Prologue
The guttural roar of the engine set my mind at ease, the way that it would sing its one-note song was overpowering.
As I rode deeper into the night, I couldn't help but wonder what I was leaving behind.
Everything seemed to be going as planned, until it happened. The band split, and I was left to pick up the pieces.
I continued to ride, my acoustic tied to the seat. the purple bandana tied to my wrist flapped in the wind.
I broke free of the mundanity of the city and how everyday seemed to repeat itself, like a video stuck on and endless loop.
I felt the wind pick up as I rode away.
I remembered the argument, and sighed deeply, closing my eyes for a brief moment.
"You don't really care about the music do you?" The vocalist shouted at the drummer, who simply threw his sticks at her and then stood up. "I know we're going no-where at yet you still seem to cling on to hope...my god, Your such an idiot" the drummer slammed the door as he left. "Dont come back! the vocalist screamed. she then turned to the bassist, who simply shrugged. "don't know what crawled up his ass, but... I need to quit," He sighed, while running a hand through his shaggy hair. "it's not paying the bills, and plus... the music he writes just sucks" he pointed to me.
I sighed, "look, just because i don't write about bitches and whores all fucking day doesn't mean the stuff I write sucks"
the bassist just laughed. "no, but still, its all this... stuff about freedom ya know?"
I simply hung my head and sighed once more. "you didn't complain about it before... why now?"
"why not, it's a good a time as any" he then packed up his bass. the vocalist then turned to me.
"so about you, huh? this was your big vision... whats next!" she spat, I couldn't say anything...
she then wallked over to the door and looked at me with a disgusted look. "that's exactly what I thought... "
"but I thought this could work, I thought *we** could work"*
"You thought wrong... just... It's over... I'm sorry but... it's just not going to work out... simple as that"
way to rip my heart out and throw it at the wall.
but thats all it took.
a simple thought, a flash back.. a memory.
I saw a large lump in the middle of the road and turned to avoid it.
I heard a louder roar over the motorbike, and then found myself flying through the air.
I crashed into a tree, both leaving a large dent in said tree and leaving a large, unnoticed crack going along the crash-helmet.
Adjusting my goggles, I picked up the bike, all the while hearing the sounds of a creature roaring out in pain.
I hopped back on to the bike and took off, simply throwing caution to the wind.
but alas, there was a lot of caution in the wind today.
Like a badly written movie about a biker who had simply had enough, I rode on.
Ignoring what felt like
And I found that out the hard way... by crashing into a fallen tree and flying a few yards through a window.
Now I'm lying there amongst shattered glass with what feels like a broken arm, shards of glass in my chest and a small piece of wood jabbing itself into my leg. the blood slowing pooling around me like a small ravine, flowing down towards a doorway.
the last thing I heard were hoof-steps and a scream, before the the blackness at the edge of my vision finally clouded my sight.
The source of the hoof-steps edged closer to the bizarre creature in her home, she glanced over to the broken window, then back to the body. she saw the injuries and then started to work. "Angel bunny, Go get Twilight please"
the rabbit shot his owner an indignant and angry look at being rudely awoken. "don't argue, get going!" the owner huffed, even though it wasn't in her nature. she began to remove some of the glass and wood from the area.
then she began to remove the glass from the body. "Oh my... You've had a nasty fall" as she removed the clothing, the body shifted over. she saw the markings of wings etched into my skin. she studied them for a brief second before getting back to the situation at hand. The strange helmet fell apart. its hair was matted down thanks to the blood caked within it. being long and... bizarrely silver, she could see it was blood. she sighed, it was the only thing she didn't like about taking care of animals... the blood.
ta-da,
hopefully you've enjoyed it, if not... here's a refund of... diddelly squat.
