There are waves moving across the ocean, seagulls flying through the sky. Fillies and colts playing laughing and running around the soft sand on the Equestrian Beach in Canterlot. On the streets are walking purple feet and white hooves. Spike and Rarity were heading to the beach for a vacation, Spike was pulling a wagon of beach stuff. He needed a break from working with Twilight to make sure she's a powerful alicorn princess and Rarity needed a break from her boutiques (the ones in Ponyville, Canterlot, and Manehatten). Spike was waiting for this whole moment to happen. "Ah, this is the life.", he said. "Thanks for coming with me on this vacation, Rarity. Means a lot to me."
Spike wanted to bring Rarity for his vacation so he can spend some time with her. Rarity was wearing a lady's beach hat and sunglasses. "You're very welcome, Spike.", she said. "I would never say no to you,... after all, you are my favorite dragon. And I'm curious, how many times have you been to this beach?"
Rarity is new to the beach that Spike goes to, he used to go to that beach by himself before moving to Ponyville. "Well, I know you're new to this beach, I've been to this beach like a million times.", he said. "I usually come here by myself. Well, I took Twilight with me one time."
Rarity was equally surprised. Spike didn't tell her that he brought Twilight one time. "Really, how did it go?", she asked.
It was a bad time when Spike took Twilight to the beach. "It didn't go so well.", he said. "But, any who, we're here. You want to put our stuff somewhere?"
Rarity looked at Spike and smiled. "Sure.", she said. When they both walked on the sand, Rarity moved her hooves up and down. "Ooh ouch ouch ouch!", she said. "The sand is hot."
Spike took Rarity's hoof to calm her down. Laying down always helps it not being very hot anymore. "Just lay your back down on it.", he said. "It'll be fine."
Rarity jumped and landed on her back. "Ah, you're right, Spike.", she said. "This does help." Then she looked at the wagon full of beach material. "Oh! Almost forgot."
She used her magic to pick it up and set it all up. "By the way, Spike, why did you bring that wagon along with you?", she asked.
Spike looked at Rarity with a smolder. "Well, I use it all the time when I come here.", he said.
"OK, so do you want to play catch?", Rarity asked. Spike widen his eyes and smiled. "Let's do it!", he said cheerfully. Spike ran 6 feet away from Rarity. "Ok, Rarity, give me your best shot!"
Rarity used her magic to threw the ball, then Spike catches it. Spike throws the ball back to Rarity, then she catches the ball. Rarity throws it back, but, she threw it too high. The ball fell straight down and landed on Spike's head. Spike lost his balance and fell head first in the wet sand. Rarity gasped. "Oh my gosh, Spike."
She ran over to Spike and unstuck his head from the wet sand. She held him in her hoof "Oh, Spike.", she said. "Are you all right."
Spike's head was dizzy from the ball landing on his head. "Ow, my head.", he said. Rarity held Spike real close and kissed him on the forehead. Spike looked at Rarity's beautiful face and hugged her tightly. "So, you want to take a break?", he asked. Rarity nodded. "Sure, this throwing got me exhausted.", she said.
At the spot, Rarity was laying down on the blanket getting a suntan while wearing sunglasses. Spike was building a sand sculpture shaped like Rarity's head. Rarity leaned her head up and removed her sunglasses from her eyes and saw Spike building that sculpture. "Whatcha building?", she asked.
Spike looked back at Rarity. "Huh, oh. It's just a sand sculpture of your head.", he said. "I made it special for you."
Rarity took a look at the sculpture, she loved it. "Aw, that's sweet.", she said. "Nopony has a built a sand sculpture of my head before."
Then, part of the ground started to rumble and rise. Then, it exploded, sand landed on everything. Out of the sand was a pink pony with a poofy purple mane, it was Pinkie Pie. "Whoo.", she said. "That took longer than I thought."
Spike was suprised to see Pinkie. "PINKIE PIE?!", he said. "What-- I mean-- How-- HOW DID YOU FIND US?!"
Pinkie looked at Spike's surprised face and spoke to him. "Well, duh.. I saw you talking Rarity and followed your tracks."
