I ran as fast as I could through the streets of Ponyville, trying to find Applejack, Rarity and the CMC amidst the horde of cookie obsessed zombies. It was just a prank, just a harmless prank! I mentally screamed at myself, tears stinging at my eyes as I continued to run. Doctor Whooves, Derpy Do, Lyra Heartstrings, Vinyl Scratch, they were all zombies now!
It was just a harmless prank I wanted to play on everypony, just to color their mouths rainbow colored! It was going to be hilarious! But… but it went so wrong! Everypony’s a zombie now! But how? How! They were just cookies!
I continued to run until finding the Applejack herself with in front of Carousel Boutique, along with her was Rarity and the CMC. Rarity turned to me, and I thought I saw her sporting a sort of grin. “Why Dash, hello, what is the matter?”
“Guys! We gotta go right now!” I yelled at them, grabbing Sweetie Belle and tossing her onto the wagon we had been lugging all throughout town. There were still boxes of cookies in the wagon, the joke cookies that I had ordered to play the prank. I glared at them, shaking as my heart thudded in my chest.
Rarity huffed, before fixing me with a look. “Look, Rainbow if you want some cookies, you’ll simply have to buy them!” She told me with a sharp look.
W-what? No! I shook my head rapidly, waving my forehooves around in the air. “No no no! That’s not it! We have to get out of here!”
“But why? You don’t want the cookies?” Applejack asked me, raising an eyebrow as I heard the groaning nearby. We all turned to look out into the town, and there I saw them… the herd of rainbow mouthed ponies all slowly coming our way.
“N-no, but they do!” I told them, before flying down to the hitch on the front of the wagon.
“W-what’s wrong with them?” Scootaloo asked, eyes wide in horror.
Without waiting I started to pull. “Come on! We gotta run now!” I told them as I managed to get the wagon rolling. The CMC held onto each other behind me as Rarity and Applejack followed, blasting past some of the zombies.
Just a harmless prank, just a harmless prank, just a harmless prank. I told myself as we ran, moving past the town and down the hill, headed towards Sweet Apple Acres. I saw Granny Smith lumbering in front of us, and I had to steer hard to the left to avoid her as Applejack took the lead.
“Follow me!” Applejack yelled, running towards the barn nearby with Rarity close behind her.
We continued to gallop across the field until we ran inside, and once we were I unhitched myself before flying over to the door and slamming it shut. “Rainbow! What is going on?” Rarity questioned, and when I turned to look at her, I saw she was holding a scared Sweetie Belle close to her.
“No time! We gotta close up everything!” I told her, before running for tools, and thankfully I found a few hammers and nails nearby, AJ joined me and grabbed a hammer as Rarity grabbed some planks.
I didn’t waste time before grabbing some wood myself and flying over to one of the windows. I slammed a board against it, putting a nail in place before hitting it with the hammer I had. This was insane, how could those joke cookies turn everypony in Ponyville into a zombie? It didn’t make any sense at all!
But the more I thought about it, the more I wondered what was in those cookies, some kind of potion that turned ponies into zombie monsters that feasted on foals cookies when they were left unattended? Did they attack bakeries in search of the delectable treat that so many ponies liked?!
…
T-this… this is all my fault…. I came to that conclusion after hammering my final nail into the window, sealing it up as AJ and Rarity finished their owns before pushing the wagon in front of the door. I did this… I turned my friends into monsters…
“Okay, that should hold them off for now.” Applejack said, wiping a bead of sweat from her brow.
“I say, what has happened to everypony?” Rarity went over to her younger sister, as I glanced over to the cookies.
“The cookies,” I told them, flying over and lifting up a box before opening it up, revealing the seemingly innocent cookies inside. The brown crunchy delights that I thought were a harmless joke, I hadn’t eaten any of them of course… if I had known…
I heard Rarity try to stifle a laugh. “The cookies? Are you serious Rainbow Dash? How are the cookies responsible for this?”
“I-I don’t know! But...” I glanced outside, seeing the herd closing in.
I heard Applejack trot up to me, before looking at me with a suspicious look in her eyes. “Rainbow, you got something you wanna tell us?”
I bit my lip. “Okay, I may have switched out the regular cookies for joke cookies that would turn your mouth rainbow colored, but it was just supposed to be a prank!” I explained to her, before flying back over to the window, nearly getting grabbed by several hooves. “Ahh! Whatever you do, don’t eat the cookies!” I told them, tossing the box to the ground and smashing them.
Then I heard Rarity speak.
“But Rainbow,” She started, talking in a weird sort of monotone. And when I turned to look at her, I saw a horrifying sight… her mouth was rainbow colored… “We already did!”
“Gaaaah!” I yelled, flapping back to get away from her as I saw Applejack was in the same shape. “A-AJ?” I whimpered, eyes wide as I felt the tears stinging at my eyes again.
