The day before
Pokey pierce stared at the beautiful Pink pony. He had been in love with Pinkie ever since he laid eyes on her. Pokey breathed in quickly, he was about to ask the mare of his dreams to be his mare friend.
Pinkie pie worked at sugar cube corner, like she did everyday. When she noticed Pokey pierce staring at her. He seemed to come to sugar cube corner every day. Didn't he have better things to do? Pinkie walked towards him. He seemed to light up. Pinkie sighed. This couldn't end well.
"Hello.. Pinkie pie." Pokey said, breathing quickly as he said her name. Pinkie smiled, and Pokey blushed.
"Are you going to order something?"
"I no.. I came to ask you.. If you would.. Be my.. Um.. Mare friend?"
Pinkie was tooken by surprise. She sighed quickly. She didn't want to break his heart. But she couldn't say yes. For she did not like him. "I'm sorry Pokey.. I love somebody else."
Pokey pierce felt his heart shatter. Pinkie felt horrible. "I'm sorry." Was all Pinkie could say as Pokey ran out of sugar cube corner.
Twilight walked into the store, the stallion almost bumping into her. Twilight saw Pinkie, she looked distraught. Twilight trotted over to Pinkie and asked her what was wrong. "Oh Twilight.." Pinkie felt ashamed. "I broke poor Pokey's heart." Pinkie fought back her urge to cry. Twilight rubbed her hoof on Pinkies shoulder, sending a chill down her spine. "I thought you liked Pokey?" Twilight asked. Pinkie almost gagged. "No, not in a million moons." Twilight and Pinkie both giggled. Pinkie couldn't help but stare at Twilight, she couldn't look away. Twilight was such a beautiful mare, Pinkie thought. It went quiet for a moment. As Pinkie was about to speak she heard Applejack speak.
"Howdy ya'll" said Applejack as she walked into Sugarcube corner with Rarity next to her. Pinkie smiled, quickly saying hello to her other friends.
