh Pinkie?”
“Yep” Pinkie replied happily as she continued to bounce around like a rubber ball.
“Well I need to get to the principal's office and you need to get to class I’ll catch up with you after school.” Sunset stepped away from her locker then stopped to look over her shoulder “Oh, do me a favor will you?”
“Sure” Pinkie stopped bouncing around for a second “what sunny”.
“If I give you a little money can you buy me an apple fritter?”
Pinkie grinned twice as wide as before Sunset handed over ten dollars then headed down the hallway towards the principal's office. Getting to the office a few minutes latter she heard voices inside the office one was unmistakably Vice Principal Luna the other she wasn’t sure about.
“Do you understand that while *WE** at Canterlot High School do appreciate what you have done for this school. However that still does not excuse what your daughter did last week".*
“While I have no doubt you are enjoying the money that my husband and I have so very graciously given to this school Ms. Moon. I still want to know if you are going to let my daughter come back to this school”.
“You and I both know that is beyond my means to do so the school board…”
Sunset stood outside of the principal's office her hand trembling as she felt the cold steel of the door handle in her hand. She could hear shouting through the door.
“The school board! Don’t give me that! It was that other student that falsified your evidence against my daughter and now she has been expelled for something that she didn’t even do. Either you let her come back to school by this time next week or I’ll sue you and the whole school board.”
“Ms. Spoiled Rich, your daughter Diamond Tiara was lawfully caught with a firearm on school grounds. We had little choice in the matter and your daughter is DAMN lucky that expulsion is all she got she could have faced criminal charges for doing what she did”.
“My daughter was trying to win a stupid school election and was fouled by some little pip squeak snot that couldn’t find his way out of wet bag! My daughter did nothing wrong she was only going to scare the little ingrates into making her the schools.....”
“I think you have said more than enough it is time for you to leave”. Luna's voice could be heard interrupting Spoiled Rich.
“Oh, I’ll leave alright but, mark my words Ms. Moon I will be back and I will make sure you and that no good who…”
A loud sickening ‘whack’ came from behind the door followed by a dull thud against the door that shook the door itself. A light scuffle was also heard as Sunset listened a bit more carefully to what was going on within the Principals office. Luna’s voice was dull and dark she could clearly be heard almost snarling at Spoiled Rich.
“You listen and you listen well to what I am about to say to you. I am willing to put up with a great deal from the faculty, from the students and even from people like you. But, when it comes to my sister *NO** one gets away with calling her what you just tried to call her. Now get up and get the hell out of this office while you can still walk”.*
Sunset looked down saw that the door handle was turning not wanting to get in the middle of this little spat with Luna and Spoiled Rich she immediately took cover around the corner. Looking back while hiding around the corner she saw Spoiled Rich walk out in a half stagier holding her nose blood seeped out of her nose like a broken water faucet. Sunset thought to herself as she watched the woman leave the office.
“Crazy bitch got what she had coming to her bet that is the last time she calls Celestia a whore”.
"AND DON'T COME BACK!" Luna's voice came loudly from the now open door as she shouted in anger.
Luna took a moment to compose herself before coming out into the hallway she let out a tough sigh then looked to her right and noticed Sunset hiding around the corner. Sunset gulped hard something that Luna clearly noticed by the deadpan look she gave to her in return. Sunset slowly stepped out of her hiding place hung her head low and made her way into the office Luna followed shortly afterwards. Gesturing to a chair in front of her desk Luna replied to her with.
“Please take a seat Miss. Shimmer my, sister will be here in just a few minutes”.
Five minutes went by with the two not saying anything to the other before both of them heard from the office doorway as the door opened.
“Luna, my sister why was Spoiled Rich in the hallway holding her nose and swearing up a storm?”
Luna and Sunset both looked to the door of the office to see Principal Celestia standing there looking rather annoyed with her sister. She looked down at Sunset who was still sitting in the chair in front of Celestia’s desk.
“Oh, hello Sunset thank you for coming on such short notice.” Celestia turned her attention back to her sister who was just taking a seat next to Sunset. “Luna I will ask you again why was Spoiled Rich holding her nose and swearing in the hallway not more than a few moments ago?”
Luna swallowed hard then slowly closed her eyes as she replied to Celestia.
“Because my sister I...hit her.”
“I see, tell me sister.” Celestia cleared her throat. “And I want you to be perfectly honest with me on this”.
“Y..yes my sister, I will but, of course be honest with you. You know this”.
“Good because I want you to tell me how it felt to hit that no good stuck up bitch”.
Luna’s eyes went wide when she heard this reply from her sister. She had only ever heard her sister swear once before and that was at the Fall Formal shortly after Sunset turned into her demon form. Looking up at her sister and with Sunset looking just as surprised and even more confused that Luna herself was Luna replied to her sister with a half smirk on her face.
“It felt good I mean you are right she is a stuck up bi...” Luna stopped looked at Sunset then back at her sister. “Er..I mean person and I know I shouldn’t have done it, but she made me so mad that I just well...I..lost my temper”. Luna looked down a look of pure shame slowly etched it's way over her face she swallowed hard again as she started to get up to leave. “Your mad with me so I will go now if you need me I’ll be in my office until the end of the day my sister”.
“Oh, I am plenty mad about this, my sister. But, I am more mad believe it or not that I was not the one to do that to her. Now why don’t we tell Sunset why we asked her here. Then you and I can have our tea and lunch alright”.