“Cooooookieeeeeeees~” Scootaloo growled out, along with Sweetie and Applebloom.
AJ kicked the wagon out from in front of the door, letting in all of the other townsponies. All of them stumbled inside, moaning and groaning as they reached out towards me. My eyes blurred, and I didn’t waste time before shooting up, blasting through the ceiling and flying away. “AHHHHHH!” I screamed, before flying off into the distance.
I had to do something!
I flew hard and fast, I couldn’t let these zombies get out of Ponyville! I saw them everywhere, and I saw Pinkie Pie lumbering outside of Sugarcube Corner. I flew up to the second story window, making Pinkie… or what was left of her walk back into the shop. I landed in Pinkie’s room, before looking around for something…
I had to fight back!
I found something laying on Pinkie’s vanity, it looked like a chef knife. I went over to it, picking it up and looking at the blade… it was sharp, sharp enough for what I had to do. I shuddered. This was all my fault… I had to make it right…
I heard the stairs creak behind me, and I flew up to the ceiling so hide in the rafters. I saw the faded pink color of my friend stumble up the steps before looking around. “CoooOoooKieeeees~” She moaned, and I felt my heart leap into my throat.
She’s like this because of me…
“I’m sorry Pinkie.” I muttered, and she looked up at me. Before she could even do anything, I fell down on top of her, she gave a sudden yelp as my full weight caused her to fall to the ground. Before she could do anything more, I raised the knife. “I’m so sorry, please forgive me Pinkie Pie!” I yelled, before plunging the knife down.
The sound of my knife piercing her flesh was loud and sickening, her eyes bugged out of her skull as I sunk the blade into her skull. I didn’t waste time before pulling it out and stabbing again, tears running from my eyes as I ended my undead friend’s life, cursing myself for doing this

I stopped, eyes wide as I felt the warm crimson blood running down my chest and face, Pinkie’s body lay still, blood beginning to pool around her as I held the knife in my grasp. I stood up, my breathing heavy as I heard the moans of the Cake Twins…
I wasn’t done yet...
Twilight Sparkle - A Few Minutes After Dash Flew Away
“Hehehe,” AJ chuckled to herself. “We got her good!”
“Well we’re not done yet, we should do a little more~” Lyra suggested, winking as I gave a little nod.
“Okay, just for a few more minutes, this is actually pretty fun and the look on her face is priceless!” I chuckled, before ‘stumbling’ out of the barn, followed by everypony else.
The plan was perfect! Get everypony to act like they turned into zombies after eating Rainbow Dash’s joke cookies to get her back and make her see that not everypony will enjoy her pranks, it was a fantastic plan, and it was all thanks to Pinkie Pie! I really had to give her more credit, now where did she go?
Suddenly, up ahead I saw Button Mash galloping towards me. “I just saw Rainbow run into town! She went into the bakery!”
“I tried, but she flew by really fast and I couldn’t scare her in time!” Button Mash told us, but I saw a hint of worry in his eyes. “She was crying really badly too, is that part of the plan?”
“C-crying? Oh my.” Fluttershy murmured from beside me. “M-maybe we should stop, I d-didn’t mean to make her cry.” She said, and even I felt a bit… offput by that, we just wanted to teach her a lesson.
I honestly didn’t mean to cause Dash to cry.
“Oh shucks, she’s probably just playin’” AJ said, brushing it off as if it were nothing. “Ah’m sure she’ll feel alright after we explain what we did, it was fer her own good after all.”
I sighed, nodding my head. “Yeah, okay everypony! Joke’s over, let’s go find Rainbow Dash!” I told them all, and we all wiped away the stuff covering our mouths before trotting back towards town.
Well Rainbow, I’m sorry we made you cry, but it was for your own good. I reassured my thoughts, smiling slightly. She has to learn that not everypony will find her pranks funny all the time, maybe we went a tad overboard but, I’m sure she’ll come around after we explain. Just like Applejack said.
With that in mind, I sped up a bit.
The walk back into Ponyville was filled with small discussion, about how everypony acted, how well they acted and what they could have done to make their acts a little better. I myself found it somewhat funny, playing such a large prank on Equestria’s biggest prankster was thrilling in a way.
It wasn’t everyday you prank somepony like Rainbow Dash.
Her face, she was so scared! I giggled to myself, holding a hoof to my mouth.
After a bit of silence, Rarity asked, “Where do you think she went?”
“I dunno,” I said, tapping my chin. “She might have gone to her home, or the castle.” With that, I turned around to face the crowd. “Okay everypony, let’s split up and find Dash, we got some explaining to do!”
Everypony gave me a nod, or even a salute before spreading out, calling out to the rainbow haired mare as I went off in search of her at the castle.
