My Little Warrior Cats

Meeting the wild cats

Previous Chapter

Spike and I walked into the forest. The huge trees and strange plants grew everywhere, and to be honest I was scared. I didn't want to admit that to Spike. He would probably freak out. I was only a kit myself actually. Around six moons old. I thought of my brother. He was from another litter. He was white and black kinda like me but he was all white with only a few patches of black. His name was Shining. I walked carefully past a rabbit hole. I didn't want Spike to fall off my back and get lost down there.

We walked for around twenty minutes when Spike straighten up and began sniffing the air. I immediately went on high alert. It could be a adult fox! Or a badger! Oh, coming out to the forest was a bad idea! My ears went back. My eyes darted around. But there was no immediate threat I could see or smell. Or hear for that matter.

"Sparkle! There's a cat coming!" Spike said. I sniffed again. He was right. A she-cat, but just any she-cat, a wild she-cat! Okay, okay, my tail may of puffed out a bit. But when the she-cat emerged, I noticed she was just a kitten! Around my age, in fact. She had a rosey colored pelt and bright blue eyes. She looked at me with curiosity rather than anger. Spike wagged his tail, an annoying trait that he 'picked up' from seeing a dog do it.

"Come on, Sparkle! Maybe the cats in the forest have interesting things to talk about!" He said jumping off of me and pushing me toward the new cat. She was my size. But she looked like she was made for hunting. I was normally not shy, but something about her made me uneasy.

"Uhm. Hi?" I said. She stood there for a moment then, her eyes widened. He gasped and ran underneath the underbrush. "Well, that was interesting" I remarked. Spike sighed and we kept on walking.

After a while, we ran into of course another wild cat. This time, the she-cat was not as strange. She was a mix of a light brown and a orange. Her eyes were the color of a dark green fern leaf. She jumped on to me pinning me down. But there was no signs of aggression.

"Howdy, y'all! My name is Applepaw, what's your name?" She asked. She had a very intimidating eyes.

"Ugh. Sparkle? And this is Spike my- Gah!" Applepaw jumped off of me, her ears back, her fur stood up. She hissed at Spike.

"Let me get rid of this, varmint!" She hissed.