Luna took her seat again leave Celestia to walk in front of her desk after she had shut her office door. She took up a small stack of papers tapped the lightly on the desk placing them into an ‘out going’ box on her desk. Before taking her seat and leaning forward looking right into Sunsets eyes. Something that suddenly made Sunset feel very uncomfortable.
“Now Sunset” She replied to her sweetly “The reason you are here today is I wanted to know if you would be willing to help us show the twelve transfer students around school campus?”
Sunset’s face lit up like a Christmas tree she beamed a great happy smile and a soft sigh of relief.
“Yes of course I will help out, Principal Celestia.” She replied happily “Where do I go? Who do I talk to? How many students will I be showing around? Do you think I should bring them to Applejack's bake sale? Perhaps in doing so it might help them to make new friends here? How many…”
“Whoa” Principal Celestia chuckled lightly “Hold on there Sunset let us answer one question at a time”.
Sunset blushed lightly nodding her reply she still had a happy smile on her face Celestia also smiled back to her warmly. Sunset looked next to her at Luna who also had a light smile on her face if one could actually call it that. She looked more like she was frowning but, to her she was at least happy that Sunset was willing to help out.
“Ok, your first question ‘where do I go’ to answer that you need to go the cafeteria there you will find all twelve students.” Celestia replied kindly “Your second question ‘Who do I talk to?’ well that one my sister will handle she will be the one that you talk to about who you will be showing around”.
Sunset again nodded her reply then looked over to Luna who also nodded to her as well.
"Yes" Luna replied in her normal deadpan tone "I have already told Victor Van Helsmoon and his sister Anna Van Crestlur that you will be showing them around school today."
"Ok, so I take it I will meet both of them in the cafeteria when I get there then?" Sunset replied.
"Yes they should be there now" Celestia chimed in "Look for a student wearing all black and his sister should be wearing red with a short dark ocean blue waist coat with a phonic on the back of it".
Sunset nodded to this but, did little else. She sat in her chair eager to help out in any way she could. Sunset looked from Luna then to Celestia as she started to get up to leave she stopped when Celestia held up a hand saying to her half sternly.
“Just a minute there is one more thing we want to talk with you about before you leave my office Sunset”.
Sunset felt all the color in her amber skin drain out of her she sat back down looking a bit frightened to her Principal.
“Y..yes and..that w..would be?”
“We both my sister and I that is want you to have good time at the bake sale today. And I wanted to return a...special item of yours in person before you left my office.”
Celestia stood up from behind her desk. She turned to her right and went over to a small walk in closet opened it and took out a black leather guitar case handing it to Sunset. Sunset looked at the case then at Celestia and back at the case in her hands. Sunset took the case from her looking it over with interest on the handle of the black leather case were her initials. On the rim of the case itself were the words ‘music is the key to life, life is the key to music. Music to my ears’ rock on rock on!’ Sunset quickly looked up at Celestia who offered her a warm smile saying only.
“Go on you go rock this world and show the new students what you can do Sunset. For I believe in you and so does everyone else. You just have to show them that there is indeed another side to you”.
Sunset got up thanked both Luna and Celestia then headed out of Celestia’s office with her guitar in her hands. She stopped by the music room dropping off her guitar then headed for the cafeteria getting there a few minutes later she found Fluttershy talking with a new student that she hadn’t seen before. Letting out a soft sigh she was about to walk away and talk with the other students when from behind her. She heard Fluttershy’s soft angelic voice call out to her when she had noticed Sunset standing there.
“Oh, Sunset..c..can..I..I..s..speak with you.”

                       Chapter Four

Chapter Four
Sunset stood in the middle of the cafeteria looking at the young woman that she had fallen head over heels for. Her eyes locked onto to Fluttershy’s they showed only happiness with but, an ever slight showing of concern as well. Standing next to Fluttershy was a young man in his mid teens he had long purple hair back length if Sunset had to take a wild guess.His hair was draped over his right shoulder in a very loose ponytail tied with three bands to it. Deep ocean blue eyes and a scar across his face. He was also wearing all black Sunset guessed right away that this was the person that Luna had told her about. The scar Sunset noticed when she focused on his face was jagged running down from the bridge of his nose to his right cheek. But it was his eyes that caught her attention most of all. He had eyes that showed someone who openly looked for danger just as Sunset was about to reply to Fluttershy she heard the new student reply to her.
“Hello there I am Victor Van helsmoon and you must be the person that is supposed to show me around this school?”.
Sunset held out her hand to shake his before pulling her hand back in slight fear she sensed something about this person. Something that wasn’t quite...natural, something that was more supernatural about him. His eyes were deep ocean blue yet in the schools light of the cafeteria they looked almost amber as if they were...glowing. Fluttershy a little weary at first looked between the two of them she noticed Sunsets hesitation. Not wanting her to come off as rude Fluttershy immediately stepped next to Sunset and gently nudged her in the side with her elbow whispering into Sunsets ear.
“Go on, shake his hand he isn’t going to bite you”.
Sunset blushed she quickly shook his hand replying to him with a soft smile on her face.
“S..sorry it is just a force of habit with me. Yes I am the person that is supposed to show you around the school today. Uh tell me Victor where is your sister?”
“Hmm, I think she might be over at the tables where a young woman with a brown stetson is serving some apple fritters”.
