It was dark Rainbow Dash had just trained the entire day and was tired.
She opened the door to her cloud house with a smile only to be met by a silence like always. And then her smile turned into a frown.
It was always like this... silence nopony to greet you, to be happy to see you or nopony to hug with.
Sure she could get almost any stallion to do that they fell like bricks for her but she didn't want a stallion.
There is only one pony her heart desired. It had for years and that pony was Twilight.
She was pretty much the complete opposite of Dash. But that made her all the more fun to be around with.
There was just something about being Twilight that showed a side of her that even she didn't know existed.
Whenever they would be together Rainbow Dash felt safe. She felt like she could be herself without her needing to be cool.
Rainbow Dash looked out of one of the windows on the back of the house wich showed a perfect view of Twilight's castle.
Rainbow Dash leaned on the windows and held her head with her hooves looking down upon the castle. With a small smile as she thought about how it would be them together.
That was until a tortoise bumped into the back of her head.
''Ow!'' Rainbow Dash said as she looked back rubbing her head with a hoof. Then she saw Tank and she remembered she hadn't fed him yet.
''Oh I'm sorry'' Rainbow said with a spiteful smile as she walked towards the kitchen. Upon opening one of the cabinets in the kitchen she grabbed some Lettuce and put it in a bowl and waited until Tank started eating.
''At least I'm not 100% alone'' Rainbow Dash said with a small smile as she looked down on her pet before walking over to the window again.
''Night Twi'' Rainbow Dash said with a sigh as she curled up in bed... alone again.
Rainbow Dash opened her eyes. She felt something warm around her.
She rolled over and looked into her loves eyes.
''Hi Dashie'' Twilight said with a welcoming smile.
''Hi Twi'' Rainbow Dash replied returning the smile before locking her lips on Twilights.
After a minute Rainbow Dash broke the kiss Twilight retracted her wings and Dash sat up and looked around.
They were on a sunny beach no ponies no noise nothing but Twilight around her.
''I think this would be a great place to build our vacation home Dash'' Twilight said as she pointed to the area in front of them with a smile.
''It's nice'' Dash replied before locking her lips onto Twilights again and they both slowly closed their eyes.
Rainbow Dash opened an eye and let out a sigh of annoyance as the sun shined into her eyes.
And she let out another sigh. This one was of disappointment. No Twilight holding her no sunny beach just her old cloud house.
She got out of bed and made herself some breakfast.
As she once again sat down at the window looking at the castle.
Then something snapped in her.
''I'm done with it! I'll ask her today! Even if it is the last thing I do! I can't stand this anymore... being alone like this...'' Rainbow Dash said with a frown before noticing she said that out loud.
Rainbow Dash looked at her calendar and a small smile appeared on her face. Twilight and Rainbow Dash had Daring Do/reading night tonight.
''Perfect'' Dash thought before rushing out of the door.
A couple of hours later.
Twilight walked towards the door as she heard some pony knocking on it.
She opened the door and a smile grew on her face as she saw her friend stand in the doorway.
''Hey Rainbow Dash right on time!'' Twilight said with a friendly smile. Normally Rainbow would be either too early or too late but this time, she was right on time.
''Hey Twi'' Dash replied returning the smile. Though Twilight noticed something she seemed a bit ''nervous? Oh, what am I thinking this is Rainbow Dash were talking about!'' Twilight thought to herself with a smile.
Twilight made room for Rainbow Dash so she could come inside and then close the door.
Rainbow Dash then followed Twilight to her small personal library.
Twilight then lit the fireplace and sat down on a pony-sized pillow Dash sat down beside her on another pillow in front of a large window.
Twilight noticed that Dash was tense tonight. She had never behaved like this before.
After reading for a couple of minutes the sweat was almost dripping from Rainbow Dash's forehead.
Twilight finally had enough of it and spoke up,
''Rainbow Dash what wrong?'' She asked with a concerned frown.
Rainbow Dash started having a nervous break down inside. She knew that Twilight would probably reject her.
She closed her eyes and let out a sigh to bring her heart to a more normal rate.
''I need to tell you something Twilight'' Rainbow Dash said with a forced smile her heart once again starting to beat faster.
''Yes?'' Twilight asked with a curious look.
''I have a... crush on you...'' Rainbow Dash said as she could feel her heart pounding faster than it ever had before.
Twilight mouth just hung open upon hearing what she just said for a couple of moments. She was at a loss for words.
''I'm sorry Dash but... I don't like mares'' Twilight replied with a surprised look. This was something she really didn't expect.
Rainbows eyes just shot completely full of tears as she flew straight trough the window in front of the two ponies.
''Dash wait!'' Twilight yelled after her as she took off trying to keep up with the fast pegasus. But it was of no use within 10 seconds the pony was gone from her view. Tears started appearing in Twilights eyes as she realised what just happened.
Rainbow Dash flew straight towards her home smashing open the door and locking it behind her. Before flying towards her bed.
She buried her head into one of the pillows and just cried harder than she ever thought possible.
