Chapter 1
Welcome to Inaba
(Canterlot Train Station)
Night time has falling in the city of Canterlot. Everypony within the grand city were either closing up shop for today, or where opening up due to the fact that their shops are only open during the night. Yep, everything was peaceful and quiet in Canterlot...well almost quiet. As a certain disk jockey pony and her classical pony friend were making their way down the street of Canterlot heading towards the train station after finishing up a gig at Canterlot Castle.
“Stupid *hic* Neon Lights. He thinks he so *hic* cool with his music and stuff.” Vinyl said, making her way down the the train station of Canterlot in a drunken state of mind. “I’ve should’ve won that DJ *hic* death battle.”
“You lost fair and square Vinyl. Was it really necessary for you to drink to the point to where you’re drunk?” Octavia groaned, walking next to her friend while listening to her complain in a drunken stupor.
“I’m not drunk...just off my A *hic* game.”
“You almost tried to clear out all the liquor in the entire tavern! Not to mention that you were trying to advance on me in the most ridiculous of ways…” Octavia snapped back. “You really need to stop drinking so much.”
“The day I s-stop drink is the day we move to *hic* new place.” Vinyl said as she collapsed onto the floor. “And that won’t happen any...time...soon.”
Octavia rolled her eyes as she had to pick up her friend and place her over the shoulder as she carried her over to the nearby platform, but not before walking over to the station pony. “Two to Ponyville please.” She asked as she handed the young youthful pony four bits.
“Here you go ma’am.” He smiled as he looked at Vinyl being carried. “Long night huh?”
“You have no idea.”
“Well at least you can enjoy the nice trip back to Ponyville. Especially on a night like this one.”
“Let’s hope so.” With a simple nod, Octavia made her way to the platform and waited for the train to arrive. When a train did arrive though, something seemed off. “Huh, odd. The train for Ponyville doesn’t normally look like that .” She thought to herself as the cellist walked inside and set her friend on the first seat she could find. Preferably by a trash can for if she wakes up and ends up sick because of the amount of alcohol she had consumed. As the train began to move, a sudden feeling of fatigue rushed over her body. After carrying her from the tavern next to Canterlot Castle and to the train station, it wouldn’t be a surprise for that to happen. Failing to fight off the urge to sleep, Octavia soon drifted off into slumber land. As soon as the train began to entered into a tunnel. A sapphire glow envelop around the DJ pony as she soon disappeared.
(Velvet Room)
Vinyl moaned for a bit before starting to slowly opening her eyes. As her vision began to clear up a bit from the sudden grogginess, a surprised expression appeared on her face as she finds herself in what she could guess was the inside of a carriage. Only this carriage wasn’t being pulled by anypony and from looking outside it was completely foggy to the point where you could rarely see anything. “Where the hay am I?”
“Welcome to the Velvet Room.” An odd voice soon began to echo all around her as the unicorn tried to find out who was saying that. Soon though, the fog began to clear up and she saw a man with a very long nose at a table.
“Whoa! Dude, what happen to your nose? No offense or anything, but dear Celestia that’s on long ass nose...wait a minute. Who the hay are you?”
“Ah, it seems we have a guest with an intriguing destiny.” The man chuckled to himself as he looked at Vinyl.
“My name is Igor and I am delighted to make your acquaintance.”
“Okay… Igor. Mind telling where I am and how I got here? Wait did you ponynap me or something?”
“Patience, I am getting there,” Igor insisted. “This place is between dream and reality. Mind and matter. It is a room that only those bound by a ‘contract’ may enter. It may be that such a fate awaits you in the near future.” Once he was done speaking, he moved one of his arms in a gesture to say that it was Vinyl’s turn to speak. “Now, why don’t you introduce yourself?”
“Vinyl Scratch, but most ponies call me DJ-Pon3 when I’m playing at clubs and stuff.” Vinyl said as she lean back in the chair she was sitting on.
“Hmm, I see…” Igor said. “Now, let’s take a look into your future, shall we?” In a split second, Igor extended his hand to the table that was in front of him as Vinyl could see a deck of cards on the table. “Do you believe in fortune telling?” With a snap, seven cards quickly landed on the table in a hexagon shape with one in the center. “Each reading is done with the same cards, yet the results are always different. Life itself follows the same principles, doesn’t it?” He chuckled once more as he posed the question to Vinyl and turned the first card in the right hand corner.
“Hmm…the Tower in the upright position represents the immediate future. It seems that a terrible catastrophe is imminent.” Igor explained, turning another card. “The card indicating the future beyond that is…the moon in the upright position. This card represents ‘hesitation’ and ‘mystery’…Very interesting indeed.”
“And what the hell is all this suppose to mean?” Vinyl asked as she tilted her glasses up a bit.
“It seems you will encounter a misfortune at your destination, and a great mystery will be imposed upon you.” The man explained once again. “In the coming days, you will enter into a contract of some sort, after which you will return here. The coming year is a turning point in your destiny. If this mystery goes unsolved, your future may be forever lost. My duty is to provide assistance to our guests to ensure that doesn’t happen.” With a swipe of his hand, the cards disappeared and also, Igor remembered something important. “Ah! I have neglected to introduce my assistant to you,” He said while moving his hand to introduce the woman that was to his left. “This is Margaret. She is a resident of this place, like myself.” The woman then nodded her head as she this time spoke up.
“My name is Margaret. I am here to accompany you through your journey.”
“Wait, what do you mean my journey?”
“We shall attend to the details another time, but until then… Farewell, Ms. Scratch.” Igor said as Vinyl’s vision began to blur and she began to feel tired.
(Real World, Morning)
[Attention passengers, we will arrive at the Yasogami Terminal in a few minutes. Passengers heading for Inaba City and Yasoinaba station, please go to the other side of the platform.]
“Ugh...five more minutes…” Vinyl said to herself before trying to open her eyes a little. Right away, something did not feel right to her. For one thing, the wooden seats that would be on a train from Canterlot to Ponyville were replaced with something that felt like a mini-sofa. Another thing was that she… felt different. Like something was missing.
“Vinyl, GET UP DAMMIT!!”
“GAH!” In a fit of shock and startlement, Vinyl quickly woke up from her sleep as she immediately fell to the floor of the train she was on. “Geez Tavi, give me a heart attack why don’t yeah. Why did you yell at me like that?”
“Why else. Look around you!” She said, looking back at her.
“You’re not being very descriptive about that Tavi. Aren’t we on the friendship express to Ponyville?” Octavia groaned, shaking her head as she looked back at her.
“Does this look like the Friendship express to you?” She asked Vinyl as the train was coming out of the tunnel. Immediately once the light filled the room, the DJ’s question was answered… and replaced with a new one.
“WHERE THE BUCK ARE WE!?!”
Chapter 2: Warm Welcome my Flank

“Oh buck, oh buck, oh buck, oh buck!” Octavia said, still shocked at the fact that they were not in Equestria anymore. “How they hay did this happen?”
“I don’t know? I was still knocked out, so I figure you’d wake me up when we got back to Ponyville...You fell asleep while I was knocked out didn’t you?”
“Well excuse me for being tired for carrying your drunken flank around Canterlot! Ugh, it’s the Canterlot wedding all over again. Only this time we end up in a strange place with no idea on how we got here.”
“Calm down Tavi.” Vinyl said as she pulled herself off the floor. “I’m sure we can just ask somepony where we are and who we can get back. I mean it can’t be that hard, right?”
“R-Right, right. We just need to stay calm, and just ask somepony where we are and how to get back to Equestria.” Octavia said, rubbing the back of her head. “Okay, so from what I’ve heard on the intercom. He said that we were gonna be heading to a place called Inaba in a few minutes.”
“Inaba? Sounds like something you would hear in Neighpon. Wait are we heading to Neighpon?”
“I doubt that seeing how you need to take a chariot or a boat to get there. Not to mention that no trains from Equestria are not connected to Neighpon.”
“Well that doesn’t give us much to go by does it? Maybe we got teleported here by magic or something?”
“Unless you know somepony other than the princess that can do that. Thinking about how we got here isn’t helping us. Let’s just ask somepony in this town call Inaba, and see how we can get back home.”
“Agreed.”
(Yasoinaba Station)
The train began to slowly stop in front of the train station’s platform. As the doors to the train cart opened up, Vinyl and Octavia exited the train as they looked around at their new surroundings. It was a bit surprising to them seeing how this place called Yasoinaba was strangely but almost similar to Neighpon. Well, minus the flashy build boards, electricity, vending machines, and Celestia knows what else. Making their way out of the station, Vinyl slightly pulled up her shades as she looked around at their surroundings.
“Geez, look at this place. It looks like Neighpon only...different.”
“Indeed. The language are the same, just a bit different.” Octavia said as she squinted her eyes at the japanese writing above the train station entrance. “Y-Yaso...i...i...naba...ugh I neighponese is getting rusty. I can barely read what it’s saying.”
“Try not to strain yourself Tavi. Let’s just hope somepony here speak Equestrian and can tell us where we are.” Vinyl said as she patted the earth pony’s back for comfort.
“That might be hard seeing how there’s nopony around here. I mean this is a train station after all. You think there would be some...pony...here.”
“You okay Tavi?”
“Um...Vinyl.”
“Yes?”
“I don’t think we’re in Equestria.”
“What makes you say that?” Vinyl asked as Octavia pointed a finger next to the DJ. The unicorn looked to her left as she saw a human with black colored hair, green eyes, a blue hat on her head, and was wearing a punky rockstar outfit that she thought that she would wear if she was into rock-n-roll music, or if she was DJing.
There was awkward moment of silence between both the ponies and the human, until Vinyl decided to break it by saying something.
“Sup.” The DJ pony said as she waved a hand at the girl, who in turned waved back at them awkwardly.
“Um...hi...Who or what in the world are you two?”
“I’m Vinyl Scratch, and the pony beside me is Octavia Melody.” Vinyl answered as she point a thumb at Octavia who was waving and smiling awkwardly. “We’re ponies.”
“.....O-Okay.” The girl said as she backed away a bit with a mixed expression on her face.
“Oh, perfect, you speak equestrian. Hey you wouldn’t happen to know where we are by any chance do you? We’re kinda lost and have no idea on how to get back to Equestria.”
“I...have no idea what you’re talking about...wait are you two cosplayers or something?”
“The hay is a cosplayer?”
“Someone that dress up as their favorite character from their favorite anime or cartoon show. So are you cosplayers or not?”
“I can assure you that we’re not cosplaying .” Octavia said as she flopped her ear. “We’re ponies.”
“S-Sure you are, and I’m the club leader of the crazy people club.” The girl said in a sarcastic tone. “Whatever, I don’t have time for this.” She said as she walked pass Vinyl and Octavia.
“Geez, and here I thought your parent were rude Tavi.” Vinyl said as she turns her attention back at the girl who was still walking away from them. “At least tells us where the nearest town is at!?” She yelled only for the girl to ignore her and continues walking off. “Man not only is she rude, but she’s a total bitch as well.”
“You can’t really blame her for acting like that. If I was in her shoes, then I would want to get away from us...though she could have done it better then come off as rude.”
“Whatever, let’s just fine a town or something that can help us. Maybe this place as a map that can lead us to a town.”
“You mean over there?” Octavia said as she pointed at the build board with a map on it next to them.
“How did we not see that?”
“I guess because we got sidetracked by that weird hairless ape creature thing.” The Earth pony said as she looked over the map of she could guess was Yasoinaba. “I can barely understand some of it, but I think we’re right now at the train station. So if we take this road from here, then we’ll be heading to this town here.”
“Hm,” Vinyl lifted her shades as she looked up at the sky. “Well it’s morning, so we might be able to make it there by noon time today. Unless we can get a ride into town, then we’re gonna have to hoof it and walk.”
“You think we can catch a but to this town?”
“If it goes just like with that creature from before, then we might as well hoof it to town.” Vinyl said as she started walking. “If we run half the way, we might make it before the sun begins to set.”
“The one time I’m glad I didn’t bring my cello with me.” With a sigh of dread, Octavia followed after the DJ pony as they made their way down the road that lead to Inaba.
(Inaba)
Inaba, a rural town in japan that is located near the countryside. Despite it being near the country, it’s a somewhat peaceful place for those who enjoy the quiet countryside, going to the Amagi Inn to enjoy the local hot spring, food, and relaxation, or going to the town’s most famous shopping market Junes. Besides the town history, culture, and low criminal activities in the town, Inaba is a nice and relaxing town. Off in the distance next to the bus sign and gas station, A bus could be seen stopping in front of the sign as people started to get off of it. As the bus was about to leave, Vinyl and Octavia quickly jumped off the roof of the bus as it drove down the street away from Inaba.
“Well that could’ve gone better than expected.”
“I can’t believe you got me to do this. Especially on that...whatever in Equestria is that strange carriage.”
“Well at least it didn’t take us all day to get here. Not to mention we didn’t have the right currency for the carriage, so why not just hop on top and ride for free without anypony noticing?”
“Because it’s illegal to do that! I mean seriously what if the royal guard or some kind of law enforcement saw us on top of that?”
“Oh come on, you gotta lighten up a bit Octavia.” Vinyl said as she placed a hand on Octavia’s shoulder. “We’re here now, so there’s no point in worrying.”
“You saying that is not making my anxiety feel any better.” Octavia said as she felt her stomach beginning to growl. “I really need something to eat.”
“How many bits do you have on you?”
“Fifty-five bits. What about you?”
“Five hundred bits.” Vinyl said as she reached into her pocket to pull out a bag full of bits.
“How did you even get this much bits?”
“I save up my bits at times depending on the places I perform. Mostly in Canterlot or Manehatten, those are the biggest places I get paid a lot more than anywhere else. Come on, let’s see if this place has a fast food place or something that accepts Equestrian currency.”
“You are taking this way to well Vinyl.”
“Well one of us has to.” Vinyl said as she and Octavia began to walk down into the shopping district of Inaba. As the duo made their way down the street, some of the people that were standing outside or walking down the street were looking at the two with questionable looks. Mostly because it was either the way they look, or because of the fact that they were seeing weird anthropomorphic ponies that you would see in a child’s cartoon show walking down the street of Inaba.
“Those weird creatures are looking at us.” Octavia whispered as she walked up close to Vinyl.
“Well what do you expect? We’re ponies walking into a town full of weird hairless ape creatures. You can’t expect them not to look at us like they did back on that strange carriage thing.”
“I really wish you take this more serious Vinyl. I mean, what would happen if somepony tries to attack us or something worse?”
“What can be worse than what we’ve seen in Equestria. I mean we live next to a forest filled with monsters. So I’m pretty sure we can handle with anything this place has to throw at us.” Vinyl said as she caught a whiff of something tasty.
“You smell something?”
“You bet your sweet flank I do. Come on, it’s this way down the street.” Vinyl said as she rushed off down the street. Moments later the DJ pony appeared in front of what she could guess was some kind of restaurant. What with the lingering aroma of food coming from out of the building.
“What...is this place?”
“I don’t know. But whatever it is that’s making that delicious smell, has got to have some food in there.” The unicorn said as she open the door to the building as she and Octavia entered inside. As the doors to the restaurant opened, the musicians eyes widened as the inside of the building was almost similar to the restaurants they’ve visited back in Equestria. Only this one was a bit smaller, they couldn’t read the language that was written on the signs, and there were humans in the restaurant then ponies. “Well, looks like we found ourselves a place to eat.”
“What makes you think we can eat here?” Octavia asked as she notice the humans staring at her and Vinyl. “Oh dear, they’re staring at us.”
“Like I said before, be prepared for them to look at us like that.” The DJ said as she walked over to a seat next to a human male.”Come on Tavi, have a seat.”
“This is so embarrassing.” Octavia said as she tried not to look embarrassed as she took a seat at the counter next to Vinyl.
“Yo! My friend and I would like to order something off the menu!”
“Welcome, how can I help you two today-.” The man in the kitchen paused halfway into his sentence after seeing Vinyl and Octavia.
“Hi, we would like to order something please.”
“...Um...w-what would you like to order…” The chef asked, still shocked at what he’s seeing in front of him. “Question, are you two cosplaying for something or what?”
“This is the second time someone asked us this. We’re not cosplaying dude, we’re ponies. Living, breathing, talking ponies. What, you never seen one before or something?”
“Vinyl, please don’t make a scene while we’re here. We’re trying to get something to eat, and I prefer not to get thrown out of here with getting something to eat.” Octavia said, tugging on the DJ’s tail.
“But...fine…” Vinyl said, sighing as she looks at the chef. “You got anything to eat?”
“W-What would you like to order?” The chef asked as Vinyl tires to look at the menu on the board above the chef.
“Give us today’s special.” Vinyl said as she chef when back into the kitchen to prepare their orders.
“Do you even know what’s on the menu here?”
“No but it’s not like we could’ve asked him. That would make us look stupid.”
“More like make you look stupid, but that didn’t stop you from acting stupid.”
“Octavia, since when have I ever done anything stupid?” Vinyl asked in a playful tone.
“You mean that drinking contest you had with Neon Lights wasn’t you acting stupid?”
“.....Okay besides that one.”
“I can pull out a list of things you’ve done that were stupid from the day we met to now.”
“Oh yeah, well….shut up.” Vinyl said as she sighed in defeat.
“How many time would this be that you lost an argument with me?”
“Sorry for interrupting ladies, but your food is ready” The chef replied as he gave the mares their order. “Here you go, tropical vegan surprise.”
“Whoa, talk about going fancy.” Vinyl said as she picked up a pair of chop stick and tried to eat her bowl of ramen. After a few tries, the mare was able to get a piece into her mouth. “Sweet Celestia this is good!”
“I really wish you would lower your voice when we’re out in public like this.” Octavia said as she begun to start eating. “Although I do have to admit, this is pretty good.”
“Glad you like it. Most folk don’t order the special that much.” The chef said as he placed a mini plaque with a small piece of paper. “Here you go.”
“Uh… What’s this?” Vinyl asked, partially confused.
“You’ve never seen a receipt before?” He asked, a little surprised. “You still need to pay for the meal, even if you two are a nice change of pace from the usual customers we get.”
“Um, any idea on what it says Tavi? Because I can barely read this.” The DJ asked as she handed Octavia the piece of paper.
“Umm...I can’t tell either…I think it’s…42…something?” The cellist replied. “Maybe a few bits can work here.”
“That’s all I needed to hear.” Vinyl smirked, reaching into her pocket to pull out fifty bits and placed them on the counter. “There we go, that should do it.”
The chef took a moment to inspect the coins… before looking back at her. “What the hell is this? This isn’t yen… Are you trying to dine and dash, ladies?”
“The buck are you talking about? I paid the damn check. And even if it’s not your currency, these bits should cover it seeing how they’re made of gold.”
“These bits of yours look more like fake gold… and I also don’t like your attitude, lady.” The chef replied, just as two other people walked into the restaurant.
“Excuse me! I work hard to get these bit where I come from buddy. Compared to what you do, I get get paid a lot more when I’m DJing at a club!”
“Vinyl, please for the love of Celestia don’t make a scene here of all places. Especially if the law enforcers end up coming in here because you’re causing trouble.” Octavia pleaded, only to go on deaf ears as she watch Vinyl continue arguing.
