//-------------------------------------------------------// Wanting To Be Seen -by Saberking2012- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The one for me... //-------------------------------------------------------// The one for me... There he is again... Paying attention to her again over me... I felt myself frozen in place as I watched annoyed at the sight. My brother, Shimmer, is again conversing happily with our baby sister, Hearts, who is playing together in the room... Looking at them giggling to each other, my brother smiling... It's almost like I don't exist... A unicorn that can use magic is outclassed by a six year old filly... I silently closed the door back and decided to leave them be. I had just about enough of this, maybe I will just accept the fact that Hearts is  here to stay, who needs much more attention from my brother due to the fact that she's just a filly... As I thought over this, I realized that my hoof hasn't let go of the door knob yet. I was tempted to kick the door open, and shout right in their faces, but I restrained myself realizing it would do no good... I released my grip on the knob and proceeded to walk off to the place known as my… 'Comfort Zone'. I went outside to my 'Comfort Zone' and went near a lake. I smiled to myself as I picked up a small stone and threw it across the lake, emitting a small, but noticeable splashing sound. My rather long, soft light blue mane swaying gracefully with the wavering wind. I gave a sigh of relief as I listened to the sound of the blowing breeze and chirping of birds nearby. I looked towards the horizon and the view was breath taking. I got up and walked to a nearby tree, and settled under its comforting shade. I leaned back on the tree's branch, and placed my hooves on the back of my head, serving as a pillow. I looked at the clear, blue sky and recounted on what happened earlier, a vision of what I saw suddenly formed on my mind. I shrugged it off, annoyingly. "How boring…" I whispered. I slowly started to closed my eyes, and let myself drift off to a peaceful sleep. "Glimmer!" A voice yelled out. Suddenly, my eyes burst open as I heard the sound of my name. That voice was no mystery to me. I could never forget that voice, the voice of my only friend, a mare who has been friends with me since my early childhood. However, I was surprise to see her now, because she said to me once that she wouldn't be able to see him for a few months. The reason was because her family will visit a relative somewhere, and will stay there for a while. "Glimmer." I looked at her and she appeared to be sad. "Hmm? What's the matter, Rose?" I asked, concerned. She placed both of her hoofs on my chest, and sobbed bitterly. "Oh, Glimmer! I-I have go away for a while!" She said, still crying. "Really? How come?" I asked. "My family said that we will visit a close relative somewhere, but I said to them countless of times that I don't want to come, but they still insisted me, saying that I won't of royal blood if I didn't come." She answered. I was speechless. I tried to say something, but the words wouldn't come out. I just placed a hoof on her back, and caressed it, hoping it would calm her down. "I don't… *Sniff* I don't want to be away from you…" She said, crying. A vision suddenly formed on my mind as she said that. A cursed image of my younger sister, Hearts, saying the exact same thing to my older brother. I gritted my teeth as I shrugged off the image out of my mind. "I know, Rose… I know…" I said, trying to calm her down. She continued to sob on my shoulders. It was damp with her tears. I smiled, and started to hum a song as he continued caressed her back. I could tell she was listened to it. I could tell she was tried to fight the urge to hum her own song, as she was trying to reply to me. My humming was starting to calm her down, slowly. "You has such a sweet voice." She said, calming down. Within moments, her crying ceased. She wiped the rest of her tears, and lifted her head to look at me. "Feeling better?" I asked. "Yes… Thank you." She replied. She paused for a few seconds to rest her head on my shoulders, and wrapped herself around me. "Glimmer… I… I will do whatever it takes to return as quickly as I can… Please, wait for me. Please?" She asked. "Of course, Rose. Anything for you." I said. "Glimmer… " She said, quietly. ...Hard to believe that was two months ago... As I opened my eyes, I heard my name again. "Glimmer!" This time, the voice is louder, and is accompanied by sounds of running steps. I smiled as I saw the girl coming closer and closer. I could clearly make out the long, blond mane swaying with each step she made. she was smiling as she continuously waved her hoof at me. She stopped in front me, and breathing heavily due to the running she was doing earlier. She tried to speak but was short of breath. "Rose…" I said surprised. She lifted her