There Is No Getting Away From A Blood Draw
Twilight Sparkle was sitting at home as she got out of her appointment by lying to her friends and Nurse Redheart. She smirked as she avoided possible pain she knew that it woildent go great over with Nurse Redheart and Nurse Redheart probably wasn't to happy with her.
Then a knock at her door changed everything. She opened it up and as soon as she did Rarity started to speak.
"Where were you Twilight!? Nurse Redheart wanted you and you never showed up!!" Rarity exclaimed. Twilight got very nervous.
"I didn't want to go! I'm tired of being stuck!" Twilight yelled. Rarity tried to calm Twilight down and convince her to just accept that she has to get a blood draw and not fight it.
"Twilight listen! This is for your own good. You haven't been to her in a year and your last blood draw was exactly that! Last year. Now you can take this like a big mare and not struggle or I will I have to hold you down like a little filly like usual." Rarity said offering Twilight an ultimatum.
"No! You can't have my blood!" Twilight yelled at her. Rarity shrugged.
"Suit yourself." Rarity said pinned Twilight down and took a needle and tourniquet out and struggled to pin Twilight so that Twilight couldent pull away. Rarity laid on her and Twilight freaked out. Twilight kicked her legs and screamed and begged. Rarity tied the tourniquet around Twilights arm.
After she did that she took the cap off the needle and put a tube on it and Twilight screamed and begged her not to stick her. Rarity cleaned Twilights arm and then took a hold off it and took it out of her leg but continued to hold Twilights other arm down with her body.
"Twilight do not jerk your arm!" Rarity warned. Twilight grinned and when Rarity went to stick the needle in Twilight jerked her arm on purpose.
"Twilight! Don't do that! I told you not to jerk your arm!" Rarity yelled.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME!" Twilight screamed.
"Because Nurse Redheart needs a draw from you and it's been over a year since you had one!" Rarity yelled repositioning the needle. Twilight jerked her arm again and Raroy groaned.
"Do I have to tie you up to do this?!" Rarity exclaimed.
"No! I don't want to give my blood to you!" Twilight screamed in anger. Rarity ignored the her and repositioned the needle. Twilight kicked violently and then moved out from under Rarity. Rarity put the needle away and chased Twilight. Twilight screamed as she was chase up to her room.
Rarity then jumped her and restrained her on the bed. Twilight spat in Rarities face. Rarity paid no mind to what Twilight just did but got out the butterfly needle and prepared to do venipuncture on Twilight once again.
While this went on Rarity was annoyed. She had to go through chasing and holding Twilight down just so Nurse Redheart can check on Twilights health. If Twilight held still she could finish.
"Twilight! If you stayed still this would be done in seconds but no you have to throw a childish temper tantrum and refuse a tiny needle!" Rarity yelled.
"I hate needles!" Twilight screamed.
"I know Twilight but it's for your own good. We all have to get out blood taken sometimes just please stop refusing!" Rarity yelled ranting as she thought Twilight was being ridiculous knowing that if Twilight didn't act like this then she could make it easier for Twilight to get through it better.
"I hate when I'm held down and have blood taken! Why am I always held down!" Twilight yelled. Rarity went on a rant.
"Becaus you refuse something that can tell whether you have diseases I wouldn't have to hold you down if you stayed still for a blood draw or got written permission to refuse it. Blood draws help but I know you don't see it. Are you meaning to tell me that you don't care about your health!?" Rarity said in frustration. Twilight sighed and answered
"It's just to scary!" Twilight complained. Rarity put her hand on Twilight's cheek.
'You don't have to be scared. A lot of people even get over their fear of needles. It will only be a pinch and you will be done! I promise." Rarity told Twilight. Twilight nodded as she knew Rarity was going to say that.
"Yes I do I'm sorry for acting like that. I just hate needles but I should get over it as itS for my own good." She said. Rarity smiled.
"It's okay Twilight your forgiven. If it hurts just squeeze my hand okay. It will be over before you know it!" She said. Twilight quieted down and took a deep breath to calm herself and she let Rarity draw her blood. Rarity gave her her hand and got released Twilights pinned down hand. Twilight held Rarity's hand and she inched off of Twilight a bit but still pinned her legs.
She then drew Twilights blood. Twilight started to hyperventilate but Rarity gave her a reassuring smile. Twilight got control of her breathing, flinched but then relaxed as Rarity drew Twilight's blood. Rarity waited for the blood to fill the tube as Twilight tried to remain calm.
"That's it Twilight. That's a lot better than last time. Just keep still okay. It will only take a few moments." Rarity said as the blood filled the tube. Twilight tried to remain calm as much as she could as she didn't want to start freaking out because of the blood draw.
Soon the blood was almost to the top and when it was Rarity prepared to untie the tourniquet and got a cotton ball in order to prepare for the next part of the process. Twilight closed her eyes just in case if she felt like she was going to freak out again. She didn't like blood draws but she knew that it was necessary.
Soon the blood was almost there so Rarity untied the tourniquet and waited for a few more moments. Soon the blood reached the top so Rarity put the cotton swab on Twilight's arm and prepared to pull out the needle from Twilight.
Rarity pulled out the needle in a careful manner and added pressure to the puncture site to stop the bleeding. She then wrapped it up and they both hugged. Twilight then had a realization.
"That wasn't so bad. I shouldent have acted like that again from now on I won't act like that!" Twilight confessed. Rarity nodded.
"I should have told you that last time but I didn't and I said it was okay which it wasn't." Rarity said.
"That's okay Rarity. What you did was good for me. I can't thank you enough." Twilight said. Rarity then sent the sample to nurse Redheart and explained what happened. Twilight also apologized for purposely avoiding her appointment with Nurse Redheart and Nurse Redheart forgave her. Twilight also started to understand that if she never acted like that when getting blood drawn then she wouldent have to be held down and it would be quicker.
From that day forward Twilight changed her entire thinking on blood draws as she knew she needed them to stay healthy. She was glad as Rarity made her realize that how important her health was.