“Is there a problem?” One of the two people that walked in a few moments ago asked as she went to where the argument was unfolding.
“This customer is trying to dine and dash on me by paying with fake yen!” The Chef retorted, causing Vinyl’s anger to stir up.
“We’re not you hairless ape!” That had the woman that was there take out something she kept in a holster on her hip as she pointed it at Vinyl.
“Ma’am, please calm down or I will have to taze you.” She warned, while her partner was watching.
“Kiss my flank bitch! I’m not going anywhere until this guy takes my bits-!” Just as she said that, Vinyl was shot by the woman’s taser as she was subdued to the ground and shocked by the dispensed electricity. “OH GODDESS, THIS IS THE WORST… PAIN!!!” While Vinyl was on the ground spasming in pain from the taser, The police officers turn their attention at Octavia who sighed as she raised her hands up.
“It’s Canterlot all over again.”

Chapter 3: Meeting Detective Dojima and Adachi
Chapter 3
(Morning, Inaba Police Station)
“Ugh….Did anypony get the number of that carriage?” Vinyl asked as she began to regain consciousness.
“I see you’re finally up Vinyl.” Octavia said as she looked at the DJ pony with an annoyed expression on her face. As the DJ lifted herself up a bit, she found Octavia and herself in a small room with a bed, a TV, and a table at the center of the room.
“Where the hay are we?”
“We’re in jail thanks to you and your outburst at the restaurant.”
“So we’re pretty much in jail? I would’ve imagine it be more...well like the ones back in Canterlot.”
“We’re in a different world Vinyl. You can’t expect everything to be the same….then again I’m not surprise we’re here in this place.”
“Oh come on, it’s not we’re in trouble or anything?”
“We are in trouble! Thanks to you we’re in this world’s jail cell! Who knows what will happen to use now! We might end up being taken away to some secret room with no chances of escape!”
“Oh come on, I doubt they’re do that. And if that were to happen we can just teleport out of here with my magic.” Vinyl said as her horn lite up. “Remember?”
“Oh..right...um....”
“You totally forgot I had magic didn’t you?”
“No...I was just figured they would have something that would...um...block your usage to use magic.” Octavia said as her face turned a shade of red from embarrassment. “Shut up!”
“Haha! You totally forgot about it-” Before Vinyl could finish her statement, the door to the cell they were in opened up. Entering the room from what they could tell was a rugged looking man wearing a gray dress shirt, red tie, and black pants. Next to him was a squany looking person wearing the same clothes at the rugged man only he was wearing a black jacket and had on a white dress shirt. As the two entered the room they soon walked over to the table in the middle of the room. The rugged man motion the two mares to come over to the table as they took a seat in front of them.
“Are these the ones that were brought in last night Adachi?” The rugged man asked.
“From what the officer said, these are the two that were arrested last night for causing a disturbance at the noodle shop, Dojima-san.” Adachi said as he eyed the two mares. “Two cosplayers were causing a ruckus in the noodle shop.”
“We’re not cosplayers you idiot. We’re ponies.” Vinyl said, glaring at the man name Adachi.
“Right...mind telling us your names please?” Dojima asked.
“I’m Vinyl Scratch, and this is my lovely friend Octavia Melody.” The DJ pony said as she jerked a thumb at the earth pony, who placed a hand on her own face.
“Is it too late to get different cell all to myself?” Octavia asked as she felt her friend pull her in for a hug.
“But Tavi. If you get a cell to yourself, that means we won’t be able to cuddle with each other~” Vinyl said as Octavia tired to push her away from herself.
“Hey!” Dojima yelled, as the ponies turned their attention towards him. “I asked for your names, not whoever you’re cosplaying as.”
“That is our names dude. We’re ponies from equestria that just happen to end up here by mistake. So if you could let go now, we’ll be on our way back home...if we can find a way back home that is.” Vinyl said as she notice Dojima and Adachi look at each other with for a moment, then back at the DJ Pony and the musician.
“Sure you are, and I’m the king of crazy town.” Adachi said with a sarcastic tone in his voice. “You expect us to believe your ponies from the magical land of Equestria ? I may not be the smartest person around, but you really need to come up with a better lie then that.”
“Mister...Adachi, right?” Octavia asked as Adachi nodded. “My friend here is speaking the truth about what we are and where we come from. I know it maybe hard to believe, but you have to believe her when she said that we’re not from here.”
Dojima simply sighed in annoyance as he placed a hand on his face before looking at the two mares with a serious expression on his face. “Okay, say that we believe you. Do you have proof to make your claim?”
“You want proof huh?” Vinyl said as she pulled herself away from Octavia. “Where we come from, unicorns can use magic. Wanna see a unicorn like myself levitate your friend Adachi?”
“You levitate me?” Adachi asked as he started laugh. “Oh I would love to see that kid. Go ahead, give it a try.”
“Gladly.” Vinyl’s horn began to glow as a magenta colored aura surrounded itself around Adachi, as he was levitated into the air. Both Dojima and Adachi were dumbfound at what just happen, well mostly Adachi who was flailing his arms around in the air while yelling at Vinyl to put him down. The DJ pony shrugged as she placed him back on the ground gently.
“....Could you explain the situation you two are in. Spare no details in how you ended up here.” Dojima asked, as he looked over Adachi. “Get a piece of paper and write this down Adachi.”
“R-Right, Dojima-san.” Adachi said as he quickly pulled out a notebook and pen from his pocket, and began to write.
“Well it all started last night before we got here. I was pretty much drunk after losing a drinking contest with Neon Lights.”
“Neon Light?”
“One of Vinyl’s friend/rival back in Canterlot.” Octavia answered.
“.....Okay….um...how old are you two?”
“We’re seventeen.” Vinyl answered.
“Aren’t you a bit young to be drinking alcohol?” Adachi asked.
“What are you my mom or something? I live on my own back in Equestria...well me and Tavi do live on our own, but you get what I’m saying right?”
“What’s the drinking age for your town called….Equestria?”
“Actually Equestria is a country, we live in Ponyville.” Vinyl said as Adachi and Dojima looked at each other for a moment, then back at Vinyl. “What?”
“All this you are telling us is kinda hard to believe. I mean it sounds like something you would hear in a child’s fairy tail book or a cartoon show.” Dojima said as he scratched the back of his head.
“I know a spell that might be able to help with convincing you.” Vinyl said as her horn started to glow. “Want me to cast it on you?”
“I prefer that you don’t ma’am. Can you please continue with you explaination?”
“Yeah, yeah. Now where was I again...ah right. Okay so I was pretty shit faced drunk after l lost the drinking contest with Neon Lights, so I had to call Octavia to come and pick me up from the bar in Canterlot. I don’t really remember much of it seeing how I was going in and out of consciousness, but I do remember Octavia getting me on the Pony Express.”
“Vinyl was pretty much knocked out when I brought her on the train. Weird thing about the pony express was that it didn’t look like the one that usually come to Canterlot. It looked like the train was replaced or upgraded to a better working train.” Octavia added.
“So you got on the train that you didn’t know and for some reason it brought you two here to Inaba, correct?” Dojima asked as the two mares nodded. “Would it possible to take the same train that you both were on from the Inaba station back to your country?”
“I...don’t know really. I mean we don’t know if that’ll work or not...wait.” Octavia looked over at Vinyl. “Vinyl, can’t you teleport us back to Equestria?”
“Can’t really do that.” Viny answered.
“Why not, you do know how to teleport right?”
“I do, but can’t teleport from a different country like we’re in right now.” Vinyl’s horn began to glow brightly for a moment before it disappeared. “I can use some of my other magic and teleport from places that I know around here if I’ve been there before. But with the magic that I have, you’ll have to be an Alicorn to do that.”
“Alicorn?” Adachi asked in confusion.
“There are four types of ponies in Equestria. Earth Ponies, Unicorns, Pegasi, and Alicorns. Octavia is an Earth Pony and I’m a Unicorn as you just saw when I lifted you into the air.”
“R-Right, and what each of your types of ponies do per say?”
“Earth Ponies are well in tune with the earth around them. So they’re pretty good when it come to farming or lifting heavy things, Unicorns can use magic which is pretty much self explanatory, Pegasi can pretty much fly in the air and control the weather in Equestria, and Alicorns are pretty much like all three types mixed into one and have a ton of magic.”
“So in a why, you two are stuck here until you’re able to find a way back home?” Dojima asked as Vinyl nodded.
“Well that or until our princesses figure out that we’re gone and try to find us...but I have my doubts on that one.”
“You’re taking this way too well and calm Vinyl.” Octavia said as she had a deadpanned expression on her face. “What if nopony finds us and we’re stuck here forever...no offense Mr. Dojima sir.”
“None taken, your friend is right by the way. Don’t you want to get back to your country?”
“Well yeah, but it’s not like I can become an alicorn with just a snap of a finger.” The DJ Pony said as she snapped her fingers. “All we can do now is wait and see how things turn out.”
“Hm...well seeing how you two aren’t from this world, and from what you told me and showed. I’ll let you both out of here.”
“Wait really? ”
“Dojima-san, are you sure that it’s wise to let them go?” Adachi asked as he finish writing. “I mean from the report said they did try to skip out on their meal last night.”
“Hey, I paid the guy with the bits that I had on me.”
“With what? Fake money that you would see in a board game?”
“No.” Vinyl said as she pulled out a bit from her pocket and levitated it in front of Dojima and Adachi. “That bit is made out of gold, so should this place be able to accept this?”
“Adachi, take this..um...bit to the boys down in the crime lab to see if what Vinyl said is true.” Dojima ordered. Adachi was a bit hesitant to grab the bit floating in front of them, but quickly grabbed it and began to make his way out of the room. “Now back to what I was saying. You two are free to go, but you will be living with me for the time being until you can find a way back home.”
“Ah what? You can’t be serious?”
“Vinyl, think about it. Do you really think that anypony will give us a place to live in? Not to mention do I need to remind you of what happened last night?” Octavia asked, which caused Vinyl to groan in annoyance. “I prefer not to get into trouble again, and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to get hit by that weird device they used on you correct?”
“Okay, I get it. I don’t need you to remind me of my fuck ups. Alright Dojima, what are the rules when we go to your house?”
“You are not allowed to go out late at night, you can’t bring any alcoholic drinks into the house. I prefer not to have you smell like alcohol while my daughter is at home. Try not to cause trouble to the point where you are arrested and I’m being called in to get you out of the station. Seeing how you both are Seventeen, you will be going to school here as well.”
“.....Is it too late for me to say that I was lying about being a pony from Equestria?” Vinyl asked as she felt Octavia elbow her in the rib. “Ow!”
“Not that I’m against the conditions upon living with you, but wouldn’t going to school be a problem?” Octavia asked.
“Tomorrow we’ll be going over to Yasoinaba High School. We’ll explain the situation with them and hopefully they’re willing to let you both in for the time being. This will give you an insight on this world’s history and culture.” Before Dojima could continue, he notice Adachi walk back into the room with a surprised expression on his face. “That was quick, so what Vinyl said was true?”
“She’s telling the truth.” Adachi said as he handed the bit back to Vinyl. “Despite it looking like something from a child’s board game, that bit is worth fifty-thousand yen.” He said, which caused Dojima’s eyes to widen as he looked over at Vinyl and Octavia.
“How much...um...bits do you have?”
“Well combined with Octavia’s and a few that I lost last night...I say about five hundred forty-nine left. And seeing how what you told me how much each that would be...what like twenty-seven million yen or something right?” Vinyl asked. “Wait wouldn’t that mean we’re freaking rich or something?”
“I doubt it seeing how we can’t use our currency to buy stuff with it here.”
“Actually you can, but you need to have it in our country’s currency. I’ll see what I can do about that, but for now.” Dojima pulled away from the table he was sitting at, and motion Vinyl and Octavia to follow him. “Let’s get you both situated with your living arrangements.”
“This day just gets weirder and weirder by the second.” Octavia said as she and Vinyl followed after Dojima and Adachi out of the room.
Chapter 4: Pit Stop at the Gas Station

(Afternoon, Inaba)
After a few hours of filling out release papers, and informing to the other police officers about Vinyl and Octavia. The two were finally released from police custody as they soon entered into the car that belong to Dojima and began to make their way to the human’s home. During the drive home, the mares began to examine the horseless carriage that they were in. It was a bit surprising to Octavia at first seeing how it was a bit smaller compared to the bus that they rode on top of. Vinyl on the other hand was sticking her head out the window like a dog as she enjoyed the wind blowing onto her face. That is until Octavia pulled her head back in.
“Vinyl, stop sticking your head out of the window like that.”
“Aw come on Tavi. I was enjoying the wind flowing through my mane. This would be a great way to blow dry your mane if it’s still wet from water.”
“That or get your head cut off by a carriage or something else. Now sit back down so we don’t cause trouble for Mr. Dojima.”
“Fine...killjoy.” Vinyl said as she sat back into her seat. “So how long before we get to your home police dude.”
“Heh, never been called that before in my line of work.” Dojima said, chuckling at the nickname Vinyl gave him.”We’ll be there in a few minutes, I’ll have to drop you two off at my place before I go pick up Nanako from school.”
“Nanako?”
“My daughter that I take care of….who’ll I’ll have to talk with later about you two coming to live with us until you can find a way back home...This might be a bit hard to explain it.”
“It can’t be that hard to explain to somepony that you have two magical talking ponies living with them, right?”
“I think what happen to us yesterday would be a prime example of how well they would believe us without showing them proof of what you mean Vinyl.” Octavia said as she felt the car stopping in front of the gas station that she and Vinyl walked by when they first arrived to Inaba. “Why did we stop here?”
“I need to put some gas in the car. Can’t go anywhere if the car doesn’t have enough fuel to go from place to place.” Dojima said as he unbuckled his seatbelt and exited the car. Vinyl and Octavia in turn did the same as they exit the car.
“Man, this “car” is much faster then the carriage in Manehatten.” Vinyl said as she stretched her limbs out.
“That and the seats are more comfortable and relaxing.” Octavia added as she notice Dojima talking to a young human as he motions toward the car as he heads off into the store.
“Whoa, nice cosplaying outfits. Are you guys just coming back from a convention?” The young man asked.
“Why do they always think we’re cosplaying?” Vinyl asked looking over at Octavia who shrugged for a moment before looking at the human. “We’re not cosplaying, we’re ponies.”
“.....Um….okay…..didn’t think you were those kinds of people that took their cosplaying seriously-” Before the young man could finish, Vinyl’s horn began to glow as he felt his hat being pull off from his head and began to float right front of his face.
“Still don’t believe that-.” Vinyl was cut off mid sentence from Octavia who smacked her up side her head. Causing the hat to fall to the ground. “Ow! What was that for?”
“You can’t go showing off your powers like that like it was nothing you idiot. You could’ve easily scare him or worse.” The Earth pony said as she walked to pick the hat up to give it back to the young man. “I’m sorry about my friends….unorthodox way of doing. She tends not to think of things before hand.”
“Hey!”
The young man blinks for a moment before laughing and placing his hat back onto his head. “It’s fine, you don’t need to worry about it. To be honest I never actually expected to see something like this in this small little town on the countryside.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Well Inaba is a quiet little town with not that much action going on around here. Well besides the biker gang that come by from time to time, but other then that not so much is going on here.” The young man said as he begins to fill the car up with gasoline. “But besides being a quiet little town on the countryside, this place does have a pretty cool shopping mall that most of us either hang out or work at one of the stores.”
“Do you work there?” Octavia asked as the young man shook his head.
“Naw, I work here at the gas station. I’m not a fan of fast places like that. Hey, you wouldn’t mind if I ask for your names do you?”
“Oh! Where are my manners. I’m Octavia Melody.” The Earth pony said as she motions him to look at Vinyl. “And the rude pony beside me is Vinyl Scratch.”
“Hey, I’m not rude.” Vinyl said as she rolled her eyes and extended a hand towards the human. “Vinyl Scratch, or if I’m DJing DJ-Pon3.”
“Well it’s a pleasure to meet you both.” He said as he shook Vinyl’s hand for a moment before releasing it. “Hope you enjoy your stay in Inaba.”
“Thanks we’ll be sure to do that.” Octavia said as the young man went back to finishing putting gasoline into the car before walking back into the store. “What a nice being he was.”
“Eh, he’s alright I guess.” The Unicorn said as she was about to head back into the car. Only to pause as she felt her head pound for a split second, causing her to place a hand on her forehead.
“Vinyl, are you okay?” Octavia asked as she notice Vinyl’s disposition as she moves over towards her to see if she was okay.
“Y-Yeah, just a slight headache.That’s all.” She said, shaking her head as she looked over at Octavia. “Could be because we haven’t eaten anything in the past few hours.”
“I wonder why we haven’t eaten anything in the past few hours.” Octavia said in a sarcastic tone. “It could be that you got us arrested last night before we could even start eating.”
“You’re never going to let that one slide are you?”
“Just like with everything else that you’ve done during our time together. Plus someone has to keep reminding you so you won’t do anything stupid again.” Just as Vinyl was pulling herself together, Octavia noticed Dojima walking out of the store while carrying two bags of what she could guess were food or snacks.
“Sorry for the wait. Just remembered that you haven’t eaten anything in the past few hours. So I figure I’d buy you two some snacks to tide you over until tonight.” Dojima said as he handed the bags to Octavia.
“Why thank you Mr. Dojima-.”
“What’s in the bag.” Vinyl interrupted as she levitated the second bag from Octavia and begins to look through it. Only for Octavia to snatch it from her magic and slaps her upside her head again. “Will you stop doing that!?”
“Only when you learn to show some manners. Plus we should wait until we get to Mr. Dojima’s home before eating.”
“But I’m hungry now~.” The Unicorn whined as she gave Octavia a pouty but innocent look. “Don’t you care about your friend’s well being?”
“Yes, but that also means that I have to keep you in line when it comes to stuff like this.”
“Oh you are such a killjoy.”
“And you’re an idiot that I have to keep an eye on from time to time.” As the two continue their little argument, Dojima couldn’t help but chuckle at the way the ponies were acting. It almost reminded him of him and his partner Adachi. Only with this it involved two ponies from another world, and they aren’t in the police force. Not wanting to have the folks around town wondering what was going on, he decided to get their attention by clearing his throat.
“Not to ruin this little conversation that you two are having. But I would like to get you two to my home before the sun sets. I do have to pick up my daughter from school if you haven’t forgotten about that.”
“Oh...right...sorry about that.” Vinyl said as she scratches the back of her head. “I guess I can wait a bit before snacking down on the food you got us.” She said as she opened the door to the back seat as she and Octavia hopped inside.
“Whatever...just wake me up when we get to Dojima’s place.” The Unicorn said as she slowly begins to close her eyes and leans against the window.
Chapter 5: Dojima Residence

“Welp, here we are. Your new home until we can figure out how to get you back to Equestria….still can’t believe that something like this is happening to me.” Dojima said as he opened the door to his home for Vinyl and Octavia to enter.
“Whoa, nice place you got here dude.” Vinyl said as she examines the inside of the house. “Looks like something that Tavi’s grandparents would live in if they had a house like this.”