Sunset was about to take a step towards the tables that Applejack was indeed selling her famous apple fritters at when she and everyone else heard a loud squeal. Everyone stopped what they were doing instantly as all eyes suddenly fell to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow much to everyone's surprise was standing on top of one of the many caffettiera tables holding a microphone in one hand and a piece of paper in the other. She held the microphone up to her mouth saying loudly into it as she read from the piece of paper in her other hand.
“ATTENTION ALL CANTERLOT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLERS AND STAFF. I AM RAINBOW DASH THE MOST AWESOME STUDENT HERE AT CHS”.
"Yeah we know who you are Rainbow get on with it *already*!” A voice called out from somewhere in the crowd of students.
‘Ahem’ Rainbow cleared her throat “AS I WAS SAYING” she looked around to make sure no one else was going to interrupt her. “I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT I AND MY FELLOW CLASSMATES ARE REALLY SUPER STOKED TO WELCOME THE TWELVE NEW STUDENTS TO OUR SCHOOL. SO WITHOUT ANY FURTHER DELAY CAN I HAVE THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS COME UP TO THIS TABLE SO WE CAN ALL GET A GOOD LOOK AT WHOM IS COMING TO THIS AWESOME SCHOOL”.
While Rainbow read off her student list Sunset felt a slight tugging on her right sleeve looking to her right she saw that it was Fluttershy tugging on her coat sleeve. Fluttershy gestured towards the doors leading out of the cafeteria and Sunset nodded to her replying to Victor with.
“Victor will you please excuse me and Fluttershy for a few moments? She and I need to...talk”.
“Anna Von Crestlor”. Rainbows voice boomed out from her microphone.
“But, of course besides I just heard my sister's name being called and I am sure that I will be up there in a second too. So you two go on now she and I will catch up with you in a little while”.
Fluttershy led Sunset towards the doors of the cafeteria and out into the hallway. Taking a few steps from the double green doors she looked at Sunset replying to her softly in her angelic way.
“I want to know something Sunset but, I don’t want to ask you out here. Is there someplace that we can...talk more privately that you can think of?”
Sunset tapped a amber finger to her chin replying to Fluttershy with a steely gaze in her teal colored eyes.
“Yes I think we can use the music room for our talk Fluttershy. Although why do you want to talk now? I mean can’t this wait until after school? Or, after we get done with showing the other students around?”
“No this can’t wait any longer Sunset I am...well...I’m not happy about something. But as your friend I need to do the right thing and give you a chance to clear this up before it gets to the both of us”.
Sunset swallowed hard while she followed Fluttershy towards the music room. Getting there a few minutes later she opened the door for Fluttershy who simply shook her head and gestured for the red and yellow head girl to go in first. Sunset pursed her lips together letting out a soft but, noticeable sigh as she stepped into the room. The room was small but, not to small that it felt crowded to the right of the door was Sunsets guitar. To the left was Rarity's keytar hanging on the far back wall of the music room. Standing in main part of the room where Pinkies drums and Applejacks bass guitar along with Fluttershy’s tambourine hanging up on a hook to the left of the drums. Sunset heard a soft ‘click’ from behind her when she entered the room. Turning around she saw that Fluttershy was standing with her back against the door.
“Fluttershy what was that click that I just heard?” Sunset replied with a slight gulp.
“It was me locking the door you see Sunset I don’t want you to run away from me again until you tell me why you did that to me in yesterday. Besides that wasn’t very nice of you to run off like that. I thought I hurt your feelings and you didn’t really give me a chance to say anything to you. So now you will be in here with me until you agree to tell me why you ran away yesterday”.
Sunset looked down at her boots for a few seconds she could almost feel Fluttershy’s eyes on her with a soft sigh she replied to her in a half stammering voice.
“I..I ca..can’t..tel..tell you F..Fluttershy.”
“Why not?”
“You wouldn’t understand”.
“What wouldn’t I understand? I wouldn’t understand that I must have somehow in someway upset you which caused you to run off yesterday”.
Sunset closed her eyes turning her back to Fluttershy. Sunset let out a soft sigh she walked over to Pinkies drums laying a gentle hand on them. They felt cold and smooth to the touch she ran her hand over the rim of the rack tom drum taking in all the beauty of Pinkies drums. Letting out a sigh of her own Fluttershy walked over to her she too laid her hand onto the drums replying to Sunset with.
“Please Sunset just tell me what caused you to run away yesterday. If it is something that is personal to you I’ll keep it just between the two of us. Besides it wouldn’t be very nice of me to spread your secrets around campus now would it?”
“Please Fluttershy just drop it I don’t want to talk about it.”
“No” Fluttershy stared deadpan at Sunset “I can’t just drop this you hurt my feelings and I want to know why”.
Sunset turned heading for the door only to be cut off when Fluttershy jumped in front of her holding her arms out glaring at her. Sunset had seen this glare from her once before she didn’t like it then and she didn’t want to look at Fluttershy now while she was glaring at her. Swallowing hard Sunset tried again for the door only to stop short when Fluttershy used her stare on her. With her jaw quivering a bit and sweat beginning to form on her brow Sunset finally broke down fluttering out only two words to Fluttershy as tears came to her eyes.
“I’m homeless”.
Sunsets eyes went wide we she realized what she had just said to Fluttershy. Looking at the custard colored pink haired girl in front of her she closed her eyes and turned away from her.
“Your...your homeless”. Fluttershy’s eyes went just as wide as Sunsets had only a moment ago. “Is that what I just heard you say?”
