Her bright teal eyes fluttered open as the sunlight hit them, awaking her from her slumber. Her mouth opened slightly, a yawn escaping her mouth. Sitting up in her bed, she stretched her soft, yellow wings out, so they wouldn't cramp up when she flew.
This was part of Fluttershy's morning routine.
Her nose twitched slightly as the smell of fresh grass swept through, and she suddenly remembered about the animals that lived in her little cottage, and also the fact that they needed to be fed. Her back hooves moved out from under the sheets, setting themselves softly on the wood floor, followed by the rest of her body. She trotted down the stairs, completely forgetting about her messy bed sheets.
Almost immediately, she was greeting by Angel, and his fussy attitude. She sensed that he was hungry, even though he seemed to claim that he was starving, and if she didn't give him something to eat soon, he would die of hunger. A graceful smile formed onto her lips, as she trotted to the kitchen to prepare him a meal, the clicking sounds of her hooves hitting the wood floor following her all the way.
She quickly and quietly cut up some lettuce, put it in a small bowl, and made her way over to the fussy bunny.
Suddenly a voice spoke behind her.
"Good morning, Fluttershy!"
Discord's shadow swooped over her, as she dropped the bowl, and watched it shatter on the floor. A small squeak escaped her mouth.
"Discord! You scared me!" She scolded as she turned around to face him.
"Well, I mean, that was the point, Flutters." A smirked formed on his lips.
"Thats not very nice, you know.."
"Ah, yes, I always forget you are the element of kindness. Oopsy doopsy, please, forgive me?" He apologized, followed by a sheepish laugh.
Buh bum. Buh bum.
Fluttershy placed a hoof over her heart, feeling it beat dramatically. What is the matter with me?
She sighed. "Alright, I forgive you. Now help me clean up this mess..!" Discord smiled his sly smile, and quickly snapped his fingers. With a flash, the glass was gone, and the lettuce all fresh in a new bowl, placed right in front of Angel. Her eyes widened in shock for a moment, but then remembered he was the lord of chaos. "Thank you." She smiled a gentle smile.
"It was no problem, anything for a friend." That was his response, and she couldn't help but feel a small bit of pain form in her heart. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but relaxed only a second later. This time, she smiled a small forced smile, but it was believed to be a true one by Discord, who grinned. That grin made her blush a small bit.
Buh bum. Buh bum.
Her heart was pounding, and she didn't know why. It confused her so. She took a small breath, and relaxed a bit, her heartbeat slowing down a little. Suddenly remembering she had others to feed, she made her way to where she kept the food. She grabbed a bowl full of nuts, and set it down, watching as the rodents and other animals that ate nuts scurry over to begin munching.
She tensed up a bit when she felt a paw on her shoulder, her blush returning when she realized it was Discord.
"Y'know, you really do have a way with animals." She looked up at him cautiously, and when she did a grin formed onto his face.
"... Thanks.."
Buh bum. Buh bum. Buh bum.
Her heartbeat sped up, and her blush darkened a small bit, but this wasn't unnoticed by the male. A small blush appeared on his own cheeks, his heart beating wildly. He quickly brushed it off, his heartbeat slowing down to its normal rate. He slowly retracted his hand off of her back, much to her own relief, as it felt like her heart was going to explode. She had a tingly feeling from his touch. She could even still feel the warm of his hand on her back, it was almost... comforting. She took a deep breath, another graceful smile forming onto her lips. Fluttershy looked up once again, and watched as Discord stretched his arms up, yawning.
"Well, I think I'm going to take an afternoon nap." He spoke loudly, his voice could be heard from anywhere in the house.
"But, isn't it only the morning?" She raised her eyebrow.
"Flutters, it's like, 2:30. You slept in today."
"I did?!" Her jaw dropped to the floor. She didn't realize how late she had slept!
"Yes, you did." He chuckled lowly, but quietly.
Buh bum. Buh bum.
She blushed in embarrassment, her teal orbs glancing to the side. "Oh." Discord chuckled again, and slowly made his way up the stairs. When he got to his destination, he casually jumped into Fluttershy's messy bed, and almost immediately fell asleep.
Meanwhile, the yellow pegasus was quietly making her way up the stairs. When she reached the top, she saw her friend sleeping in her own bed, snoring softly. Oh goodness, he looks so adorable when he's asleep..!
Buh bum. Buh bum. Buh bum. Buh bum.
Her heart was beating faster then ever, her face blushing a bright red. ...Do I love him? Is this what love feels like? She questioned herself, before slowly walking towards the sleeping male. I think I do.. I think I'm in love. Oh, wow, this is crazy! She squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head quickly. She stood by the bedside, watching his chest move up and down with every breath. That was when she suddenly had a burst of confidence.
Leaning down, she quickly kissed his forehead, her face redder than ever, and then whispered:
"I love you, Discord.."