head, and she suddenly kneeled down and wrapped her hoofs around me. "Glimmer… I… I missed you!" She said crying. I smiled, and placed my hoof on her back. "That took a while." I said, half hearty. "Well, my family finally notice how sad I was. And said that I can go on home ahead of them…" "Oh! I see…" I said. She proceeded to sit beside me, then rested her head on my left shoulder. "You know… I know it's only been two months since I left…" She used both of her hoofs to grip my left hood. "But… For me… It feels like decades…" She said, sadly. I didn't respond. "…? Glimmer?" She asked, concerned. I still didn't respond. She moved her head closer, and could see that I looked somewhat… Sad. "Glimmer… Glimmer, are you okay?" She asked, growing more worried. I snapped out of  it and shook my head. "Oh, ummm… Sorry…" I said. "Glimmer… Is there something, troubling you?" She asked. I thought about answering her question truthfully, but should I tell her what's been troubling me? I rather not have her worry to much after just getting back... I remembered that I hadn't told her about my troubles regarding my brother and sister.I don't want to burden her by telling her my problems. She came home, she came home because of me. Still, I can't help thinking that the same scenario is happening to my brother and Hearts, just merely thinking about it made my blood boil. I need to forget… I have to. But, how can I...? "Glimmer?" She asked, again. "Oh… Ummm… Nothing! Nothing is troubling me at all." I said, with a fake smile. I tried to hide my problems and I'm very good at it but she can tell when something's off. "You're lying." She said, with a hint of anger in her voice. "Huh? Of course not. What are you talking about?" I asked, still lying. "Glimmer… Please… Tell me what's troubling you." She said, hearty. "Rose I-" "Glimmer… You helped me so much whenever I have troubles of my own, whenever I have problems, you will always willing to assist me, and I'm thankful for that. Now, let me do the same for you. Please.. tell me, what's bothering you?" She asked, concerned. I knew I couldn't lie to her. She knew me well enough to tell whenever I'm lying or not. I succumbed to her request, and lowered my head in defeat. "Simmer…" I said, finding the words. "Ignoring you?" She asked. My head darted up, at the realization of her question. "How did-" She put her hoof on my lips, interrupting me. "Glimmer… I knew all along. I saw the two of you arguing once, and I knew that was the cause of your troubles." She said. "I see…" I said, sadly. I didn't look back at her. I was embarrassed that she knew all along and I failed to hide it... "But, Glimmer, you shouldn't dwell on it. Your brother loves you. I'm sure of it." She said, with a faint smile. "I.. I can't… I can't handle being ignored by my brother… I try to find ways to make him notice me, but he just shrug me off, like I wasn't there at all. I'm afraid… of the fact that someday, he might leave me all alone." I said starting to tear up. She lifted my right hoof, and held it. "Maybe that day will come. I hope it never does but Glimmer, I won't." She said. I looked at her, and I could clearly see that she was smiling. "Rose…" I said, trying to find my words. She inched her face close to my ear. "You can always… Stay with me…" She whispered. I felt contentedness enter my heart, as I heard her say that. "Rose… Thank you." I said. She smiled, and leaned in her head on my shoulder, once more. I moved my left arm around her, pulling her close. Together, we watched the surroundings of the outside space. Together, we listened to the familiar sounds of the rustling leaves, chirping birds and dancing flowers. This is the place where I- no... we can at peace. Because in this place, it's only the two of us, it's all about us. Nothing more, nothing less. "Glimmer?" She asked. "Hmm?" I responded. "Did you missed me?" She asked. "Rose…" I said. "I've missed you… So much, Glimmer." She said, softly. She closed her eyes, and I could tell she was savoring this  moment. "I've missed you, too… Rose." I said, wiping my tears. I could clearly see that she is now fast asleep and realized that we were still holding each other's hoofs tightly interlocked with each other. My precious friend, Rose. She is the one. I can forget all about my jealousy towards Hearts and my anger towards my brother. She will be my reason… To stop this useless anger against him, once and for all. As I finished my thoughts, I smiled contentedly, and let myself drift into sleep. But, as I did so, she mumbled something in her sleep. "Glimmer… Please, stay with me… I love you so much, Glimmer…" As she finished saying that, I kissed her on the head. "Thank you..." I whispered. I realized while my brother and Hearts have each other, I have Rose... Even if ignores me in favor of Hearts, I know Rose will be there for me. I can rest easy knowing that.