“Yes” Sunset replied fighting back her tears.
“How long have you…..”
“Three years this will be my fourth year”.
Sunset folded her arms over her chest letting out a stuttering gasp as she tried to think of what to tell Fluttershy. Here was the girl that she had fallen in love with yet in her mind she felt she couldn’t be with her. While trying to find the right words to say she failed to see Fluttershy coming up behind her. It wasn’t until she felt the warmth of Fluttershy's skin on her hands that she actually realized that Fluttershy was hugging her from behind. She could hear Fluttershy softly trying to sooth her.
“Shhh” Fluttershy whispered into Sunsets ear “I’m here now there is no need to worry any more Sunset I’ll take care of you”.
Sunset ended the warm embrace she had gotten from Fluttershy wiped a few tears from her eyes and looked at her with sad eyes.
“I need to tell you something yet I feel that you might think of me as a fool”.
“I wouldn’t do that Sunset besides that wouldn’t be very nice”.
Sunset walked over towards the door before Fluttershy could get there she watched as Sunset placed her back against the door itself and slid down to a sitting position. Looking up at Fluttershy who, stood over her Sunset again wiped away a few tears before she replied to her. She cleared her throat while Fluttershy began to take a seat next to her.
“I can’t believe I am about to say this to you but, before I do I want you to know that I will fully understand if you don’t feel the same way”.
“I understand Sunset please tell me”.
“I…” Sunset looked over at her guitar case then back at Fluttershy “am in...love with you”.
The reaction she got from Fluttershy was not one that she expected at all. Fluttershy pulled Sunset into a warm embrace placing her lips against hers kissing Sunset passionately. Sunset fully melted into the kiss. The two remained locked into each other's lips for almost a good five minutes before they heard the lunch bell ring out signaling that Lunch period was over. The two of them stood up exited the music room but, before Sunset could leave the area Fluttershy grabbed onto her one last time planting her lips into Sunsets fully and completely.
“Well it's about damn time”.
Ending the kiss shortly after hearing the words coming from thier right Fluttershy and Sunset both blushed deeply. Turning to their right when they heard the voice next to them both Fluttershy and Sunset saw Rainbow, Pinkie, Applejack and Rarity standing in hallway. Along with the twelve students they were supposed to be showing around. Pinkie was bouncing up and down like a yo-yo her hair flopped back and forth. Rainbow was beaming a really big smile Rarity simply nodded to the two of them and Applejack tipped her hat back each of their friends had smiles on their faces. Principal Celestia was just coming down the hallway when she saw the crowd of students gathered in the hallway. Fearing that a fight was breaking out she quickened her pass only to stop short when she saw Sunset and Fluttershy kissing each other. Luna was also coming down the hallway as well  was pleasantly surprised to see Sunset and Fluttershy ending their kiss together to the cheering of the crowd in front of them. Sunset and Fluttershy both looked to be rather embarrassed as Luna heard Sunset say.
“I think we better get to class before this goes any further Fluttershy”.

                       Chapter Five

Chapter Five
Classes for the day were just letting out and everyone was heading home, everyone except for Sunset who was just heading outside of the school. A soft gentle hand reached out from behind her stopping her in her tracks as she stepped outside into the cold afternoons air. Turning around she saw that Fluttershy was the one that had stopped her she smiled warmly to Sunset replying to her gently.
“I don’t want you to be out there by yourself please will you let me take you to my home Sunset”.
Sunset at first looked at her with bewilderment had she actually heard correctly did Fluttershy really just offer a place to stay for the night? Not sure what to do or say Sunset stepped back releasing herself from Fluttershy’s hand which rested delicately on her shoulder. Sunset looked down swallowed hard then back up just as Fluttershy replied to her with.
“You don’t have to live on the streets any more Sunset you are more than welcome to live at my place for as long as you want”.
Her friends who were just coming into earshot all stood there with their mouths gaping open each of them were rather surprised to hear that their friend Sunset Shimmer was...homeless. Rainbow was the first to say something which immediately got Sunsets and Fluttershy’s attention.
“Sunset did we...did we hear correctly are you really living on the streets during winter!”
Sunset and Fluttershy both turned around to see all four of their friends and the twelve students that the had showed around earlier that day standing behind them. Looking down for a few minutes Sunset closed her eyes she knew it was time to let everyone know what was going on.
“Follow me to Sugarcube Corner I’ll explain everything there.” She replied softly.
Fifthteen minutes later Fluttershy found herself sitting next to Sunset who sat across from Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. Rarity and Applejack sat on either side of them with Rarity sitting next to Fluttershy and Applejack sitting next to Pinkie. All eyes were on Sunset except for Fluttershy who was looking down at the table in front of her. Sunset let out a soft quick breath before starting.
“OK, as you all know I come from Equestria and while in Equestria I was a unicorn with a red and yellow sun cutie mark on my...flank.” Sunset looked at each of her friends then to Fluttershy before continuing. “When I first came here I didn’t have any money, food or clothing except for the clothing that the portal gave me. I am still to this day three and half years later trying to figure out why I was given clothing when in Equestria clothing isn’t something that most ponies wear unless it is for fashion.”
“Whoa hold up there a minute!” Rainbow interrupted “are you telling us that you basically walked around” She quirked an eyebrow to Sunset who returned the gesture. “Naked?”