“I guess that would be pretty accurate to say the least. I never expected to see a house as lovely as this. Wouldn’t mind having a house like this back in Ponyville.” Octavia said as she looked around as well.
“Make yourselves at home for the time being. There’s a room upstair next to Nanako’s room that you can use to sleep in, but you’ll have to share the foldable bed that’s inside though.”
“Neat, looks like it’ll just be you and me alone in the bed Tavi~.” Vinyl said in a teasing tone as she placed a hand on her hip. Only for Octavia to slam her hoof onto Vinyl’s hoof causing her yell in pain.
“Oops, my bad. Didn’t see your hoof there Vinyl. I’ll try to be more careful next time.” She said as Vinyl rubbed her hoof from the pain.
“Geez, I was only kidding Tavi. Damn, you don’t have to be a bitch about it.” The DJ said as she limps a bit inside.
“Make yourselves at home for the time being. Once I bring over Nanako, I would like to lay down some ground rules about living here with us until you can return home.” Dojima said as he begins to turn around and make his way to his car. “Try not to hurt each other while I’m gone, or break anything in the house. Got it?”
“Don’t worry Mr. Dojima. I’ll make sure Vinyl doesn’t do anything to damage your home while you’re away.”
“Hey! I take offense to that!” Vinyl yelled as Octavia looked back at the DJ pony with an unamused expression on her face.
“Like I said, I’ll make sure she’ll behave while you’re gone.” The classical pony said as Dojima nodded and begins to drive off. As Octavia watch Dojima drive off, she then walked back into the living room of the house and glared at Vinyl who was laying on the couch.
“What?”
“You better not throw any wild parties while we’re here Vinyl. That also applies with you going to all night parties, playing loud music at night, and anything else that could cause trouble for us and Dojima.”
“Oh come on, when have I ever done any of that stuff in someone else’s home?”
“Do I need to remind you about what happened when I left you alone with my parents house?”
“You should’ve known by now that you shouldn’t have left me alone in a empty huge ass house in Canterlot. You can’t expect me not to throw a rave party in a house that could fit all of Ponyville.”
“A mistake that I will not have happening here. Now you better not do it here or so help me Vinyl I will never talk to you again.”
“You said that the last time and look how that turned out?”
“Vinyl…..”
“Alright, fine. I won’t throw any wild parties here in this house, nor will I play loud music either. Pinkie Promise.” Vinyl said as she rolls her eyes.
“Good, now on to the important matter at hand. How do we get back home?”
“Teleport is one way to do it. But something tells me that it won’t work for a few reasons.”
“And those would be?” Octavia asked as she moves to sit next to Vinyl.
“I’m not an alicorn, I don’t know where we are seeing how we’re not in Equestria, and I’m not so good with teleporting magic.”
“So you’re saying that we’re stuck here until somepony figures out we’re missing?”
“Possibly, but I have my doubts they would be able to find us seeing how we got on a different train then the friendship express.”
“....So we’re gonna be stuck here forever huh?” Octavia asked as she sigh. “As if this this day couldn’t get any worse?”
“You really need to lighten up a bit Tavi.”
“How can I lighten up when we might end up stuck here for the rest of our lives!? Do you know how hard it’ll be to start over from scratch? Especially seeing how we’re creatures from another world or country?”
“Well worrying about it isn’t going to solve anything now is it? Look I know you’re scared and all, but you need to calm yourself down a bit before you have another panic attack like before. Remember?”
“.....Alright. For once I’ll have to agree with you on that.” Octavia said as she begins to take deep breaths for a while. “So….what do we do now?”
“I don’t know, just wing it I guess? I mean surely somepony back home will know that we’re missing. So we might as well wait and see how things turn out.” Vinyl said as she looked over at the TV. “Any idea what that strange box with the glass on the front of it is?”
“No clue, but I advise you not to mess around with it.”
“Oh come on. You can’t tell me you aren’t curious about what it is?” Vinyl said as she hops up from off the couch and walks over to the TV. “Maybe it’s some kind of music box or something?”
“I doubt that it would be something like that. Now back away from it before you break it.” Octavia ordered as Vinyl began to press the buttons on the TV. “Are you even listening to me?”
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t touch stuff. But you can’t expect me not to do nothing-.” Before Vinyl could finish her statement, the TV that she was messing around with turned on as she fell onto her bottom from the sudden flash of light. “Hey, I got it to turn on.”
“Congrats, now can you turn it off before you get us in trouble.”
“I’m pretty sure the police dude said to make ourselves at home. So I’m gonna make myself at home like he said.” Vinyl said as she pulls herself away from the TV and sat back next to Octavia. “It’s weird that we can understand what they’re saying, but we can’t understand their written language so far.”
“I...will admit that is weird...I’m more then surprise they’re able to speak equestrian. You think they know that they’re speaking that?”
“I’m pretty sure they might not know seeing how we’re from different countries and stuff. You’ll be able to learn more about this country once we start school….great…. ”
“Shame that we have to go to school again. Even though we already finish school back in Equestria.”
“Man this sucks! Why do we have to go to school? I mean we’re ponies. You think we would be hidden from the world or something.”
“I think that pretty much didn’t work after you got us arrested last night.” Octavia said as Vinyl lifted her shades and deadpans at her. “Shoot me all the looks you want Vinyl. You know what you did was uncalled for.”
“Hey, that colt didn’t take my bits. His fault, not mine this time.”
“And provoking the police here was his fault as well?”
“.....I’m still saying that it was that colt’s fault.”
“Typical, always blame somepony else for the trouble you get yourself into.”
“Hey buck you, yeah-!” Before Vinyl could finish her sentence, she heard the knob on the front door began to turn as the door opened up.
“I’m home!” Dojima said as he makes his way to the living room of his house. As Vinyl and Octavia turned their attention to Dojima, they notice a little girl hiding behind him as she peeks over him for a quick moment before hiding.
“Welcome back Mr. Dojima.” Octavia said as Vinyl looked over at the girl hiding.
“Who’s the kid?” Vinyl asked as she felt her head being smacked upside her head by Octavia. “Hey!?”
“Don’t be rude Vinyl. That’s his daughter Nanako that he mentioned in the car remember? I’m sorry for my friend’s rude manner.”
“It’s fine. Really.” Dojima said as he looked over at Nanako. “Go on Nanako. Introduce yourself to them.” He said as Nanako slowly made her way from behind Dojima as she blushes.
“U-Um...h-hi…” She said before quickly hiding behind Dojima.
“Hehe, why are you so shy for?” Dojima asked with a chuckle causing Nanako to pout and slap him on his back. “Ow, hahaha.” he said chuckling even more along with Vinyl and Octavia.
“Cute kid you got there Dojima. Reminds me of how Octavia was when me and her went to school back home.” Vinyl said as she turned her attention at Dojima. “So. Now that you’re daughter is here, didn’t you say you were going to lay down some rules or something about us living here?”
“RIght, ground rules.” Dojima said as his facial expression harden quickly. “No smoking, no drinking, no throwing any parties, you are to be home before night time on school days, no getting into fights, no causing trouble, no stealing, using drugs, no sneaking out at night, no loud music, and above all else no getting my daughter hurt or into trouble. Got it?”
“Yes Mr. Dojima.” Octavia said as she looked over at Vinyl who was daydreaming for a while before feeling the earth pony hit her upside her head.
“”Ow! What? I was paying attention to him. It’s pretty much like it is back home, only different.” Vinyl said as she adjust her shades. “Relax, you have nothing to worry. We’ll be on our best behavior while we’re here.”
“I’ll keep you to your word on that.” Dojima said as his expression lightens up. “Okay, with that out of the way. Who here is hungry?”
“I could go for something to eat. Nothing against the food you've given us in the car on the way here, but a pony can’t eat on junk food alone.” Octavia said as she heard a belch from Vinyl and deadpans.
“Says you, but Tavi does have a point there. What do you have in mind of food?”
“Hm, we might have something in the refrigerator for you guys. You do eat plant stuff right?” Dojima asked as the two ponies nodded their heads. “I think I might have something that can suit your diets.” The man said as he walks into the kitchen along with Nanako following him. Reaching over to the refrigerator, Dojima pulled out four rectangular size black box covered with a plastic wrap and four soda cans. As Dojima was making his way back, he felt the items he was carrying feel light. Looking at the stuff he was carrying, they began to float into the air and made their way towards the futon in the middle of the room.
“Don’t worry buddy, I got this covered.” Vinyl said as she began to set the food on the table along with unwrapping the boxes.
“W-Wow.” Nanako said before blushing and quickly hides behind Dojima.
“Still not going to get used to seeing something like that.” Dojima said as he took a seat at the futon along with Nanako who sat next to him. Vinyl and Octavia soon follow them after Vinyl set the food down on the futon.
“Unicorn magic is always helpful when multitasking stuff or DJing at a birthday party or something.”
“You’re a DJ?”
“Yep, DJ-Pon3 is my stage name when I drop the bass.” The unicorn said as she noticed a look of disapproval on Dojima’s face. “Hey, I don’t judge your taste in music. Don’t judge me. I get enough of that from Octavia.”
“Because most ponies don’t take well to your music. Though I will say that you are good when it comes to mixing certain musics together, not everyone can like the same music as you do.” Octavia said as she took a seat next to Vinyl.
“What about you Octavia? Are you into music?”
“I am. But I’m more into classical music then my….friend here.” Octavia answered as she heard a snort coming from Vinyl. “I’m actually a renowned musician all around equestria along with my ensemble.”
“Really now? What kind of instrument do you play?”
“She plays the cello. The most boring instrument next to the triangle-.” Before she could finish her sentence, Vinyl yelped from getting kicked in the shin by Octavia. “Will you stop hitting me like that?”
“Will you stop being so rude and saying stuff like that?” Octavia asked as she only got a mumble from the unicorn. “Thought so. As I was saying, I play cello in the ensemble I sometimes perform with on stage.”
“A career as a musician of classical music. I must say I’m very impressed by that.” Dojima said as it caused Octavia to blush.
“Don’t try to get a big head Octavia. If you do, then we’ll have to get a new door for your head to get through it.” Vinyl said as the classical pony glared at her.
“You just love to ruin moments like this huh?”
“Oh you know I’m just messing with ya. Geez, you can be a bit uptight at times.”
“And you’re too relaxed. Honestly, how is it that you’re this lazy but are able to keep the title as best DJ player ever in all of Equestria.”
“Skills Octy, skills. That and having magic always helps.”
“Now, now, you too. Let’s keep this little fight you two are having to a minimum.” Dojima said as both ponies turned their attention at him. “You two are like an old married couple after listen to your conversation.”
“Ew gross!”
“No way in tartarus would I ever marry somepony like her!”
“Then why don’t you two stop fighting and start eating?” He said as he points at their food. “Don’t want it to be cold when you eat it right?”
“R-Right...sorry.” Octavia said as she bows to the policeman along with Vinyl.
“Yeah, sorry dude. That was our bad on our part.”
“It’s fine, nothing to worry about. Now why don’t we enjoy our meal while we get to know each other a bit-” Before Dojima could finish his sentence, the phone in his pocket began to ring as he groans in annoyance. “Great, now who could it be?” He said as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cellphone. “Hello…yes?...Seriously? But it’s my day off and I have guests over….right, understood.” With a defeated sigh, Dojima placed his phone into his pocket and stood up.
“Something wrong daddy?” Nanako asked as her father looked at her in annoyance.
“I’m being called into work today. Apparently Adachi screwed up some paper work, and I have to go in and take care of it.”
“Adachi? Isn’t he that funny looking dude that I levitated?” Vinyl asked as Dojima nodded.
“Yeah, that’s him. Anyways you guys stay here and enjoy the food with Nanako. I’ll be back in a couple of hours or so. The spare room that you two can use is upstairs next to Nanako’s room. Be ready for tomorrow, because I’ll have to come with you to school and explain the...well situation with the principle.” Dojima said as he begins to walk towards the door of the house. “Don’t stay up too long. School starts tomorrow for everyone, and I don’t want to see any lights on when I get back. Okay?”
“Don’t worry Dojima, we’ll behave on your account.” Vinyl said as she watches Dojima leave the house. She then turns her attention at Nanako who was staring at her. “So kid, how long are you going to keep looking at my horn?” The DJ asked which caused the little girl to yelp in surprise.
“S-Sorry.” Nanako said as she looked down at her food.
“Hey, no need to be so shy. I won’t bite...well I’ll bite Octavia, but that’s only if she annoys me too much.”
“You’re an idiot. You know that right?”
“Wouldn’t be the first time you said that to me.” Vinyl said as she goes back to eating.
“I’m sorry if my friend is a bit….blunt about certain things. Anyway, why don’t we take this chance to get to know each other a bit?”
“Um...I….um.”
“Seems she’s a bit shy to do that Octavia.” Vinyl said as she noticed the earth pony glaring at her for a moment. “Give her some time to get use to us being here. She’ll open up to us in time.”
“I know that Vinyl. I figure we try to have a little conversation just to break the awkwardness around us.”
“Pretty sure it was going to be like this on the first day. No offense or anything to you kid.”
“Um...none taken…..I guess.” Nanako said as she stood up from where she was sitting and heading over to the kitchen. “I’m gonna go and do the dishes. N-Not because of what V-Vinyl said or anything, but I usually do them early so that it won’t take me long to do them later. When you’re done you can place your plates on the counter.”
“Okay, thank you Nanako.” Octavia said as she waves at the little girl for a moment before quickly looking back at Vinyl.
“What? What did I do?”
“.....You can be….so oblivious and blunt sometimes.”
Chapter 6
Foggy Dreams
(Upstairs, Spare room)
“Welp, tomorrow’s our first day at school….think we’ll be able to not draw attention to ourselves?” Vinyl asked as she jumps onto the couch.
“That might be hard given how we’re two ponies in an unknown land, full of weird creatures, that are highly more advanced than us Equestrians.” Octavia stated as she prepares the futon to sleep in.
“You do make a valid point. But hey, you never know what will happen. We could be treated just like anypony back home….then again we are going into high school and kids are kinda brats depending….I’m not helping much am I?”
“No….no you are not.” Octavia said as Vinyl scratched the back of her own head awkwardly.
“Right, sorry. But hey look on the bright side. At least we’ll be able to get some info about how to get home once we get to the school library if we get the chance.”
“You mean me? Because if I’m not mistaken, you’re not good when it comes to libraries.”
“What? Since when?” The DJ asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Celestia’s school for the gifted, fifth grade, you were trying to get a book about music for your as I quote.” Octavia cleared her throat as she tries to imitate Vinyl’s voice. “Wubs of destruction. ”
“Hey, it’s not my fault they kept the damn thing on the top shelf. I mean why do they always keep the good books on the highest part of the book shelves?”
“They do it because the books must be kept in alphabetical order.”
“Well that’s dumb.”
“Said the mare who tries to wash the dishes with her wubs.” Octavia said as Vinyl threw a pillow at the earth pony.
“Would’ve worked if I had the right base system setup….and some waterproof wires and stuff.” She said before looking over at Octavia who was deadpanning at her. “Shut up. It still would’ve worked.”
“Let’s just get ready for tomorrow.” Octavia said with a sigh as she began to get into her bed.
“Whatever.” The DJ said as her horn glowed, causing the light switch in the room to flick down and turn the lights off. With a sigh and a bit of re-adjusting herself on the couch, Vinyl slowly began to drift into slumber.
(Dream World)
Upon entering into slumberland, Vinyl’s eyes shot open as she quickly stood up a bit from the floor she was on with a gasp. Eyes wide from her sudden demeanor, she quickly shot up to her feet as she looked around the area she was in. From what she could tell, Vinyl could see nothing but the heavy fog covering her field of vision, and the red and black colored floor.
“What or where the buck am I?” Vinyl asked as she started to walk forwards while waving her hands in front of herself. “Octavia! Police dude! Nanako! Are you guys here!?” She asked, but didn’t hear anything. “Seriously, if this is some kind of prank Tavi, then I’m going to-” Just as she was about to finish her threat, the DJ pony’s ear twitched as she heard a voice speak out to her in the fog.
“Do you seek the truth...?”
“Huh? Who’s there?” Vinyl asked as she stopped and looked around to see where the voice was coming from. “Police dude. Is that you?”
“If it’s the truth you desire, come and find me…” The voice said as Vinyl’s ears bagan to point forward through the fog. With a snort, Vinyl began to walk forward into the direction of where the voice was coming from.
“Look here pal. I don’t know who you are, but if you think you can just fillynap somepony like that. Then you got another thing coming when I get my hands on-” Once again, before she could finish her threat yet again. She was cut off by walking face first into what appears to be a doorway. Reeling back in pain from the sudden doorway appearing out of nowhere, she let out a muffle curse word before looking up at the strange black & red colored square door.
“Bucking no good fog. Why the hell am I here in this place anyway?”
“If it’s the truth you desire, come and find me…” Vinyl heard the voice coming from the other side of the door she was in front of. Placing her hand to her chin, she began to weigh her options at the moment.
“Something tells me that this is a trap that whoever it was that stuck me here is right behind this door.” She thought as she tried to use her horn to teleport herself out, but to no avail. “And I can’t use my magic to teleport myself out if here. So I guess I’ll have to face whoever it is that’s behind this door.” With her horn glowing in case someone tries to attack, Vinyl pushed onto the odd looking door as it quickly opens up. Flinching back a bit from it opening so quickly, Vinyl quickly built up the courage to move forward as she processed into the unknown room. Just as she enters, she soon sees a faint but noticeable figure shape in the fog as she glares at it.
“So...You are the one pursuing me…” The figure said with a chuckle in its voice. “Try all you like, but you’ll never catch me…”
“Wanna bet!?” Vinyl quickly lunged at the figure in an attempt to try and tackle it to the ground. Only for the figure to disappear as she tumbles to the ground. “What the? Where did you go!?” She asked as she looked around to see the figure right behind her. Vinyl gritted her teeth as she quickly pulled herself up and fired a magical beam at it as she heard the figure grunted from being hit.
“Hmmm...It seems you can see a little, despite the fog.”
“There’s plenty more where that came from jerkface!” Vinyl yelled as she fired another beam at the figure again, only this time it quickly ducked out of the way of her attack.
“I see...Indeed...This is very interesting information I’m getting from you.” It said as Vinyl lunges herself at the figure and punched it in the face, causing it to stagger backwards a bit. “But you will not catch me so easily. If what you seek is “truth,” then your search will be even harder…”
“What the buck are you talking about?” The mare asked as her horn began to glow even brighter. “When i get my hands on you, you’re so gonna be in a world of hurt followed by some questioning.” All that came from the figure was a small chuckle in the fog. Just as she was about to fire a magical beam at the figure, the fog around her began to become thicker and heavier. “What the? Hey! Where did you go coward!?”
“Everyone sees what they want to...And the fog only deepens..”
“Show yourself coward!” Vinyl yelled as she began to fire in different direction to try to hit the figure within the thick fog.
“Will we meet again? At a place other than here?” The figure said as its voice began to drift away further into the fog. “Hmhm...I look forward to it..”
