Failure

As Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash flew up to Cloudsdale for Rainbow's second show, Fluttershy congratulated her and went off to the auditorium. Luckily, Rainbow had made it in on time today, and Spitfire wasn't annoyed. Actually, she was looking very optimistic today! Spitfire instructed everypony to prepare, while Rainbow was shaking in her outfit. Her parents were going to watch this! She'd better not muck up!

After preparing the special effects for the show, and rehearsing the routine again, the music began playing, and the WonderBolts stepped up to their individual starting positions. Fluttershy immediately searched the blue costumes for a rainbow mane and tail, and found her at the end of their line of positions. You could tell how much she was rooting for Rainbow to do her best.

Suddenly, Dash shot off the line at lightning speed and began spinning and twirling in the sky! Soon after her, in cannon, each WonderBolt joined her. The blue costumes all formed a tunnel, and one by one each WonderBolt flew through the tunnel, and joined onto the end. They repeated this process until...

"OW!" Rainbow yelled, as her wing seized up. Franticly, her other wing flailed, as she spun around in a circle, squeezing her eyes tight shut. She zoomed down to her possible death, screaming her pony feathers off.

Noticing her best friend falling downwards, Fluttershy leapt to her hooves, as well as Rainbow's parents! They all flew as fast as they could to try and rescue Dash.  Fluttershy plummeted down, as Dash was doing, for she forgot to use her wings. Flutters never was the type of pegasus who flew a lot, she may as well had have been an earth pony. Despite the pain, Rainbow tried flapping her paralysed wing, but it refused. She kept flapping it, in the hope that it would at least help her slow her fall. However, she know this was hopeless. Logic defied it.

Fluttershy dropped down faster than Dash, and landed on her, making the blue pegasus fall even faster down.

"FLUTTERSHY!" The racer yelled in pain, "USE. YOUR. WINGS!"

The yellow animal carer, sprung her wings out and looked at them. Remembering how to fly, Fluttershy grabbed Dash around the waist and flapped her wings strongly, sweat beading on her head. Despite looking after a huge bear, she really wasn't that strong at all. No matter how hard she tried, they still kept falling.

Rainbow's parents swooped in underneath her, and pushed up, flapping their wings hard too. Fluttershy, quickly realising where she was, clutched onto Rainbow's paralysed wing in fright and stopped flapping.

"GAAAHH" the rainbow maned pegasus screeched.

Luckily, Dash's parents were fairly strong, but not really strong enough. Soon, the ground got closer and closer.

"We... can't... hold.. you.." The wedded couple struggled.

"Let go!" Fluttershy yelled... sort of.

"Why...?" They groaned.

"Just do it!"

The couple let go of Dash and Flutters, and they began falling faster, and faster, and faster.
