Shot 1-A Soothing Nightmare
The moon hung in full over the night sky, shining down upon the low-hanging canopy of the Everfree forest. So, with dread highlighting his every move, he stepped into the cavern.
On the inside, though hard to see, it was not as pitch-black as it looked from the entrance. The cave was not as nearly big of a maze as he would have thought. In fact, it wasn't a maze at all. Though the path twisted and turned every which way, the only split it ever had contained two paths that curved back around onto the same road. Though dark and damp, it was surprisingly peaceful. At least, that's what it seemed like at first. But after about fifteen minutes of enjoying his journey of walking down one lane, he saw a light. A faint, orange glow. Normally, he would high-tail it out of there, but in his relaxed state, he felt a bit cocky, and the thought of running didn't cross his mind. The light couldn't be far, maybe a hundred feet at most—"God, I'm so good at perceiving shit," Knock drawled to himself—and he could easily get to it. He set out on a trot towards the light.
At about seventy feet, he began to make the glow out as a fire.
At fifty, he could see a figure behind it.