“Hey, wait a minute. Get back here!” Vinyl yelled as she began to run after the figure in the direction that she thinks he was fading away to. Just as she took a few running steps forwards, she felt her body begin to feel heavy. Like someone put her in a suit of armor as her movements were now slow and sluggish. “Dammit, why do I feel so….h-heavy?” She asked as she felt her eyes beginning to feel heavy as well. With a staggered breath of air, the DJ pony soon fell onto the ground as her vision began to become dark and blurry. “N-No….come...back.” With her final words her vision went dark as she faded away into unconsciousness.
(Dojima residents)
The sun rose upon the town of Inaba as a slither of sunlight began to make its way into the room that Vinyl and Octavia are in as Octavia groaned and covered her face from feeling the sunlight hit her face. Just as she did that, there was a knock at the door as a familiar voice began to speak up from behind the door.
“Breakfast is ready.” Nanako said as Octavia heard the little girl walk off downstairs. With a sigh, the earth pony slowly pulled herself up from underneath the covers as she gave off a loud yawn.
“Well at least this was better than the previous night.” The mare said as she rubbed her eyes. “Vinyl it’s time to wake up...Vinyl?” Octavia looked over at the sleeping DJ who was pretty much facing face first onto the floor and her flank sticking up in the air. The earth pony quickly deadpanned before picking up her pillow, and tossing it at Vinyl. “Wake up you idiot!”
“IT WASN’T ME! IT WAS NEON LIGHT!!!” Vinyl said as she quickly woke up after being hit by said pillow from Octavia.
“Glad to see you’re awake Vinyl. I’m a bit surprised you haven’t gotten any back problems from sleeping like that.”
“You should know by now that I’ve slept in different positions when I’m drunk or party to much.” Vinyl said as she lets out a loud yawn. “Oh man. That was a weird bucked up dream.”
“What dream?”
“Dude it was the weirdest dream I have ever had. I found myself in some strange place full of fog. I couldn’t see anything around me other then the floor underneath me. While I was wondering through the fog, I heard a strange mysterious voice calling out to me. Telling me to find the truth to something.” Vinyl said as she scratched her head and looked over at Octavia. “Have any idea on what that dream means?”
“Well….I’m no dream expert, but it might be something that involves you hiding something from somepony and the guilt is causing you to dream of something like this…..Did you do something bad that might be causing it?”
“No!....No….um….unless you count me switching your shampoo with hair color that one time?”
“That was you who did that!? I thought the company store that I got it from ripped me off and sold me that as a means to steal bits from ponies!”
“Yeah….sorry about that Tavi.” The DJ said with a sheepish smile on her face. Octavia simple groaned in annoyance before pulling herself up from the bed she was in and started to get herself dress.
“Whatever. It happened two years ago, so there’s no point in me holding a grudge against you on that. Anyway, get yourself up and ready. Nanako knocked on our door and said that breakfast is ready.”
“Ah, sweet!” Vinyl said as she quickly jolted out of bed. ”Hope the kid’s dad made something good~.”
“You are not going downstairs looking like that are you?”
“What’s wrong with the way I look?” Vinyl asked as Octavia deadpanned.
“You are not going downstairs wearing nothing but your shirt and panties Vinyl. Have some class or at least the desentsy to put on something that isn’t so revealing!” The classical pony said as she squeezed the bridge of her nose.
“Fine mom! I’ll put on some bucking clothes. Man! You’re so uptight sometimes you know that?” Vinyl said as she began to search for her pants.
“We are in the house of a stallion who took us into his home when we didn’t have a means to get home or find a place to sleep. So I will be uptight as long as you keep acting like you do at home in Ponyville.”
“And you’re wondering why you’re single.” The DJ said as she pulled herself up from searching for her pants on the floor, only to be met with Octavia throwing the DJ’s pants at her head.
“Just get your clothes on while I go to the bathroom and freshen myself up.” Octavia said as she pulled herself up and headed to the bathroom.
“That mare really needs to lighten up a bit.”

School Life in Inaba
(Yasogami High School, After School)
“That’s all for today. Normal Lectures will start tomorrow.” Mr. Morooka said as he began to leave the class. While he did that, some students began to pick up their things to do the same and leave. While a few of them stayed in the classroom to talk with their friends, meet up to do some after school activity, or to take pictures of both VInyl and Octavia. Just as Mr. Morooka was about to leave the classroom, the school intercom was activated.
“Attention, all teachers. Please report immediately to the Faculty Office for a brief staff meeting. All students must return to their classrooms and are not to leave the school until further notice.” The woman said before the intercom went off. Mr. Morooka grunted in annoyance before looking over at the students.
“You heard the announcement. Don’t go anywhere until you hear otherwise.” He said before leaving the classroom and slamming the door behind himself.
“He’s seriously getting on my nerves.” VInyl thought as she was about to lean back into her seat. That is until her ears twitched upon hearing the sounds of police sirens going off outside as some of the students began to rush over to the window to see what was going on.
“Did something happen? Don’t those sirens sound really close?” asked one of the male students as another one tried to see what was going on outside, but was blocked due to the thick layer of fog outside.
“Ugh, I can’t see a damn thing. Frickn’ fog.”
“Yeah, like every time it rains lately, it gets all foggy. What’s up with that?”
“That might be well enough to know about if I sneak out during the night.” The DJ thought as she decided to listen in on the group’s conversation.
“Hey, did you hear? I hear that paparazzi’s looking all over for that announcer.”
“You mean that Mayumi Yamano woman, right? I heard some guys spotted her at the shopping district.”
“Actually, I heard that-” Before Vinyl could continue to listen in on the conversation, she felt her right ear being pulled on by Octavia as she lets out a low hiss from the pain.
“You shouldn’t eavesdrop on somepony’s conversation that doesn’t involve you.” Octavia said as she let go of the unicorn’s ear.
“Oh come on. It’s not like I would tell anyone else about it. Plus it was just some information that might be useful to us if we’re going to be living here for a while.”
“Be that as it may. Eavesdropping is something that you shouldn’t be doing in the first place.” Octavia said as she noticed the student that Vinyl was listening to walked by them as he headed over to a girl wearing the same uniform as she is, but the shirt part was red.
“H-Hey, Yukiko-san. Mind if I ask you something?” The male student asked as Yukiko turned her attention at him. “Is it true that announcer’s staying at your family’s inn?”
“I can’t discuss such things.” She said before looking off to the side, trying to avoid eye contact with the boy.
“Y-Yeah, I guess not. Sorry about that.” He said before quickly running off back to his group of friends.
“Huh, wonder what that was all about?” Vinyl asked.
“Didn’t you listen to their conversation?” Octavia asked as the DJ snorted in annoyance.
“Was until you pulled on my ear and told me not to eavesdrop on the conversation. Though I’m sure there are more important things to worry about then that.”
“And that would be?” Octavia asked as Vinyl pointed a finger at some of the students taking pictures of the two of them. The earth pony blinked for a moment before realizing what was going on. “They’re doing just like those group of humans did before we came here. What are those things they keep aiming at us with?”
“I honestly don’t know. But every time I see them point those weird rectangular things at us, they keep making a clicking sound from time to time….I’ll have to ask Dojima or Nanako about that when we get back….That is if the school would let us leave.”
“It’s only been about five minutes Vinyl. I’m sure they’ll make an announcement when they’re done doing whatever it is they’re doing.”
“And what would that be that they have to keep us here?”
“I don’t know. I don’t work here nor do I know what the school here does. Do remember that we just got here two days ago and so far we’re kinda limited on how this world works compared to Equestria.” As the two mares continued to argue to one another, the intercom made a chiming sound as someone spoke from it.
“Attention, all students. There has been an incident inside the school district. Police officers have been dispatched around the School Zone. Please stay calm and contact your parents or guardians as soon as possible, and quickly leave the school grounds. Do not disturb the police officers. Head directly home. I repeat head directly home.”
“Incident!?” One of the student exclaimed as he along with a few others quickly gathered their belongings and ran out of the classroom.
“What, something actually happened?” A female student said as she felt her friend pull her towards the doorway.
“C’mon, let’s go take a look!”
“Guess that means Dojima isn’t going to pick us up?” Vinyl asked as Octavia nodded.
“He is apart of this world’s equivalent to the royal guards. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that he would be called upon if there was an incident going on here in this town. That also means that we’ll have to walk home.”
“Or teleport there.” Vinyl said as her horn glowed a bit.
“Walking would be best. And I would prefer to get a better layout of this town incase you’re not around to do it.” Octavia said as the DJ shrugged and stood up before the earth pony could do the same. Just as Octavia was about to get up, a familiar voice came up beside the two as they looked over to their right. Upon doing so, they see a brown haired girl wearing a green & yellow jacket and the girl with the red colored shirt that was named Yukiko from what Octavia remembered from when that boy asked her a question about an announcer.
“Hey, are you two going home by yourselves?” The girl asked as the mares nodded. “Why don’t you come with us?”
“Hey, you’re that girl that offered the seats next to her right?” Vinyl asked as the girl nodded.
“The name’s Chie Satonaka. Sorry if I didn’t get the chance to introduce myself earlier when King Moron was talking.” She said before point a thumb at Yukiko. “This is Yukiko Amagi.”
“N-Nice to meet you both…” She said while staring at the two mare’s features intensely. It was only when Vinyl and Octavia gave her a questionable look that she snapped out of it and blushed. “Oh, sorry. It’s just that...I've never seen something like you two before.”
“Yeah we've been getting that a lot recently. Though I’m not complaining about it.” She said before her ears twitch upon hearing the sounds of clicking going off behind them. “But I am annoyed at them aiming those things at us every time.”
“You mean their cellphones?” Chie asked as the two mares looked at each other before looking back at the human with a question.
“What’s a cellphone?” They asked as Chie and Yukiko blinked in surprise to this.
“You've...never seen nor heard of cellphones before? What country did you two come from?”
“Long story short, we’re from a land called Equestria. Home to all kinds of ponies be it Unicorn, Pegisai, and Earth Ponies.” Vinyl answered as she placed her hands behind her back.
“And you two are suppose to be?” Yukiko asked.
“Vinyl’s a unicorn, while I am an Earth Pony.” Octavia said as Vinyl’s horn glowed causing her’s and the earth pony’s books to float around them. The two humans along with some of the students that paid attention to this whoaed in awe at what Vinyl did, only for Octavia to smack her upside her head causing the books to fall to the ground. “We’re trying to keep a somewhat low profile Vinyl, not to draw more attention to us then needed.” She said as the DJ rolled her eyes and looked back at the humans.
“Whoa, that was so cool! Do all your kind do that where you’re from?” Chie asked. Just as Vinyl was about to answer, she noticed some of the students aiming their Cellphones at her as she lets out a groan.
“Maybe we should leave before I start talking. Because right now I’m very tempted on using my magic to break their phones.” Vinyl said as she noticed a disapproving glare coming from Octavia as she raised her hands in defense. “Tempted, wasn’t going to do it anyway unless otherwise.”
“Yeah, that would be best. Plus I have a few questions I wanna ask you two if you don’t mind that is?” Chie asked as the four of them began to leave the classroom. Just as they were about to they were soon stopped by a young man with light brown hair with a bit of a worried expression on his face.
“Uh, umm, Miss Satonaka? This was really awesome. Like, the way they moved was just amazing to see…” The boy said before handing over a DVD case to Chie. “And...I’m really sorry! It was an accident! Please Just have mercy on me until next paycheck!” He said as Chie grabbed the DVD. “Seeya! Thanks!”
“Stop right there! What did you do to my DVD!?” She yelled as she chased after the boy. Once she was close, she quickly ran passed him and stopped him by kicking him below the belt. Both Vinyl and Octavia winced at this as the three of them walked over to Chie just as she opened the DVD case. “What the!? I can’t believe this! It’s completely cracked...My “Trail of the Dragon”!”
“I think mine’s cracked too…” The boy said as he was on the ground with his hands covering his lower area of his body. “C-Critical hit to the nads…”
“I almost feel sorry for the poor lad.” Octavia whispered as she noticed Vinyl squinting at the boy. “Something wrong Vinyl?”
“That boy looks so familiar...where have I seen him before.”
“A-Are you all right?” Yukiko asked.
“Oh, Yukiko-san...Are you worried about me?” The boy said as Chie snorted in annoyance and closed the DVD case.
“He’s fine, Yukiko. Let’s ditch him and go home.” She said as she and Yukiko started to head out of the classroom. As they left, Octavia and Vinyl looked at each other then to the boy.
“Vinyl, I know I said not to use magic. But would you be able to-”
“Don’t have to tell me.” Vinyl’s horn glowed as a hand size bag of ice appeared from out of thin air and landed down in front of the boy. “Try not to break stuff that you borrow from other ponies kid.” She said as they both left the classroom and chase after Chie and Yukiko.
“Mind if I asked how you got that bag of ice?”
“Dojima’s place. There was a bag of ice in his refrigerator, so I simply teleported it here.”
“Ah, okay….wouldn’t Mr. Dojima say something about it?”
“I’ll explain it to him when the time comes...and possibly hope that guy brings it back tomorrow or something. Either way, I’m sure Dojima would understand after explaining it to him.”
“And how would he understand….oh...right. He’s a colt as well….Yeah you’re right, I’m sure he’ll understand.” Octavia said as the DJ smiled.
“Finally, we can agree on something like this.”
“Because this is something that doesn’t involve you doing something stupid like all the other times.”
“Name one time!”
“You screwing around with Blueblood. And no I don’t mean bucking him, I mean you kept sending him packages and letter of how much of a-pardon my words-How much of a self-righteous cunt colt he is.”
“Well he is. The guy canceled two of my interview appearances on my show “The Vinyl Scratch” and called me out for being a poor music player.”
“Was that before or after the restraining order?”
“After, but that’s besides the point.” Vinyl said as Octavia rolled her eyes and looked forwards to see Chie and Yukiko waiting for them at the front door of the school.
“About time you two showed up. What happen? Did you get lost?” Chie asked as the two mares shook their heads.
“Just wanted to help that colt you nut shotted in the nads.” Vinyl answered as Yukiko smiled.
“Well that was nice of you to do.”
“And stupid. The guy deserved it for breaking my Trail of the Dragon DVD.” Chie said as she gritted her teeth and kicked a small stone off to the side. “That’s the last time I let him borrow any of my stuff!”
“I’ll...um...ask about that guy later, right now let’s just head home before the rain picks back up.”Vinyl suggested as the group was about to leave to head home, only for a strange pasty looking human to walke up to Yukiko from the front gate of the school.
“You’re Yuki, right? Y-You want to go hang out somewhere?”
“What? Wh-Who are you?” Yukiko said as Vinyl looked over from the side of them and glared at the stange student.
“What’s up with him? Does he go to this school or something?”
“I don’t think he does. I mean, look at his uniform. It’s completely different than ours.” Octavia said as she looks the human up and down. “Not to mention he’s giving off a very uncomfortable feeling.” She said before noticing two male students walking up near them.
“What’s up with him? What school’s he from?” said an onlooking student to his friend.
“Never mind that, he’s going for Yukiko-san? Man, you’d think he’d at least wait until she’s alone to make his move.”
“I bet you a can of Tap he gets knocked out.”
“No bet. Haven’t you heard how difficult the Amagi Challenge is?” As the group listened to the onlooking student’s conversation, they soon turned their attention back to the strange student that cleared his throat to get their attention.
“Um, s-so...are you coming or not?” He asked as Yukiko shook her head and looked off to the side.
“I-I’m not going...sorry.”
“Fine!” The strange student’s expression change from a blank expression to that of anger quickly before running off.
“Wh-What did he want from me?” She asked as a sly mischievous appeared on Vinyl’s face as she peered her head around Octavia.
“He’s asking for your sweet gam-gams dude!” The unicorn said before busting out laughing. Octavia and Chie deadpanned to her comment as Chie looked over at Yukiko.
“What I’m sure Vinyl meant to say was that he wanted to ask you out on a date.”
“Huh? Really?”
“You really had no clue? Sheesh.” Chie said as she scratch the back of her own head. “But then again, that was way over the top. It was creepy how he called you Yuki all of a sudden.”
“He should’ve at least got to know the girl before asking her out on a date.” Vinyl said as she recovered from her laughing fit. “I mean that’s what I do when I want to date somepony.”
“Wait what-?” Before Chie could finish, a familiar voice came from beside them as the boy who was hit in the nads walked next to them with a bike.
“Yo, Yukiko-san. Turned down another lovelorn fool, huh? Man, you’re cruel...You got me the same way last year.”
“I don’t recall doing that.”
“Whoa, you serious? So then, you wanna hang out sometime!?” The boy asked as he winked and grin at Yukiko.
“...I’d rather not.” She said as the boy’s hopeful expression quickly dropped.
“That’ll teach me to get my hopes up.” he said before looking at the two mares, mainly Vinyl. “Hey, you’re the mare that gave me that ice pack in class.”
“You’re welcome by the way. Still need it for getting a nut shot from Chie?” Vinyl asked as the boy flinched and handed the ice pack over to the unicorn.
“N-No, no. You can have it back, I prefer not to get hit down below the belt...again.” he said before shivering and shaking his head of the thought. Once the thought was out of his head, he soon turned his attention back to Chie and Yukiko. “Anyways, you two better not pick on the transfer students too much.”
“We’re just curious, is all!” Chie yelled as the boy road off toward the road.
“U-Um, I’m sorry for dragging you two into this.” Yukiko said as Vinyl shrugged.
“It’s fine, this wouldn’t be the first time we've been in weird or awkward situations like this before.” The unicorn said as she noticed some of the humans gathering around them. “We should get going.”
“Yeah, everyone’s staring at us.” Octavia added as the group quickly walked off from the school grounds and headed towards home.

“Okay, so let me get this straight.” Chie said as the group continued to walk down the streets of Inaba. The plan, simply show Vinyl and Octavia around town a bit before taking them to Junes so they can get well adjusted to their new environment around Inaba. At least for the limited time they have outside before the sun began to set, which was hard to see due to the sky being cloudy. “You two came here after getting on a train, thinking that you would get home after Vinyl got drunk from losing a drinking contest with Neon Tight?”
“Neon Light...Stupid copy cat pony. My wubs are better than his wubs!” Vinyl grumbled as Chie and Yukiko looked over at Octavia with raised eyebrows.
“It’s what she calls her music. I don’t know why she says that, I’m just making sure she doesn’t get into trouble with the law.”
“Hey, I don’t get in trouble with the law!” Vinyl said as Octavia raised an eyebrow at her. “What happened when we got here was not my fault this time. I paid the colt his money.”
“Still didn’t help that you caused a scene in his establishment.”
“Hey, I’m sure things could’ve been worse for you two. You both could’ve been in jail for who knows how long.” said Chie as she walked ahead of the group. “But I will give you two a fair warning. There really is nothing here exciting wise other then you two. That’s what makes it nice, but there is nothing much we can show to people...or ponies from outside. Though, there is something from Mt. Yasogami...I think our dyed clothes or pottery or something is kinda famous.” She said thinking for a moment before snapping her finger. “Oh wait, and there’s the Amagi Inn! Yukiko’s family runs it. It’s the pride of Inaba.”