Rarity dropped her jaw. "YOU MEAN YOU FOLLOWED US?!", she asked in a shocked look. "And how did you get under the ground anyway?"
Then Pinkie looked at Rarity's shocked face. "Of course I did silly filly.", she said. "I'm just checking on you that's all. And don't question me. Ok, bye." Then she sunk back in the sand.
Spike looked at the spot where he built Rarity's face out of sand. "That sculpture was perfect.", he said sadly. "I was hoping the sand will stay together."
Rarity put her hoof on Spike's shoulder. "I know, that thing was beautiful.", she said. "But, sand sculptures don't last forever."
She thought for a moment. "I know what would cheer you up.", she said. Spike looked at Rarity and smiled. Rarity picked up the sand toys with her magic and used them to build a big, tall, sandcastle.
Spike opened his eyes wide and made the biggest smile ever. "OMC! This is wonderful!", he said. "I've never seen a huge sand castle like this before."
Rarity blushed and laughed. "I'm glad you love it.", she said. "I built one back in the past. It's really easy for me."
Spike walked around it, taking a look at it. "Wow, Rarity, how did you built it that big?" he asked. He waited and waited for Rarity to answer, there was nothing yet. "...Uh... Rarity?" Spike looked around trying to find Rarity.
Then, Spike found a beautiful seashell to give to Rarity. But, a carb sprung out of the shell and tried to get him. He dropped it, started running backwards and ran into something or somepony back first. It was a big red stallion with a green apple cutie mark, it was Big Macintosh, Applejack's older brother. "Oh, hi, Big Mac.", he said. "What are you doing here?"
Big Mac didn't say anything, he titled to his right and pointed behind himself. Spike looked behind Big Mac and saw his marefriend, Cherilee (The CMC's teacher) buried in the sand from her chest to her hooves. "Wow, Big Mac, did you bury her there?", Spike said.
"Eeyup.", Big Mac said. "Try it, it's... fuuuuuuun." Then he turned away from Spike and walked to Cheerilee, continuing to put sand on her body.
Spike saw Rarity by their spot, she was sleeping in the sun on the sand with her sunglasses on. Spike was thought what Big Mac said. He's going to do it. He tip-toed to beat of Rarity's soft snores. He kneeled down to Rarity's body and scooped up some sand and poured it on her shining white belly. Rarity kept snoring until she felt it. She woke up and saw Spike picking sand and putting it on her body. "Hey, Spike, what are you doing?", she asked.
Spike continued covering the white unicorn with sand as he answered. "I'm burying you.", he said.
The sand was keeping Rarity relaxed. She laid her head back down and closed her eyes. "Ah, this feels kinda nice.", she said. Hey, sure to get my hooves." Rarity wiggled her hind hooves until Spike covered them up with sand.
They laughed as Spike pressed the sand on Rarity's body. "Rarity, stop laughing.", he said. "You're killing me."
Rarity was still laughing. The sand started to tickling her. "I can't stop laughing.", she said. "The sand is tickling me." She took a couple deep breaths. Then, she relaxed.
Spike hopped over Rarity's buried body, sat down on the sand and leaned back on her marefriend's covered body. "How does it feel, Rarity?", he asked.
Rarity put her glasses over her eyes and leaned back. "Ah, feels good.", she said. "But, can't move at all."
"I'll help you get out.", Spike said. "We can do something else if you want."
"No, it's fine. It's cozy.", she said. "Besides, I kind of like being like this."
Spike looked at Rarity's head. "Where's your hat?", he asked. "You were wearing it earlier."
Rarity tilted her head back and pointed to their spot. "On the blanket.", she said. "I usually set it aside when I make myself at a place."
Spike took a look at the hat. "Never go anywhere without.", Spike said. "A lady does always make a good first impression."
Rarity smiled. "Just because I'm a lady (covered in sand all of a sudden) doesn't mean I have to make a good first impression.", she said. "You know, Spike. Ever since we first met, I never knew that you love me."
Spike looked at Rarity, he knew what she was talking about. "I know.", he said. "And that would've been a shame, because it took me a long time for me to do it."
