Chapter One : The Unexpected Messenger
It was an early morning. Sun was just peaking out from the hills, still shy to show her bright face. Everyone in the Ponyville was still sleeping, dreaming colorful dreams. Everyone, except 5 mares, who were slowly walking towards the shimmering crystal castle of princess Twilight Sparkle.
"You know, Twilight gets more creative everyday it seems." Pinkie Pie giggled. "The way she called us is really something!". "Yeah, who could have imagined, that she would enchant the scrolls to screech!" Rainbow Dash smiled at Pinkie "But it worked! I mean, if she just sent them through Spike without that spell, just the simple scroll, I would be still sleeping right now.". "It's all good that she called us, but she didn't explained why. Does somepony know, why Twilight called us all so early in the morning?" Applejack yawned. "Y'all know that I have work to do. Those apples ain't gonna buck themselves". Rarity glared at her. "Well, my dear, I suppose it's something very important. Otherwise she wouldn't called us all". "I s'ppose you're right." Applejack nodded, "But atleast she could have told us, what's the occation". "Maybe it somekind of surprise?!" Pinkie Pie squealed, jumping around like crazy, "I LOVE surprises!". "Or maybe Twilight is missing one of her books again. Remember last time she called us? She was panicking because she couldn't find somekind of spell book. It was just laying under the Cutie Map, but she almost destroyed her library just looking for it". Rainbow Dash laughed, "I will never forget the face she made, when she realised that she flinged her books from the shelves without a reason". "Well, whatever it is, Twilight needs us." Fluttershy grinned. Everypony nodded in agreement. Finally, they reached the castle. As soon as the ponies stepped on the stairs leading to the castle's entrance, doors opened, and Starlight Glimmer almost pulled confused mares inside. "Starlight, dear, what is going on?" Rarity asked. "No time to explain." Starlight's eyes were full of worry and slight fear. "Twilight is waiting in the throne room". Ponies rushed, where Starlight told them.
The Cutie Map emitted soft, shimmering light, crystals, hanging from the roots of Golden Oak's Library, were reflecting Map's light, filling the room with colorful reflections. Twilight was sitting in her throne, reading a scroll with royal stamp, Spike was sitting next to her looking worried and they whispered something between themselfes. Twilight looked tired, but when she lifted her eyes from the scroll and saw her friends, she greeted them with a warm smile. "Thank you so much for coming" Twilight looked at them "I'm really sorry for pulling you all from the beds so early, but this is very important." Rainbow smiled "Eh, it's no biggie. So what happened? You lost your book again?" Twilight looked at her, her eyes turned serious. "Just some time ago, I got letter from Princess Celestia". "And what does it say?" Fluttershy asked. Twilight unrolled the scroll. "I will read it out.". Everypony sat in their thrones, cutie marks engraved in them flashed, whenever the pony sat down. When everypony was sitting, the Cutie Map started glowing a bit brighter. "Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle, me and my sister, Princess Luna, are writing you with a big concern. You will have a visitor. A very important one. We can't tell you more, in case the scroll ends up in the wrong hooves. There is only one thing I can tell you : as soon as the sunlight touches the star on the top of your castle, you will be visited by a messenger. He will tell you everything what you and your friends need to know. Be carefull Twilight, this might change the whole Equestria as we know it. Signed Princess Celestia and Princess Luna."
There was a moment of silence. "It was a surprise" Pinkie whispered. "This might change the whole Equestria as we know it?" Applejack looked shocked, "What in tarnation, does that s'ppose to mean?". "I don't know Applejack, I wish I knew." Twilight sighed. "As soon as sunlight touches the star... How long do we have to wait?" Rarity asked. "Not too long. Actually, it's almost the time.". Ponies looked at the Twilight, who clearly was nervous. Even Pinkie Pie, who usually couldn't sit still for a moment, was quiet. Suddenly, with the bright beam of light, vivid blue flame appeared above the Cutie Map. Everypony jumped from their thrones and backed away. The flame got bigger and bigger, and started forming into a ring. Few moments later, the ring was big enough for a pony to fit through. The ring stopped growing and started filling with darker blue flames who started moving and twisting. Twilight looked at it, confused and intrigued. Dark blue flames, were forming a tunnel. Twilight awed. "The flames! The flames are forming a portal!" As soon as she shouted that, a silhouette showed up in the end of the flaming tunnel. It came closer and closer, and soon, it emerged from the swirling fire and landed on the Map. It was a blue dragon. He had long pointed spikes running down the head and the back, his wings were gradient : from dark blue to light blue, almost white. The dragon had a fancy looking rucksack, it's brown belt incrusted with gems ran from one shoulder across his chest. Dragon looked around the room, as the flames behind him slowly extinguished, and spoke with nice, calm, royal sounding voice : "I'm looking for Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship. I, the messenger from Blizzard Peaks, have a message for you."