“Huh? It’s...just an old inn.” Yukiko said as Chie turns her attention at her.
“No way, it’s been in all sortsa magazines as a hidden treasure.”
“What’s so great about the Amagi Inn?” Vinyl asked as Chie looked over at the unicorn.
“It’s a great inn! Great hot springs, delicious food, and relaxing beds. It’s been going for generations, and Yukiko here is going to take over someday. The inn actually gets a lot of visitors to Inaba. It pretty much keeps this town going.” Chie answered as Yukiko spoke up.
“...I don’t think that’s entirely true.” She said before Chie looked over at the ponies.
“Reminds me of the inns in Canterlot, only a bit different. But if this inn is as good as you say it is, then I wouldn’t mind spending a night there.” Vinyl said as she looks over at Octavia for her input.
“Well, it would be interesting to experience another’s culture and try some of their foods. I suppose I’ll join you as well when the time is right. That and to make sure you’re not keeping the residence up with your music.”
“Well as long as you two are here, we’ll try to help you out and stuff if you’re having trouble during your stay.” Chie said as the two nodded to her help. As the group continued down the street, Chie noticed a group of people gathered together on one part of the street. “Huh, what’s that?”
“It looks like there’s something going on down there.” Yukiko answered as they continued on walking until they reached the gathering of people. Once there they saw people talking to each other and a policeman securing the area while making sure no one walked over to the scene that they were investigating. Before they could figure out what happen, they overheard some of the adults talking.
“So that high schooler left school early, and as she came down this street there was a dead body hanging from the antenna.” said a gossipy looking house wife as her friend gasped in surprise by this.
“Wow. Who could imagine THAT hanging from an antenna?”
“I wanted to see it too.”
“Uh, you got here too late. The police and fire department took it down just a moment ago.”
“Well, I think it’s terrifying. I can’t believe a dead body showed up around here.” said another human, chiming in on the conversation which took the group of girls and mares by surprise upon hearing the dead body part.
“Wait...what did she just? A dead body!?” Chie asked as she looked over at the other to confirm that she wasn’t the only one that heard that.
“Yep, she said a dead body was found.” Vinyl said as she couldn’t help but smirk. “And you said that nothing interesting happens in this town.” She said as the tomboy deadpans at her. Chie was about to say something to what the DJ pony just said, only for it to be cut short by a familiar voice calling out to them.
“Hey, what’re you doing here?” The group looked over to their left to see Dojima walking up towards them.
“We were just walking by after getting out from school.” Octavia answered.
“Huh...I should have figured that’d happen.” he said while rubbing his head in annoyance. “That damn principal. We told him not to let them through here…”
“Do you two know him?” Chie asked at the mares both nodded.
“Yep, he’s the guy that took us in after explaining what happen to us. At first he didn’t believe us, but after using some of my unicorn magic he started to believe us in what we told you two before.” Vinyl said as Dojima spoke up.
“I’m Detective Dojima, their guardian as you can put it. Uhh...well, how should I say this...I hope you two can get along with them and see that they stay out of trouble...mainly Vinyl.” He said as Vinyl rolled her eyes underneath her shades. “But enough with the introductions. You four really ought to stop wandering around and head straight home.” Just as he turns around to head back into the crime scene, only for him stop as Adachi ran past him with his hand covering his mouth. The five of them turned their attention onto Adachi who began to throw up off in a nearby bush.
“Reminds me of the first time when I drank to much cider two years ago...only without getting yelled at by my dad for drinking while under age.” Vinyl said as Dojima gritted his teeth in anger from this.
“Adachi! How long are you going to act like a rookie? You want to be sent back to the central office!?”
“I-I’m sorry...Nngh..” Adachi said before continuing to vomit again.
“And there’s the yelling part.” Octavia added as she looked away from the poor weak stomach human. “Just looking at it is making my stomach turn in disgust.” she said as they heard Dojima sighing in disappointment.
“Go wash your face. We’re gonna go around and gather information!” he said before continuing back to the crime scene. Adachi used his sleeve to wipe off any bial that was around his mouth as he quickly followed after Dojima.
“Was this what that announcement was about?” Chie asked before hearing Yukiko speak up to her question.
“What do they mean..it was hanging from the antenna?
“Hey, Yukiko? Why don’t we go to Junes some other time?
“Good idea.” She said as she and Chie turned their attention at Vinyl and Octavia..
“Hey, sorry about this. But we’re gonna have to call the trip around and to Junes off for today.” Chie said as the two mares nodded.
“Understandable. Especially with what just happened here.” Octavia said as she bowed politely at the two humans. “We hope to chat with you tomorrow when we meet up at school. Right Vinyl?”
“Yeah, you two seem okay to me. So I wouldn’t mind hanging out with you.” Vinyl said as she place her hands behind her head.
“Okay then. Starting tomorrow, neighbors, let’s do our best!” Chie said as she and Yukiko start to walk off down the street. Once they were out of ear sight, Vinyl and Octavia started to head off to Dojima’s house while talking to each other along the way.
“Wow, less than a day and something interesting happens down in the sticks.” Vinyl said as Octavia rolled her eyes to her comment.
“I do wish you’d take things a bit more seriously instead of playing it off like it’s a joke or something.”
“What? Well it is true. You heard what Chie said about this place. So hearing that there was a dead body found hanging from an antenna will possible spread around town in less then a day or two. And when we go back to school, everypony will be talking about it.”
“That may be true, but you shouldn’t talk light of situations like this. What if whoever did this will go after somepony else, or worse...they might come after us?”
“Hey, you have nothing to worry about. Do keep in mind that I can still use my magic in this place. So if somepony did try to attack us, they would get a blast of pony magic to the face...that or I toss them to the police station for Dojima to take care of.”
“I guess...if that were to happen, can you at least promise me that you won’t try to show off your magic, or beat them into a bloody pulp?”
“I promise on the showing off part, but for the beating them into a bloody pulp...I make no promises, but I’ll try.” Vinyl said before pausing and raises an eyebrow at Octavia. “Since when have I ever showed off?”
“Drinking contest, battle of the bands, and magic school that time when you wanted to show how well you can play twelve instruments at once.”
“Hey that last one was because of an dare. Which I won by the way.”
“Before or after one of the reeds from your saxophone you were using flew off and hit Princess Celestia in the face?” Octavia asked with slightly smug grin on her face. Vinyl stared at the earth pony for a moment before saying nothing and walking on ahead of her. Octavia couldn’t help but laugh at the unicorn’s response as she quickly followed after her as the two of them continued talking to each other.
(Dojima Residence)
Afternoon
After settling down and helping Nanako with some of the chores around the house, Vinyl, Octavia, and Nanako sat in the living room with the TV on as they watch what was on the station that was being played.
“I wonder if Dad isn't coming home again tonight…” Nanako said, with a sad expression on her face.
“Well he does work with the police to make sure you and anypony else in town is safe. So think of him as a superhero off fighting crime at night.” Vinyl said as Nanako perked a bit from that and gave a small smile to her reply.
“Y-Yeah, that is true. But it would be nice for him to spend time at home.”
“I’m sure when things settle down, I’m sure he’ll be able to spend the night here and not at work.” She said before hearing the news coming on the TV.
“Our top story this evening concerns a bizarre case in a quiet suburb. Around noon today, a woman was found dead near the Samegawa River in Inaba.” The new reporter said as both Vinyl and Octavia were taken by surprise when they showed the school zone where they came from being shown on TV. “The deceased has been identified as Ms. Mayumi Yamano, a 27-year-old announcer at the local television station. The initial results of the Inaba Police Department’s investigation have revealed.” he said as Vinyl and Octavia looked over at Nanako upon hearing her gasping in shock.
“The Inaba Police Department! Th-That’s where Dad works!”
“H-Hey now, he’ll be alright. He’s a big strong colt. I’m sure he’ll be able to knock a pony down with just one punch.” Octavia said, trying to make Nanako less worried about Dojima. Though given the expression on her face, her act of cheering her up didn’t work so well.
“I-I know. That’s his job, so this stuff happens.”
“The body was found hanging from a large television antenna atop a local resident’s roof. Authorities are uncertain as to why the body was in such a state. With the cause of death also uncertain, police continue to investigate whether the death is an accident or a homicide. A thick fog common to the area has slowed their progress, and plans to fully canvass the area are delayed until tomorrow.” The announcer said as a commercial came on.
“They found her on the roof? That’s scary.” Both mares didn’t know what to say at this point as they give worried expressions to each other, as if trying to think of something to help cheer the girl up. As fate would have it, Nanako looked over at the television upon hearing a familiar tune. “Oh, it’s Junes!”
“Junes?” Both mares said as they looked at the television displaying a giant store on it.
“At Junes, everyday is Customer Appreciation Day. Come see for yourself and get in touch with our products! ♪Everyday’s great at your Junes~♪”
“Everyday’s great at your Junes~!” Nanako sang which caused Vinyl and Octavia to stare at her with raised eyebrow. “Is something wrong?”
“N-no...just didn’t expect to hear a nice voice like that coming from you. Are you in a chores or something?” Vinyl asked as the human nodded.
“Yeah, I’m the best one in the class.”
“Seems like you and Octavia have something in common.”
“Really?” Nanako looked over at Octavia who quickly blushed upon seeing them both looking at her.
“W-Well. I mean I was the head of my class for Celestia’s school for the gifted. But that was a long time ago.”
“It’s also the reason why you became the youngest filly who won in almost every classical music competitions. Ranging from vocal to instruments.” She said before seeing Nanako eyes sparkle in excitement. The earth pony looked over at Vinyl with a worried look on her face as the DJ raised a thumb and smiled.
“Talk to the girl. This will get her mind off of what she just heard on the magic picture box thing.” Vinyl whisper before the earth pony’s attention was now focus on Nanako and sighed with a smile.
“What would you like to know Nanako?”

Part Three
“You and Nanako really hit it off last night.” Vinyl said as Octavia let out a loud yawn as she and Vinyl made their way down the street towards their new school. From the time they were awake until midnight, Octavia told Nanako about her time she spent at Celestia School for the Gifted. Mainly how she was a gifted singer, musician, and how she and Vinyl became best friends during their fillyhood.
“Normally I would’ve continued on, but it was getting late and we needed to get some rest before school started.”
“Wish we could’ve used that as an excuse to skip out on class. But knowing how our home room teacher is towards us.”
“Mainly you for throwing that chair at him.” Octavia interrupted as Vinyl flipped her the bird in retaliation.
“He called me a horse! You know I don’t like being called that word.”
“As do all mares and stallions. But was the chair really necessary?”
“No, but it was the closest thing next to me at the time. I don't have any regrets on doing that.”
“And this is why you don’t make that many friends save from me of course.” Octavia said before noticing a human riding past them on a bike and soon crashes into a pile of trash. The two mares turned their attention to the boy as they quickly rushed over to see if he was okay.
“S-Someone...help?” The human asked while flailing his legs about in the air as he was stuck in a trashcan. Vinyl couldn’t help but laugh at what she was seeing for a moment before feeling Octavia elbow her in the side. Vinyl rolled her eyes to her friend’s disapproving look as she used her magic to levitate the boy out of the trash can and onto his feet. “Whew, you saved me. Thanks! Umm…” He looked at the mares up and down for a moment before realising who they were. “Oh yeah, that’s right. You two are the new transfer students, Vinyl Scratch and Octavia Melody.”
“Neat. less than a day and we just became popular.” Vinyl said jokingly as Octavia rolled her eyes.
“Kinda hard not to know who you two are given what happened yesterday. Mostly from almost hitting King Moron with a chair.” He said before going over to pull his bike up from the ground. “I’m Yosuke Hanamura. Nice to meet ya.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Yosuke.” Octavia said as she bowed to the human. “Are you okay? That looked like it really hurt when you crashed.”
“Oh yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve crashed like that before.” He said with a grin on his face for a moment. “Say, did you hear about the incident from yesterday? They found that announcer lady hanging from an antenna! You think it was some kinda warning? There’s no way something that weird could’ve been an accident.”
“You might be right. I mean somepony had to have put her body up there like that.” Octavia said as she placed a hand to her chin. “I mean, what would be their reason to kill that poor human?”
“It could be that she was killed by a crazy stalker or worse. And up and coming serial killer~!” VInyl said with dramatics on the last part, only for her to receive a smack to her shoulder. “What? I’m joking.”
“I mean. Dangling a dead body over a roof like that...That’s just messed up. Then again, it’s pretty messed up to kill someone in the first place.” He said before looking at his watch and let out a gasp. “Oh crap, we’re late! Hey, um, you girls need a ride? It’s a little squeaky, but it should be fine.”
“As much as I would like to. I think I can help out with the whole transport department.” Vinyl said as she placed a hand on Yosuke’s shoulder and motions for Octavia to get close to her.
“Wait, are you planning on teleporting us to school?” Octavia asked which caused Yosuke to blink in confusion.
“Wait, you can do that?”
“Yes to Octavia’s question, and yes to your question Yosuke. I’m a unicorn after all.” Vinyl answered as she pointed a finger to her horn as it glowed. “I did help you out of that trash can after all.”
“Right...sorry...I’m just finding it hard to believe in the whole magical talking h-”
“Ponies!” Octavia quickly interrupts before blushing and clearing her throat. “We’re ponies. Not horses.”
“Okay...Again, just finding it hard to believe you’re walking. Talking, two legged ponies.” He said as VInly grinned upon hearing that.
“Now then. Place your hand on my shoulder...also turn your head to the side a bit.”
“Wait what-” Before he could finish his sentence, Vinyl’s horn began to glow for a moment as the group was instantly teleported from the middle of the street to the front of the school in a flash. Once they appeared, Yosuke stumbled over to the side before kneeling down and throwing up to the side.
“Yeah, that tends to happen to those who experience teleporting for the first time.” The unicorn said before patting the human on the back for comfort. “You okay?”
“Y-Yeah...just..ugh. Never do that again.” He said before pulling himself up while staggering. “Dear god, that was so sudden. How are you able to do that?”
“Magic my dear human friend!” Vinyl answered with a smug grin on her face. “Earth ponies may have brawns, but we unicorns have magic on our side~”
“Yet even with magic, that doesn’t help you in getting out of trouble~” Octavia said as the unicorn deadpans at her as she begins to head towards the school entrance.
“Let’s just go before we’re late and I end up teleporting you to a lake.” She said as Octavia and Yosuke quickly followed after the unicorn as the bell to the school rang.
(Yasogami High School, morning)
“Be quiet, you idiots!” Mr. Morooka yelled as the class turned their attention to him. “You guys Are in high school, aren’t you!? Can’t you shut up during class? Don’t you have any common sense?”
“We would if you actually showed the students here some respect and not treat them like punks with no future!” Vinyl yelled as the teacher glared at her. “I mean jeez, with the way you’ve been acting to them, it’s no wonder they don’t listen to you.”
“Shut it horse girl. First of all, my job is to waste my precious time teaching you assholes philosophy! And Since I’m so nice, I’ll straighten up your rotten attitudes while I’m at it! Aren’t you honored!? And I’ll be going especially hard on any of you morons that’re curious about the murder! Got it!? Now, get your books out!”
“Yeah because you’re such an awesome teacher that we would so love to learn from you dickhead.” Vinyl said as Mr. Morooka's left eye twitched.
“One more word out of you, and I’ll send you to the principal’s office horse.” The man said which caused the whole classroom to go silent. Thinking that he won the fight, Mr. Morooka turned around and began to write on the board. “That’s what I thought, now get to reading shithead.”
“Must you always provoke ponies like that Vinyl?” Octavia asked as she noticed Vinyl’s horn glowing. “What are you doing!?”
“Remember the prank I pulled when we were little fillies at school?” Vinyl asked causing Octavia’s eyes to widen seeing Vinyl placing some odd colored gems inside the teacher’s desk.
“Are you trying to get yourself kicked out of school!? We’re trying to live a normal life here until we can get back home. Not cause trouble and get our flanks kicked out of school.”
“Relax, they’re remote activated. When school is over, I’ll activate them so he doesn’t think I did it.”
“Vinyl, as much as I dislike the man. You can’t get revenge on the guy just because-” Before Octavia could finish, she felt something small hit her head. Looking over she saw a piece of chalk fall from her hair as she looked up to see Mr. Morooka glaring at her and Vinyl.
“What did I say about shutting up and getting to cracking those books!? Now shut up and read horse!” He said before going back to writing on the blackboard. Octavia looked over at Vinyl with a deadpan expression.
“I want nothing to do with your prank, but I’m not going to stop you from doing this.”
“Sweet! Thanks Octavia~!”
“Just so you know. I don’t fully agree with what you’re doing. But seeing how it’s with him, I’ll make an exception.” She said before noticing the magic in Vinyl’s horn disappear as she went back to pretending to read while trying not to bust out laughing. Octavia simply rolled her eyes before feeling her shoulder getting tapped on a few times by Chie.
“Hey, what did Vinyl do just now?” She asked which caused the earth pony to groan.
“She’s going to prank Mr. Morooka with exploding gems that she made during our time in school back in Equestria.”
“Wait, she’s planning on killing him!?”
“What? No! The gems aren’t going to kill him...but he will be splattered with a lot of paint once he opens his desk.”
“As much as I dislike the guy, I think it’s a bad idea to do that.”
“Tell that to Vinyl’s rebellious personality.” She said before noticing Mr. Morooka heading towards his desk. “Oh this is going to end badly.” Once the teacher sat down, he reached down to open his desk, only to be met with a blast of pink, blue, and green paint as he screamed due to the sudden blast. The students look up to see what happens, only for them to make a snickering sound as they try their best to not bust out laughing from seeing their home room teacher covered in pain.
“WHICH ONE OF YOU LITTLE SHITHEADS DID THIS TO ME!?” He yelled as the students burst out into a fit of laughter. “I’M NOT PLAYING AROUND! WHO DID THIS!? WHOEVER DID THIS IS GOING TO BE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE!”
“Whoa, nice make up teacher.” Vinyl said with a cocky grin on her face. “Is that how humans do their make-up?”
“You, you did this didn’t you!?” Mr. Morooka said which Vinyl dawned on an annoyed expression.
“Yeah, cause I totally was able to sneak towards your desk and make it so it could unleash a blast of paint when you open it. Get real dude, it’s kinda hard to do that when you’ve been sitting at your desk since I got here.” She said as the man glared daggers at him before storming off out of the classroom.
“I’ll be keeping my eye on you shithead!” he said before slamming the door behind him. Once he left, the students soon burst out in a fit of laughter as Vinyl leaned back in her seat with a smirk on her face.
“Oh this is going to be a very fun school year in Inaba~”
(Yasogami High School, After School)
“So, you two getting used to this place?” Yosuke asked as the two mares nodded. “Wow, that was fast.”
“Well the school may be different, but the stuff we’re learning is somewhat similar to our education. For the most part.” Vinyl said while stretching. “Thank Celestia for the instant learning spell, otherwise this would be a pain to read and study.”
“Wait, you can do that?” Yosuke asked as the unicorn nodded. “Dude! You gotta do that spell on me! That would totally help me with King Moron’s homework.”
