When I told mom about this I could tell that she relaxed. I guess she was happy that I even made a friend and won't have to deal with me for some of the days. She immediately put me in front of the house and didn't think at all, not even safety. She gave me a bag full of, something, and my backpack.
I pressed the doorbell on his house I was greeted with -- a filly? He told me that he had no other ponies at his house besides him, his mom, and his dad. She had a big ribbon on her head that I thought was too big.
"Uh, hi."
"Hey..."
We stood there for an awkward moment. A very long one. The filly came to her senses and said, "Hey! Button Mash, somepony is here!" She yelled. Button Mash came running down the stairs.
"Hey Sam, you are probably wondering who she is, aren't you? Her name is Applebloom."
"I'm Applejacks little sister. I help 'er buck the trees sometimes."
Oh. So that's where the apples come from. And once again, another awkward moment came up. Then, two more ponies came from the stairs. What even happens up there?
"That's Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo my two other best friends!"
I just stood there with a blank face, I'm not used to being surrounded by fillys. I also noticed that Sweetie Belle has her eyes fixed on Button Mash a lot. The other's noticed too and giggled. Then they all looked at me like I was some agent trying to get some secret information. They inspected me, especially Applebloom, what's her problem? Then they looked in my bag and took out all the stuff. I didn't say anything. Then after a few seconds they gave me the look as if they were saying, "Approved" and walked away. With my stuff on the floor.
"Hey, if you want to have some fun, come upstairs." Button Mash offered.
I don't think I should be here. I don't want to go upstairs. But I went up anyways as mom already left. I expected to see some weird filly game happening up here, but instead I saw all of them with a very competitive face on, smashing their hooves against the controllers. I never had a game console before, so I didn't know how to react.
"Hey, we have a fifth controller if you want one!" Applebloom offered.
"Ok..." I answered. I took a look around, I saw that Button Mash is really into video games. He had almost every console, from the Joyboy to the PonyStation4! The first thing I thought was, who would let him have this much stuff? I was trying to figure out an answer, until I was interrupted by Applebloom grabing my hoove and pulling me down.
"You gonna play or not?" She said.
"Sure. Why not?"I said. I realized that I was actually pretty good at playing video games. Applebloom went really easy on me, even though I was on the lead. And by the time we finished, it was already midnight.
"Wow its pretty late, didn't know that happened." Button Mash said.
For some reason, when I blinked, my eyes felt like they were on fire! I thought about it and realized that I have not blinked for about 6 hours. So I decided to go to the bathroom and take a look in the mirror and saw that my eyes looked like they were gonna pop out! So I took the time to relax, and closed my eyes for about ten minutes. The redness lightened up just a bit and I looked like a less of a freak. I went back to Buttons room feeling tired, my eyes struggling to stay open.
"I think our parents and siblings forgot about us, wow." Button said.
We all thought about it and agreed with his opinion, as we should have been taken home at least two hours ago.
"Doon't worry, you can just sleep here tonight!" Button said.
"Now it's a sleepover?" I questioned.
"Pretty much. But sadly there is a lack of beds and we don't have a big couch, just those fireplace chair things. Which means that two of us has to sleep with someone else." Button explained.
Before I could reply I was immediately interrupted by Sweetie Belle shouting, "I'm sleeping with Button!
"Wait wha-" then I got interrupted by Applebloom shouting, "Im sleeping with Sam!"
The words made my face redden to the point where it was noticeable. I think. I saw Scoottaloo giggle at me, so it probably was.
"And no, we don't have any other beds or mattresses, or sleeping bags. Just three bed's. Mom is probably sleeping in the fourth." Button said.
Why do you even have four beds? You only needed two! But I guess that was fine so visitors like me won't have to sleep on the cold hard floor. But I was nervous that I was about to sleep with a filly! I never knew that I would be
I was moving away from Manhattan to get to this school somewhere in Ponyvile and I felt hopeless. I have no more friends to rely on and I don't have the confidence to make any friends, so I guess I'm doomed. I just kept my face on the desk for most of the time. One time, a filly tried to make an effort to understand me.
"Hey, you okay? You seem a bit down. What's your name?"
I couldn't believe it. Usually In my other school, nobody would try that. They were always at a risk of being seen by a popular pony and losing their reputation. But mine was so low, that I'm not even worth trying.
"M-m" It just wouldn't come out.
"What did you say?"She asked.
I sucked it up, and tried again.
"Sky Sam..." I mumbled. I heard her chuckle a bit. I took my head and my lump of depression back on the table. Then she changed her expression to a poker face like one. Then she walked away. I didn't know if I should be mad or happy at myself, on one hoove, that was the closest I ever got to making a friend. On the other hoove, I was so close and felt like I was on a curse of not being able to make a friend. I chose the curse. I was not even that smart of a student anyway. I got stressed very easily, I wasn't smart, and I have no kind of talent. I have no cutie mark. My lump of depression took over and scary thoughts came up.
It was lunch, and I sat alone and ate my apple and just when I was about to put the straw in my juice box, a colt with a brown coat and had an orange mane with a little propeller hat came up to me and just stared at my juice box. He looked like he didn't drink anything for the entire day.
"You want it?" I asked.
He gave a quick nod.
I just slowly put in the straw and gave it to him like some kind of waiter. He immediately grabed it and started drinking it like he was gonna die.
"Ahh, thanks for the drink, I thought I was gonna die of thirst. Names Button Mash, what's yours?" He asked.
Don't mess this up.
"I am Sky Sam but you can call me Sam." I said in a medieval like voice. He chuckled a bit.
It was at this moment that I knew, I messed up. Or so I thought. My depression somehow transformed into laughter, I never felt feelings like that for a long time. We laughed a bit more and kept telling each other jokes for the rest of lunch.
"Hey, want to come over to my house?" He asked.
"Yes." I blurted before any second thoughts came up. I couldn't believe it, not only have I made a friend, I'm going over to his house! Could this get any better?