“Uh, yes and no...Look Rainbow” Sunset looked back at her friends each showing signs of either shock or bewilderment “guys can I just please tell you all why I am living on the streets rather than having to deal with all the other drama. We can deal with this” She flexed her index and middle fingers on both hands twice “pony walks around naked stuff some other time.”
“Sunset darling please continue.” Rarity chimed in.
“Thank you Rarity, now where was I? Oh, yes after I got here I had as I said no money, no food and no clothing other than what little and I do mean little the portal gave me. I was for some reason given the leather coat, black and pink leather boots, orange mini skirt and my pink or purple shirt. The portal did for some reason give me some money but, it was only ten dollars which I used to buy a few apples and cheese sandwiches from a local store. Needless to say I don’t have a job and I also don’t have the proper paperwork to get one. So thus I must live on the streets eating when I can and...where I can.”
“What do y'all mean a-eatin' when ayn' where y'all can sugar cube?” Applejack chimed in with a genuine look of concern on her face.
Sunset swallowed hard then looked down at the empty table in front of her she let out a soft sigh before closing her eyes as she replied to Applejack with.
“I normally eat lunch at the school this you all know because you all have either joined me or seen me eat lunch there. But, when I need dinner or breakfast I will normally get it out of dumpsters found throughout the city. I know it sounds disgusting and all but, unless you all have had to live how I have had to live I don’t want to hear any words on the subject.”
Everyone looked down at the empty table except for Sunset and Fluttershy who each locked eyes with the other. Rarity was the first to try to break the uneasy silence that had fallen over the group as she spoke out to her friend who clearly was having a difficult time.
“Darling I don’t know if I can speak for everyone else but, I can assure you that I for one won’t make light of this situation. I very humbly shall offer you my home and a warm bed to sleep in for as long as you wish to have it. You may also have hot safe food each and everyday that you are at my home as well.”
Sunset broke eye contact with Fluttershy for a few seconds as she smiled softly to Rarity who returned the smile before she could say anything however Fluttershy spoke up.
“Sunset will be coming home with me tonight after we stop by her...place to get whatever she needs to live in my cottage comfortably.”
Sunset gulped but, replied nevertheless to what Fluttershy had just stated.
“Fluttershy has...already offered me her home but, I am not sure if I should take her up on it.”
Hearing this made Fluttershy’s eyes water with tears Sunset noticed this as she raised her hands in a ‘whoa let me explain' motion to her. Fluttershy fought back her tears while she listened to what Sunset had to say as did the rest of Sunset’s friends.
“You see Fluttershy the reason I don’t know if I should take you up on your most gracious of offers to me. Well it is because I feel like I am being asked to chose from you to the rest of our friends.” Sunset looked to Pinkie first. “I feel like I must chose who to laugh with” she looked to Rarity. “Who to be compassionate with” she looked to Rainbow. “Who to be loyal too.” she looked at Applejack who had her hat tipped back and warm smile on her face showed clearly on her orange face. “Who to be honest with.” she then turned back to Fluttershy saying to her softly “Or who to be…kind...with.”
“I see” Fluttershy replied meekly “Sunset you wouldn’t have to chose between us just choose which home you want to be in.”
Again Sunset swallowed hard as she started to stammer on her words to Fluttershy.
“Y..you..d..don’t unders..s..stand F...Fluttershy. I don’t want to be just” Sunset closed her eyes pushing herself away from the table standing up to leave the area. “I am sorry I have to go.”
“Oh, no you don’t Sunset you're not backing out of this. Not this time!” Fluttershy snapped angrily.
Sunset stopped in her tracks to the front door when she heard the hurt angry voice from Fluttershy she stood almost frozen like a deer in head lights. Fluttershy also got up from the table she headed over to Sunset wrapping her arms around Sunsets stomach pulling her into a warm tight embrace as she said loud enough for all to hear her words.
“I know what you want Sunset Shimmer, and it is the same that I have wanted since I first met you. But because of how you were back then I was too terrified to ask now I am not.”
Sunset turned let out a soft sigh and as a smile slowly came to her face she turned around embracing Fluttershy fully.
“Alright Fluttershy I will...come home with you. But, I need to stop by my place to pick up my journal so that I can contact Twilight there are somethings that I must talk with her about.”
What Sunset Shimmer didn’t know as her friends all got up from the table to see her and Fluttershy out was how bad thing were about to get. Rainbow gave Sunset a hard slap on the shoulder causing the red and yellow haired girl to yelp out in pain. Rubbing her shoulder with her hand she shot Rainbow a glare that would have frozen all of hell ten times over. Rainbow smirked in reply. Pinkie bounced around happily knowing that her best friend wouldn’t be spending another night on the streets. Rarity smiled warmly to Sunset saying to her gently as she laid a soft tender hand onto her shoulder.
“If you two need anything at all Darling please don’t hesitate to call me, I’ll be there for both of you regardless of what time of day or night it is.”
“Thank you Rarity.” Both Sunset and Fluttershy replied in unison.
Applejack stood by the door holding it open for the two as they made their way out of the shop and down the street. She tipped her hand towards the two of them saying to her friends while she watched them leave for Sunsets home.
“Ya’ll think those there two make just the darnedest, cutest couple?”
“No I don’t A.J.” Rainbow snorted out.
Everyone still at the Sugar Cube Corner turned to face Rainbow not sure what she was about to say next. Applejack was about to speak with Rainbow cut her off.
