Volume 1 of 3 - A teenage girl named Dawn Spark learns about the history of her parents Sunset Shimmer and Vincent van Colt. In between, she also learns about the various misadventures their friends and family have had in their youth.

In the year 2038, after a chance meeting with the Dazzlings, seventeen-year-old Dawn Spark becomes curious about the story of her parents, Sunset Shimmer and Vincent van Colt.

With help from their friends and family, Sunset and Vincent tell their only daughter about what their childhood was like, as well as their early to mid-teen years. Many stories have taken place in that time -the death of Sunset's father Noble Shield at the hands of his wife Icy Heart, the first encounter with Starlight Glimmer and Trixie, Flash Sentry and Math Equation's high school rivalry, how their friends Comet Tail and Song Cue became a couple, Blossomforth's obsessive crush on Vincent, the death of Lullaby Strings, and even the return of Celestia's husband Sombra after being missing for sixteen years.

Only one question - will Dawn ever think the same about her parents ever again?

The majority of the story is Sunset/OC with doses of TwiSentry, Somblestia, Rarity/OC, Comet Tail/OC, and many other shippings. Soundtrack based upon the solo Beatles recordings.

Note: This series is completely separate from Equestria Girls, hence the AU tag. The actual show, of course, is referenced within this series.