"Really?", Rarity asked. "Did it really take that long to tell me?"
"Yeah.", Spike said. "When I first saw you, you were the most beautiful pony I've ever seen."
Rarity smile. Then she looked around the beach. "You know, I am glad I'm here with you." she remarked. "If I wasn't, then I would've been in a dirty situation like this. But, this is the best time of my life."
Spike raised an eyebrow. "What makes you say that?", he asked. "I thought you don't like your hooves being dirty."
Rarity looked at all the sand that Spike put on her. "I don't.", she said. "Well, the sand is so warm."
"That's because we're in the sun." Spike said as he looked up in the sky. "That's a hot day for you. Haha."
Rarity laid her head back down and fell back to sleep. "Hmm.", she said. Then, she hum-sing a tune while she sleeps.
Spike forgot one detail when he buried Rarity, he walked to the back of Rarity's head and gave her a pillow of sand. Rarity woke up and looked at the pile of sand then Spike. "Um... Is this alright?", Spike asked.
Rarity looked at Spike, then she looked at the sand. She knew she didn't want to hurt Spike's feelings if she didn't like it or is comfortable with it. But, she liked it anyway. "Mm... it's fine.", she said. Then she went back to sleep and continued to sing that tune.
Then, Spike peeked at both of Rarity's armpits, he snuck his claws to them and stroked both of her armpits with his fingertips. Rarity felt it and opened her eyes. "Ooh.", she said. It tickled her. "Ooh. Spike, what are you-- haha-- doing? hehe--." She started to giggle, snort, and laugh. Then she said, "No-- hahahaha-- Stop-- heeheehee-- that tickles."
Spike wasn't listening, he's been waiting to do this for years. He is glad that he brought Rarity along to beach. And they did have a great time at the beach, just Rarity and Spike.
Three hours passed and Spike and Rarity are still at the beach. It was quite, everypony went home. The little dragon and the buried white unicorn are still at their spot. Spike was massaging Rarity's front hooves while she's sleeping. "Rarity?", he asked.
Rarity woke up and turned her head to look at the little purple dragon. "Hmm?", she said.
"Have you ever been buried as a filly?", Spike asked. Spike was thinking of how Rarity liked the beach in the past. Even if he could find out.
"Not really.", Rarity said. "When I was a filly, all I did was relax in the sun. But, one time I buried my mom in the sand up to her chest."
"Wow, you buried your own mom?", Spike said. "How did she like it?"
"She feel asleep once I started.", Rarity said. "She's used to sand. Why were you asking if I was buried in the sand as a filly?"
"I was just wondering.", Spike said. "You know, Rarity, remember all those times I helped you?" Spike was remembering all those times when he helped Rarity with all the stuff she wanted to do.
"Yes.", Rarity said. "And today, you helped me."
"I did?", Spike asked. "What did I help you with?"
"You helped me relax, because you covered me with sand.", Rarity said. "Doesn't that sound good to you?"
"Sure.", Spike said. "It's just that... what if I never help you anymore in the future."
Rarity was puzzled. "What are you talking about?", she asked.
"Well, you remember all those times with our friends.", Spike said. We have picnics, we go to Sugar Cube Corner, we do stupid stuff. In the future, we grow up and go to different places. When time comes we won't be this close anymore." His ears drooped and looked down at the ground. "I like this life, and I think this life is cool to. But, if I ever change--"
Rarity jumped out of the sand and covered his mouth with her hoof before he could say more. "Shh. You worry too much, Spike.", she said.
"You hopped out of your spot.", Spike said. "And you're covered in sand."
"Yeah, but, I'll take a shower and wash this all off.", Rarity said. "Let me tell you something, Spike. You should never change your life. Besides, I never change my life, all I am is generous. You're a sweet little dragon, and I'll never leave you. Just a small dragon and a grown mare like me, should be together forever. So, why are you so worried about that anyway?"
A tear slid down Spike's eye, then, he ran to Rarity and hugged her. "I have friends all over the world.", he said. "But, you're the only friend I love so much, I'm scared of losing you."
Rarity returned his hug and spoke. "Silly."