“Vinyl, you can’t do that. What if that spell blew his head off, or worse!?” Octavia said as she shudders at the grim image of that. “We don’t know if magic can hurt humans.”
“It didn’t hurt Adachi when I was levitating him. And I’m pretty sure it won’t blow his head off or anything like that. But we can test something out on king moron if you like?” Octavia paused at the thought of having Vinyl turn Mr. Morooka into a donkey would be fitting...no, it was still wrong and she was the one that needed to keep the DJ pony in check.
“We’re trying to keep a low profile Vinyl. Not draw a lot of unneeded attention to ourselves.”
“Well that might be hard to do seeing how you’re magical talking ponies.Which might draw in a lot of people from out of town.” Yosuke said as he noticed a deadpan expression on Octavia’s face. “What? You don’t see something like this down here in the boonies. Then again, there isn’t much to see or do here compared to the big city, but there is that certain...something you can’t get anywhere else.”
“What’s that?” Octavia asked.
“The air’s clean, the food’s great...Oh, you know about the local delicacy?” he asked as both mares shook their heads. “It’s grilled steak, man! Like that’s anything special, huh?”
“Did you say, grilled steak?” Vinyl asked as a bit of droll ran down the side of her lip as she whipped it off.
“Yep, I know a place where you can get it cheap. Wanna come? You two did help me out this morning, so it’s on me.” He said before realizing something. “Oh crap! Totally forgot that you girls don’t eat meat.”
“Technically we can eat meat. But it’s usually out of means of respect when we have to perform out of Equestria.” Octavia said before looking at Vinyl. “Vinyl on the other hand, eats it daily when she gets the chance.”
“Hey, it’s not like I’m eating ponies or anything with sentient life. It’s mainly just Manticore meat or Cocatrice meat I eat.” Vinyl said as Yosuke sighed in relief.
“Okay good. Then I’ll treat you two to grilled steaks.” he said before his happy expression changed to an annoyed one when he noticed Chie walking over to them.
“What about me, huh? No apologies? My “Trail of the Dragon” ring a bell or two?”
“Urgh...You always come around when I’m talking about food.” he said as Chie turned her attention to Yukiko.
“How about it, Yukiko? Don’t you think he should treat us, too?”
“I’ll pass...I don’t want to gain any more weight. I need to help out at the inn today, anyway.” Yukiko answered.
“Wow, Yukiko-san! You started training to take over the business?” Yosuke asked as Yukiko shook her head.
“It’s not like that! I’m just helping out when it gets busy.” She said before quickly gathering her belongings and headed out of the classroom. “Well, I should be on my way. See you all around town or next time we have class.”
“Oh well. We should get going too.” Chie suggested.
“Huh? Do I seriously have to treat three people?” He asked as the three girls nodded, causing Yosuke to groan in annoyance. “Alright fine. Let's go to Junes.”

“This is the cheap place you were talking about? They don’t have grilled steak here.” Chie pouted as Yosuke appeared at the table the four of them were sitting at with a tray that had four burgers and drinks on it.
“Yeah, well, once you hopped on the freeloader train. I had to change my plans.” He said before taking a seat at the table.”Dude, this isn’t my place or anything.”
“What does he mean by that?” Vinyl asked as she leaned in her seat while levitating a burger over to her along with a drink.
“Oh, right. I haven’t told you yet, huh? I moved here from another city about six months back. This location just opened up, and my dad was assigned to manage it. So our entire family came out here.” he said before noticing Vinyl using her magic to levitate her food over to her. “Welcome to Inaba you two.”
“Thank you very much.” Octavia said before taking her meal and jabs Vinyl’s side.
“Yeah, thanks dude.” Yosuke nodded with a smile before looking over at Chie. “Satonaka, yours is on me too.”
“Yeah, I know.” She said before taking her meal as well. “It’s only been half a year since this place opened up, but I haven’t been to the local shopping district much since. A lot of stores there started closing, and...Oh, uh…” Chie said before pausing and looking away awkwardly.
“You can’t blame it all on Junes, can you?” He asked before looking over at Vinyl and Octavia for an answer. The two mares looked at each other as Vinyl simply shrugged.
“Can’t blame a company for trying to do what it’s supposed to do. That would be like blaming video games for kids acting like idiots.” She said before noticing Yosuke going silent while looking off to the side. “Something wrong?”
“Hey, it’s Saki-senpai!” He yelled before standing up to walk over to the human girl. “Sorry, be right back.”
“Didn’t know he has a girlfriend.” Vinyl said before hearing Chie laughing.
“Haha, he wishes. That’s Saki Konishi. Her Family runs a liquor store in the shopping district. I think she’s working here part-time, though I think it’s mainly because the store hasn't made much money since Junes opened up.”
“Wait, this place has a liquor store? As in alcoholic beverages?” The unicorn asked as she flinched upon seeing Octavia giving her a stern gaze. “H-Hey, relax. It’s not like I can drink it due to my age...sadly.” She said before listening to Yosuke’s conversation.
“Hey, how’s it going? You look beat.” Yosuke said as Saki turned her attention to him.
“Heeey! I’m finally on break...What’s up, Hara-chan? Boosting the family business by bringing your friends here?”
“Madam, you wound me!” The young man said in dramatic fashion. “Kidding aside...You look down. Did something happen?”
“It’s nothing. I-I’m just a little tired.”
“Hey, if you need to talk, I’m always willing to listen. I…” Before he could finish, Saki interrupted him by chuckling.
“I’m okay, really. Thanks, though.” She said before letting out a sigh. “Why’d I leave school early yesterday?” Just as she turns her head a bit, she notices Vinyl and Octavia sitting off in the seat across from her. “Hey...aren’t they the cosplayers who transferred here?” She asked before getting up from her seat and headed over to them with Yosuke following after her. “Are you two the new transfer students that I’ve been hearing about at school?”
“Yep, the name’s Vinyl Scratch. And the lovely mare next to me is my partner in crime, Octavia Melody.” Vinyl said as Octavia rolled her eyes.
“Not a partner in crime. I’m her friend that keeps her out of trouble...at least I try to for the most part.” Octavia said as she noticed Saki eyeing the two up and down. “Is there something wrong?”
“How did you two pull off such amazing cosplay outfits. They look so real, like something you would see on a cartoon show or something.”
“That’s because we’re actual real ponies.” Octavia said as Vinyl levitated her own food in front of Saki as poof, causing the girl to yelp and recoil back a bit from this. “...Not the example I wanted to show her, Vinyl...But I guess that will do for proof. You see, we’re ponies from a country called Equestria. I’m an earth pony, while Vinyl is a unicorn as you can see.”
“Wow...Um...I...don’t know how to reply to that for the most part.” Saki said before eyeing Vinyl a bit. “Wait...you’re the girl that got tazed by the police a few days ago.” She said which caused Octavia to blink in surprise and Vinyl to groan.
“Wait, how did you know about that?” Vinyl asked as the human pulled out a phone and pulled up a video of Vinyl getting tazed. “...It was...recorded.”
“Yeah, so far it’s been hitting up a storm on the internet. I thought it was just something weird, but I was glad I was able to download it from a friend of mine.” Saki said which caused Octavia to smirk at the unicorn.
“Don’t give me that smug look. I’m pretty sure you have moments where you messed up like I have, Octavia.”
“I’m not going to say a thing...though I am going to save that moment as “Proof you’re an idiot.” for when you say that you’re not an idiot.”
“Still finding it hard to believe you’re...real.” Saki said before putting her phone away. “Still, nice to see Hana-chan having new friends. He’s a good guy, but he can get noisy sometimes. You gotta tell him right to his face when he starts to annoy you.”
“Reminds me of a certain mare that tends to be noisy at times.” Octavia said which caused Vinyl to roll her eyes.
“Nah, he's a great guy. Especially when he offers us food for free.”
“Heh, I know. I’m just kidding.”
“C-C’mon, Senpai. There’s no need to worry about something like that.” Yosuke said as Saki turned her attention to him for a moment as she gave him a weak smile.
“Well, my break’s just about over. Back to work I go.” She said before walking off towards Junes. “Laters!”
“Oh, uh, Senpai…” Yosuke said, a bit disappointed for a split moment before taking a seat back to where Chie, Vinyl, and Octavia were sitting. “Hahah, Saki-senpai says I’m annoying, but she’s noisier than me. She has a younger brother, and she treats me pretty much the same way.”
“Ohhh, you don’t want her treating you like a brother, huh? Haha, I get it. So that’s how it is.”
“The daughter of a local family-run liquor store and the scion of the invading chain...Hehe, the flames of forbidden love! I love to see how that turns out for you dude.” Vinyl added as Yosuke blushed in embarrassment.
“What!? Dude, it’s not like that.”
“Oh reaaaally...well, I know just the thing to cheer up that lovesick heart.” Chie said before looking from side to side and whispers to the group. “Have you ever heard of the Midnight Channel?”
“The Midnight Channel? What’s that?” Octavia asked as Chie grinned.
“It’s a mysterious TV channel that comes on at midnight. You’re supposed to look into a TV that’s switched off, and, at exactly midnight on a rainy night. While you’re staring at your own image, another person will appear on the screen. And they say that person’s your soulmate.”
“What? For a second, I thought you were actually going to say something useful.” Yosuke said as he rolled his eyes to what Chie said. “How can you get all excited over such a childish urban legend like that?”
“Childish, huh? You don’t believe it, do you!?”
“Of course I don’t. Given your track record on stuff like this, I don’t believe a word you're saying about this Midnight Channel.”
“Well, it’s raining tonight! Let’s all try it out, then you’ll see!”
“Try it out?’ Vinyl said before lifting her shades and looked over at Chie. “Wait you haven’t even tried it yourself?” She asked which caused the human girl to blush a bit as she looked off to the side. “...Wow.”
“All that aside...you know that “incident” yesterday? You guys think it was murder?” Yosuke said before grinning a bit. “Ooh, what if the culprit behind it was still lurking around? Heehee.”
“Sheesh, you shouldn’t joke about stuff like that. Now who’s the childish one?” She said before taking a sip from her drink. “Look, all I’m saying is, you guys better try it out tonight.”
“Might as well give this thing a try.” Vinyl said before returning to eating her food. “You’re onboard with this right, Octavia?”
“I’m not into the whole superstition stuff like ghosts and curses. But I wouldn’t lie and say that I’m not curious as to see what this Midnight Channel is. Might lead us to some clues as to how Vinyl and I can get back home.” Octavia said as Vinyl’s eyes widened to this.
“Oh yeah, that might help too. Now we definitely gotta watch it tonight.”
(Dojima Residents, Evening)
After spending some time with Chie and Yosuke over at Junes, Vinyl and Octavia made their way back to Dojima’s home. Once inside they make their way into the front room as they see a plate of sushi, and three bowls of miso soup in the middle of the table and Nanako at the foot of it. The trio began to eat the meal given to them by Nanako as they heard the front door open for a good five second before closing.
“I’m back.” Dojima said as he made his way to Nanako and the others. “Did anything happen while I was out?” he asked as Nanako looked over at him with a huffy expression on her face.
“No. You’re late again…”
“I’m sorry. Been busy at work.” Dojima said as he took a seat on the couch with a sigh of relaxation escaping his mouth. “Can you put the news on for me?” He asked as Nanako begrudgingly complied as she changed the station on the TV to the news.
“Next, more details in the developing story on the incident in foggy Inaba. Announcer Mayumi Yamano’s dead body was found hanging above a house in this isolated rural town. It is confirmed that Ms. Yamano had been involved in an affair with Taro Namatame, husband of enka singer Misuzu Hiiragi.”
“You know, if we had stuff like this back home. Normal life would be somewhat interesting.” Vinyl said before realising her mistake. “Television, not what’s going on in the news.”
“Ever thought of reading a book to pass the time?” Dojima asked.
“The only time Vinyl reads a book is if it involves some new equipment to her turntable.” Octavia answered. “Other than that, she’ll either be at another gig or drinking at a nearby tavern or bar in her attempt to beat Neon Light in a drinking contest.”
“Hey, I had him by the ropes last time.”
“Yeah and look how that turned out for you.” She said before turning her attention at the news.
“The Police plan to investigate this relationship and question any personnel involved with them. In addition, we now bring you an exclusive interview with the local student who found Ms. Yamano’s body.”
“An interview with the kid...where the hell did they find her?” Dojima asked as he focused on the news.
“What went through your mind when you saw it? Could you tell she was dead? Did you see her face?”
“U-Umm…”
“Hey, that’s the girl we saw at Junes food court today. Saki Konishi, right?” Vinyl said as she lifted her shades to get a closer look at the TV screen.
“Don’t you think it’s scary that someone was killed on a foggy day?”
“Huh? She was killed?” Saki asked as the news reporter tried to correct his mistake.
“Oh, errr...So did you see anyone suspicious around here?”
“No, not really...unless you count those weird cosplayers down by the food court today?” She said as it caused Dojima to look over at Vinyl and Octavia with a bit of a worried expression on his face.
“Before you say anything. I didn’t cause any trouble, we only introduced ourselves to the girl and idle chatting. Nothing more.” Vinyl said before placing her shades back on. “
“And I’m sure they won’t pay much attention to that given how she called us cosplayers...which I find very offensive for the most part.” Octavia added.
“A tragedy that occurred near the local shopping district. Many storeowners are raising concerns about losing customers as a result.”
“Hmph. If they lose more customers it’ll be because you’re making such a stink about it.” Dojima said with a tired expression before dozing off to sleep.
“It really is a bizarre case, isn’t it?” said a male commentator. “I mean, hanging someone upside down from an antenna? I’d have to say it’s a warning or a sign from the culprit.”
“Yes, but so far, no one has come forward to take credit for the crime.”
“So the cause of death is still unknown? And they don’t have a single suspect yet? Taxpayers’ funds are going to a police force who can’t even figure out if this is an accident or a homicide?”
“I don’t see you doing anything about it pal.” Vinyl said while levitating a piece of food into her mouth. “Seriously? I hate ponies that say stuff like that without any knowledge of what it takes to get stuff like this done.”
“You have one that works for the police?” Nanako asked as Vinyl nodded.
“Well back in Equestria, we called them the Royal Guards. They’re kinda like the police force here. Just without guns...or cars...or anything that the police use here...Man we are somewhat underdeveloped.”
“I mean...yeah you’re right about that Vinyl. But Equestria’s not so bad.” Octavia said before taking a piece of sushi and eating it. “We at least got the radio to listen to stuff like this.”
“Yeah, but hearing it is kinda boring at times.”
“We’ll be right back after these messages.” The announcer said as a building of Junes appeared on the screen.
“ At Junes, everyday is Customer Appreciation Day. Come see for yourself, and get in touch with our products! Every day’s great at your Junes!”
“Every day’s great at your Junes~!” Nanako sang before looking over at Dojima. “Hey Dad. Can we go to Junes together sometime?” Nanako asked as she looked over at her father, who was sleeping like a log.
“Wow, must’ve been a hard day at work for him to pass out like that.” Vinyl said as she noticed a huffy expression on Nanako’s face. “Need help getting him to bed?”
“No, I’ll wake him up when I’m about to go to bed. This wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened before.”
“If you say so.” Vinyl said as she heard the rain falling. The unicorn looks over at Octavia who was looking back at her with a nod. “Need help cleaning up Nanako? I can use my magic to help you if you need it.”
“Oh, don’t worry about it. I’ll take care of it.” She said before standing up and taking the dishes off the small table they were eating from and heading towards the kitchen.
“Okay, we’ll be upstairs in the guest room doing school work. Feel free to come hangout with us if you want.” Octavia said as she and Vinyl headed upstairs to the guest room. Once the two entered the guest room, Octavia quickly closed the door behind them as Vinyl looked over at the clock.
“It’s midnight. Now if what Chie said about the midnight channel is true your soulmate appears if you look into a TV on a rainy night. You think that it’s true, Octy?”
“Hard to say.” She said before walking over to the TV along with Vinyl. Just as the unicorn took a step forward, a sudden sharp pain radiated throughout Vinyl and Octavia’s head. The pain soon vanished as the TV screen started to flicker on and off as they saw what looked like a human girl on the screen for a moment before turning off.
“...What the hay just happened?” Vinyl asked as she shook her head from the sudden pain she felt.
“I-I don’t know. But something tells me that this Midnight Channel might be the cause of it.” Octavia said as she walked over to the TV. Once there, she tapped on the screen as it caused it to move like water when someone throws a small stone into the water. “Okay that’s just weird.”
“Yeah, very weird.” Vinyl said before pressing her hand onto the TV screen as she soon felt herself being pulled into it. “Oh shit!?”
“Vinyl!?” Octavia yelled before quickly pulling onto her tail and tried to pull her out of the TV. In a matter of seconds, she successfully pulled the DJ pony out of the TV as she hit her head on the edge of the table and Vinyl fell face first onto the floor.
“Are you two okay?” said a familiar voice as they heard Nanako’s voice from behind the door.
“Yeah, we’re fine. Just messing around with Octavia and stuff.” Vinyl quickly answered.
“Well, okay. Good night.” Nanako said as the two heard the human girl walk off into her room.
“Okay...so that’s something weird.” Vinyl said before pulling herself up from the floor and looking over at Octavia. “You okay?”
“Yeah, just hit my head on the table.” The earth pony said as she felt the pain in her head leaving and was replaced with a warm fuzzy feeling. Looking up, she noticed Vinyl’s horn glowing as she pulled herself up. “Thanks for doing that....what just happened?”
“I don’t know. But it's a good thing that you pulled me out, otherwise I might end up in who knows where through that portal.”
“How do you know it’s a portal?”
“Pretty sure it’s a portal seeing how the TV didn’t spout eyes and attack us like it did back home when Discord attacked Ponyville that time.” Vinyl said before backing away from the TV. “But I can say that this Midnight Channel thing might be something that could take us home...I think.”
“We should run this by the others tomorrow. Maybe Chie might know something more about this seeing how she mentioned this channel.”
“Yeah, lets get some rest and talk with her tomorrow.”

Backside of The TV
[Early Morning, Streets of Inaba]
“I still can’t get over what happened last night.” Vinyl said as the two made their way to school. “I mean, I can understand if the TV was magical or something. But I didn’t sense any magic coming off it. And from what I know. Humans can’t do magic like I can.”
“You don’t think that we might be the cause of that do you? We aren’t exactly something you would see here in this place.” Octavia said as she felt rain starting to fall down from the sky. She was about to use the umbrella that Nanako gave her, but stopped upon seeing Vinyl using her magic to create a dome around them. “You sure you should be using your magic like that? Aren’t you worried that you might not be able to use your magic so long as we’re in this...place? World? I don’t even know anymore.”
“World actually. From what I can gather from that book King Moron gave, we’re on a planet called Earth. Which is home to a crap ton of humans, different races, culture, etc. They’re almost similar to us for the most part.”
“....Okay, one. I’m freaking out internally due to knowing that we’re in a different world. I’m not showing because we’re outside, and I prefer not to look crazy like you do.”
“Hey, that only happens...fifty-five percent of the time.”
“Second, how is it that you can stay focused on learning something like that here, but when it comes to Equestria stuff you’re a foal that loses interest with a toy?”
