The History of Vasulis
- Prologue - Secret of Ilúvatar
Load Full StoryNext ChapterLong before the War of the Ring or the last alliance of both Man and Elves, the universe was empty save for one being, Ilúvatar, who's origins or past isn't really well known to the Ainur's, Valar's, or Maiar's either. For many in Middle-Earth, he is the God of creation and time, the father of the First children -- the first sapient beings who's rule will last until the end of creation, and the ultimate orchestrator of the song that play's within the empty void. Long had he waited for a moment to spark, and that spark happened, when he created the Ainurs, immortal beings who's powers are so great they shape entire worlds with the palm of their hand. From there on out, he orchestrated the first song in all of creation, a song of harmony and peace that governs the black void. He weaved each and every tune, and perfected this song, the song of his first children; Elves and Men.
Though when there's harmony, disharmony always follows. The Ainur known as Melkor defected and grew ill of this song and seek a much more refine and crude song to his liking, so he started conversing others to join him to this new defection against the First song and create a new one. While many follow the ways of Ilúvatar and his teachings, other's joined Melkor to create a new song. So the first defect of all of creation happened and Ilúvatar care not for it, for he did not take heed of the warnings and glares made by Melkor to defect his perfect song. Each passing day, the First Song grew crude and Ilúvatars fell ill everyday. He asked what has happened to them and listened his perfect song once more, but he did naught hear the song of harmony or peace, but a more crude and upbeat music disrupting his song. He was angered at this and remembered the warnings Melkor gave to him.
He went to Melkor and asked; "Why has thou ruined thy song, thy tune shall not falter and your song must end" Knowing that Melkor has no chance against Ilúvatar, he slowly stopped his defection and continued -- much to his dislike -- the First Song.
Conception of the Alicorns
Long had he pondered; "Which child would raise the sun and moon?" For both Elves and Men or any of his creations don't have the will to bend the celestial bodies itself. He thought of this question for days without end, until the ultimatum was struck; He would create another child, a child that will have some of his essence to bend the celestial bodies, and control the weather from afar. Thus the Alicorns were conceived. He worked on his secret child for hours and his subjects questioned him; What is he doing? Is he creating something?
They finally got they're answer when Ilúvatar raised his Staff of Light and slammed it to the ground, and a planet formed behind them, as well as millions of stars that glitter the night sky. "Behold, my children, for this is your new world; Arda, come upon thee, for thy all of you have an important task to uphold"
And with that the land's of Arda were shaped, conflicts arose and fall, and the Valar's rose to become to world's superpower until he brought down his children. Many years past after the creation of Arda, and time itself, and he has a lot to do for the coming years. The Elves were the first to be conceived and long have they roamed the lands of Arda and it's oceans. However, Melkor stole some of the Elves and tortured them and transformed them into creatures who despised all things beautiful; from the prettiest of sunsets and the shiniest of cities, they despised all things except for their undying loyalty for the Dark Lord and disgusting and horrible things. These stolen Elves, transformed into the Orcs we know today.
Unlike today, Arda's lands were far more different than what we know today. Before all the lands were connected with one another, with the vast ocean being at the east of the land, and the tallest mountains in the centre of the continent. However the war between the Valars and Melkor was so fierce, it shaped the land to what it is today -- and the lands of Vasulis received the worst in the end of the conflict. The battle was so fierce, Vasulis was disconnected from the other continents, thus the continent of Vasulis and Middle-Earth was created.
But the sun was always sitting on the horizon and the moon doing the same, many creatures froze or starve to death, and the Elves had to migrate ever so nearer to the warmest lands in Middle Earth. And when the race of Men was conceived, so were the Alicorns. The rising sun marks the end of the First Age of Arda to the next age; The Second Age. The most eventful age for Arda and it's people.
And this is how Vasulis dealt with the early problems it faced in it's early years.
