Rainbow Dash raced around in the sky towards nowhere in particular.
It was already getting dark and the residents of Ponyville had already gone to sleep.
Rainbow Dash flew over the town at a fast speed and then stopped in the middle of the air after slowing down for a few seconds.
She was already at the end of town. She flew towards a nearby cloud and landed on it and then laid down and enjoyed the air going trough her mane.
As her eyes almost started closing for a well-deserved nap she heard something.
She tried to ignore it at first and rolled over giving an annoyed sigh. She closed her eyes for the second time but the noise got slightly louder.
Her ears went up as she tried identifying what the noise was.
She heard it but couldn't make out what it was. She walked to the end of the cloud and poked her head over the edge looking downwards.
Then she heard it again ''Is that crying?'' Rainbow Dash thought to herself with a surprised look as she heard the sobs becoming louder.
She tried pinpointing where the sound came from but then it stopped.
She flew downwards and started looking around on the small hill. When she looked over a small ridge she saw a purple alicorn lying there crying. She had her head buried in her hooves.
''Twilight?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a surprised and concerned look.
A surprised eep came from the other pony as she looked up.
''Rainbow Dash? What are you doing here?'' Twilight barely said before busting out into tears again.
''It's okay Twi. Everything is gonna be okay'' Rainbow Dash said with a reassuring smile as she pulled her friend into a hug as she tried to calm her friend down.
After a couple of moments, Rainbow Dash started calming Twilight by bringing her hooves trough Twilight's mane.
A minute later Twilight finally stopped sobbing.
''Thank you Rainbow'' Twilight said with red eyes as her gaze met Rainbows.
''Care to tell me why you are crying?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a confused look.
''N-no not really...'' Twilight replied with a frown trying to look anywhere besides at Rainbow Dash.
Rainbow Dash quickly tried changing subjects
''It's getting late. How about you stay at my place for tonight? Since it's quite a fly back towards your place'' Rainbow Dash asked with an encouraging smile.
''Sure. Thanks, Dash...'' Twilight replied still feeling a bit down.
''anything for a friend'' Dash replied with a smile.
Twilight followed Rainbow Dash towards her home.
Rainbow Dash opened the door to her house and walked inside closely followed by Twilight.
''Would you like a sandwich and some warm chocolate milk?'' Rainbow Dash asked as she walked towards the kitchen.
''That would be nice'' Twilight said as she let herself fall onto the cloud couch.
About a minute later Rainbow Dash sat down beside's Twilight with a plate with 2 cups of hot chocolate milk and 2 sandwiches.
''Are you sure you don't want to tell me about why you were crying?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a curious look as she put a hoof around Twilight to comfort her and started drinking some of her chocolate milk.
''S-sure'' Twilight replied with a nervous smile she knew Dash would just keep asking her until she told Dash what was going on.
''You see I kinda.. have this c-crush on some pony...'' Twilight replied as she looked at the ground with a frown.
Rainbow Dash spat almost some of her drink out as she heard what she said.
''Well? Why don't you ask them!'' Rainbow Dash asked with a surprised look.
''Because I'm afraid yo-they will reject me'' Twilight quickly corrected herself as she almost told Dash that she had liked her.
''Come on Twilight. How could somepony reject you?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a reassuring smile Twilight just let out a relieved sigh that she didn't notice that she had almost said you.
''Because she is the complete opposite of me and I don't even know she likes mares'' Rainbow Dash gave a surprised look at the alicorn.
''Wait you like mares?''
''Yes...'' Twilight said with a nervous smile.
''Thank Celestia. I thought I was the only one in our friend group wich was gay'' Rainbow Dash replied with a relieved smile.
''Wait you like mares as well?!'' Twilight asked with a surprised look as a small smile started appearing on her face. ''I might have a change after all'' She thought to herself.
''Isn't it kinda obvious? Have you ever seen me look at a stallion's flank?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a cocky smile.
'I guess not'' Twilight replied still being as nervous as ever.
''So what is this mare's name do I know them?'' Dash asked with a curious smile.
Twilight just looked the other way without replying.
''Oh okay...'' Rainbow Dash said with a small frown as she knew Twilight didn't want to share who she had a crush on.
''Tell you what you had to my bed and I'll sleep here on the couch''
''No!... Could you sleep with me?'' Twilight asked as a small blush started forming on her face lucky enough Dash didn't notice it.
''S-sure'' Rainbow Dash replied with a surprised look at first but that quickly changed into a reassuring smile.
Twilight laid down into the soft cloud bed of Rainbow Dash as a smile appeared on her face.
Rainbow Dash laid down on the other side of the bed.
''Night Twilight'' Rainbow Dash said before rolling over only to be quickly stopped by Twilight's voice.
''Wait!... Would you mind... h-holding me?'' Twilight asked with a nervous smile and a small blush.
''S-sure'' Rainbow Dash replied with a surprised look Twilight had never before asked something like this from her.
Rainbow Dash put a wing over Twilight and pulled her a bit closer.
''This okay?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a smile.
''Y-yes thanks, Dash'' Twilight replied still having a nervous smile on her face.
''Night Twilight''
''Night Dash''
Rainbow Dash closed her eyes unaware of the still awake Twilight next to her.
After a couple of minutes, Rainbow Dash laid there snoring but Twilight was still awake her heart slowly melting at the sight of the adorable speed demon sleeping in front of her.
But then Twilight's eyes locked onto her lips with a burning desire to know what they taste like.
''I can't do this what if she wakes up?!'' Twilight thought to herself with a blush.
But her feelings started to take over and her lips started to move towards Dash's.
After mere moments their lips met in a much-desired kiss. Twilight wings almost unfolded but she held them in place.
Then suddenly she heard Rainbow's snoring stop and her eyes started opening slowly.
Twilight buried her face into a pillow.
''Uh... Twilight did you just kiss me?'' Rainbow Dash asked with a surprised look.
''I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me! please don't hate me!'' Twilight said as she started sobbing again.
''Shh it's alright Twi'' Rainbow Dash said as she slowly started bringing her hooves trough Twilights mane.
''No it's not! I just kissed you!'' Twilight said as she started sobbing louder. Suddenly she felt Dash's lips on her cheek causing her to blush furiously.
''Like I said it's okay'' Rainbow Dash said with a smile.
''Wait you like me as well?'' Twilight asked with a surprised look.
''Well I did think you were hot but I didn't have a crush on you''Rainbow Dash replied letting out laugh
''Why didn't you just tell me Twi?'' Dash asked with a curious look.
''Because I was afraid you would reject me and because I didn't even know if you would even like mares''
''Well was not telling me getting you anywhere?'' Dash asked with a reassuring smile.
''Not really'' Twilight replied with a small frown wich quickly turned into a smile as Twilight's and Rainbow Dash's lips met.
Author's Note
Well, this is my first time doing a one-shot fanfic. This was made in I think under 3 hours.
I just felt like writing something while I'm waiting for my editor to finish editing the next chapter of my other story.
Hope you guys enjoyed it either way and yes I know it kinda feels rushed but hey It's only 1.300 words long!
(Also the title is also a reference to a song. Let's see who first figures out wich song it's a reference too!)