Rainbow Dash
I had flown up as high as I could, above the town before heading back to the barn where everypony was before. However they were all gone, no doubt having gone back to town in search of me, to try and turn me into one of them… I landed on the ground, dropping the knife I had as the memory of what I had just done flashed through my mind.
Pinkie Pie, and the Twins… their blood is on my hooves. I told myself, feeling the guilt crash down on me as I started to cry. This was my fault! “Stupid!” I hit myself in the head, before walking into the barn and looking around. On the ground, I saw the lantern was still on. And nearby I saw the wagon filled with the cookies… because of me, I ruined so many lives…
I closed my eyes before shutting the barn door, locking it shut before going over to the lantern. I had murdered my entire town… turned my best friends into monsters… what have I done?
“It was just a prank...” I told myself, as I grabbed a small can of oil nearby before opening it up and spraying it on the hay bales, wood and other things that would easily catch. “Just… a prank.” I muttered, before turning the nozzle of the oil can and dunking its remaining contents on myself. “It’s my fault.” I grabbed the lantern… opened it up…
And tossed it against the ground.
Twilight Sparkle
“Has anypony found her yet?” I called out, before I heard a scream of absolute terror sound. It was coming from the bakery, and it sounded like Fluttershy. “Fluttershy?!” I spread my wings and flew as fast as I could, flying into the main area of the bakery before heading up stairs. I found Fluttershy looking horrified at something, and once I landed… I saw what. “Oh Celestia...”
Lying on the floor, with her eyes closed in a pool of blood was Pinkie Pie… I held a hoof to my mouth, seeing the two bloodied bodies of the baby cake twins. I couldn’t bring myself to speak, my eyes were locked on the bodies as I heard a body fall to the floor, Fluttershy having fainted.
Who… who could have done this? And why?!
“Damn it! Mah barn’s on fire!” I heard Applejack scream, followed by the worried voices of ponies… and the most agonized scream I could have ever heard in the distance.
I felt something wet running down from my eyes as I turned and stumbled down the steps, passing by a worried looking Mr. and Ms. Cake. They said something but I paid them no mind, I couldn’t answer them as I stumbled outside into the streets, where smoke was quickly filling the air. I saw ponies rushing over to the farm as the flames engulfed the barn, and I thought I heard somepony screaming.
“Somepony’s inside the barn!” I heard, slowly breaking me out of my stupor. “Somepony’s trapped inside! Help!”
I shook my head, before taking flight and flying towards the barn. I spotted Applejack trying to put out the flames alongside Big Mac and a few other pegasi who brought out clouds. I helped them, bringing in clouds to try and put out the fire, I wrapped some of the flames in air tight bubbles to snuff them out.
It took a few hours, and by the time we were done the barn had been reduced to rubble and ashes.
Applejack stood next to me, her stetson on the ground next to her as everypony looked at the charred wreckage. I heard the sounds of Ms. Cake wailing all the way from here, no doubt she found the bodies of the twins. I just sat on the ground, unable to even think properly.
“W-who was inside?” Lyra asked, sounding worried.
“Ah don’t know.” Applejack muttered, before moving over to the burned wood and sifting around. “Damn it, how did this start anyway?”
“It must have been that lantern Rainbow dropped.” Rarity replied, helping Applejack. “It must ha-” She stopped, gasping and drawing the attention of AJ.
“Rarity?” Applejack started, as Rarity started to move the wood. I looked up, before going over to help, what had she found?
When I arrived, Rarity and AJ moved a rather large piece of plywood, tossing it to the side. What was under it caused me to gag and cover my mouth as I felt bile rise.
Laying on the ground, charred feathers and burned blackened rainbow mane and bubbly burned flesh… was Rainbow Dash. Her body was burned incredibly bad, her coat burned away, flesh bubbly and covered in a sickly smell that made us gag, bloody blotches covered her legs, neck and body, her wings just charred stumps as a bloody magenta eye flicked around.
I saw her mouth moving, choking noises escaping her as we all just stared.
R-Rainbow? What… why?!
Applejack leaned down to Rainbow’s mouth, her eyes growing wide before I heard the cyan pegasus make some kind of noise before falling still. The farmer sat up, staring down at Rainbow Dash before tears started to run down her eyes.
Rarity walked over to AJ, asking, “What did she say?”
…
…
Applejack turned to us, and the crowd of Ponyvillians that surrounded the burned wreckage. “She said… This was mah fault… and Ah’m sorry… please forgive me.”
Rarity started to cry, tears streaming down from her eyes as everypony around us looked on in shock. I could feel the regret in the air... just a prank we had done to get back at her... and it had all gone wrong.
What was I thinking?
My mind slowly began to shut down… before all went black...
My last thoughts... were...
