Watching Over Us

Part 1 – The Beginning

NOTE: MLP has never been created in this instance of earth, so there are no bronies to freak out over ponies.  But because this is such an early draft that can be changed later if needed…

Earth is ravaged by corruption and evil which ranges from the small crimes such a shoplifting, to large scale government conspiracies and horrendous war crimes.  Small violent groups like Black Lives Matter and the KKK are creating racial tension.  Whereas large worldwide terrorist groups such as ISIS and al-Qa'ida are committing mass killings.  Some countries withhold rights from women and treat them as objects.  LGBT+ communities are having a very hard time being accepted into society, and some places are rejected outright as freaks.  [Continue to list major issues and why Earth needs outside help].  Sadly… Earth has gotten itself into an unrepairable state.  Nobody on earth has the power to mend the corruption anymore.  Outside intervention is needed, but as far as the inhabitants of Earth know they are alone in their universe.  No one is there is there to help…

How wrong they were.

The kingdom of Equestria, more specifically the two royal sisters have been keeping a close eye on the human race the moment they discovered them while Luna astral projected one night where she thought there was no life.  A universe where there was seemingly nothing to support it.  Until she stumbled upon a blue planet upon which she found large cities and towns.  She woke up immediately and alerted her sister she had found life in a place where, in their records, was void of all life.  Both sisters were thrilled and thought of the possibility of making contact with the inhabitants.  This idea proved to be bad, however, when they took a closer look at their way of life.  Life there seemed to be stressful to say the least.  There was tension everywhere.  People were afraid to leave their homes alone at night in fear of getting robbed or outright killed.  They saw how bad it was, but decided not to intervene, for they did not know for exactly how long they had been living like this.  All she knew is that they had to monitor their progress…

Years have passed and Luna saw conditions were getting worse, Luna now knows they call their home Earth and that those tensions have always been present to some degree.  It was the time they prepare for the inevitable…  They needed a team to make the first contact with the planet.  They couldn’t go themselves because they are much too busy ruling over Equestria.  They must carefully select and train two ponies for the job, and only two, for only the most powerful unicorns can only send three ponies to another dimension.  Fortunately, they had found no magical threats present on Earth so they did not need to be trained against that, however, the job obviously still called for a unicorn.  They needed a unicorn who was powerful enough to open a portal to the universe, not just for themselves, but for both members of the team.  It also called for someone to scout out areas from above and to find people in need, so a pegasus was also needed.  The team needed to be trained to be calm and defend themselves in the face of hate or rejection, for they will not be disguising themselves for the entirety of their mission.  Because of the lack of other intelligent species other than themselves, the sudden appearance of talking ponies from another universe may shock them a bit.  Equestria has never thought of, or even attempted a mission such as this before, and this is the story of it.