“I think they make the most super awesome couple I wish them nothing but, happiness and best of luck.”
“As do I darling” Rarity chimed in watching her friends disappear from view.
“This is so exciting!” Pinkie bounced around like a rubber ball. “I get to throw my friends a super party now.” She continued to hop around like a giddy school child. “I’ll call it ‘it's about time you two got together’. There be lots of cake and cupcakes and cupcakes cake and candy and all sorts of really yummy treats for them to eat.”
“Carefull surger’cube you don’t want to fatten them up like the cows ready for milking now do ya?” Applejack replied grinning from ear to ear.
Pinkie beamed a huge smile to Applejack who just smirked back replying to her with.
“Yur going to aren't you Pinkie?” Tipping her hat back a bit Applejack smiled warmly to Pinkie “I can’t say that I blame you for wanting to fatten them up I mean gosh those two do look mighty thin. I mean have you all seen how skinny Fluttershy is and Sunset with her living on the streets she looks like a half starved fox that no matter how many chickens it gets ya’ll can’t get it to gain any weight.”
“Now darling it is not proper to try to” Rarity cleared her throat and flexed her fingers up and down. “Fatten up our friends like that. If those two want to stay skinny like that then that is their choice not ours to make.”
“Yur right Rarity. We should be instead making plans to celebrate they're going out together not trying to fatten them up like pigs.”
The group of friends left Sugar Cube Corner each happy for Fluttershy and more so for Sunset. Sunset and Fluttershy got to where she lived an hour latter only to find that the building was completely engulfed in thick high flames and that there were several fire trucks parked outside. Wanting to know what happened Sunset asked one of the firefighters and was told that several kids were caught playing around inside the building. A scuffle had started with a passing police officer and the building caught fire due to a oil lamp that had been knocked over. Looking around she found what was left of her journal in a small pile just a few feet from the firefighter. Getting up to it she looked at the book which wasn’t much picked it up and balled her right hand into a tight fist. Closing her eyes she picked up what was left it reopened her eyes then tucked what was left of her journal into her backpack.Taking Fluttershy by her hand she gently led Fluttershy away from the area her only thoughts rested on how she was going to contact Twilight without her book.

Chapter Six
Fluttershy and Sunset had made it to Fluttershy’s small but, quaint cottage just under an hour ago. Now Sunset found herself in Fluttershy’s living room enjoying a small cup of tea. Fluttershy herself was sitting next to Sunset with a book in her hands and cup of tea on an end table next to her. The two had said very little about the ruined magic journal. Each time Fluttershy tried to bring it up she was met with.
“I really don’t want to talk about it, at least not right now that is.”
To help quell the situation down some Fluttershy, decided to make Sunset some hot herbal tea which Sunset was now enjoying. Fluttershy let out a soft sigh as she set down her book got up and headed upstairs. A few minutes later Sunset could hear water running she too got up but, not to head upstairs she turned looked out the windows of Fluttershy's home thinking to herself.
“I really don’t know what to do now. How am I supposed to contact Twilight let alone get back to Equestria now. The book is gone, only three pages survived. How could anyone do this?”
Setting her cup down as she entered the kitchen she failed to see Fluttershy coming into the kitchen. Sunset poked through Fluttershy's refrigerator trying to find something to eat to help take her mind off of her journal being completely destroyed. It wasn’t until she felt Fluttershy’s arms wrap around her stomach and her head laying on her back that she actually took notice of Fluttershy being in the kitchen with her.
“It’s going to be alright Sunset. I know you are upset about your journal being destroyed come upstairs I made a hot bath for you to help you relax.”

“You're worried about something aren’t you?”

Looking down at the pink haired girl with her head against her chest Sunset let out a forced sigh then gently pushed Fluttershy off of her replying to her softly.
“If I tell you something you must swear to me you won’t say a word to anyone else unless you have no choice in the matter.”
“Alright.”
“You are right I am worried about something, it is actually more on the lines of someone. I am concerned that Anna and Victor aren’t who they say they are. I felt something….something evil when I touched Victor's hand today at school. I felt that kind of evil only once before back when I lived in Equestria before I met Princess Celestia.”
“What happened uh, that is if you don’t mind me asking you that is?”
“It was the magic of a lycron manticore think of it as a crossing between a werewolf and an actual manticore.”Sunset shutterd a bit as she continued “But they look more like big cats rather than actual wolves.” Sunset looked away tears slowly began to leak out of her cyan eyes. “Well what does it matter Celestia was able to banish both of them and saved my life.”
Fluttershy’s eyes went wide she she came to understand why Sunset had looked away from her.
“Are...are you saying that two of those creatures killed your….family Sunset.”
Fluttershy suddenly felt something wet dripping onto her head as Sunset pulled her into a tight hug she could feel Sunset begin to tremble and she didn’t like it.
“Yes Fluttershy…. a male and female. If it wasn’t for Celestia I wouldn’t be alive right now. But, the damage had been done for you see I wanted revenge I wanted those monsters to pay for what they did to my family. The years passed I healed but, there was always the need for vengeance. I let that need cloud my judgement and I wound up coming here. The rest you... well.... you know the rest don’t you Fluttershy.”
“Yes you bullied those around you and you became a demon at the Fall Formal. I wish I had known about your family before the dance Sunset it explains why you wanted the crown so badly. You must have thought that with that power you could track down the ones that took your family from you. Tell me now that you are nice and basically good do you….”