“I don’t know. Maybe because it’s interesting to read stuff like this then stuff in Equestria that revolves around Friendship and Magic of friendship twenty-four seven...it’s can be annoying to hear that every bucking day, you know?”
“....Point taken...Did what you read make any sense as to how you could have your arm sink through the screen of the TV?”
“So far, no. But we’ll have to look into that once we can get our hands on a device called a computer.”
“And where can we get one of those? Not to mention, we don’t have bits to buy it, remember?”
“No, but we know a certain police man that can help us~”
“Right, Mr. Dojima did say he would help us with the money situation. I'm sure he hasn’t forgotten about that given how he’s been busy with work.”
“I’m sure he’ll talk to us when he’s not busy. For now, let’s just focus on trying to survive here and find our way back home.” Vinyl said as she heard someone running up behind her and Octavia. She turns around to see Chie running past the two, only to pause as she doesn't feel the rain fall on her as she looks up to see that magical dome.
“Whoa! How is that even possible!?” Chie asked as she looked over at Vinyl and Octavia.
“You can thank Vinyl for that.” Octavia said as she pointed at Vinyl’s horn which was glowing.
“Unicorn magic for the win. It’s very helpful when it comes to stuff like this.” Vinyl said as she watched Chie stretch her hand outside of the barrier before pulling her hand back in.
“Man, you guys are something. I wasn’t expecting something like this to be a real thing...I’m not dreaming am I?” The human asked as Vinyl pinched her shoulder. “Ow! What was that for?”
“Just making sure you weren’t dreaming~” The unicorn said, only for Octavia to smack her upside her head.
“Sorry for Vinyl’s rude behavior. She tends to do things like this when someone asks that.”
“It’s fine. I’m a bit glad that your friend can do something like this with her magic.” Chie said as she tried to knock off some of the rainwater that fell on herself. “I did have my own umbrella, but I saw this kung fu movie where they used an umbrella to pull off some sweet moves...and...well….I accidentally broke mine trying to mimic the movie.”
“...Reminds me of the time Vinyl broke the face of a statue of Princess Celestia.”
“In my defense...that statue was ugly looking anyway.” Vinyl said as Octavia deadpanned at her.
“Oh, before I forget. Did you two see it?” Chie asked which caused Vinyl and Octavia to look at her with confused expressions on their faces. “You know, the thing we were talking about yesterday. That Midnight Channel.”
“Oh right, yeah we saw it...and let’s just...we have a lot to talk about.” Vinyl said as Chie placed a finger to her own lips.
“Let’s save the conversation for when the others are around. We’re gonna be late for school if we talk about it now.”
“I wouldn’t worry about being late for school.” Vinyl said as her horn began to glow. “You might want to turn your head to the side.”
“What do you mean by-” Before she could finish, she along with Vinyl and Octavia were teleported within seconds as they appeared near the entrance of the school. Chie blinked for a moment before feeling her stomach turn as she soon vomited off to the side. “W-What the hell just happened!?”
“I figure we get to school quickly by teleporting to school….matter of fact. Maybe we should do that more than just walk.” Vinyl said as she looked over at Chie who vomited again. “Sorry, I should've warned you about the one time side effect for non-unicorns being teleported.”
“Ugh, well there goes my breakfast.” Chie said before noticing how she quickly recovered from feeling sick. “Huh...I don’t feel sick like before.”
“Yeah, the effect of being sick after being teleported only lasts for a good few seconds.” Octavia said as she walked over to the human and handed her a handkerchief to wipe the bile off her mouth. “As an apology for what Vinyl did, she’ll get you something to eat during lunch time.”
“Wait what? Why do I have to do it?” Vinyl asked as the earth pony deadpans at her causing the unicorn to flinch by her expression. “Fine, I’ll give her my lunch when I head back home. I’ll just eat the grass around here or whatever.” Before Chie could say anything, the school bell rang as they noticed some of the students making their way inside of the school.
“We better head inside before we’ll be late for class. Don’t want King Moron to lecture us with one of his boring old lectures.” Chie said before rushing off to class.
“Come along Vinyl. I’m sure you wouldn’t want to get yelled at by our homeroom teacher.” Octavia said as Vinyl rolled her eyes underneath her shades before following after Chie along with Octavia.
[Yasogami High School, After School]
“Humans are so weird.” Vinyl said as she leaned back in her seat. “A lot of this stuff I’m reading is almost similar to how things are back in Equestria. Well the names of certain towns and cities, they can’t use magic like we can, and we have magical items and stuff in Equestria that work.”
“It’s kinda scary when you think about it. But it’s also interesting that they have a lot of people that play such lovely music. Nice of the teacher to give me a sample of it for us to listen to...This might give me some idea for me to write up a few new songs for ponies back home to listen to.”
“I guess….wait...does this place have music of my kind?”
“...No.”
“Oh come on. Can you imagine if they have the music I’m looking for?”
“It wasn’t so bad.”
“You blew up half of our home.”
“....Like I said. It wasn’t so bad.” Vinyl said as Octavia was about to say something, only for her to pause as she and the DJ pony heard Yosuke’s voice from behind.
“Y-Yo, um...It’s, uh, it’s not really that important...well, yesterday on TV, I…” He said as the two mares noticed a nervous expression on his face. “Never mind. Look, I’ll tell you two later. Hehehe…”
“You heard the rumors as well, Yosuke?” Chie asked after walking up to the trio. “Saki-senpai’s supposedly the one who discovered that body.”
“I wonder if that’s why she looked so down...She doesn’t seem to be at school today either.” Yosuke said as Octavia nodded.
“It would make sense. Not many can stomach something like that. Even I couldn’t if I saw something like that out of the blue.” The earth pony said as she shivers a bit. “I’m getting a bit sick just thinking about it.”
“I think I would rather see that, then a decapitated head on a pike.” Vinyl said as it caused everyone to shiver at the thought of that. “Celestia that would cause an even bigger uproar in this town.” She said as her ears twitched up hearing a chair being moved. Looking over next to her, she saw Yukiko standing up from her seat and was about to leave, only to stop by Chie speaking to her.
“Hey Yukiko, are you helping at the inn today too?”
“Things are really out of hand right now...I’m sorry.” The girl said before leaving the classroom in a hurry.
“Is it just me, or does Yukiko-san seem way stressed out today?” Yosuke asked as Chie nodded.
“I guess they’re running her ragged.” She said before suddenly realizing something. “Oh, by the way. Did you see...it last night?”
“You mean the Midnight channel?” Octavia asked as Chie nodded. “I take it you saw what was on TV?”
“I did! I seriously saw a girl there! But...my soulmate’s a girl? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Could be that you’ll find love with the same gender~” Vinyl said as she felt Octavia smacked her upside her head. “What!? I’m joking, okay?”
“I couldn’t quite tell who it was, but it was a girl for sure. From what I could see, her hair was brown, about shoulder length. She was also wearing a school uniform.”
“Hey, I think that’s the same person I saw.” Yosuke said as he chimes in onto the conversation. “I couldn’t make out that much detail, though. That image I saw was much blurrier.”
“Wait, so you saw it too!? And we saw the same girl? Does that mean...we have the same soulmate?”
“How should I know?” He said before looking over at Vinyl and Octavia. “How about you two? Did you see it?”
“We both saw the same thing as well. Though that’s not the only thing that happened.” Octavia said as Chie and Yosuke looked at each other for a moment before looking back at the two mares.
“Yeah, I almost got sucked in through the TV. Kind of glad that it was too small for me to fit through though.” Vinyl added as the two humans raised their eyebrows at her.
“It sounds like we all saw the same person. But weird voices aside, what was that about getting sucked into your TV? Were you that tired last night? You must’ve just fallen asleep in front of your TV or something.” Yosuke asked before hearing Chie speak up.
“That’d be one interesting dream, though. I mean, it’s impossible for someone to get stuck in a TV like that.”
“Oh? So it’s impossible for two anthropomorphic ponies to be talking to you two?” Vinyl asked, which caused Chie and Yosuke to look at each other for a moment before looking back at them. “Yeah, I thought so.”
“Vinyl does have a point there. I mean, we shouldn’t even be here in this country. But here we are, having a conversation like it’s nothing.” Octavia said as Chie and Yosuke hesitantly nodded. “Plus both witnessed Vinyl using magic on multiple occasions.”
“You make a valid point...But if what you’re saying is true, then we need to see if this theory is true.” Chie said before looking over at Yosuke. “Does June's sell large flatscreen TVs?”
“Well yeah. Flatscreen TVs are definity in these days. We can head over there and see if what happens to Vinyl happens there as well.”
“Sounds like a plan. I’ll just teleport us to Junes in a matter of seconds.” Vinyl said as her horn began to glow. “Might want to gather your belongings. Because it takes a good two hours for me to teleport from one place to another in rapid sessions.”
(Junes, Electronics Department)
“DEAR CELESTIA! LOOK AT THIS PLACE!” Vinyl yelled as she was darting around the store at the various electronics being displayed. Specifically the electronics that go to music. “It’s like a bucking gold mine of electronics to modify my wubs!”
“Is she always like this?” Chie asked as Octavia sighs and nodded.
“Sadly, yes. Obviously I should’ve realized that this is the human version of the country of neighpon. We have more important matters to attend to.”
“What can be more important than this!?” Vinyl asked as she looked over at the earth pony who was deadpanning at her and motions to the giant flatscreen TV next to her and the humans who were touching the screen to the TV. “Oh, right...sorry about that.” She said before walking over to them.
“Nope, can’t get in. Figure.” Yosuke said with disappointment in his voice.
“You sure Vinyl almost fell through into the TV and not just dreamed about it?” Chie asked as Octavia shook her head.
“Again, you're talking to two magical ponies from another country. What more do you need to know that we’re not lying?” Octavia asked as she heard Vinyl speak up.
“Pretty sure they need physical proof about that.” The white unicorn said as she raised her hand up for a moment before placing it onto the screen of the TV. Nothing happened within the next ten seconds, and Yosuke was about to say something. Only for his mouth to drop upon seeing Vinyl’s hand sinking into the TV. “Like this, see? Now do you believe us?”
“H-Her arm...is inside the TV?” Yosuke said, flabbergasted by what he was seeing along with Chie.
“I-Is that some kind of...new model? L-Like with a new function?” Chie asked.
“Hell no! Does this look like some high tech fantasy store or something from an anime!?”
“You gotta be kidding me...Did you really stick your hand through the screen?”
“Holy crap...this is for real...Wait, are you using your magic or something?” Yosuke asked as Vinyl pointed a finger to her horn.
“If I was using my magic, then my horn would be glowing right now.” Vinyl said, which took him and Chie by surprise when the unicorn sticks her head through the screen.
“Vinyl! What are you doing!?” Octavia yelled as she tried to pull her out.
“Dude, there’s nothing here but empty space...kind of spacious in a way!”
“Just like your head, now get out of there you thick headed idiot!”
“Holy crap! I think this is all too much for my bladder.” Yosuke said as she started running in place with his hands on his crotch.
“What the? Are you gonna pee your pants!?” Chie asked with a dumbfounded expression on her face.
“I’ve been holding it all day! I-I haven’t had a chance to go!” He said before running off to the bathroom...only to quickly return to the group. “Shit! Customers! They’re coming!”
“What!? But we got a pony girl half stuck in the TV here!” Chie said as she and Yosuke began to run around in a panic of the situation they’re in. While this was happening, the two humans collided with each other which in turn caused them to trip and fall onto Vinyl and Octavia. Upon feeling them falling onto them, the whole group was soon pushed into the TV as they all screamed in a mix of panic, fear, or excitement as the screen lit up for a moment before returning to normal.

“Vinyl…Vinyl?” Octavia said as the unicorn let out a low groan of pain. “Oh for the love of Celestia. Wake up you stupid mare!” She yelled before raising a hand and slapping Vinyl’s face a couple of times. On the eighth slap, the DJ pony quickly woke up and stopped the earth pony from slapping her again by using her magic to stop her.
“I’m up! I’m up!” Vinyl yelled as she quickly backed away from Octavia while rubbing her face from the pain she felt. “Geez, did you have to slap me that hard?” She asked before looking around the area they were in. She soon notices Chie and Yosuke pulling themselves up from the ground. “You guys okay?”
“I think my butt’s cracked now.” He said before looking around the area they were in. “Whoa!”
“What now!? Did you wet your pants!?” Chie said as Yosuke glared at her.
“No, stupid! Look around!” He said as she along with Vinyl and Octavia looked around to see that they were standing in the middle of a studio.
“Is this…a studio?” Chie asked as she tried to knock some of the fog away but to no avail. “All this fog, or is it smoke?”
“Are we on some kind of set or something?” Octavia asked. “Do TVs let you be able to enter into places like this?”
“No…at least to my knowledge. There’s no place like this in Inaba…right?” Chie asked as Yosuke shook his head
“Hell no. But man, this place is huge.”
“I know right…this would be a cool place to host a party.” Vinyl said as Octavia rolled her eyes.
“Now’s not the time for thinking of that Vinyl. What are we gonna do?”
“We could always look around to see if there’s anypony in the area?” Vinyl suggested.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” Yosuke said as she tried to brush the fog away. “Especially with all this fog or smoke covering this place.”
We should head back home and-” Chie paused upon realizing something. “Wait a minute. Which way did we come from?” She asked before quickly looking around to see if she could find an exit of some kind. “I don’t see a way in or out!”
“Relax, I can just teleport us out of here.” Vinyl said as her horn began to glow, only for the magic in her horn to vanish. “....Okay don’t panic everypony.”
“Don’t panic!? How can we not panic if we can’t find a way out of this place!?” Yosuke yelled as he started to panic.
“I-I don’t know!? Don’t yell at me!” yelled Chie as she started to panic as well. “Oh, I just want to go home! Why did that stupid midnight channel have to be real!”
“Settle down everypony,” Octavia said as she placed her hands on Chie’s and Yosuke’s shoulders. “We can’t start panicking just because we’re in an unknown place…that's kind of how I was when Vinyl and I came to Inaba. All we have to do is look around for an exit like Vinyl suggested.”
“Y-You’re right,” Yosuke said as he and Chie slowly began to calm down a bit. “Okay, let’s think about this for a second. We need to find a way out of this place. Any ideas on where to start looking?”
“So far there are two paths on our left and right.” Vinyl said before taking the lead and heading to the walkway to her right. “I suggest we go right.”
“What makes you say that?” Yosuke asked.
“Well, I read in most horror books that if you go left, you’ll end up meeting a bad end at the hands of a monster, or worse, trapped in a room for all eternity~!” Vinyl said in a dramatic fashion, which caused Chie and Yosuke to gulp in fear at the idea.
“Vinyl can you please take this seriously? We’re in another world with no means of getting home…again.” Octavia said as Vinyl lifted her shades to look at her and the other.
“I know, I know, sorry. Just trying to lighten up the mood so it’s not so stressful.”
“I’m more surprised you can act like this. Especially given the situation we’re in.”
“Someone has to be the level-headed one out of the group. Might as well be me seeing how I’m the one with the magic and can keep a cool head.”
“And you’re saying I’m not?”
“Remember our first day in Inaba?”
“You mean before or after you got taxed?” Octavia asked with a smirk on her face.
“...You’re not going to let that one down aren’t you?”
“So long as that video is up on that internet thing, then I’ll never let that one down…I should ask them if I can keep a copy of it later.” She said as Vinyl glared at her.
“Just follow my lead before I throw you off this studio…set…whatever this place is!” She said before the trio followed after Vinyl.
For what felt like hours of walking through the strange place that Vinyl dubbed the backside of the tv. So far from what they could tell through most of the fog, it looked like they were in some kind of run-down city that you would see in a horror movie. No people, thick fog everywhere, buildings that look like they were about to crumble with enough force…yep horror movie. The only thing missing was either a serial killer or monster with sharp fangs chasing after them.
“What is this place? It feels different from where we were before.” Chie said as Yosuke groaned in annoyance.
“It looks like we’re in some kinda building, but…damn, this fog’s so thick I can hardly see.” He said before noticing Vinyl’s horn glowing as she cast some kind of wind spell to blow the fog away. It worked for a good few seconds before the fog returned.
“Not even my magic can make this fog go away. Reminds me of the Everfree Forest, only without the monsters and weird plants.”
“You sure we’re not wandering farther away from getting out of here?” Chie asked as Vinyl shrugged.
“I’m just going by instinct. It’s not like this place has a map or something. But if it makes you feel any better, I did leave a trail behind us in case we get lost.” The unicorn said as she pointed a thumb behind them. Yosuke, Chie, and Octavia looked behind Vinyl to see some glowing stones on the ground that lead back to where they were before.
“Wow…I didn’t think you would do something like that.” Octavia said as a smug grin appeared on Vinyl’s face.
“I may not be as smart as most ponies, but I know when to keep track of where I go when it comes to places like this.” She said before letting out a low yawn. “Maybe we should take a little break from all this walking.”
“Is that a good idea? Especially in a place like this?” Chie asked.
“Well, so far we haven’t seen anything that would or could attack us,” Yosuke said as he looked around himself for a moment before seeing a doorway giving off a strange red light. “Just to be on the safe side, let's head inside that room over there.”
“Yeah, let's head into that doorway with the creepy red ominous light it’s giving off.” Vinyl said sarcastically before hearing Octavia speak up.
“Would you rather stay out here for the monsters or Celestia know what to come and attack us?”
“....Fair enough. Let's head inside.” Vinyl said as she motions for them to enter the room. Upon entering the room, they noticed that it looked like a person’s bedroom that you would expect to see in a house or an apartment building…Minus the paint on the wall and posters of female humans with their faces ripped off. “Okay, if this doesn’t scream horror book material, then I don’t know what it is?”
“Hey, is it me or is the fog lighter here?” Yosuke asked as he pulled out his phone to see if he could get some kind of signal. Sadly he couldn’t get one even after waving his phone around a bit to get said signal. “No service here as well. What a surprise.”
“This place just keeps getting creepier by the minute,” Octavia said as she decided to look around the room they’d entered.
“What are you doing?” Chie asked as she noticed the earth pony opening the closet door and searched inside it.
“Trying to see if this place has some kind of clue or something that could get us out of this place. I’m sure whoever lives here would understand if we just looked around his or her place for a means to get back home?” The earth pony said as she started pulling stuff out of the closet. From what they could tell, the earth pony was pulling out bed linings, pillows, clothing, etc. As she was doing this, Yosake’s eyes widened before placing his hands in between his pants and began to jitter up and down in place.
“Aargh! I can’t hold it any longer! My bladder is gonna explode!” He yelled before heading over to the side of the wall in the room they’re in.
“Yosuke!? What’re you doing!?” Chie yelled.
“I gotta let it out before I piss my pants!”
“You’re going here!? Oh, you have got to be kidding me!?”
“...I mean, given how we’re in a horror book-like setting, it’s understandable that he would take a piss here where we can watch his back, and not get eaten or killed by a monster.” Vinyl said as Octavia popped her head out of the closet.
“Yes, but having him do it here isn’t something a gentle colt should do!” She said with a blush on her face. “Vinyl, do something about that!?” The unicorn places a hand on her chin for a moment before an idea appears in her head. She looked over at Yosuke with her horn glowing as she created a dome around the boy, which took him by surprise.
