this is like the second thing i have typed, its kind of late and so on... so it might not be perfect.

The Arrival

To Canterlot

As Twilight stepped off the train she was greeted by a set of familiar faces, her parents, she had not seen them since Shining Armor's wedding. As usual her dragon companion Spike slowly walked off the train, once off the train he marked "Take the Train to Ponyville" off of Twilight Sparkles long list of unnecessary tasks. The purple pony walked over to her parents hugging her mother saying, " I missed you so much." Her mothers response was pulling Twilight closer to her, replying with " I missed you as well Twilight." Her father only offered to carry the bags for Spike, which he gladly excepted that offer.

The united Sparkle family walked to there home in Canterlot, once there they were greeted by Shining Armor who ran to the three yelling " Twilly, i cant believe you're here, how is Ponyville?"Twilight's father only walked past the colt and the mare going to where Twilight's room was when she was a filly. Twilight looked at her BBBFF smiling only able to let the words "good." Once she finished her conversation with her brother, she walked into her old room while her father was exiting. She was stunned, everything was exactly the way it was before she became Celestia's Student.

Twilight however did notice something, something was different, her father seemed different. The last time she had seen her parents they had acted completely different, they seemed more energetic, it seemed like they were under or casting some sort of magical spell. She laid on her bed thinking of how this could have ever happend to her parents, what could have happened, anything, nothing, "NO!" she screamed, somthing happened and i plan to get to the bottom of it. Something indeed was very odd about how her parents were acting, the only normal acting lifeforms in this house were Spike and Shining Armor.

The next morning Twilight was awoken by the light shining through her opened curtains. She had to get to the bottom of what had happened, she jumped out of bed slamming her hoof into one of the old loose planks in the floor, she cringed in pain sending a loud shriek waking her young dragon. He got out of the basket, still half asleep mumbling something completely inaudible. Twilight finally regaining her grip on reality ran down the hall to her brother room. She opened the door only to see nothing but a suit of armor on his bed. The only reasonable or logical explanation was he was in town or not on guard duty today.

Twilight grabbed her bags, she was going to go to the Canterlot market and try to find her brother. As she was leaving she noticed the carpet was in a different shape, as she went to fix the she grabbed something. She reached down pulling the carpet back, it was a door. Twilight wondered what was inside, but she was terrified to look, instead she got her bags and walked out the door. Twilight had to find her brother, she ran through various parts of the market screaming "Shining Armor" all met with stares from other ponies shopping.

Twilight knew this did not add up, something about the door just seemed all out odd. Twilight had to know what was in it, now. she galloped to her parents house. She opened the door to see her family eating at the dinner table.she walked to the table she noticed that under the table was the same carpet the trap door was under. Twilight just ran to her room, she was going to wait for the perfect time to find out what was under the trap door. Twilight knew that none of this added up, something odd was happening and she was going to get to the bottom of all of it.

That night Twilight laid in her bed thinking, all she wanted to know was what is under that door. Curiosity finally won her over, her horn glowed purple as if some sort of spell had been cast. She jumped off the bed glad Rarity had shown her the noise reduction spell, for once it came in handy. As she walked to the living room she noticed Shining Armors door was slightly cracked but was in a hurry and did not bother to look. There it was, finally she could open the door with no problems but as she cracked the door she heard three familiar voices.

It was her parents, and her brother. What could they be doing at this late of night? She slowly crawled down the ladder, it was dark she could not see, only hear the distant voices of her parents. She hit the ground and snapped out of what she was thinking.She started sprinting as fast as she could, this part of the house was different, something was wrong with it. as she walked through she could see blood stains over various portions of the wall. " What the hell happened here?" Twilight said to her self as she turned to continue forward she was greeted with a familial Shining Armor. All he did was look at his sister for a brief moment of time. Eventually Shining Armor broke the silence saying " Twilly, you need to get out of here right now!" The young mare took her brothers advice and started sprinting back to the ladder.

The purple pony climbed the ladder as quick as she could and close the door. She ran, as fast as she could and jumped under her blanket. Thousands of thoughts ran through her head, but all she wanted was for them to go away. Twilight was scared, it was unlike anything she could have ever dreamed of. What were her parents hiding? Better yet what were they doing, and why had they hidden it from Twilight for all these years?

well that is midnight boredom for you... this is the second thing i have created so it obviously wont be perfect but yea...
