How my life was mine.
Beginnings, Ends, and New Friends
Load Full StoryI guess I should start at the complete beginning, where everything started for me. My orphanage. My orphanage mom ,Helping Heart, has told me the story many times of how I ended up with her. I was born into this world and supposedly as soon as I was received I was given away. Apparently, my birth mother couldn't keep a job for more than a month or two at a time. She could barely feed herself let alone a newborn filly. When Ms. Heart found me, she immediately loved me.
I have always been unique, I guess. I'm the only pony I know of to have a milk chocolate coat fade into gold at the hooves. Then I was teased because I purposefully cut my 'beautiful' burgundy and gold mane into what some call 'a choppy disgrace of unseen beauty'. I agreed I saw no beauty in my bone straight mane so I cut it and I stuck with uneven locks. One day, I actually earned a compliment on my choppy hair, from our trash pony. She and I started talking everyday that we saw each other. One day, the trash pony looked up and hastily said goodbye. I turned around and saw Ms.Heart, scowling at her like the trash pony was a rotten apple. When Ms.Heart saw me staring she plastered on a smile, so fake and stretched thin, one poke and it would've shattered. After weeks of talking with the trash pony, one day she never came by. I waited everyday at our section of fence. Nopony came. If somepony did they sneered at the sight of 'a disgusting, unloved freak'.
Ms. Heart later saw me crying into my pillow when I found out that my only friend besides Ms.Heart had been fired.
"She lost her job because of me." I sobbed hysterically.
"She." Ms.Heart pointed a hoof toward the window in just a general direction." Already lost more than just a job. She lost what could've been the most special pony in the world. She gave you up and you have no right to cry over her!" She scolded sternly.
We were silent for a few seconds. She was letting me process what she had said.
"That's right, Broadway. Treble Breeze was your biological mother."