“What the hell!? What happened to the lights!? Why is it so dark here!?” He asked before noticing a small window opening up from the side. He blinks upon seeing the window open as Vinyl levitated an empty can that Octavia pulled out over to him as the window closed.
“Dude, relax. It’s just one of my spells for when I want privacy.” Vinyl said as she hops onto the bed. “Just yell when you’re done. And don’t worry, we can’t hear anything on our side besides your voice.”
“Wait they have spells like that we’re you’re from?” Chie asked as Vinyl and Octavia nodded.
“We just have a spell for just about almost everything. Teleportation, mind reading, levitation, etc.”
“Is there anything magic can’t do?” Yosuke asked.
“I mean there are some limits. But that just depends on the unicorn or alicorn.” Vinyl said before levitating some stuff around her. “I’m kind of on an average level when it comes to certain magic spells. I can teleport, create soundproof domes, shoot lasers from my horn, create small things that give off light, levitate, and a few other things.”
“You think you can teach me how to use magic?” Chie asks as Vinyl was about to shake her head, but soon ponders the idea of teaching her magic.
“Hm, maybe. But how about we do that after we get out of this place.”
“Yeah, you’re right,” Chie said before examining the room they were in. “What’s with this room? All these posters, their faces are all cut out. Someone must hate this person.”
“I’d be more worried about the noose with a scarf hanging above the chair.” The unicorn said as she pointed a finger off to the side of where Yosake was. Both Chie, Octavia, and Yosuke were taken by surprise by seeing and hearing this.
“How did we not see that!?” Octavia asked.
“In fairness, we weren’t that focused on what was around the room, but the closet…and on how we can get out of here.”
“O-Okay, I’m done. Can you lower the dome so I can leave please?” Yosuke asked as Vinyl snapped her fingers, causing the dome to vanish as he rushed over to the girls. “...Hey…am I the only feeling…kind of sick to their stomach?”
“Now that I think about it, I feel heavy for some reason. Like I just got off from a three-day marathon run.” Chie said as Vinyl noticed a tired expression on her and Yosake’s faces.
“Strange, I don’t feel sick.” Vinyl said before looking over at Octavia. “What about you Tavi? Do you feel sick or tired?”
“I feel perfectly fine.” She said before walking over to the two humans and placing a hand on their foreheads. “Hm, you’re both feeling sweaty and kind of cold. Did you two eat anything that might have caused the way you’re both feeling?”
“Other than what we ate for lunch, we haven’t eaten anything else before coming to this place,” Chie said as she felt Octavia lead her and Yosuke to the bed Vinyl was on.
“If that’s the case, then it must be because of this place we’re in.” The mare said before looking over at Vinyl. “Think you can try and teleport us out of here again?” Vinyl nodded as the unicorn tried to use her magic to teleport them out of this place. At first, she could feel the magic surging in her horn, but it soon vanished like a match in the wind.
“Oh buck me sideways.”
“Language!” Octavia yelled which caused Vinyl to roll her eyes.
“I’m gonna scout ahead and see if I can find a way out for us.”
“You’re going to leave us?” Yosuke asked as Vinyl shook her head.
“Octavia’s going to watch over you two. She may be a musician in classical music, but she’s still an earth pony, and they’re really strong when it comes to muscles.” She said as the humans looked over at Octavia who was blushing a bit.
“W-Well you have to be when carrying a cello…or if you need to help carry a heavy piano with the help of others. But are you sure you should be going ahead by yourself?”
“I have my magic on me, so I can make a barrier around myself if something comes after me. If you need to come after me, I’ll leave a trail for you all to find me.” The unicorn said as she pulled herself off the bed and began to make her way out of the room, leaving Chie, Yosuke, and Octavia alone together.

(Downstairs, Living room)
Both Vinyl and Octavia made their way downstairs once they were finished getting dressed and cleaning themselves up. Once they got there, they soon picked up a rather delicious aroma of something being cooked. Looking over at the table, they saw that the table had three plate with what looks like to be Sunny-side up eggs, toast, bacon, and a cup of coffee for each plate on the table.
“Sweet! Food!” Vinyl yelled as she quickly took a seat at the table and began to eat. Octavia rolled her eyes to her friend’s action as she walked over to the table and took a seat.
“Good morning.” Both mares looked over to their left to see Nanako walking over towards them with a plate of her own.
“Good morning Nanako. Did you cook all this by yourself?” Octavia asked as the little girl nodded to her answer.
“Yeah. I can toast bread, cook sunny-side up eggs, and bacon in the morning.”
“Oh man! How I missed eating this back in Ponyville~.” The DJ said as she finished eating one of the eggs before starting to make a little breakfast sandwich with the other egg and bacon. “If you can cook like this, I wonder if the police dude can cook something good.”
“Dad can’t cook, so I buy dinner.”
“....How bad of a cook is he?”
“He….almost burnt the house down once.” Nanako chuckled weakly from the bad memory of Dojima cooking dinner. “Um, question if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Go ahead and ask I’m like a open book...to some degree.”
“Your both ponies right?” Nanako asked as the mares shook their heads yes to her question. “How can you two eat eggs and bacon? Wouldn’t that hurt your stomachs?”
“Well…..um….how do I put this in a way you’ll understand.” Octavia said as she tried to think of a way to answer the little girl’s question.
“We travel the world a lot back home. So we kinda had to try different types of food that the country that invited us had to offer. Even if it means eating meat. That’s mostly in Griffonstone and the Minotaur country. And Faust knows you don’t want to piss them off by saying no to what they have to give you to eat.”
“Vinyl, language.” Octavia said which got the DJ pony to roll her eyes.
“Oh, so the more you ate it the more your stomachs got used to the taste of meat?” Nanako asked which in turn caused Octavia to nod.
“In a way yes. Though we rarely eat it nowadays...Well I do at least. I don’t know about Vinyl though.”
“Oh I still eat meat. It’s just hard to find some that doesn’t require you to hunt down an animal or something along those lines.” The DJ said as she continues to eat her breakfast sandwich along with taking sips from her cup of coffee. “This place has meat that you can buy right.”
“Yeah, we have stores that sell different kinds of meat.” Nanako said which caused Vinyl to grin.
“Oh I’m so going to enjoy staying in Inaba.”
“Oh, before I forget. Dad said that he wants to meet you two at the High School that you’ll be attending.”
“So he’s not here in the house?” Octavia asked which Nanako shook her head no. “That would explain why there were only three plates on the table.”
“My school’s on the way to your school, so let’s go together.” The little girl said with a sweet innocent smile on her face.
“I don’t see why not. You are the second person that we know that knows this place better than we do.” Vinyl said before finishing her meal. “Plus, this would make us less suspicious if we had the daughter of the police chief look after us.”
“That….might be the smartest thing you actually said in your entire life.”
“Thanks…..Hey!” Vinyl yelled which caused Nanako to giggle at their banter.
“Once you two are done eating, we can head over to the school zone in Samegawa flood plains. Dad should be in front of the school gate waiting for you to meet with the principle of the high school.”
“Alright, sounds like a plan kid.” Vinyl said before drinking what was left in her coffee.
“I just hope things don’t end up like how it was at that fast food place the other night.” Octavia said before reaching for a knife and fork and began to eat her breakfast properly.
After finishing their meals, the trio began to make their to school through the Samegawa flood plains. Rain began to pour down on them as Nanako and Octavia both had umbrellas to protect themselves from getting wet from the rain. Vinyl on the other hand used her magic to create a dome like barrier above herself as she walked along with the human and earth pony as they continue to walk. As they walked, people were looking at them with mixed expression on their faces. Most of them were teens and were more so looking at Vinyl using her magic to protect herself from the rain them looking at Octavia.
“So much for keeping a low profile…” Octavia grumbled. “You couldn’t just use the umbrella that Nanako offered?”
“She only had two, and us sharing an umbrella would make the folks here think we’re a couple. Plus I’m pretty sure keeping a low profile wouldn’t work. Seeing how we’re walking, talking ponies heading for school and I’m sure the kids at the high school will be even more curious as to who or what we are.”
“F-Fair point...I almost forgot about that aspect.” The earth pony said before sighing. “Still a bit nervous about going back to school...especially in a different country.”
“Hey if anypony tries anything funny, just let me take care of it with a fist in their faces.” Vinyl said as she cracks her knuckles.
“I think running away is better than fighting. I prefer not to be arrested again.” Octavia soon looked over at Nanako as she tapped her on the shoulder. “Excuse Nanako. But how long before we reach the school we’re supposed to be heading towards to meet with your dad?”
“You just keep going straight from here.” Nanako said pointing to the direction of the high school. “My school’s back down the way we came from. Bye!” She said, waving to the two mares before running off to the elementary school they walked passed. Both Vinyl and Octavia waved goodbye to Nanako before heading off into the direction that they were given. As they continued to walk down the street to where the intersection was, they took notice to some of the humans wearing what they could guess were school uniforms as they walked passed them.
“Huh, you don’t think that these humans are going to the same school we’re going?” Vinyl asked as she noticed a group of girls looking at them while taking pictures with their phones. “And what’s with those weird things that those humans keeps flashing at us with?”
“To answer your first question, they might be. Back home in Canterlot we had to wear uniforms so it wouldn’t surprise me that this school has a dress code. As for your second question.” Before Octavia could answer, she noticed a boy wearing the same colored uniform on a bike wobbling towards them with an umbrella in his hand. “You might want to move out of the way.”
“Whoaaaa!” The boy yelled as he road pass the two mares and crashed into a pole. Both Octavia and Vinyl winced at how the boy crashed as they went over to see how he was doing. “Ngh….Urrrrghhhh…”
“That looks painful….should we help him?” Octavia asked which Vinyl shook her head to answer.
“Best leave him be. We don’t want to make Dojima wait any longer do we?” Octavia nodded before walking passed the injured boy and headed off to school. After awhile of walking through groups of students taking pictures of them, the two mares arrived at the main gates of Yasogami High School.
“Whoa, talk about fancy. This place beats Canterlot High School out of the water!” Vinyl said as she lifted her shades up from her eyes.
“I must say it does look nice. Would look even nicer when the rain stops.” Octavia said as she and Vinyl walked passed the gate. Upon doing that, they soon saw Dojima standing at the front doors of the school waiting. “Hey, there Mr. Dojima.”
“Yo! Pops! Over here!” Vinyl yelled which got her a jab to her side by Octavia.
“Not so loud Vinyl.” She whispered before waving a hand at Dojima as he took notice to the mares heading towards him.
“About time you got here. I was beginning to worry that you two got lost.” Dojima said with a small chuckle in his voice.
“Yeah, Nanako made breakfast for us before she took us to where we needed to go. So blame her for making us a well balanced meal before we go to school.” Vinyl said which caused Dojima roll his eyes to the unicorn’s joke.
“Well now that you’re here. I was able to talk to the principle of this school to let you two in as students. Though he does want to see you two before classes start.”
“I take it he wants to know if what you told him is real and can be proven?” Octavia asked which Dojima nodded to her question. “Alright, that shouldn’t be a problem right?”
“It was kind for him to hear me out. Then again Adachi didn’t help much when he tried to reenact what Vinyl did to him down by the police station.”
“Oh Celestia. That must’ve been awkward and cringy at the same time.” Vinyl said, laughing as she started to imagine the scene that took place with them and the principle.
“Yes….It was.” The man said before motioning them to follow him inside. “Come along, we got work to do in getting you two set up for school.” Both mares nodded as they soon followed Dojima inside the school.
(Yasogami High School, Classroom)
“Talk about bad luck.” said a student sitting at his desk with an annoyed look on his face. “The homeroom teacher here is Morooka, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, it’s King Moron alright.” said the student’s friend. “We get to enjoy his long-ass sermons every day for the whole year. As if I need more boring lectures from him. If I wanted to be lectured at, I would’ve gone with my mom over seas then live with my dad.”
“Hey you guys, I heard there’s going to be two transfer students from a different country coming to this class.“ said a female student as it caught both male students attention.
“Students coming from a different country? Where did you heard that from?”
“It was when I was making my way to class. I didn’t get a good look at them seeing how I was walking by the principal's office and his door was closed. But from what I can gather, it seems like a big deal seeing how I heard officer Dojima’s voice inside the room.”
“Seriously? Man, you rarely see that guy here in this place. Guess it must be important.”
“Are the new students boys or girls?”
“Hard to say. I had to run away due to the sounds of someone yelling and stuff being thrown around inside the Principal’s office.” As the group of students continued to talk among themselves, A short haired girl overheard their conversation as she looked over at the boy behind her.
“A transfer student from a different country. Sounds just like you Yosuke. Only you transferred from a different city…..Yosuke?” She said before noticing the boy was face down on his desk. “Huh? You look dead today. What happen?”
“Yeah, um...I don’t wanna talk about it…”
“What’s with him?” The short haired girl asked, looking in the direction of a black-haired girl wearing the same uniform as the other students, only hers was red.
“Who knows?” She said before the door to the classroom opened. Once the door was open, a teacher walked inside and began to clear his voice.
“Awright, shut your traps!” The man yelled as he was fixing the top part of his hair and straightening his tie. “I’m Kinshiro Morooka, your homeroom teacher from today forward! First things first! Just ‘cause it’s spring doesn’t mean you can swoon over each other like love-stuck baboons. Long as I’m around, you students are going to be pure as the driven snow!”
Both mares were watching Mr. Morooka from the hallway as they couldn’t help but laugh at the way he was addressing the class “Seriously? This guy can’t be serious!?” Vinyl whisper as Octavia tried not to laugh.
“He reminds me of Cranky Doodle. Only thing he’s missing is the fake hair and donkey features!” Octavia added as the class could hear fits of giggles coming from the hallway. Most of the students tried to look at the doorway to see who it was, but their attention was drawn back to Morooka.
“Now I hate wasting my time, but I’d better introduce the new….transfer students.” Morooka said, grimmicing as he looks over at the doorway. “These sad sacks somehow got here from overseas in a country called….Equestria ….Who’s the idiot that called their country by that name anyway?” He asked before shaking his head in disgust. “Anyway, they’re just as much of a loser here as they were back in their country, so you boys better not get any ideas about hitting on them. Then again I doubt you’ll be interested in a bunch of horses anyway.” He said before quickly ducking out of the way of a chair heading towards him that was thrown by Vinyl.
“We’re ponies! Not horses you hairless ape!” Vinyl yelled as Octavia looked at her in disbelief
“Vinyl!”
“What!? He called us horses again! We are not cheap horses!”
“He’s from a different country then us. That doesn’t mean you can throw a chair at him...again.”
“Just get your asses in here before I get the Principal on your asses you little punks!” Morooka said as both Vinyl and Octavia entered into the classroom wearing the same uniforms as the students. Only Octavia’s dress was long. And Vinyl was wearing the male student’s uniform with her jacket covering her shoulders and a black long sleeve shirt under it with the word “wubs” on it. The students were taken by surprise, seeing the two equines enter into their classroom as some of them began to talk out loud.
“Hey, are they the two cosplayers that got arrested?”
“Those are the new students from overseas? Damn, where in the world did they get those outfits?”
“Are they even real? They look like something off of a kid’s TV show?”
“Quiet you little snot nose brats!” yelled Morooka as the class quickly quieted down. “Now I know you all think this is some kind of prank. Well I hate to break it to you all, but they are real. The Principal will be having an assembly in the gym to address the new students joining our school. So until then don’t even think about trying to have your way with them. Less you want to end up in hell for trying to have sex with an animal.” he said before noticing the glares coming from the two mares before flinching and looking away. “T-Tell ‘em your names and make it quick!”
“The name’s Vinyl Scratch. Or DJ Pon3. I’m the best DJ player in all of Equestria!” Vinyl said as Octavia sighed.
“And I’m Octavia Melody. Musician and singstree of the onsomble.” Octavia said as she bows to the class. “It’s a pleasure to meet you all and I’m sorry for my friend’s….rude impression upon coming to your country and school.”
“Hey, he was the one that was being rude. It’s one thing to touch my horn and try to pull it off because he thought it was fake. But calling me a horse is going way off the line of tolerance.”
“Heh, at least one of you can be polite.” Morooka grumbled as Vinyl looked over at the man.
“Buck you dude! At least my teeth don’t look like I've been eating nothing but bricks and glass.” The unicorn said which took everyone by surprise as some of them tried not to laugh from Vinyl’s comeback.
“That’s it, you’re on my shit list, effective immediately! Now listen up! This country is miles away from your big country full of talking mutant horse people that are just like us humans. Perverts and assholes, in more ways than one. You two better not even think of getting involved with the boys here, let alone abusing them! But what do I know. It’s not like the old days. Even here, Kids grow up so damn fast. Every time I turn my back, you’re fooling around on those damn phones, checking your life-journals and your my-places.” As Morooka continued on with his banter about kids and technology, Vinyl looked over at Octavia with a bored expression on her face.
“Do you have any idea what this asshole is talking about?”
“No….but I’m starting to get annoyed at how he’s disrespecting our kind.”
“Want me to teleport him to someplace around town?” Vinyl asked as Octavia paused to wonder if that was a good idea. Only to shake her head to the unicorn’s answer.
“No, then we’ll end up getting kicked out and Dojima will be angry with you for doing that.”
“Damn.” Just as Vinyl looked over at Morooka to see if he would stop talking, the short haired student wearing a green jacket raised her hand.
“Excuse me! Is it okay if the transfer students sit over here? There are two empty desk available.”
“Huh? Yeah, sure. Ya hear that? Your seats over there. Take your seats and shut it.” He said before Vinyl and Octavia walked over to where the girl with the green jacket was and took a seat at the empty desk.
“Sorry about Mr. Morooka. He’s the worst guy to have as a homeroom teacher.”
“Bucking hairless ape looking mother-bucker! He’s lucky I don’t know where to teleport him in this town.” Vinyl gumbled as she snorted in anger.
“Yeah, rotten luck for you two to get stuck in this class. Well, we’ll just have to hang in there for a year.” The girl said which caused both Vinyl and Octavia to stare at her in shock.
“Buck me sideway. We’re stuck with this racist bucker?”
“VInyl, language please!?” Octavia whispered. “I know you were angry at him for what happened in the principal office, but this is only until we can get back home okay?”
“.....Fine.” She said before leaning back in her seat. “But if he keeps acting like an ass, I get to pull pranks on him to at least help my anger.” Just as she was about to listen to more of Morooka’s rant about technology and kids, she overheard some of the students in the classroom talking about her and Octavia.
“Man, never thought I'd see talking animals come here to our school. You would think this was something that you would see on an anime show or something.” said a male student as Vinyl’s ear twitched upon hearing another student talking.
“Yeah, sucks that they ended up in King Moron’s class on the first morning here.”
“Man you must be pretty ballsy for calling out King Moron like that. But you better be careful. He won’t think twice about suspending you if you get on his bad side.”
“To be fair, we’re on the same boat as they are when it come to being suspended from school.” said a whinny looking student.
“Shut your traps! I’m taking roll call, and I damn well expect you to respond in an orderly manner!”