“Do I still want vengeance for what happened? No. Fluttershy what, I want now most of all is to have a family of my own someday weather it be through adoption or through medical means that is what I want nothing more and nothing less. Now I believe you said something about a hot bath was waiting for me upstairs correct?”
The question caused Fluttershy to blush deeply while she held Sunset in her arms. She smiled ending the embrace as she took Sunset by her hands and brought her upstairs to a waiting steaming hot bath. Sunset smiled to Fluttershy then sat down on the edge of the tub testing the water with her hand it felt warm and made her feel contented to be able to relax. Turning back she saw Fluttershy was about to leave the bathroom to allow Sunset to take her bath in peace.
“Wait Fluttershy please” She replied softly to her. “You can join me if you want to I wouldn’t mind at all.”
Fluttershy turned around a small but noticeable smile formed on her lips. Looking down she moved her right foot in a half circle as she squeaked out.
"You really mean it Sunset? You really want me to join you?"
“Take this as my answer Fluttershy.’
Before Fluttershy could say anything further Sunset gently lifted up her blouse removing the garment and tossed it to the floor. She then turned the timid girl around and removed her bra tossing that to the floor as well. “Did you do as I asked did you destroy her journal?”
“Yes your majesty Sunsets journal is destroyed she will be forced to use the spell now.”
“Good, when I leave here you six are to spread out into the city find Anna and her brother Victor tell them that the next stage of our plan is ready.”
“Very well your majesty we will do as the hive commands.”
With said between the teal haired woman and the six standing before her she turned to the door next to her opening it for her six comrands. Allowing the six to leave the station, as she and her comrades got outside she pointed to the right and the six took off. Several hours later Anna and Victor were found at a local park and both  were brought up to speed. Just as Anna was about to leave the area her brother Victor replied to one of the six standing in front of him.
“Our deal still remains right?”
“I don’t know of any deal victor her majesty never said anything to us about any deal.”
Growing angry Victor flexed his fingers on his right hand black claws came out of the tips of his fingers. His eyes went snake like and his K-9's jutted downwards curving inwards slightly. Swiping at the throat of the person in front of him with his right hand Victor was able to fully tear the persons throat out. Laughing Anna also joined in on the slaughter and within a matter of minutes the two had killed all six of the people that had stood in front of them. Once they were done killing them they began to consume the lifeless bodies of their victims. Looking at each other the two headed off to a nearby alleyway changing fully into their catlike states each finding a place within the ally to sleep off their large meal.

Chapter Seven
Fluttershy woke up next to Sunset Shimmer who was still sleeping she gently leaned in kissing Sunset on her nose. Fluttershy looked at her reached out to grab the blanket but stopped when she looked up at her naked girlfriend standing in front of her. Now that it was daylight outside and the sun beamed its warmth through her bedroom windows she got a very good look at the amber-skinned girl standing in front of her. Her jaw almost dropped when she saw how beautiful Sunset really looked. Sunset noticed Fluttershy staring at her and smiled warmly to her.
“What?” she said with a raised eyebrow.
Fluttershy looked away blushing slightly as she replied.
“Oh, nothing it is just that you, well you look really beautiful.”
Sunset grinned again happy to see that her girlfriend was enjoying the view.
“Thanks. Now it is time to get up so we can get ready for school.”
The two headed into the bathroom Sunset turned on the warm water of the shower and Fluttershy started to brush her teeth. While Sunset was testing the water temperature with her hand she let out out soft sigh something that Fluttershy noticed. Spitting out her toothpaste and rinsing her mouth out she looked over to Sunset and said to her.
“You alright Sunset you seem kinda upset about something.”
“I am a bit upset about the journal Fluttershy. I mean how am I supposed to contact Twilight with the journal being destroyed and all?”
Putting a finger to her chin Fluttershy rolled her eyes up towards the ceiling as she replied.
“How about we take our shower together, enjoy the warmth of the water and then we worry about the journal. Besides I am sure that by now Twilight has figured out there is something wrong. So don’t you think she might be already working on a solution.”
“You just want to make out again huh Fluttershy?” Sunset replied with a slight smirk on her face.
“Well it was wonderful and I did enjoy it I hope you enjoyed it too Sunset because I plan on doing that to you every night and day so long as we are together.”
The two got into the show together each washing the other and each fully embracing and enjoying the others body. “As much as I would like to do that I would be arrested as soon as I stepped foot on Equestrian soil. I did after all steel a crown and commit treason the least I could get is about sixty years in prison the worst would be….”
“What, what else could they do besides toss you into a jail cell and throw away the key?”
“Death, Fluttershy they could kill me for what I did.”
“Then I should be the one to go I’ll talk to Twilight and let her know what has happened and see if she will give me the new journal.”
Sunset stopped in her tracks looked right at Fluttershy who looked away blushing lightly just before Sunset was going to say anything the school bell rang out. Sunset shook her head calling back to Fluttershy as they both headed off towards each of their classes.
“We’ll talk about this when I see you during lunch.”
Throughout most of the day Sunset thought only of what to do and what to say to Fluttershy although she was very grateful that Fluttershy wanted to help her. She was not sure about sending her to Equestria for she had not been there and didn’t know how dangerous the place could be. Sunset was so lost in her train of thought she didn’t see Vice Principal Luna coming down the hallway while she walked to class. It wasn’t until she bumped into the faculty member that she actually took notice of her surroundings. Luna let out a loud yelp of anger as a soft thud was heard coming from her direction.
“Miss, Shimmer watch where you are going next time!” The vice principal yelped out as she picked up her spilt briefcase and files.
“What? Oh, sorry about that Vice Principal Luna here let me help”
“I think you have done quite enough for now please just go to class and try to watch what you are doing alright”
Sunset shook her head light then headed to class without another word to the vice principal. Getting to her class a few minutes later she sat down at her desk took out her note book and waited for her teacher to show up. While waiting for the next bell to ring to signal the start of class Sunset thought to herself.
“Maybe I can use a spell to contact Twilight so that Fluttershy wouldn’t need to go to Equestria?”
The bell rang out loud and clear the last of the students headed into the class the classroom and the teacher walked in. Looking grimly at her students she began to teach her history class the time passed slowly as the class drolled on. An hour later Sunset again found herself walking the hallways alone thinking to herself as she rounded the corner headed towards the cafeteria for lunch she thought of what to do.
“In order to get the spell to work I would need a place that is quite, some place that I can concentrate without being bothered.” She thought to herself while walking down the hallway towards the cafeteria “Wait I know I can use the music room.” She said aloud.
Most of the students in the hallway with her stopped what they were doing as all eyes suddenly fell to her. Sunset paid little attention to the students as she made her way to the music room. Getting there she was pleased to see that the room itself was empty except for all of the music equipment that was in the room itself. She was about to enter the room when it dawned on her that she didn’t have anything to use for a tool thinking to herself again she thought.
“Maybe Pinkie left some candles in here I know she likes to hide them around here someplace.”
Looking around a bit she soon found what she needed two purple candles, a small pack of matches and blank paper. Taking the items from Pinkie's locker Sunset quickly set up the candles and lit them then drew Twilight's cutie mark on a blank piece of paper and set that on the floor in front of her. The candles she set down as well with each candle to the right and left of the paper. Closing her eyes she held out both hands and began to chant her words. Unbeknownst to Sunset while she chanted Pinkie was coming down the hallway with her party cannon ready to show it off for the twelve students from Crystal prep. Pinkie pushed her party cannon towards the music room opened the door looked up from pushing the cannon and saw Sunset chanting her body was glowing bright orange. No sooner did Pinkie begin to push the cannon inside the opened door of the music shop did Fluttershy come around the corner and tripped over a student's foot stumbling into Pinkie causing her to fire the cannon. The noise broke Sunsets concentration as she yelled out.
“NO!”
Turning around she saw Pinkie lying on her stomach confetti flying through the air Fluttershy had rolled out of Sunsets line of vision and was just picking herself up off the floor. Sunset took a step towards the door stopping when she felt pain etch it way across her whole body. Falling to her knees and shaking badly she lowered her head her hair covering most of her face. Looking back up she snarled out in a demonic tone.
“I'm sorry."
Pinkie got up looked at Sunset who threw her arms to her sides and looked up at the ceiling screaming so loudly that all the students froze in their tracks. They had heard the demonic scream before it brought terror to them then it caused even worse terror in them now. Pinkie rushed into the room trying to get Sunset to calm down only to be tossed out of the room and crash into the lockers on the opposite side of the wall with a very loud painful yelp. Green flames erupted from the room as Sunset’s body was burned bright red her clothing reduced to ash. Slowly standing up she had to make a quick choice it was either kill those she loved or try to leave. She chose to leave. With her mind slipping and becoming more and more feral she had only a few moments to chant her final words.
“.ereh fo tuo em tropelet”
In a blinding flash of green demonic energy Sunset was gone all that remained was a small pile of ash. Fluttershy rushed into the room just as Pinkie was getting back up to her feet she too rushed into the room both girls feel to their knees sobbing hard when the saw the pile of ash. Each of them thinking that Sunset was dead yet not knowing that in her final moments of clear thinking she had managed to get herself out of the school and to safe place. Unfortunately for Sunset her safe place would not be as safe as she had hopped it would be for that place happened to be Sweet Apple Arcs. Granny Smith sat on the porch in her rocking chair rocking back and forth peacefully. She was watching the cows in the pasture just past one of the many fences that out lined the pastures the Apple family used to feed their cows with. She was just getting out of her chair to get herself some lemonade when a large green bolt of energy hit the ground causing several cows around the area to scatter with fright.
“Dagnabbit what in tarnation was that there light” She screamed out.
“Call Applejack Granny Smith” Big MacIntosh replied
MacIntosh headed into the living room above the fireplace was his grandfather's shotgun taking the gun down he loaded it with two shells. Clicked the hammers back placed the gun over his right shoulder and headed out towards the pasture. Granny Smith tried to stop him but, he just shook her off and continued to head towards the pasture. As he got up to the fence he suddenly stopped in his tracks when he saw to his horror that a red demonic creature was slowly rising up from the ground. Sunset cocked her head to the right cracking her neck her naked body glistened in the afternoon sunlight she let out a loud demonic scream and took after the cows. Catching up to two of them rather easily. As she tore the heads off of both cows she heard a loud gunshot from behind her. Spinning around on her right heel she threw both heads at Big MacIntosh who managed to jump out of the way just in time. Rolling to the side he tried to fire again only to find that the gun had jammed. Looking from the gun then back to the creature in front of him he had just enough time to gulp out only two words before Sunset while in demon form was on him.
“Oh, shit!”
